Updated Info On Googolplex below
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
So….yesterday saw the end of TSTO Level updates. And then everyone’s games broke. (well not everyone, but you know what I mean..) A bit ironic, no?
Anyway, we’ve still got a TON of bugs going on in the game since yesterday (and I know some of you still have Wild West Bugs…) so here’s one handy place where we’re going to list them all….
For those who don’t like to read the whole post…
Here’s what we’ll breakdown:
-Missing Gil Deal
-Game Lockout (Bart screen/server down)
-Constant ingame Updates
-Not Enough Space to Download TSTO
-XP requirements changing
Oh and a quick note…seeing Longshot Skinner in your game BEFORE you unlock him as a prize is just a little glitch. He’ll go back to Skinner if you try to change his outfit. And you’ll still be able to unlock the prize when the time comes. This is seriously NOTHING to worry about…so don’t 🙂
–Missing Gil Deal:
The Gil Duff Gardens Deal is missing for a good chunk of you. I’ve got some quick tips for trying to get it back on this post. But for many of you that’s not working. So….many of you have reported this to EA already.
EA is aware of the Missing Gil Deal and they’re working on it. My hopes are that if they don’t fix it this morning they’ll extend the timer…
If you are impacted by this one, I still think you should contact EA and let them know. The more that report it the wider scope they have to investigate the issue.
Also, many of you are reporting that EA Reps are telling you wrong information about this. Not that I’m EA, or associated with EA, but I’m sorry. Some of the reps are either not trained properly, don’t know what to do if something isn’t in their script, are from overseas call/chat centers and are completely clueless (no matter what they say, they haven’t played TSTO) or they just lack common sense. I do know that EA has been working on training many of these reps…unfortunately if they lack common sense it’s hard to train them. My best suggestion…contact them again and try to get someone else. I know it’s frustrating….but when you get a good rep, it’s worth it.
Also…to EA (because I know you’re here reading this): Is it too much to ask for some reps who know what they’re talking about? Who don’t tell people they’re crazy when Gil disappears from their games. Seriously, some of these reps are so incredibly rude and disrespectful I’ve had players tell me they don’t want to play the game anymore. So can you please do something about this? Thank you. 🙂
-Game Lockout:
Yes, many of you are still locked out of your game. You’re on an endless loop of Bart Screens.
EA is aware and they’re working on a patch for this. Again I do still suggest contacting them…
Hopefully this is fixed soon, as I know it’s frustrating for many of you.
My suggestion if you’re still building Googolplex….don’t clear the checkmark yet. Wait until this is fixed. Because we’re seeing people locked out at Level 64, 73…all over the place.
Update: It’s safe to clear the Googolplex if you’re low in XP (and don’t use your collider). They drastically reduced the amount of XP awarded from the Googolplex..so when you clear it it won’t fill your bar (unless you’re close to filling it already). Now you’ll only get just over 18k xp for building it.
So if you’re low in the XP bar on Level 60, go ahead and clear it to build it. And then work on the rest of the Level 60 questline. 🙂
There’s no rush on Level 60…so just wait it out if you can still play. Since the Wild West Event is still timed and ends May 30th.
-What’s With All The In-Game Updates?:
They’re patches. EA’s trying to fix the problems so they’re sending patches through. Until everything is resolved there may be even more patches coming through…
-Not Enough Space To Download Update:
If you’re getting the Not Enough Space Message on your device…
Fully uninstall TSTO and then reinstall it.
ONLY Do This If You Have an EA/Origin Account
It’s not that this update is massive, it’s that the Wild West Update is huge. And when it downloads an in-game update it tries to add all of the space to your device again. So if you’ve been playing Wild West it’s likely you don’t need to free up more space, just fully uninstall and reinstall TSTO.
This problem should be gone once the Wild West Event is over, May 30th.
–Level Up XP Requirements Changed:
Last night a patch came through that increased the Level Up XP required for every level after 61. It went from 40k to 500k and up.
I believe this is how it was intended to be originally. And there was just something wrong in the coding that said 40k…
And I believe that wraps all of the latest on those bugs. We’ll try to update as we get more information….

It started out very understanding, and then, not that you’re wrong at all or anything, it, well, it made me laugh. Common sense is not trainable. lol. I’m still laughing. There really should be some way to teach that. But you’re right. haha. Thanks for the good laugh.

