Tapped Out Special Event Walkthroughs: Pride Month

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So yesterday we had ourselves a little in-game update…a mini event for Pride Month.  Although like many things in TSTO the timing isn’t quite right.  In our Springfield Pride Month will last a week….

In addition to some rainbow themed decorations, we were given a fun little questline to keep us busy.

Initially I was only going to post the Turbo Tappin’ version of this questline…and then I read it.  And honestly I couldn’t stop laughing.  This questline is really well done, is hilarious and pokes fun at the political correctness of the world we live in…as only the Simpsons can.  So…I decided to post the entire walkthrough with dialogue.

I know there are some of you that won’t participate in this event…and I get it.  It’s your opinion and your right to do so.  However, I encourage you to try and remember it’s just a game and games are supposed to be fun.  I also encourage you to at least read the questline below (if not in your game)…it’s really funny and pokes fun at everything and everyone in only a way the Simpsons can.

So now…on with the show walkthrough!

Naked Homer

Springfield Over the Rainbow Pt. 1
Auto-start

Lisa: We’ve never had a Pride Month in Springfield. I think it’s about time we did!
Mayor Quimby:
Um… how about a Pride Day?
Lisa:
I knew it — you don’t really support Pride.
Quimby:
I’m a politician — I support everything.  But if it’s a day, we can make it a government holiday. Those dozens of days off a year are the reason I got into public service.
Lisa:
But Pride deserves a month, not a day.
Quimby:
Hmm… maybe I could use it as an excuse to have a month of half-days.
Place Pride Decorations- x3.

Springfield Over the Rainbow Pt. 2
Lisa starts

Lisa: Aunt Patty, I came up with a bunch of decoration ideas for Pride Month!
Patty:
Pink triangles and rainbows, honey. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Blue Haired Lawyer:
I represent Mr. O’Reilly the Leprechaun.  I have here a court order demanding you cease and desist from using triangles, rainbows, or any other symbol as a decoration.
Leprechaun:
No more copying me lucky trademarks!
Patty:
But your lucky symbol is the clover.
Leprechaun:
And the rights to all symbols “inspired by or in any aspect similar to” that symbol, according to the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Lisa:
Please, Mr. Leprechaun. It’s for a good cause — Pride!
Leprechaun:
Well, I suppose I am a proud Irishman. So OK. But no symbols on merchandise!
Make Lisa Advertise Pride Month on the Internet- 12hrs, Earns $420, 100xp
Lisa: Now we just need a venue for the party.
Coach K:
How about my place, the YMCA? It’s fun to stay there!
Lisa:
I don’t know, sounds sketchy…
Coach K:
What if I told you you could have a good meal there? And get yourself clean?
Lisa:
I DO like to be clean.

Springfield Over the Rainbow Pt. 3
Lisa starts

Lisa: Pride month is almost here! Aren’t you excited?
Quimby:
Excited for it to be over!
Lisa:
Really?  Why?
Quimby:
Haven’t you seen Springface? Every special interest group has put up a page demanding their own month, too!
Lisa:
Springface is so 2014. All my friends now use Instaspring. But I’ll check out Springface… if I can remember my password.
Make Lisa Check Out Springface- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
Hibbert: Why Pride Month? We skipped right past Black History Month… and on the fiftieth anniversary of the Selma march!
Selma:
How about Smoker’s Month… for the fiftieth anniversary of Selma’s lungs turning black.
Agnes:
I want to see Women’s History Month. Followed by Mother’s Month!
Krusty:
And Jewish American Month! Passover, Yom Kippur and all of those Sabbaths aren’t enough!
Grampa:
National Hip Replacement Month! Better yet, National Hip Replacement Month!
Hibbert:
Don’t forget Black Music Month. That’s right, we get two months!
Moe:
And while we’re at it, why does everyone always ignore Stalker’s Awareness Month?  It’s a real thing. Look it up.
Lisa:
I am … and you’re right. ….. Over 400 groups are wrestling over a measly 12 months.
Rev. Lovejoy:
11 months actually. God pretty much owns December.

