Tiny Addict Baby Pool (New Contest Alert)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

As most of you know my husband and I are expecting our first child VERY soon (you can see the announcement about it here)…and way back when we announced that I was pregnant we promised you guys that we’d do a fun baby pool contest.  Well the time has come!  I’m about 3 weeks out from my due date so let’s see what you guys think the Tiny Addict will be!

Maggie & Bobo

This contest will be a little different than our usual ones, in that this one won’t be random.  Instead you guys will earn points based on what you guess.  The reader with the highest points is our big winner!  But everyone in the top 5 will win a prize! We’ll go over the points, prizes and rules below the fold…

And yes this contest is open to EVERYONE…even if you’re not in the US

Here’s the entry form…good luck!

If you’re having trouble viewing the form on the site, here’s the direct link for it.

Now let’s talk about how you win, what you can win & the official rules of winning…

Some Clues/Tips

Since you guys don’t get to see me on a regular basis I figured I’d give you some clues/tips to help you make your predictions.  If you see something not listed here and would like to ask a specific question (no I won’t answer the “is it a boy or a girl” question) feel free to do so in the comments.  I’ll try to be as open about answering them as possible…please be respectful and don’t get too carried away with the “old wives tales”.

-My current due date is November 9th.  However, my original due date was October 27th.  They pushed me back around week 12 and haven’t moved me since.  However, at our last 2 ultrasounds the baby was measuring 1-2 weeks ahead of the Nov. 9th date, depending on the part the measured (Head was 1 week, abdomen was 2 weeks, femur was just a couple of days).

-At last Ultrasound (which was this past Wednesday) they told me the baby was just over 6lbs.  However, those measurements have been known to be off by a pound (over or under).

-My husband and I were both born with blonde hair, both of us now have light to medium brown hair.

-My husband and I were both born with blue eyes.  His eyes are still blue, mine like to change between blue-gray-green…depending on the day.

-I was in the 6lb range when I as born.  My husband was over 8lbs.

-The doctor has told us that we’re in the lowest possible risk of needing a c-section because of the baby’s size.

-No weird/strange cravings after the first trimester.  During the first trimester I wanted vinegar and steak.  Oh and pickles.  I couldn’t eat melted cheese (like pizza cheese) or sweet stuff.  Now I eat what I usually eat.  Nothing really out there for me.

I think that about covers all of those basics.  Hopefully that helps you guys come up with some good guesses!

And that’s it my friends.  Good luck!

  1. You crazy Americans and your imperial measurements, and you have the cheek to kick out us Brits cause we did something useful with our Imperialism and built an Empire (note I said something useful and NOT something good – a bit like the imperial measurement system!)

    • Look up the history of the Rajahs of Sarawak. There is always a bright side somewhere.

    • Schillings, Pounds, Pence, Farthings….😇
      212 F vs. 100 C …….😝
      ???

    • Although I’ll admit that we probably should have gone metric in the U.S. when President Carter tried to do that, I’m okay with imperial measurement, but, with apologies to my U.K. friends here, the “stone” thing is just stupid. 😛 😉

  2. Question before I fill out the firm.

I usually predict based on seeing the mums so to help: Can you confirm if you have stayed relatively the same size during pregnancy apart from a baby bump which is carried (very roundly) at the front. Or do you think your body has become more ‘swollen’ and have generally increased in size in other areas apart from the bump.

    🙂

  3. Since pretty much all babies are born with black hair that falls out within a few weeks, but may not be replaced for even a year (My daughter was bald for the longest time) and is often blond for years before gradually adopting its final colour, which can be dark, how exactly do you plan to judge hair colour?

    • And our daughter has beautiful hair that should take a curl should she want one, but is heavy enough to stay where it is put. So if the baby does not have perfect hair immediately, do not give up hope.

    • Doesnt work like that in our family. 2 of my nieces were born with bright red hair. 1 niece and 1 nephew were born worn blonde hair and 3 nephew’s and 1 niece were born with brown hair. And that’s right from birth…so that’s how they came out. And hubby and I were both born blondes.

  4. Such a fun post Alissa. I know my guess will make you way overdue, but am going to say near my birthday in November. 🙂 No matter what, may your child be eternally blessed with health, and an incredible amount of love and happiness in life!!!

  5. I totally made random guesses. Both my two were early and complete opposites in coloring and disposition. Wishing you a baby that sleeps well because I can tell you that the opposite is what I got and I’m still traumatized by that first year 6 years on.

  6. Oh, and it seems like baby wants to get here in time to experience the THOT event/episode

  7. I decided to play the best date in the world, my birthdate. Granted it’s ludacriously early (even earlier than your original due date), but I’m taking the wager that baby’s accelerated growth (with respect to the clues in the sonogram).

  8. Oh meant to ask Alissa, I’m not a huge baseball fan by any stretch, but by default I am a Jays fan since they’re our only team! Did you happen to watch our Game 5?! CRAZY 7th inning to say the least!

    • You don’t want my opinion on it. Lol yes it was insane. But what the fans did and blue jays players did is completely disgusting in my mind. That’s not what baseball is about…no matter how annoyed you are.

      • Oh ya I agree with the throwing of beer and things, that was totally uncalled for. And I didn’t see what the big deal was about the infamous batflip until my bf explained that people don’t do things like that in baseball, as opposed to say football where they dance and jump around after every single play lol.

