We certainly didn’t think EA would forget about Independence Day in Springfield but honestly, I thought this would hit tomorrow (Wednesday)…so my apologies this is a bit late. Was settled in for the night watching USA soccer!
Anywho…we’ve got ourselves a little 4th of July update, inside Tap Ball!
As always we’ll be back with more info once we go through it, but for now know that it should auto-start for you with some dialogue from Homer…
As it says above, once you start up your game you’ll see some dialogue from Homer. This starts the Monetization Liberation questline. (we’ll cover this in full in a turbo tap post tomorrow)….

Homer: Yes, but, see, I put this heavy can of gasoline on top of the box, so that if any ka-booms happened, the explodey parts wouldn’t be able to get out. Safe!

Lisa: You had to think about that a long time.
Homer: I did. Anyway, time to “inspect” some of these little guys in the backyard! Ka-boom!

Lisa: Well, uh…kinda.
Nixon: AND ALL BLAME FOR THE SCANDAL THAT ENDED MY PRESIDENCY RESTS ON DICK NIXON’S SHOULDERS?
Lisa: Pretty much.
Nixon: Then the plan worked. And America is safe. That God Almighty for that.
Lisa: Wait…plan? What plan?
Nixon: DICK NIXON HAS SAID TOO MUCH! DICK NIXON WILL SAY NO MORE!

There isn’t .much Freemiums for long time Tappers (like me) to purchase for the 4th of July this time ( I honestly wasn’t expecting EA to do anything this year) …
There is a clever Presodent Nixon / Building (its new, if you got enough Donuts? go for it! I would if I had the free space (lol) …
I feel sorry for new Tappers having to spend Donuts on past Freemiums (not fair to them, EA), so decide for yourself what is worth spending Donuts on (I don’t think it’s fair you have to do so) ….
Now back to Tap Ball 😉
So nothing happens after Homer’s 4h task, and that’s the end of the quest line? I’ll wait until Tap Ball is over. Love the new Red, White, and Blue fireworks. Weird how on one side of the box the colors are brighter than the other when rotating it.

Is Nixon voiced?
Honestly since it hit so late last night I didn’t even test it. My guess is no, except for maybe some grunts like Lincoln. But I’ll check it out and it’ll be on the SIB post.
He is voiced. Just had a second to test it.
YES! Nighthawk diner! I’ve been wanting that since I started playing (back during Clash of Clones). I’m so happy to finally have it in my town.
I went a little crazy and ended up spending most of my donuts but I now have a nice little presidential block.
The Nighthawk Diner was my most coveted item, so I’m incredibly happy this morning. Now it’s witch Marge from Halloween and the Spruce Caboose.
I didn’t hesitate on Lincoln and Washington; hemmed and hawed a bit on Nixon but enjoy him on Futurama and have recently been wanting a nicer hotel than the Sleep EZ so I went for it and am glad I did. Probably going to get everything except the Hover-Copter. I like the look of Giuseppe’s workshop but am completely blanking on his appearance in the show.

Ahhhh! I want all the things! Glad I held off buying Tapped Ball items. Without a doubt I’m getting Washington, Lincoln and the Nighthawk Diner. Also really love the look of the Scandel-gate hotel. I think I’ve enjoyed the rereleased and mini event items more than anything offered in the 3 events I’ve played (with the exception of Plopper…he’s the best!)
The last week or so my game has a glitch where every night one corner of my town has all of the animations set off for about an hour. Anyway, I just finished writing USA with the fireworks boxes and was pretty pleased with how wonderfully patriotic it looked. Then magic hour hit and the fireworks all simultaneously started shooting off!!! It was spectacular!
I just had to buy Nixon. Reminds me of Futurama all favourite Earth president head (in fact having possibility to have him as head in jar plus robot body makes me laugh, not to mention biggest Earth hero Zapp). Rest of the stuff – nah.
The Prez Estate is probably the 1st building we should absolutely be able to turn 180°.. I know Wook is probably already typing up a WDTCF, so I’ll let his post do the explaining..
Yay! excited to have fireworks available for purchase for in game currency this year.. if memory serves last year fireworks were only available to purchase with donuts.
Question what is the difference between the 4th of July American flag for cash. And the tap ball American flag for doughnuts.

It’s the base on the July 4th one different, too? It’s so ugly! I was going to put some flags behind my tap ball stadium, but that ugly stand was sticking out too much and looking so terrible!

