The week long speculated Superhero Event is Here! Currently it’s live on Google Play, iOS and Kindle!
Remember this is an App Store update, so you’ll have to check your stores for the latest version. If you don’t see it in your app store, and it’s out, hard close your store app and reopen it. If you still don’t see it restart your device. Should bring it up.
As always more details on the way as soon as we go through them…remember we’ll be updating as we go, so keep refreshing this post for the latest info.
Also note, Homer needs to be free for the first part.

First thing you’ll notice is Springfield has a new look & everything (dialogue included) is in Comic Book format! Pretty sweet looking touch!
As mentioned above you’ll need Homer free for the first part. He’ll have a 30 minute task and then you’ll unlock….PIE MAN!
(Free)
Pie Man will then have a hilarious 4hr task, to throw pies at Springfielders. Lisa will then need to be free to start Part 3. You’ll then be tasked to build the Superior Squad HQ. This will cost you $500 and comes with Fall Out Boy! This is also a 4hr Build.
Once you’ve gotten Fall Out Boy you’ll see this video play…
At that point you’ll then see the Event stuff unlock! You’ll also be tasked with tapping Criminals to earn the game currency, Carbon Rods.
Details for all will below…
Now let’s get to the new stuff….
Superior Squad HQ- $500, 4hr Build. 5×6 in size. Comes with Fall Out Boy. This is upgradeable..
Wrecked Brown House- $50,000 (You can buy as many as you want. Currently NOT functioning as a building. No payout. Not tappable.)
Fruit Bat Signal- $5,000 (You can buy as many as you want)
Premium
Tar Pits- 175 Donuts. Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs. 11×9 Comes with Petroleus Rex
Crap Silo- 100 Donuts. Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs. 4×4. Comes with Spiderpig!
Superior Squad Member- 90 Donuts. Just like the hunting license from Halloween. This will double the rewards for capturing criminals in friends towns
New Characters
Fall Out Boy- Comes with the Superior Squad HQ
Petroleus Rex- Comes with the Tar Pits
Spider Pig (Plopper)- Comes with the Crap Silo
New Currency
The currency for this Event, at least right now, are Carbon Rods.
Collecting Carbon Rods will help you earn the prizes for Issue 1.
Issue 1 Prizes
Like other events, this one will be released in Phases. Here are the prizes you can win for Issue 1:
Arbitrarium- 400 .
Once unlocked you can earn more by tapping on the Criminals. Arbitrarium will help you upgrade the HQ. Each upgrade does various things, like gives you more currency etc.
Burns State Prison- 7,000
Clownface- 18,500
Other Issues
Again, this will be released in phases…4 total phases, 3 prizes per phase. So there will be a total of 12 prizes all together. Here are the release days for each phase (so far)
Issue 2- 2/24/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
Issue 3- 3/10/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
Issue 4- 3/24/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
The understanding is that all of the other stuff will lock out on the 24th when Phase 4 launches, and the actual event itself will end on the 31st of March. BUT you’ll have to get everything else in game before the 24th.
You can also get a sneak peak of what prizes are for each phase by tapping on it in the game. However, here’s a quick rundown for Issues 2 and 3 (again Issue 4 is still a mystery at this point)

