Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
There are loads of characters in TSTO, right around 207 204 (just recounted and made a list, I get 204 from the character collection list. Including NPCs, but NOT including skins. 204 characters, 58 of those are NPCs) at the time of this posting. And while many have individual tasks, there are a few that enjoy social interaction and have tasks with other characters. These are called dual or joint tasks.
Joint tasks require both characters to be free in order to set them on the task, which is why sometimes you’ll see them locked out (usually that means the other required character is not available). Joint tasks also pay more than if the character performed the task on their own, because you’re sending two characters to complete one task.
We’ve had numerous requests for a list of all of the joint tasks in TSTO, and now that we have some downtime we can put together a list for you guys. So here’s a list of the joint tasks in TSTO…
Updated to add a few missing characters and indicate if the task is visual or not.

Now I realize it’s entirely possible that I may have missed some…with over 200 characters & tasks constantly changing it’s hard to keep it all straight sometimes. So if you see any tasks missing from this list that you know of please feel free to mention them in the comments below & I’ll add them to the post.
So there you have it my tapping friends…a list of all of the joint character tasks in TSTO!
What are your thoughts on the joint character tasks? Any tasks that are your favorite? Any you hate doing? Any you didn’t realize before? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

207 includes NPC you say.
Do you have a rough idea how many are playable?
I’d guess around the 160 mark.
I’m around 130 just now and have all I could have, pretty much from Decemeber ’14, bar the the three newest level freemiums due to the cost and rather spending currency on other stuff which won’t change price first (as well as those events going on)
Excellent work again and thanks for all the info you provide!
Offhand, no. I just quickly counted up the characters in the collections
My excel sheet shows 226 playable, NPC, and skins listed in the collections. That seems low to me, as I think there are more skins than the 19 that would be to go with the 207. I grouped NPC and skins together, and they total 80 count in my table. That would result in 146 playable characters, if my count is correct. I need to review my list, and split the skins from the NPCs; I thought it was up to date, but now I’m doubting it.
Just went through character collections again…i get 204 characters total (not including skins). 58 of those are NPCs.
Thanks Alissa! I went through my table and found 23 skins. 204+23=227, just one off from my 226 total count. And knowing me, I’m probably off. But the numbers add up close enough for me to guess that 146 playable characters is pretty close: plus/miss one or two anyway.
🙂
“Do you have a rough idea how many are playable?”
I can’t believe how long it takes me to to tap every character every day !!!
Nice work, guys!
Out of the 146, I have 131 (So sad that I missed the 1-day Shauna sale. Any idea when she might come back?). I’m trying to figure out what I have left. I’ve got all the premium characters that are NOT limited time, and many of the limited time characters. My guess is that the remaining ones are from events that appear. I know I’m missing Kodos, Shauna, Washington, Lincoln, Rex Banner, and Maude Flanders. Is there a list somewhere that features limited time characters that have appeared in the game?
We’ve got a list on the site here
http://tstoaddicts.com/characters/
But it was last updated in January. So it’s missing ones from this year. It’s on my list to update if no update hits…
I love the joint tasks and their crazy animations, even though sometimes when I got quest task to do with a character I accidentally let another character claim their freedom for a time. My gripes are with Stampy, Jub-Jub, and Mr. Teeny. I love that these are playable characters, but wish they had more tasks, joint or solo.
On an unrelated note, I’m very excited to report that I just finished Money Mountain! It took a while without speeding it up. I love Monty Moneybags!
Nice!
Sorry to be a nitpicker, but Barbarian & Homer’s Drink Out of Enemy’s Skull task is only 1 hour.
fixed
I love the visual paired tasks. They have some of the best visuals
I commented on a couple of things, but I forgot to mention the most important- THANKS!!! Great list, Alissa!!! 😀
🙂
Thank you so much for this list! 🙂
May I correct one little detail: although Lisa’s 8-hour task is to “Babysit Rod and Todd”, it just requires one of them (I think it’s Rod). But again, thank you!
Awesome list! I think King Winter has a short task with Ms.Hoover, too.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of the dual tasks as it is. They can be fun to watch, but it’s annoying trying to use them when it’s only on one character’s task list. By the time I find the task, I’ve usually already sent the other character in a different task…
Ah i’ll have to check and see..
