Special Pride Event – WDTCF – J. Edgar Hoover

Yes. It’s another “Pride Event” in our Springfields.  I want to remind everyone that this isn’t the place (and is never going to be) to air your opinions about gay marriage, Leviticus, the LGBQT community, or anything else that is a political hot potato.  The fact is, EA/Gracie seem to choose to deal with every major holiday (as well as most of the minor ones), with tongues planted firmly in cheek, reminding us that there are far bigger things to worry about in this world than the pettiness that comes from such political/religious debates.

That said…there is no doubt at all, that the “Gill Deal” for Pride Week may ruffle a few (boa) feathers. J. Edgar Hoover is one of the most controversial figures of the 20th century.  I will dive into some of that history in a minute. But, the primary cautionary tale about his story (and the less than subtle way EA/Gracie are dealing with it) has more to do with the need to be proud of who you are…no matter who you are. Hence his slightly ambiguous introduction into “Pride Week.”

It is a fascinating story, whether you deem J. Edgar as worthy of his 199 donut price or not.

4/13/16 In-Game Update: Spring-field Cleaning (Gil Offer)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

A little update just hit our games…Springfield Cleaning

I’ll be back with more in a bit, but for now know that Homer starts things off and you’ll get a 6s task for Marge and 5 Springfielders.  Followed by a 6hr task for 5 Springfielders.  Once you start the 6hr tasks (ie send your first character on it) Gil will popup with a new offer.  He’s back with rebate donut deals!  Some new items and old returning.  I’ll break them all down in a bit..

Where Did THAT Come From – Ice Cream Man Homer & Ice Cream Truck

So Gil popped up and offered us another deal for 120 donuts. At first you might be thinking what the heck EA? How about you fix your glitch donut stealing issues first before you ask us to part with our real world money for your pixelated offerings and I completely understand those feelings.  I do have to say though… of all the things Gil has ever offered, this one is amazing.  Basically my favorite other than Truckasaurus.

You see… way back when this blog was in its infancy and TSTO was only on Level 35… we were already talking about the ice cream truck. Level 35 included the popsicle stick figures of Patty & Selma and Disco Stu which prompted discussion about the episode they came from. In fact, one of our early frequent tappers who has now disappeared into the ether of the net (where are you Jamminfrog?) asked ME to write about it. Of course, I only wrote a little but I actually like my words so I decided to tweak them and use them for this origin post. Bonus is I have FXXNow two years later so I can offer better images. Without further ado, here’s the origin of both Ice Cream Man Homer and his Ice Cream Truck.

Should I Spend Donuts On Gil’s Ice Cream Truck Deal? (Ice Cream Man Homer)

BEFORE I get into the details of the Gil deal…let me remind you.  If you’re STILL missing donuts.  Contact EA.  If the first rep doesn’t refund your donuts, try again and get someone else.  Be persistent and stay on top of them for it.  LOADS of readers have had their donuts refunded to them by contacting EA.  If they didn’t succeed the first time they tried again.  I know it sucks having your donuts missing, but they can be restored/refunded.  You just have to contact EA.  Please don’t complain in the comments about missing donuts if you haven’t even tried to get them back from EA.  You have to be a little proactive and persistent with this…stay on top of them until your donuts are refunded.  Here’s the link to contact EA:

Gil arrived back in Springfield yesterday afternoon, and brought us all a little summer treat!  Cause nothing says summer like ice cream and the ice cream man, right?

Gil’s Back in Town and He’s Brought “The Homer” With Him!

Update Alissa 3/12/15 11am EDT: Gil is back once again…as is The Homer.  It’s once again available for purchase in your store…
Note: Make sure you get another in-game update download screen.  If you don’t see it, hard close and restart TSTO.  

UPDATE BUNNY: We do not know if it is due to the major issues with Apple Market Down or something else, but Gil was pulled from the game again. For those that bought the car and had it taken away (mine is still there) please contact EA right away if your donuts were taken and not returned. 

In the meantime, we will keep an eye out to see if the Gil Deal makes a return.

Tapped Out Premium Walkthroughs: Queen Helvetica in We’re Not in Equalia Anymore

Earlier today Gil brought us a royal deal and if you are willing to part with the 175 donuts you’ll be treated to a fun little questline between Queen Helvetica & the citizens of Springfield.  Now let’s take a look at the full dialogue version of Queen Helvetica’s questline for those who have purchased her and need help and for those who won’t be purchasing her but still want to know what happens…

Some questline basics…for those who don’t like Spoilers:
-Questline is 6 total parts.
-You’ll need to build Town Hall and Channel 6 to complete
-Part 2 requires Mayor Quimby and Lisa
-Every other part only requires Lisa