        • Well in football you get penalized for excessive celebration now. It wasn’t a flip it was the standing and admiring it. I have no problem with celebrating but do it after you cross the plate and actually score the run. Until you cross the plate you haven’t done anything.
But for me that’s not what the players did that disgusted me. It was the excessive cursing and flipping out about the throw back. And they just didn’t let it go. They’re lucky more players didn’t get tossed. Just uncalled for imo

      • I was at that game. Not a beer was drank or thrown on my part so don’t paint us all. Quite a circus to have been a part of.

      • Oh see I didn’t see that part where the guy got hit by the ball or something, only started watching when the bases got loaded. We’re just too riled up because we haven’t won in 22 years! Lol.

  9. Yay for 2015 babies! My little one was born in January!

How many brothers/sisters does your husband have? How many brothers/sisters does your husband’s dad have?

  10. Kim (kimberlyah794)

Entered. It’s a fun contest, but I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing you and your little bundle of joy all the best and that all goes smoothly. Much love to you and yours. (My sister is due 2 days before you, too. It’d be funny if you delivered on the same day!)

  11. Having your due date so close to my child’s 14th birthday I went with all her stats except the year! Wouldn’t want you to give birth to a 14 year old! My original due date was one day after your original due date.

  12. What phase was the moon in when you found out? Was it AM or PM the first time you ate a fruit during the pregnancy and which trimester were you in the first time it rained?

  13. I saw a little patch go into the game and I then checked what was up (here), saw the picture of Maggie and freaked out (didn’t read the heading but briefly saw some of the words and letters) Thought it said “Tiny Update, Baby Pool (as if a decoration of a baby-pool with Maggie) New Content Alert” and then I read into it more…

As usual (like most contests) I’ll sit this one out, letting people have a fighting chance :p

Good Luck to all that participate and Alissa, all the best wishes. Whatever the Baby’s Gender I hope it is a happy and healthy Tot 😉

  14. What joy you have to look forward to…
Little one’s baby legs fall off.
    Baby’s first fang.
    Baby’s first intergalactic transmission.
    First crawl on the ceiling.
    Husband meets Kang….awkward!
Hee hee, hope it’s all trouble free.

  15. Best of luck Alissa! I hope everything goes well for you. I put my entry in for a Halloween baby 😉

  16. Both my hubby and I were blondies as kids (he still is). Our daughter was born with brown hair which is now blonde. So remember to take a first photo as proof!
Wishing you a painless and speedy labour. My only advice is get help when you need it, and about anything: Uncontrolled crying (yay for colic), breastfeeding (it’s surprisingly fraught with difficulty) or anything else that worries you. From one first time mum to another, mwah!

  17. I wish you all the best and a smooth delivery. Blessings to both parents to be and to the baby to come. 👍💐

  18. How tall are you and your husband?

  19. succes on labor day alissa i hope its a fast one and painless and that its a strong and healthy baby 🙂

  20. So can’t ask boy or girl of course but will you at least let us know if you’re expecting a brainiac, pessimist, saint or a kook etc? 😄

  21. Marion (AnothrAddict)

Hi Mama! Did it go as quick for you as it did for me? Haha. Just seems like yesterday you announced the new addition to the Tsto family.
Question: How tall are you and your hubbie?
Lots of well wishes your and your hubbie’s way,
    Marion (AnothrAddict)

  22. Good luck and have a healthy baby Bart or Maggie 🙂

  23. Can we win if we won the previous keychain/Homer buddah contest?

  24. Wishing you a short labor, swift pain free as possible delivery and a healthy and happy baby. And I think every pregnant woman gets subjected to those horror stories. I don’t know why people down that.

  25. Can we get previous history? How many other children do you have? Gender? Weight (when born obviously)? Stuff like that, thanks!
And cool contest. Thanks for doing it.

  26. My votes are in……do you know what you’re having? I know you won’t give answer here just curious if you guys know or are waiting for the birth 🙂

  27. Having a baby goes to show sometimes things coming out does hurt more than when going in.

I got my predictions. Is there going to be a big list of everyone who submitted. Ie Springfield Heights Leader board.

Honest though, isn’t having the kid going to put a damper on how much you can actually play & do this site and Family Guy?

    • Full list will just depend on my mood/time after the baby is born.

As far as the sites…I don’t really do much on FG right now and haven’t since I found out I was pregnant. As far as here…we’ll just have to wait and see what I get done…I can’t predict it.

  28. I’m an Addict family member so no participation for me. 🙁 However, I can’t wait to see the responses you get. Just hope your little Addict is not Wookiee size, he was a big one. LOL

  29. Not that it effects my guess since I already entered, but some might wonder if the baby is sitting high or low in your abdomen, could effect the boy/girl answer from what I understand.

    • Also, realized there was a missed opportunity for a question, although I’m aware you already know, but since we don’t, could be one, could be twins, could be triplets, heck you could be the next octomom 😀

    • Right now the baby is dropped low and head down…

      • Hmm so doing summersaults in your stomach, you are going to have an Olympian, there, I win 😀 Glad you responded though I didn’t want to have to Google “Is Alissa’s baby high (or low)” Could get some really weird responses lol

  30. You got my entry, make it happen Alissa!

    🙂

    Congrats again!
