Christmas is over, Elves are gone, snow is gone and we’re all just sitting around waiting for the next big thing to hit our games. And what better time to keep us entertained during a little lull period than Gil? I don’t know about you but even if I don’t take his deals I just love having Gil in my town. He always cracks me up….
So Old Gil has returned to Springfield…this time with a Princess of a deal! For 175 Donuts Gil is offering a Princess Combo for Lisa. The Castle Equalia and Queen Helvetica Outfit for Lisa. 
And I know many of your are wondering if this deal is worth your donuts…especially with that clock ticking down (remember it ends at 0800GMT (3am EST) on 1/20/15). But before you hit that confirm spend button let’s break down all the pros and cons of adding this royal combo to your Springfield….

Pros
– Premium skin for Lisa, so her tasks earn at a premium rate (when she’s Queen Helvetica)
-Comes with a questline
-Cool looking castle, looks much better than the ones that came with CoC
-Lisa will use the castle
Cons
-Expensive especially since it doesn’t come with a new character, only a new skin for Lisa.
-No Conform-O-Meter Impact. No improvement, no bonus.
-Only 2 tasks are outdoors
Final Thoughts
I’m going to try something new with my final thoughts. I’m going to give you two POV on these, a freemium take & a premium take. Let me know your thoughts about it and if it’s something I should do in future Should I Buys…
Premium Take
While this offers no real bonus to my Springfield it’s still something I purchased. I like the way the castle looks & I thought it would go well in town, since I already have the Two-nicorn. However, with no real incentives to purchase this one (no conform bonus or impact) it’s going to come down to how many donuts you have on hand & whether or not you want it. This is purely a “I have to have it” purchase.
Freemium Take
Freemium players…stay away from this one. It’s over priced & not worth those free donuts you’ve earned. Aside from Lisa earning at a premium rate, if offers no added benefit for your Springfield. Especially since you’ll have to use Lisa in order to use the costume. So my advice is enjoy Gil in your town..but don’t take him up on this deal.
Of course in the end we can’t tell you what to do…we can only let you know what we did/didn’t do. In this case I purchased it…but I am a premium player and have a TON of donuts in my town from when Gil had the donut offer going. So, for me, I didn’t mind spending the donuts on it.

I’m going to pass on this one; it’s a big building and I’m not that in love with it…. Maybe if I see it live in a neighbour’s town, I might change my mind.
After the first task, I thought I saw a message about Two-Nicorns being available in the shop, but I don’t see anything like that. Was I imagining it?
They should be in the shop for purchase (for donuts)…however if you already have 1 it won’t appear.

If you didn’t already have one, it should’ve appeared in the characters tap of the menu. Next step is to ask EA.
I would spend the sprinklies on a castle since I love anything to do with fantasy, but I haven’t a spare parcel of land to put it on if I did. WE NEED MORE LAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must admit to being a bit ticked that I bought the islands & then had them given to me. I understand the POV of the players saying that we shouldn’t complain about getting free stuff, but I wonder how they would all feel if they’d spent the doughnuts? Consequently, I’m probably not going to go for this deal with Lisa. I sure hope they don’t pull this stunt again – getting us to buy something & then turning around and giving a ‘limited time’ item to everyone. I had a terrible time with this whole Xmas thing in general. I didn’t get my doughnuts until 5 days later, and then I didn’t get all of them I was trying to buy. The EA rep I spoke with certainly wasn’t real forthcoming. So, no castle deal for me!
You’re not alone, the ISLANDS FOR EVERYONE reward annoyed the bejesus out of me. I had rushed to make sure I bought all the islands before the time ran out, wasting countless doughnuts only to learn that now I had way too many islands. DOH!
I do like the Freemium/Premium take on the post, I think it would be helpful. Pass on this one for me, 175 D’s is too much for a building and skin. If it had included the Two-nicorn within the 175, I may have been tempted.

When Gil was in town I purchased a several hundred worth. Most in my B game…in my main A game (that I don’t speed up but play at regular pace so I can enjoy) I put $200 in it. That should last me the whole year. My B game I’ll probably have to put more in around July…

Lisa is probably my favorite character and I would have loved to get this for her, but it’s just too expensive for me, as a freemium player. I think I’m going to stick with my decision to finally get Crazy Cat Lady/house this weekend (or tomorrow, if I lose my self-control), instead.
Oh, and another resounding “YES!” to the premium/freemium approach!

I bought it, simply because I’m a rich person’s house lover. I regret not getting the gold mansion though. I agree with others now, enough castles! Would have loved an individual character, but yay Lisa’s premium!! The donuts can definitely be better spent else where though.

I kind of had to get the castle. Well, I didn’t HAVE to, but I think it does fit in well here. Image splicing isn’t perfect because the balloon moves a little and another spot didn’t quite overlap properly, but you get the idea.

I added this for aesthetic appeal also happy it gives Lisa a premium skin & really hope EA can find some way to let you migrate all your COC items including the castles themselves into Krustyland. There’s ample land there & would be nice to free up the real estate in springfield

I’m glad I saved my donuts for something like this instead of that stupid golden cannon. Even as a completist, I couldn’t justify it. The freemium/premium comparo is awesome, btw. I think (hope) you may have found a new permanent thing. 🙂

Premium player and have become a completist to boot so I had zero hesitation in buying. (However due to a glitch my phone wouldn’t let me buy initially. That was my good luck because then I got the bonus Gil dialogue with Homer.)
Lisa is happily in her first task as Queen of Equalia.
There is one thing that your review glossed over which is important. This is a premium job for Lisa. The first premium job for Lisa. Sacajawea, Archer, Gymnast, and Cool Lisa all pay base rate. In the slow times between new levels and quests, I build up my bank. $400+ per day extra, with a 300% multiplier means that this skin makes $11,200 more per week than any other Lisa character.
Let me be yet another who says that I appreciate the Fremium vs Premium analysis. That should be a standard and might even deserve a revision and republication of other “Should I spend donuts” pages in the future.
I had to have it… And it is the first premium skin for Lisa, even though she already has a ton of free ones. Also, I am glad I passed on the Small Islands for donuts, so those “savings” almost make up for it 🙂

I love it and I don’t have a premium skin for Lisa. It would be great for my castle section. But it’s so expensive… I’ll decide in a couple days.
Was going to buy this. In fact, bought a truckload of 300 donuts and purchase was confirmed but now my game crashed and keep getting the Bart screen. As a premium player pretty disappointed. Now I’m thinking I need to stop wasting money on this game.
I didn’t become a premium player till after CoC so I was really happy to see the twonicorn again. The other day I saw it in someone’s town and was thinking about how I wish I had gotten it. I bought the castle right away 🙂
I also like the premium/freemium split. Random question – does anybody know how big the town is? I can purchase 16 squares along the mountain range (2 water, 14 land) but do not know the limit along the waterline (11 squares and counting). Want to do some redesign on the downtime. Thanks.
