Some new items were adding to our stores for Springfield Heights this morning (as well as last week’s premium items leaving…). So let’s take a look at these new goodies..both freemium and premium.

Plastic Surgery Center- 80 Donuts. Earns $55, 5xp/hr. 4×8 in size. +2.25 Million when purchased.
We will have Should I Buys up for both new premium items this week…

Loving “Da Heights”, lots of fun. I don’t think I have had this much fun grinding out resources. Not to sound ungrateful, but is there anything on the horizon, event wise?
Wow! For that amount of Donuts? Those Premium Buildings should be worth more Real Estate Value (am I right?) 😉
I haven’t seen this bug mentioned yet, but maybe I’ve missed it… After I built them all, Springfield Heights buildings seem to be disappearing from my inventory, and I’ll be able to craft another one. I haven’t kept track of whether my real estate value drops when the building disappears. Has anyone else experienced this?
It’s happening to a few players. They’re saying the real estate value doesn’t drop…so a good glitch.
Ah, so I’m *not* going crazy! (Well…) I bought all 10 Classic Mansions as fast as I could when the game started, and wound up storing one. Yesterday I went to get it, and it was not in inventory…but was available for purchase. Hmm,,,
I like the new items, a little overpriced. I tought we could have some new content like a little event or something bigger than only some new items !
I was wondering if players will be able to go to the health spa and surgury center as tasks? Otherwise they are nice to have and collect revenue. Ty.

I just noticed that Homer has a task that is to surf the net. He actually surfs the tennis court net. It’s a nice graphic. Has it always been there?

I don’t particulary like this update so far I have to admit.
it required a lot of work, with those small tasks… they are only killing the battery of my cellphone, I give up after a 10 minutes session and I don’t feel returning to my Springfield as I usually do.
It’s kinda lame!
Plus my city lags a lot, and I lost my donuts a couple of days ago (I don’t want to contact EA because last year I had a big issue and they were AWFUL, bad bad customer care, so I decided to go freemium because they don’t deserve my money) =______=;
And this night… the final touch… I’m logged in my city but it can’t connect… when I try to reach it the game reset itself at level one.
I’m really thinking of quitting this time, it’s so frustrating!
If you have an origin account all you have to do when it resets to lol 1 is just put it back in and log in and you’re town will be back. It’s stupid but it’s happened to me before. That’s why I made sure I took the time to make an origin account. As for the doughnut thing I’m sure they’ll give me back. As for the lagging thing or bad connect that’s on you’re device and Internet connection.
My stats as follows high speed cable and a iPad 4 no issues as follows.
The reset to lol 1 use to happen on my I pod series 2-3 not with 4 or 5. So it is a known issue on some other devices. Hope any of this helped.
I’ve got an account (I talked about being logged in it 😛 ) but it didn’t help at all. I had to reinstall the game.
And I’m still donuts-less because of stupid EA U_U
If you’re not going to try to resolve the issue with customer service, there’s really nothing anyone can do to help you. They have the ability to put the donuts back in your game etc…but if you don’t want to deal with them that’s on you. Just like if the bank makes an error and your bank account is short money. You’re going to be all over the bank to correct their mistake…it’s the same principle. You’ve got to stay on top of them to correct the mistake, can’t assume it’s just going to fix itself.
The problem was this: last year I wasn’t able to log in my game. I wrote to them several times… I had to wait like 10 emails (in a span of 3 weeks, I’m not a stalker and I’ve got a life!) in order to have a single reply.
That reply was awful… they requested my mayern id despite the fact I couldn’t log in the game and get it.
I explained the problem and they… ignored me and requested that id again.
After some time I was able to get it but I coudn’t reach that damn customer care (the website keep expelling me every time I tried)…
So after a month and half they close my request “because we didn’t hear from you”.
I don’t have the time and the patience to be offended by them a second time, bad bad bad customer care.
(for the record: a friend of mine with an ios device tried to log in my game… after that I was able to gain my city back. Facepalm, EA, facepalm)
Sometimes they can be pretty bad. But if you get the chat or call option, you generally can get someone (even if you have to try a couple of times) who can help you.
Believe me I know their customer service can be bad…especially when they try to pretend they play the game too. And in all honesty have no idea what you’re talking about. Which generally ends up with them not being able to help because they have no idea what you’re talking about. BUT if you’re persistent and try again your problem will get resolved.
And yes..when you can’t get into your game usually logging in from another device does help

Oh yes. Nice and cool inside. And we have a programmable thermostat at home, so it’s always nice and cool when I get home from work.
Downside was yesterday our power went out at home sometime in the early afternoon. While I wasn’t home (thankfully!), it was so hot outside that the house got super hot. By the time the AC kicked back on and I got home it was still grossly hot in the house, as it didn’t have enough time to properly cool the house down. Thank goodness for fans!
Any chance you have the neat programmable thermostat called “The Nest”? That would make for additional dinner time conversational jokes!