Springfield Over the Rainbow Pt. 4
Lisa starts

Quimby: Lisa, I’m afraid we’ll have to cancel Pride Month. The other groups all want a month too. It’ll be decades of months!
Lisa:
Why not just have one month for everyone? Like Springfield Diversity Month?
Quimby:
So make everyone think they’re special by treating them all the same? You’re a political genius!
Make Lisa Campaign for Diversity Month- 12hrs, Earns $420, 100xp

Springfield Over the Rainbow Pt. 5
Lisa starts

Lisa: I hope my suggestion of Diversity Month won’t upset the LGBT community.
Smithers:
I think I speak for most by saying I support all causes for Pride.
Burns:
Oh really, Smithers? What are you so proud about?
Smithers:
Um… just, you know… go diversity!
Burns:
Yes, like the diversity between my salary and everyone else’s!
Make Burns Celebrate Diversity- 12hrs, Earns $420, 100xp
Make Springfield’s Unique Citizens Celebrate- x8.  2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp Freemium and $175, 40xp Premium.
Duffman: Only one thing could make this celebration better: Duff Beer, official beer of Diversity Month!
Lisa:
Seriously? You’re really gonna use Diversity Month as a marketing opportunity?
Mr. Burns:
Smithers, head back to the office and start working on the “3 kilowatts for the price of 2” Diversity Month Special.
Lisa:
My idealism has officially been destroyed.
Duffman:
Only one thing could make this moment better: Duff beer, official beer of having your idealism destroyed!

Springfield Over the Rainbow Pt. 6
Homer starts

Homer: What reason do I have to celebrate Diversity Month? I’m just an average, normal American.
Hibbert:
Surely you jest. You have one of the most diverse collections of lifestyle-related health problems I’ve ever seen!
Homer:
Woo hoo! To further encourage diversity, I will now chug a six-pack.
Make Homer Celebrate his Pride- 2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp
Make Springfielders Join the Continuing Festivities- x8.  2hrs.  Earns $110, 27xp Freemium and $175, 40xp Premium.

And that concludes the Pride Week questline my friends!

What are your thoughts on the dialogue?  Did you find it as funny as I did?  Which special interest group’s month request was your favorite?  Personally I thought Moe’s was pretty funny…oh Moe.  You creepy, creepy goon.  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I am oh so happy with the Pride stuff! My town looks like a rainbow barfed all over it and soon Krustyland will too. It makes my heart happy. This might just be the even that breaks my freemium status. I bought a pride billboard and have enough for the Two-nicorn but I haven’t decided if I want the steel mill yet.

    • My heart is happy too. My entire Springfield is celebrating Pride. Dance,Dance,Dance… Those memories last a lifetime.

  2. Love the splash of colour, but as people have commented we need more land I have almost everything, I’m a premium player and my town looks cramped everything too close together. I have a tiny bit of spare land and really don’t want to put stuff in storage 😞

  3. These decorations rock! Everyone should get twonicorn… it’s so fun to get a barf rainbow on demand!

I was thrilled to see that I could put the flags and trees in Krustyland. I think they are whimsical like Krustyland is, but I’m also keeping some in my regular Springfield as well.

I’m giggling at some of the places where my neighboreenos have placed the flags. 🙂

    Happy Pride Month!

  4. Love the splash of colour but like other people have commented we need more land I have almost everything I’m a premium player and my town is too cramped everything is close together and I have a tiny bit of spare land realy don’t want to put stuff in storage 😞

  5. Made a point of getting some more donuts yesterday so I could get the Steel Mill. Easily one of the Top Ten Simpsons episodes for me, and I have to admit the rainbow trees look incredible in my Krustyland!

  6. And trying to get that image of streaking homer out of my head will take weeks.

Side note. Love the trees. Love the event. Just wish they offered fremium items other than trees and a flag. Oh well.

Fun update! Cities in real life host pride events, so makes sense our Springfields do too! I understand some people see this topic as a moral issue, but hope everyone can just have fun and enjoy the update. We’re playing a game that basically celebrates the sins of gluttony and sloth, and that huge drunk fest known as st. Patrick’s day – so it’s not like the game has been walking around on any moral high ground. I say live and let live and enjoy the rainbows!!!

  8. What do u think are the chances we’ll get a task for Homer to be pummeled by reindeer at Santa’s Village?

  9. I was hoping for a “We’re here! We’re queer! We don’t want any more bears!” march.

  10. I am quite surprised that John wasn’t introduced during PRIDE (the gay owner of Cockamamie’s Collectibles Shop filled with various “camp” items). Is there a chance he’s in the files??

