The week long speculated Superhero Event is Here! Currently it’s live on Google Play, iOS and Kindle!
Remember this is an App Store update, so you’ll have to check your stores for the latest version. If you don’t see it in your app store, and it’s out, hard close your store app and reopen it. If you still don’t see it restart your device. Should bring it up.
As always more details on the way as soon as we go through them…remember we’ll be updating as we go, so keep refreshing this post for the latest info.
Also note, Homer needs to be free for the first part.

WARNING: Mild Spoilers Ahead
First thing you’ll notice is Springfield has a new look & everything (dialogue included) is in Comic Book format! Pretty sweet looking touch!
As mentioned above you’ll need Homer free for the first part. He’ll have a 30 minute task and then you’ll unlock….PIE MAN!
(Free)
Pie Man will then have a hilarious 4hr task, to throw pies at Springfielders. Lisa will then need to be free to start Part 3. You’ll then be tasked to build the Superior Squad HQ. This will cost you $500 and comes with Fall Out Boy! This is also a 4hr Build.
Once you’ve gotten Fall Out Boy you’ll see this video play…
At that point you’ll then see the Event stuff unlock! You’ll also be tasked with tapping Criminals to earn the game currency, Carbon Rods.
Details for all will below…
Now let’s get to the new stuff….
Superior Squad HQ- $500, 4hr Build. 5×6 in size. Comes with Fall Out Boy. This is upgradeable..
Wrecked Brown House- $50,000 (You can buy as many as you want. Currently NOT functioning as a building. No payout. Not tappable.)
Fruit Bat Signal- $5,000 (You can buy as many as you want)
Premium
Tar Pits- 175 Donuts. Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs. 11×9 Comes with Petroleus Rex
Crap Silo- 100 Donuts. Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs. 4×4. Comes with Spiderpig!
Superior Squad Member- 90 Donuts. Just like the hunting license from Halloween. This will double the rewards for capturing criminals in friends towns
New Characters
Fall Out Boy- Comes with the Superior Squad HQ
Petroleus Rex- Comes with the Tar Pits
Spider Pig (Plopper)- Comes with the Crap Silo
New Currency
The currency for this Event, at least right now, are Carbon Rods.
Collecting Carbon Rods will help you earn the prizes for Issue 1.
Issue 1 Prizes
Like other events, this one will be released in Phases. Here are the prizes you can win for Issue 1:
Arbitrarium- 400 .
Once unlocked you can earn more by tapping on the Criminals. Arbitrarium will help you upgrade the HQ. Each upgrade does various things, like gives you more currency etc.
Burns State Prison- 7,000
Clownface- 18,500
Other Issues
Again, this will be released in phases…4 total phases, 3 prizes per phase. So there will be a total of 12 prizes all together. Here are the release days for each phase (so far)
Issue 2- 2/24/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
Issue 3- 3/10/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
Issue 4- 3/24/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
The understanding is that all of the other stuff will lock out on the 24th when Phase 4 launches, and the actual event itself will end on the 31st of March. BUT you’ll have to get everything else in game before the 24th.
You can also get a sneak peak of what prizes are for each phase by tapping on it in the game. However, here’s a quick rundown for Issues 2 and 3 (again Issue 4 is still a mystery at this point)

Criminals
Right now there’s only 1 type of Criminal in our games and they look like this:
Tapping on the Criminals will give you Carbon Rods (15 per Criminal to start) and occasionally Arbitrarium (see info on it above). Remember Carbon Rods will earn you prizes for Issue 1 and Arbitrarium will help you upgrade your HQ.
The spawn rate on the Criminals is at least 1/ 5 mins and you can have a Max in your town of 30 at one time.
HQ Upgrades
As with events past, you can upgrade your Superior Squad HQ for even more power & currency when tapping Criminals!
Once you’ve unlocked the Arbitrarium prize, you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade your Superior Squad HQ.
Arbitrarium looks like this and will occasionally pop out of Criminals (in addition to Carbon Rods) when tapped. Think Cog Wheels with Christmas.
Friend Visits
AFTER you’ve tapped your first 20 Criminals you’ll unlock the ability to go to friends towns and arrest/report criminals (to earn more Carbon Rods).
Here’s what you can do. You can either Arrest Criminals in their towns (Tapping on them) OR Report on them (tapping on the phones over Buildings).
Phones look like this 
For each arrest you make (tapping on Criminals) you’ll earn 3 Carbon Rods.
For every report you make (tapping on the Red Phones) you’ll earn 1 Carbon Rod.
You can tap 3 Criminals/town AND 3 Phones per town, for a total of 12 Carbon Rods/neighbor.
We’re checking into a couple of things at the moment…like number of actions/day you’re limited too & if the counts go down at all. Once we have numbers/details we’ll update this post with it.
Now…when you return to your Springfield if you see a red phone Radioactive Man’s Glowing Signal, if you tap on it right away you’ll get 4 Carbon Rods. (a gift from your neighbors) 
We’re also checking to see if this declines & by how much with time.
Note: As long as you’ve reached the part in the questline, AFTER you’ve cleared the first 20 Criminals…you’ll be able to earn rewards from both tapping phones and Criminals from visiting neighbors. Even if they haven’t started the event. Both will appear in their towns for you to tap. However, if you don’t clear the first 20 Criminals and reach the part of the questline telling you to go into neighbors towns and Arrest Criminals/Report on them…you won’t earn Carbon Rods from tapping Criminals, only from reporting on them. So make sure you clear the questline first BEFORE visiting neighbors.
Remember: If you buy the Membership Card you’ll earn double Carbon Rods in Neighbor’s Towns.