I think I’m back in. Lost some levels but not donuts. Learned a lesson!
My game is fixed at last.
All good for me (but I wasn’t one of the greedy ones trying to gorge on donuts).
Both my A and B towns have abot 500 donuts earn via normal activities for the past several month (THANKS EA !!! I do really appreciate it)
Pretty sure only one of my devices got the patch this AM
How are people getting the options to talk to EA? Everytime I register a bug it sends me their forum and I get ignored. Are people selecting something other than report a bug?

This may be an old issue, but I have an Android and recently updated my software to Marshmallow 6.0. Ever since the update, the normal zoom and aspect ratio on my Springfield is WAY too high. When I zoom out all the way it pretty much looks like it did on full zoom before the update. It’s really annoying bc I can only see my town one building at a time now and no way to zoom out enough to see a decent portion of it. It’s like I’m forced to play on full zoom now. Even the Itchy & Scratchy Scratcher screen is extremely larger.
I know Android users receive updates at different times, so some may have been experiencing this already. If so, has anyone figured out a fix for it. Or will there be a patch coming soon? It really limits the enjoyment I get out of the game now.
I paid for and started the Googleplex last night. Log in today and the building is gone, along with my money. The option to buy it again isn’t even in my menus. I have tried a total shut down and restart multiple times, but no luck. Still waiting on my EA help ticket. Just a heads up to others experiencing the same.
Ugh!!! I have had to download the Act 3 upload every time I log in for the last day and a half!! I have contacted EA…. But I am tempted to just sit out the rest of this event….
Hearing about others being locked out of their games and all the other glitches has my entire family terrified to even try to play our games. We are all at level 60 now and don’t try to rush the levels but still the same too scared to try lol.
I would just play.

Alright! I’m back in! I asked for a call and was told it was a known issue, etc, and to just keep trying. I played something else for a bit, had a cup of coffee, and now my town is loading just fine. Woohoo!
My googolplex was showing only 72500 XP awarded after the updates this morning. is this right?
It was 18k in my game

So, I had thought it was safe last night to click my theatre after the reports of them changing the levels….wrong…I got locked out…immediately contacted EA via online chat. He said he couldn’t fix my game because it was a known issue. So, I was patient like he told me to be and I am now back in my game. Hope everyone else is back in as well.
Btw everything is still there and my game did not get rolled back.
It may be coincidence, but after getting locked out of my A game again, I reinstalled, signed into my B game, finished the level 60 quest line, and was then able to sign into my A game with no problems. Finished level 60 on it and leveled up to 105 and no more problems. Again, I don’t know if EA finally fixed it for me or if finishing the quest on one game fixed the other, but may be worth a shot for some people.
No i think it has to do with finishing Level 60. As I mentioned in another post there are rewards triggered when you reach the higher levels…and you need to have completed Level 60 to get them. I believe that’s what’s causing a lot of this
I am level 57 and I bought duff gardens but there is no quest line. I got the costume but nothing happened. Please help
questline requirement is level 60. So once you reach level 60 the questline will start
ma game crashes everytime after i tapped 9 bandits from friends, always at 9.
also it crashes everytime i want to trade in currency at the General Store since this morning.
Hi team last nite I leveled up to level 60 was fine till about 10mins ago today got an in game update and was reverted to level 59 but my googolplex is still being built and Marge on 30min task why did this happen
have you found a solution? cause i have the same problem, back to level 59, but the Googolplex is built and now nothing is triggered, nothing happens.
So I was a little scared to click the check mark over the Gogolplex this morning, but I read the posts and went ahead and clicked it. Everything is fine. 🙂
I was one of the few who braved all of the level updates yesterday (with my XP Collider running), and I’m happy to report that all is well. I’m at level 939 (the highest level for now). My Collider is still running so when I clicked the check mark on the Gogolplex, I got three sets of level up doughnuts. I’m sorry for all of the players who are still experiencing issues. 🙁
Thanks for being my Guinea Pig 👌🏼 I finished building my theater after I read your post. No problem for me as well. Guess playing the game as it was allowed is being “greedy” according to some other people but I’m sure they have countless wailing walls and tennis courts also. Don’t really see the difference. I read countless comments of people being locked out without trying to donut farm which has nothing to do with us taking advantage of a loophole. Hi five Sillyboy 🖐 we killed it 👍
I’m with you two… I haven’t taken advantage of any glitches and have put so much into this game as a premium player and a completionist… I went for it it and I’m glad I did. I’m sorry for those who got locked out but I couldn’t really Tell you why I wasn’t. It just worked. My googleplex also gave me more do than reported, so maybe it’s my iOS update. Who knows. Cheers
Yea. We killed it. By the way….I’m one of those people with a ton of wailing walls and tennis courts. I always try to stay on top of things every time one of these glitches is revealed. I think that’s one of the best things about monitoring this blog all of the time. You learn a lot about the tips, tricks, and glitches.
I wish I’d been as brave as you. I did run it up until level 400 something before I chickened out. When I decided to throw caution to the wind this morning and keep farming, the XP had reset to the 500,000 so I still amassed almost 600 donuts (level 600 something….a kid’s got my ipad right now). I wish I had 2000 donuts like some people, but generally I’m happy. I bought the Gil deal for Duff Gardens, Prairie Maggie, and the mine. After that, I have approx. 215 donuts left. Not too shabby. All in all, I spent 28 mil for just under 600 donuts.
The XP level requirements in my game haven’t changed from 40,000 to level up. Currently at level 92. I have NOT built the Googleplex and am on the Declan Desmond tasks (level 55) currently. I finally started using the XP Collider last night with it running for 24 hours. I haven’t done neighbor visits since this started.
Should I stop playing until the Collider runs out? The only bug I’ve experienced is Sharpshooter Skinner showing up early.