Criminals
Right now there’s only 1 type of Criminal in our games and they look like this:
Tapping on the Criminals will give you Carbon Rods (15 per Criminal to start) and occasionally Arbitrarium (see info on it above). Remember Carbon Rods will earn you prizes for Issue 1 and Arbitrarium will help you upgrade your HQ.
The spawn rate on the Criminals is at least 1/ 5 mins and you can have a Max in your town of 30 at one time.
HQ Upgrades
As with events past, you can upgrade your Superior Squad HQ for even more power & currency when tapping Criminals!
Once you’ve unlocked the Arbitrarium prize, you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade your Superior Squad HQ.
Arbitrarium looks like this and will occasionally pop out of Criminals (in addition to Carbon Rods) when tapped. Think Cog Wheels with Christmas.
Friend Visits
AFTER you’ve tapped your first 20 Criminals you’ll unlock the ability to go to friends towns and arrest/report criminals (to earn more Carbon Rods).
Here’s what you can do. You can either Arrest Criminals in their towns (Tapping on them) OR Report on them (tapping on the phones over Buildings).
Phones look like this 
For each arrest you make (tapping on Criminals) you’ll earn 3 Carbon Rods.
For every report you make (tapping on the Red Phones) you’ll earn 1 Carbon Rod.
You can tap 3 Criminals/town AND 3 Phones per town, for a total of 12 Carbon Rods/neighbor.
We’re checking into a couple of things at the moment…like number of actions/day you’re limited too & if the counts go down at all. Once we have numbers/details we’ll update this post with it.
Now…when you return to your Springfield if you see a red phone Radioactive Man’s Glowing Signal, if you tap on it right away you’ll get 4 Carbon Rods. (a gift from your neighbors) 
We’re also checking to see if this declines & by how much with time.
Note: As long as you’ve reached the part in the questline, AFTER you’ve cleared the first 20 Criminals…you’ll be able to earn rewards from both tapping phones and Criminals from visiting neighbors. Even if they haven’t started the event. Both will appear in their towns for you to tap. However, if you don’t clear the first 20 Criminals and reach the part of the questline telling you to go into neighbors towns and Arrest Criminals/Report on them…you won’t earn Carbon Rods from tapping Criminals, only from reporting on them. So make sure you clear the questline first BEFORE visiting neighbors.
Remember: If you buy the Membership Card you’ll earn double Carbon Rods in Neighbor’s Towns.

Got home to what I expect to be my favorite update to this game! I love the new dialog boxes and the font changes, even the task book icon. I was patient through Valentine’s knowing better stuff was coming… And this is great stuff!

I think it’s funny that they bill it as “Crap Silo, comes with Spider Pig.” I definitely look at it as “Spider Pig, comes with Crap Silo.” I mean, seriously…if they were sold separately, I’d bet large sums of money that the number of Spider Pigs, they’d sell would definitely exceed the number of Crap Silos they’d sell!
Spying on Sequal stop animates it, which is awesome. Also I wonder if all the people whining about the V-Day feel foolish now. Amazing update, may end up being best event ever.
It keeps on crashing. Nooooo. Why?
But, will try again later. Hope by then it will start working again.
Anyway, I’m so hype right now. Excited for those prizes.
Mine threatens to crash every time I open the app. As soon as it loads ~everything~ that isn’t a character or road/pavement disappears. Once I move the screen it reloads all. I’m terrified that it will crash and lock me out.
I have one word for this event… AWESOME!!!!!!
I have to say my love for tsto was starting fade for quite some time but now my love is renewed!!! This event is fun, detailed, awesome to look at (loving the dialog animation, shrubbery, and of course POW, Whish, ZAP!!), and the audio is just the icing on the cake!! I even thought 100 donuts for spider pig was a total steal (bought it as soon as I could- and I’m freemium), I was expecting a price tag of 200 on him at least!!!! You guys are awesome as always, one of the reasons I didn’t give up on tsto months ago!!

Something interesting happened in my game. When I returned from visiting some neighboreenos there were atom signs on a bunch of my buildings. When I tapped them it said so-and-so spied on your building and gave me 1 rod. Some were from Neighbors I dropped months ago including my alternate Springfield. I think they were leftovers from a previous event.
That is an odd one.
1. I absolutely love that Bunny geeked out on the calendar at the beginning of the post, my geek was showing too lol.
2. I got Spiderpig instantly. I am more excited than I’d care to admit about him.
3. Any news on The Fruit Bat? Is he making a come back?
I noticed that when I ran out of criminal captures, I could still tap phones and get carbon rods. Is this normal, or a helpful glitch?
Normal… you can help all your neighbors every 24 hrs for 3 rods per town visited.

Any idea on how tapping red phones on regularly-graffiti buildings (Moe’s etc.) affect neighbors that haven’t updated yet? I’ve no idea how many unintentional tags I’ve done today just focused on phones. So sorry to any of you I tagged if I did!
Just tested it…and yes. It shows up as vandalism if they haven’t upgraded yet. So AFTER they’ve upgraded it should be safe to do, but before they’ve upgraded it will not.
Uh oh. I might have apologizing to do. I did notice when you tap on neighbors buildings the building’s animation becomes active. Which is cool.
I love how this time they slapped us in the face and made H plopper or spider pig or harry plopper a premium.

General rule of thumb…if it’s highly requested it’s going to be premium. Point prove, Crazy Cat Lady. Everyone wanted her and she was released, as premium.