I contacted EA and they had me square in 15 minutes. I also lost donuts, 15 of them after the update. It’s easier than I thought it was going to be. I had great EA response.
I do like the looks of the Health Spa, but yeah that price is crazy high. Maybe if it were closer to 50 donuts I’d be tempted.
I agree, I wanted my last donut purchase to last me until the TOH event, but after Tap Ball premium purchases Im pretty low and I’d rather have Herb and his mansion or Laura Powell than a bldg for an area that is filling up too fast anyway.
Is the spa even in the show? I would love for that to be a category in the SIB pro’s and con’s, if it’s Canon or not. Sometimes limited time items are gone before Wookie’s ‘Where did that come from?’ post. (Plus anxious and/or lazy) It’s kind of a big deal in my decision process

The other thing that seems to have come back with release of these items are the upgrading SH building tasks that were previously cleared when visited friend who had done the task already.
Hmmm so I visited some friends and when came back the tasks were auto-cleared again. Free money! 🙂

Any idea if we will be able to have the SH buildings that have been upgraded display at a lower level of upgrade, similar to the Radioactive Man Statue. I hate the idea that once you upgrade a building you can no longer see the previous design. Example: I would like to have my condos at different levels, but not see the annoying “upgrade” icon floating above it constantly. so of course that would mean I would upgrade them all to the maximum level, but then choose what state of upgrade I want them to display as. Get what I mean anybody?
Nope, can only show the level they’re on right now. So if they’re level 5 they’ll show level 5
YES! Exactly. I’m not upgrading everything because i like the look of the lower level things. Make it like the radioactive man statue for the condos, parking garage, and business center. Mansions are just fine.
I actually contacted EA with this suggestion and I was told that they talked to the game developers about it and they really appreciated my suggestion. So, I think they may implement it into the game. Everyone keeps saying they want the same thing.

Grampa is ticking me off! He’s always 30 seconds behind everyone else producing coffee. He wanders halfway up the road before coming back and starting the task. It’s really annoying me!
Its funny, because I have that problem with Otto. And thats even more annoying because he is premium.
If you wait the extra second for him to finish his end of task animation he’ll start up properly with the others. Same with Otto if you have him.
someone posted, and it seems to work, place a dead end stretch of road in front of the building in question. They will wander only to the end of the road.
I removed all the roads around the coffee shop. He still wanders around before starting his task. I guess senility does funny things to one’s brain lol.
Even waiting til he finishes then starting everyone on their tasks, he still wanders off so he’s always 30 seconds behind.
The trick is to just put *one* solitary square of road right next to the building. (You can even hide it on the back side so it’s not visible.) All the characters make a bee-line to it, then stay there a little while. So, grandpa will still make a run for it, but he doesn’t have far to go, and then runs right back. 😉
Wandering workers seem to be an iOS issue, as this doesn’t happen on Android.
Helpful Tip from EA Forums:
On iPad & iPhone, there is a pull-down screen that shows the date and other notifications. When characters decide to go walkabout, just swipe that window shade down and up and characters immediately are on task. Useful whenever you want someone to get directly across town or get to work.
I would like it more of the new decorations were useable on squidport. I wanted to set up an exclusive marina area in the water off the coast of SH, but the fancy fences wouldn’t go. The fancy lamppost does, so that’s something. I’ll keep experimenting.
It seems like the fancy stairs leading to the beach are no longer for sale in my game. I had already purchased 3 sets and went to buy more today and noticed that they are gone. Is this something that has happened to everyone or did I max out on the number that one can buy?
Still there in my game…and I’ve got 4 sets. They’re called Beach front Escalier.
Glad to say that the Beach Front Escalier are back in my store…not sure why they disappeared on me when the newest items were added on July 28th. I know that I triple and quadruple checked before posting here. Thanks a lot!
I’m *so* glad you asked this question, because I had never noticed you could buy these and I was wondering how they expected other homes to get down to the beach from that cliff! I don’t know how I missed those in the store!!
Always great to have a gate! I wish they’d make gates for all of the kinds of fences they have in the game….that’s something that’s been bugging me for ages.
I’d love to have the spa a very nice looking and fits right in to the SH aesthetic, but 150 donuts for just a building?!? No way!!
Is this really the first gate in the game?
I bought the gate and some fences. It’s pretty nice.
The fence from one of the easter events had a gate.
I bought about 40 of the purple Easter gates but…I think that’s actually it!
Not the first, but there are plenty of fences that don’t have any matching gates.
They seem to throw off the fit of the fence pieces though. I keep ending up with a half fence piece gap with no way to close it. Have to move everything around to fit in 1 more full size fence piece. Not fun.