  11. Used alot of the colourful trees to brighten up my mini house farms which I had grown very tired of looking at …now they look so gay and proud!
    … truly happy : )

I am also really pleased that EA are giving us little things to do inbetween events to liven up the game. Great stuff!

  12. Oh hiw I love the bright colorful trees. My forgotten krustyland needed something new. Maybe EA will be nice & add something for krustyland. Maybe itchy &. Scratchy land. Killer robots? I so want the steel Mill. However I’m running out of room. Not enough land or space in my inventory. 😞 if EA wants anymore of my hard working money please give us more land. My community looks like crap. Everything is too close together. I love this game so much that I can’t help but to buy any limited items. On a side note. I’m giving my friends notice if any don’t play within the next week. I will have to drop you. I understand life happens but many haven’t played in over a month. Player :rhewtty95

I’m a little concerned about some of my neighbors too. Have you been getting that gremlin/mutant noise on visits? I have at least three neighbors who have that when I visit!

    • About 1/2 of my friends have not played in months. I know my hubby & daughter both dropped the game during the Twillegar event. (Yes, I know I spelled that wrong. Lol) I think there was major burn-out. The recent levels have not been very exciting either. My husband started back up with Pride & the steel mill. It was great timing as he had crossed into the “all the good characters are used” mindset. A year ago he dropped his B & C freemium games. EA needs to really step things up I think. And we desperately need more land!!! After this event my town will have another nuclear meltdown as smushing stuff in everywhere has destroyed it. 🙁

  13. Love the quest line. Think it sums up the mixed opinions on it and tackles it well

  14. Love that the trees and flags are animated when tapped. The show episode featuring the steel mill is in my top 5 best episodes ever ranking. It was a no brainer to get this one! “Hot stuff, coming through!”

  15. I love the trees, I bought a bunch for my krustyland and put up some flagpoles in krustyland too. The colourfulness looks great in krustyland and adds a bit more to it. I also got roscoe and the steel mill, I was gonna wait for the should I buy but I wanted it and if the should I buy’s have taught me anything it is that you encourage us to buy the things that we want and only tell us what you would or wouldn’t buy. I love this site

  16. Love this event!! Finally got two-Nicorn and the steel mill has a fun quest line

  17. 4kidsandacatdog

This questline is funny, and happily much less controversial than I think some people expected.

  18. I am SO loving this so far. The dialogue is hilarious & the decorations are so vibrant. The trees remind me of candy ^____^

  19. I love the event.

  20. Didn’t even wait for a should I buy, I bought Roscoe and the steel mill as soon as it popped up, lol. I regret nothing!

  21. If they called this Divercity Month/Week to start we may not have had the controversy of yesterday. But does this conclude that we will not be seeing any new characters or buildings or items this Week?

    • No I think this is it.

      • Wow.. So a lot of rainbow smoke but no flamboyant fire (that might sound wrong..) so EA just got a lot of hopes up just to let us down while losing less tolerant players in the process… Not even Lindsey Nagel to support diversity.. I feel like my pink elephant balloon just popped in my face. 🙁

    • Someone stole my burrito™

It’s possible EA is testing the waters before introducing more gay characters.

  22. So the month is only going to last a week? Or is they going to be different items every week in the month?

  23. I’ll be sitting this one out. Zero interest.

  24. I’m very happy for the opportunity to celebrate rainbows in June and the return of the Twonicorn. It’s something fun and different for Tapped Out.

  25. sooo fun 🙂 I looove the trees!

will you post a should-I-buy for Roscoe? I really want him, but I’d like your advice 🙂

  26. Funny! 🕧

  27. I am looking forward to this nice, short and somewhat funny quest. It is so nice to have some like this after the “squash the clones” mess.I was a little worried at first when I saw another special event pop up, but this one does not see to bad!

    Thank you!

  28. It does help settle down emotions and does not fully play into one exact segment of the population. It made me feel better about this update that they recognize that people are hypocritical when talking about awareness/tolerance/equality

  29. Grampa: National Hip Replacement Month! Better yet, National Hip Replacement Month!

I thought “Oh, do they know they put that twi–oh. DUH.”

  30. Very funny and nice decorations. I bought 20 trees 😀