Added 🙂
I checked. It’s “Go on a Date” . It’s with Miss Hoover and it’s $175 and 43XP, non-visual.
Also, do you have a list of all the characters? I’m trying to check my numbers with yours and they never match up.
I just counted from the character collections
You’re too fast for me! 🙂
I see where the problem is, some of the characters in the collections are really just costumes or non playing characters. But it still doesn’t seem to match up no matter how I do it. 😀
I didn’t count the skins….just characters and NPCs
For those asking, I just counted and I came up with 146 unique characters with tasks. This includes the animals with only 1 or 2 tasks (like JubJub and the Mutant Rabbit) but does not include skins or the Clash of Clones characters (which I don’t have but assumed are just skins). Adjust if needed.
Nice! I just counted my population too. I’m up to 131 PLAYABLE characters (I have a few NPCs as well, but they don’t show up in town hall). Dang. I really wish I had signed in over the weekend. I had no idea Shauna was going to be available and only for a day 🙁 I’ve been wanting her for a while since she’s the last of the “Toughies” before I complete the collection.
I have a task with Spider Pig and Homer
Yup it’s on the list, listed as Plopper.
That’s funny you post this because I just started to send my peeps on joint tasks. I kinda figured Homer paired with someone was the most common, but I’ll forget and task Homer or some of the other main characters first and then as I cycled through the rest of the characters, I can’t joint task them! But that is my cross to bare. Thanks for the info!
Any word on more land development.
Nope nothing new
Frankly I tend to hate them and consider “character interaction” a con rather than a pro.
The visual ones are fun to watch, but it irritates me that they don’t show up on both characters lists (typically) so you may have sent the other character off unless you store the character to move then later in the list.
Plus normally it gives you the same reward if both characters had individual tasks, but ignores that often one character has a premium costume that would pay higher.
And too many depend on Homer. I can’t send Hugs and Maude on 8 hour tasks because both require Homer.
Since I got no feedback in the Monroe Post, My question was – is it Tuesdays or Wednesdays that EA brings in new content typically?
Usually Wednesdays…
http://tstoaddicts.com/2014/03/19/tapped-out-up-dates/
Great job, thanks. Time for me to Excel-ize it and pick out the ones I struggle to remember.
I started off doing 1hr tasks, so learned them pretty quickly, then the 4hr and 8hr ones got sussed too – now I’m no longer an idle layabout I need to learn those tricksy 20h and 24h ones 😉
Pretty obscure, but I think Suzanne the Witch has a 12 hour task where she zaps Homer.
Sorry–my internet is so slow today that this has already been mentioned while I was posting it! These Addicts are sharp!
Wow, I never realized there were so many characters
Ooh, there’s also the task invade homer’s dream with stupid sexy Flanders which is 4hrs. Suzzane the Wicked cast evil spells on homer for 12 hrs (I think). And number 902 homer get paddled with stonecutter Jasper for 16 hrs
All are now added 🙂
if I did not overread you missed Suzanne the witch and her evil spells with Homer 😀 #nerdalarm
I really like the joint tasks, the “Dino Ride” and “Give Joe an earful” are my favorites :-))
Added 🙂
Did I miss it on the list? The obvious one of Burns riding the blue hair lawyer?
Yup, it’s on there. Dino Ride.
Awesome job Queen Alissa!
I often wonder when I see petty comments, if people realize how long it takes to put a list, plus other items, event calendars, etc together. I choose to show my gratitude for any and all help we receive from you, Bunny, & Wookie! PLAYING this game is much more fun with this site plus the info we receive here gives us help especially with special events. THANK YOU!
Thanks my friend 🙂
Great list and work. I think Barbarian and Homer “drink from skull” 1 hr task might be missing.
Yup, it was. Added it 🙂
There is Suzanne the witch & Homer–cast spells on Homer
Thanks right..i’ll add it. Thanks 🙂
You’re welcome
I think I may delete this game and find something more usefully to do with my time as there is nothing to do in this game when there is no event so this game has become pointless
Just a lull. They’ve been adding something each week, so we’ll see something this week.