Has anybody else had problems with their iPad Air losing it’s audio while playing this update?
I don’t have the iPad Air…so i’ll toss this up to the crowd. Any other feedback?
I have a standard iPad (about 2 years old) and I lose the music after it plays through. If you visit KL and come back, the music returns, but then fades out again after a full cycle. I don’t know why it does that, but it’s been like that for ages for me.
Spiderpig…could it get any better?!?! And the batmanesque noises and animation when you tap the criminals, fantastic! Always been such a huge fan of the old batman (Adam West) show. I am one happy girl!
What is the hand of justice power? When you update HQ it says increased hand of justice power.
It enables your HQ to earn Carbon Rods instead of Cash. Each upgrade you earn more Carbon Rods. Also, each upgrade expands your radius of tapping criminals. (like the nails at Halloween) Fully breakdown post is coming 🙂

You guys are “super” amazing at getting all this info out so fast to us!! I have only had one glitch so far. I can only tap on the phones in my neighbors towns. It does nothing when I tap on the criminals. I’m not too worried about it thou. You can always expect a few glitches in the beginning. EA will work the bugs out. So far I REALLY like this event! I really like the looks of the game and town. I think it actually looks better this way than normal. Thanks again for working so hard for us!! 😀
If you are not getting rods… could be you already visited neighbors today. 90 Criminal Actions per 24hrs

I’m having the same problem and had only visited my other Springfield. It let me tap 3 of each but then when I visited my real neighbors it would only let me tap the phones. The criminals would just stand up straight for a few seconds. Any other thoughts on this?
So you tapped on NO ONE in the last 24 hours BEFORE the event hit?
Is Petroleus Rex NPC or does he have tasks? Couldn’t find a should I buy for him or spider pig.

I just got the update on kindle.I have an ipad so I was lucky enough to update at 1pm. However, I love playing on the kindle. Everything is quicker and I can zoom in and out easier. I visit all 100 friends in half the time.
Not sure if anyone has reported-but it looks like Kindle is now updated, I’m downloading the update now. I did have to restart my Kindle and sign onto the app for it to offer me the update. We are only 7-8 hours later, so shouldn’t be too far behind. Let the good times roll 🙂

I absolutely loved it when Pie Man was given the task of throwing pies at random Springfielders. He started the task by stating how he wished this was a shooter game. Now I have no choice but to have Brandine, Hank Scorpio, The Rich Texan and Mc Bain marching up and down the streets shooting their firearms randomly in the air.
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, but when I tapped criminals in my neighbors towns I only received cash, not carbon rods. And it already told me I could start doing so.

I had the same thing happen — but had not tapped any criminals in friends towns yet, beyond the ones in the tutorial quest. I think I see what has happened: it is counting yesterday’s friend actions as criminal taps (which is why in towns where I theoretically shouldn’t be able to act yet, I am only able to tap on the phone icons). I am presuming this will all roll over after the 24 hours is up, and I will start getting double rewards.
Your 24hrs reset is still in place. So if you cleared the visits already, Criminals won’t payout til reset
Same problem here. I cleared all my neighbors at 10am EST yesterday and even though I’ve cleared the first 20 Criminals and past that part of the questline (the note in Alissa’s tutorial above) I can currently only tap phones in my neighbors town, the criminals just stand up straight. The current time is almost 8am EST. I’m hoping, like FarawayFarms said that the game is counting my taps from yesterday and if I wait until after 10am EST today to visit my neighbors, I will be able to tap both criminals and phones. It’s nice how the neighbor tap cleared to let us start early but it really isn’t any help if you we only end up with 3 carbon rods per visit (phones) vs. 12 per visit (phones and criminals). Happy tappn’
Idk if this is the place to do it, but the length of this post reminded me to make a small suggestion.
A small sticky “Back to Top” button would be handy. One that sticks to the side of the screen while you scroll, so you can head straight to the top of the page in one click, no matter where you are on it, like on eBay 😮

We’re restricted by the limitations of WordPress. So I can do one, but it’ll just refresh the page…similar to hitting reload
It depends on your device, but on a PC if you hit CTRL+up arrow! or a Mac and hit command+up arrow, you’ll auto-scroll to the top of the page. On my iPad and iPod, if I tap the top center of the screen (where the time is), it will also return me to the top of the page. Don’t know if that works on Kindle or Android devices, but it’s worth a try. 🙂