Both buildings are a hard no for a freemium player. I was trying to scrape together enough pink sprinklies to get Disco Stu for the yoga mats, but I think I’m hitting the wall on my SH grinding today. I was pushing hard to max out one of each building, and then when I finished that, I realized that I was close to 200,000,000 RE. So I pushed to get Lake Springfield. I unlocked that this morning, and now I don’t see any goals that I want to chase. 500,000,000 RE just sounds like a miserable grind of upgrading the same buildings over and over. I think I’m going to buy all the land, decorate it in a way that pleases me, and then earn currency and upgrade buildings when I remember to check SH on my normal relaxed pace of play for this game.
That’s the right attitude.
I’m buying land (to form a square at a time) and then I’m going to focus on designing (which I haven’t done any so far since the expansion). SH upgrading will happen when it happens.
I agree. When this update first started I thought I would push to the lake. Then I saw it in Other Springfield and realized how small it was (a pond, really and I have a 2 acre one in my front yard so I can tell the difference) and decided that even 200M was more than I was willing to spend a lot of time working on. I’ll buy the land, and design SH like every old money city I have lived in (Mpls, Portland, KC, Fort Laud, Balto, Westchester, & Detroit) that doesn’t look like EA’s version of money. Friends we have living in 90210 don’t have houses and buildings that look like SH has…..
That sounds like my strategy as well. Unlock and utilize workers as soon as I can, purchase land for rough blockage of all I’m moving over (decorations largely stored until I’m ready for them), minimizing number of SH upgradable bldgs. (because I really dislike the look of house farming) until I can fully upgrade one and store it, which may not be the most efficient REV wise- but like our lovely moderators say- we each play our own way.

Both batches of SH premium buildings have been so expensive, it’s been an easy “no” for me. I’m just not interested in spending lots of donuts on just buildings (especially non-iconic ones from the show). Love the Fancy Gate though!

How many Plastic Surgery buildings does one town need? I have the generic one (pink) for free about a year back but this one is different. I’d say if it came with the Plastic Surgen (guy who made Handsome Moe and Bosomy Marge) than maybe, or Paris Texan. No character with a premium building = Pass.
I know, I thought it was a glitch. I was like I already have that, one’s enough. Then I noticed it was slightly different so I flushed down the doughnuts
I like the looks of the earlier Stomach Staple Center much better. In fact, it was one of the buildings I initially was going to move to SH, but then thinking about it plastic surgery is something that the elite of Springfield wouldn’t want out in the open and will keep it my healthcare corner next to the hospital in case something goes wrong. LOL
Can’t believe they added more premiums 😟 I was lusting over that day spa in other Springfield and totally thought it’d be added for crafting currency. 150 donuts is way too much for just a building for a freemium player.
I don’t know about you but I see “limited time” and all of a sudden I’m obsessed with trying to get that item before it’s gone! I’m such a sucker like that–but the day spa is so new and so fitting and the plastic surgery center is a MUST for SH… we’ll see… we’ll see.

Was about to ask you about those items because they have been in “Other Springfield” from the start. Looks like they release them bit by bit.
One question though: Do you think the limited time items will come back? Just now I am running rather low on Donuts…
Honestly I don’t know. It’s certainly possible for them to make a comeback, but probably not for a while.
Hopefully the next batch has some items bought using furniture and smart devices. Those are the two items I am constantly maxing out and would love some more things to spend them on.

What’s interesting is, for the statue and solar panel, when I tap the “info” star next to it in the store, both say 6,200,000 RE. Under the picture of the item, it says the smaller amount, so the info in the game menu is wrong. But it’d be fantastic if it was a glitch and we really got 6.2 million RE points for them! 😉
The 6,200,000 RE means your town needs to have at least 6.2mil real estate value in order to purchase.

Yea, as jvisman said, that area is a checkbox. It said you have to have level 30, with a check mark when you complete that, and that you have to have 6.2mil real estate value, with a check mark when you complete that. And at the bottom of that bubble it says “increases real estate value by __”
I’m interested in reading the “should I buy” posts because I think that the buildings are quite expensive just on their own. I really like the freemium items though and am happy to see the fancy gate added!