Glad I held back on Powers House, Duff woman, Football Nelson, etc. because I just dumped 385 donuts on Abe’s Cabin, Scandal-gate Hotel, and Presidential Estate. They’re sweet!
Is it my imagination, or is 30 donuts to turn a freemium character premium a pretty good return? All-American Apu is the only premium item in the bunch I’m really tempted by… I mean, purely in terms of game economics, it probably isn’t as good as getting another Jet Engine Bike, but… Also, is there any significant possibility that having that skin could come in handy for a future event or something (without it also being offered during the same event, like they did with gymnastics Lisa?
Oooh, wait – just saw the Nighthawk Diner….need to give that one some thought, too…such an incredibly low price for a building/character combo!
Consider the $ payout and it’s a no-brainer, get it.
Sandra: Rex has a fantastic animation with Ned during their joint 8h “Interrogate Flanders” task. Once Tap Ball is done and Ned isn’t needed to generate event currency, you can stick those two on that task repeatedly. I know I will.
If you have the donuts, there’s no reason not to get Rex/Nighthawk Diner. It’s a bargain.

I’ve put Apu in his all-American skin during Halloween. I like to have as many characters as possible in a costume (or skin that could pass as a costume) during my favorite holiday!
Got some decor…Lincoln Memorial, Liberty Bell, some flags and a box of fire works (cash option one). Now to create a little park in town. Good thing I did’t buy any land today. I would have been really short on cash after my little spending spree. At least it will only take a couple of days to recoup the cash spent. Not fair that Homer has a 4th of July task when he also is used to earn event resources – one of only a few that can.
All of this is an easy pass for me…I’m not American, so I don’t feel the need for patriotic stuff. I do want to see the dialogue when you buy Nixon though! I might have sprung for George HW Bush and his house with a Two Bad Neighbours sign though, if it had been that instead of Nixon
Yeah me too. Canadian so I kinda don’t care, but I do love history and the characters are amusing. Rex is a must, but the presidents are gonna be a last-second decision for me
Haven’t bought any of the presidents and I am an avid premium player. I really want Nixon but only have 55 donuts and I won’t be putting on money anytime soon. I’ve spent a lot on this game, I’m gonna take a break from premium purchases.
I really hope that there are more in-game cash items that will be avaiable as you go through the quest line. Because a box a fireworks better not be it…I’ll be soooo disappointed. I stopped playing premium months ago.
So far same as previous 4th of July releases. Flags and Fireworks… the other items will depend on what YOU already have. Like Liberty Bell and Lincoln Monument.

EA is mean! I don’t really want to buy the deal, but I want to know what happens in the “story”! Lol!

I only went for it due to I LOVE the way the Scandal-gate building looks. No worries, we will have more details on them coming. It is a late night release… so we will do all we can tonight. You got over a week to decide. 🙂
I’m glad that they came out with an update for 4th of July, I’ll definitely be getting Richard Nixon and maybe the presidential estate. I have to admit I was a little surprised that they put Nixon in the game, but I got Washington and Lincoln in my town, so I might as well collect the whole set.
OUUUU they also added purple to the rainbow trees!!!
Thanks for pointing that out. I was looking at my trees and freaking out a bit because somehow the right tip stood out more than normal. Honestly, I was happy when it wasn’t included as I appreciated the more subtle look. At least test the change out, EA, because now the moving grid jumps out a block or two but when not in build mode it’s normal. Ugh.
Agreed! I loved the trees; now they look a little off to me. The blue and purple look like a puff ball attached to the tree. Got a bit frisked out when it seemed that it moved a block when I rotated the tree. Thankfully, it moved back when I finished.
Create your own fireworks show!!!! Buy and place multiple boxes of fireworks together and tap them fast, it’s so fun 🙂 For best results turn game sound up and place them away from buildings and anything else you might accidentally click on so you don’t spend your precious donuts
Oh god..I can’t believe they put out American flags for 5 donuts a few days ago and now they’re offering them for in game cash..I didn’t buy either of them but it seems kinda under-handed of them. But otherwise nice little update! I plan on buying a bunch of patriotic fireworks, they look great in my sport/recreation area 😊
These are a repeat of previous 4th of July’s. They will NOT be the same as the donut ones. The Coin ones are HUGE in comparison.
I can’t believe it’s that time of the year again. It feels like we were just celebrating the 4th in our games not too long ago. All the “new” stuff I added then is now a year old (in my game) already. Wookiee convinced me to get Lincoln and Washington back then and I haven’t regretted it. Though now Nixon is going to be a tough sell. I would had rather it been the Nixon “head in a jar” from Futurama. The Watergate Hotel too… I don’t know. I’m going to wait and see what TSTO Addicts have to say about it all first.