This reply right here tells me I want to hold off on my neighbor visits until 3 AM. I thought updates were usually done on Tuesdays in the wee hours of the morning (US- central time zone here), but the last few have been Wednesdays in the wee hours, so I could have been mistaken. Stranger things have happened. 😉
I was actually popping on to see if there was any kerfuffle over the possibility of an update this week so I could decide whether to do my neighbor visits or not, and with the reply of “we’ll see something this week,” I’m definitely going to hold off. My neighbor clock ATM resets at 9 PM, so an extra 6 hours in case it’s an event requiring neighbor taps is no big deal. 🙂 Thanks, Alissa- hope you had a great time with the family this past weekend! 😀
Always a good time seeing all the munchkins together 🙂
I think EA is much better with keeping lulls to a minimum now than they had been last year. If I recall correctly, last year there was a long lull between the Stonecutter’s event and Clash of Clones with only the 4th of July mini-event in between maybe another one too, I can’t recall. Short lulls are good though to catch our breath in between events and perhaps tackle some re-design projects in our towns.
This was last summer’s release schedule:
Update #53: Released Tuesday 6.3.14, Stonecutters Update
-Update #54: Released Wednesday 6.18.14, Level 42 Update
-Update #55: Released Wednesday 7.2.14, 4th of July Update & Stonecutters Removal
-Update #56: Released Thursday 7.17.14, 2014 Yard Sale. Old items back for premium prices.
-Update #57: Released Wednesday 7.23.2014, Level 43 Update.
-Update #58: Released Tuesday 8.19.2014, Clash of Clones Event Update
Was update 56 the one in which they offered Otto at a great discount? If so, then that helps me pinpoint when I started playing, because that was within a few days of that. (I was SO frustrated that I hadn’t earned anywhere near enough donuts to get him, and I think that’s partially why I fixated on wanting him for my first premium item when I finally did amass enough.) But I don’t remember any other items on sale, so maybe his offer was a separate, later one? I know I was around for CoC, and if Level 43 introduced Princess Penelope, I believe I was already playing then, as well (although I didn’t build my Krustyland until much later).
Nope. That was in August.
http://tstoaddicts.com/2014/08/13/minor-in-game-update/
I don’t usually put Gil deals on the update list because they’re usually just discount deals. If it’s new stuff I add it. I put the yard sale on though because it was a bigger event…lasted longer than your typical Gil Deal
Thanks, Alissa – that makes sense. I always thought I started playing in August, so I was surprised when I so your list and thought maybe it had been in July.
Minor point, you earn what you would earn from the characters each doing their individual task of the same time length. Example: Lisa + Rod + Todd (baby sit) = $825 & 210XP = 3 * normal 8 hr task ($275 & 70XP). So the good things about dual character tasks are: it usually adds a task time length the characters don’t have (but not in the above example if you include Cool Lisa’s 8 hr task), and it’s slightly easier/quicker to set one dual character task vs multiple tasks for multiple characters. Oh, and some of the best animations are dual character tasks. 🙂
Krusty walk Mr Teenie, RIP 🙈
Um…I still have the task: “Krusty walk Mr. Teenie”. Am I the only one?
No i have it too…that’s why it’s on the list.
Wow thats a lot! Great job!
I dont think all of them are visible, can you add a column: Visible Si / No?
lol ummmm…maybe in the future. Right now I’m good with it like this 😉
Maude’s “Chat with Ned” required Homer as well last time I tried it. Once Maude is done haunting I can check again, because I might be wrong.
I think it’s just Ned now, but i’ll double check.
You’re right it is. I had only remembered from between Supers and Terwilliger that Homer was doing something and I couldn’t get them to chat.
Wow what an awesome list! I know from the characters I have that the tasks are visual but are they all outdoors?
I love sending characters out together regardless of money or timers : )
You’re killing me smalls…lol
Not all are visual, but most are.
Good movie!
Woot! You got my reference! 🙂
LOL, glad I’m not the only one who says that!! 😉
I love dual character tasks, I just wish the task would show up in the job lists for each character. Sometimes they do, but more often they do not. Rex Banner and Flanders is one of favorites.
I would love it if EA would fix it that all the dual tasks showed for both characters. I often miss those tasks because the one character that doesn’t show that task seems to always show up first before the other character when I’m sending everyone off to work.
Exactly! That’s why I want joint (dual) tasks to be on each character’s job list.
207 characters? Does that include skins?
Not that’s just characters. (both playable and NPCs)
207 characters wow, I have been playing for about a year and a half and have 90 characters, although mostly freemium, not bad really