Just a quick question…..Do I need to leave buildings untapped in order to allow my neighbours to earn carbon rods or can I clear them? 🙂
Ideally leave them untapped. Running some tests, but for now leave them untapped.

Findings from Neighboreeno tapping: As most have probably noted, you get to tap three criminals AND three buildings on each day’s visit.
It looks like the first 100 (I think, I didn’t count exactly…all the numbers here are approximations) criminals tapped in neighbor towns produce either three or six rods each (plus cash and XP), depending on whether you have the special license or not. (My advice about the license: If you think you’re going to get it, buy the license early in the event for maximum benefit.) After 100 tapped neighbor criminals, they’re still tap-able but produce only money and XP. It would appear the criminals are like the gremaliens from the Halloween 2014 event: There are always some spawned for tapping whenever you visit a town (and haven’t already tapped your three in that Springfield for the day).
Tapping buildings (with the red phones) always produces one rod per building, even all the way through all your neighbors. This appears to have replaced the normal clasped-hands neighbor building tap. So there’s definitely an incentive (albeit a small one) to tap through all your neighbors and set off those phones.
Oh, also: Arbitrarium (love the name) seems to be obtainable only by tapping your own town’s criminals, and just as a rough guesstimate, I’d say they have somewhere between a 1:5 to 1:10 chance to drop. Really hard to say for sure though.

Ah, 90 then. Makes sense. Just like the Gremaliens were. 🙂
I noticed in the Vigilante collection that I see Fruit bat man. Perhaps Phase 4 reward?
He was part of an episode tie-in way back when TSTO first game out, so a regrouping of characters. However, it looks like he could be making a comeback

@Alissa / Bunny … Have you got any further information on the function of the bank of Springfield? Would it really be – FINALLY – possible to do trading / funds / doing deposits with interests?

At the end of each phase a character/costume is awarded…
Phase 4 is still a mystery.
We have fall out boy yet radioactive man is still nowhere to be seen.
Hmm… (Holds chin in a smart way) very suspicious… Now I must go back to putting my feet on my desk, my hat over my face and charge people a quarter for mysterys to be solved.

Question: i purchased the membership card, and im not getting double carbon rods in my friends towns?!
Did you reach the part of the questline where it tells you to visit neighbors? (A New Hero Rises pt. 2)
Yes i am past that stage, im only collecting one rod per tap.
Criminals or houses?
For criminals in my friends towns, im collecting cash and one rod per building. In my town im collecting i think 15 rods per criminal
If you are on cash… you hit your 90 MAX actions for visits. Buildings keep paying out to 300 Actions (dont have more neighbors than that)
15 rods to start is noted in several spots in the post. 😉

I seem to be having the same issue. I’m past the questline but only getting money from criminals. I even made sure the friend I visited had several rods and looked like they had progressed into the questline (i.e. they had completed building the Superior Squad HQ).
Once you max out on visits, we just learned it’s 90 actions, Criminals no longer pay out Rods. So it could be that you’re caught somewhere in the middle. My suggestion is to wait until every friend action resets & try again. If you’re still not getting them, it’s time to contact EA.
Also…just read the info when you purchase it. It only applies to Criminal Taps. So you will still only get 1 per building tap.
If everyone is super…no one is.;)

It looks like us Kindle users are going to have to wait until some time tomorrow for the update, is there any idea how rigid the dates for the new phases are? If we don’t get the update until tomorrow, that’s less than six days to try & win all the phase one stuff, which seems impossible to do without spending doughnuts. Thanks, Amazon!

Just made a round through my neighbours, and the carbon rods from criminals cut out after 30 towns (or 90 criminals caught), while the buildings keep dropping rods.

Kinda bummed that I visited all my neighbors just moments before going to bed last night. Will have to wait at least 12 more hours til I can start visiting for event currency QQ aw. Much first world problems.

In reading through the post it seems the Membership Card will earn twice as many Carbon Rods in friend’s towns, but I also see the subsequent phases/issues of the event will have you collecting Pie Bombs and Freeze Rays. Anyone know if the Membership Card will allow for the doubling of those currencies, or will another Membership Card have to be bought to earn twice the Bombs/Rays?

Oh my goodness, building animations are back. I forgot how much fun it was to seek out the best ones (guinea pig home, ice rink, much ado about muffins and the subatomic particle accelerator to name a few of my faves) .
Just spent 25 minutes on phone with Amazon to have them tell me the update isnt available yet with them. They are in contact with the game developer.. So they say ☺ was told they dont know when it will be available.. No time frame, but when it does become available i can get it from the Amazon app store. DUH. So we peeps with kindles shall wait.. And wait. 😕 **sigh**

I now have the update available, update, store circle that you talked about earlier. On with EA chat now and they say they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve ASAP. I would suggest everyone contact them-power in numbers and all.