The xp requirements will go up as you progress. I just found out that the levels cap at 939. After that, bonuts.

so here is the full run down of all the testing I have done in case it helps anyone else. I have access to 4 devices all able to run tsto
on all my devices if its the first time logging in on the device after being hit with the bug i can get in for about 10 seconds before it locks me out.
on my android devices I have tried force closing and clearing data again it gets me in for a few seconds then breaks again
just finished testing on my work IOS device which had not been updated for a while pulled down the latest tsto from the store same issue so it is definitely multi platform issue.
I never visited any friends during this whole issue so I dont think the friend visits have anything to do with the issues. for me the issue occurred when my game synced with the server it must have triggered something as once i got back into my game it died.
Can’t get any of the patches because it immediately goes to Bart. Guess I’m reinstalling. If that doesn’t work, guess I’m spending my day fighting through the nightmare of incompetence that is EA customer support.
Does someone have an idea why some people have 500k for the next level an some have 1.1M?

Well I thought things were working okay. Before the update I already had my collider running. So I was hesitant to do anything except work on Wild West and crafting for monorail parts. I was at level 63 but between the collider and the low 40k limit to level-up just about anything I did caused me to move up. But everything was fine. Last night the patch came through to raise the limit to 500k so I thought things were still okay. This morning my googolplex was ready and with the lowered xp I thought no problem. But as soon as I cleared the googolplex the level ups went wonky. I shot up 5 levels (but only 1 donut). And when I tried to log back into my game I noticed the level on the logon screen was much higher than what I had in game. And there it is – I am now locked out!
My suggestion is to just leave the game alone for a day or two. It is still messed up.
An update, it looks like the patch to fix the sync came through. I was able to get back in – they lowered the higher level that was showing on my login and now it matches the level inside the game. So everything looks stable. But I am going to stay out of Springfield proper and just stay in the Heights where my Wild West and crafting takes place. Or more likely, with week 2 showing up today for FGQFS I will ignore this game for a day or so.
It really sounds like the Googolplex is where the game was/is glitched. Which is sad for me because I never planned to build that (mostly) and I could have taken advantage of the blitch! 🙁
My game glitched before the Googolplex was done building. It seems that it was more about *anything* that gave out a fairly large amount of XP at once. (In my case, having sold the prison bus awhile back, I had to purchase it again to do the Level 97 task. Shortly after that was when my game crashed.)
Oh. Which is probably why they lowered the XP payout for the Googolplex so much.
I hope EA puts in a system message saying that it’s safe to TSTO again…
On the note of customer service reps not knowing about TSTO, I’ve found that because the Origin client is mainly used for PC and console games, any mobile games attached to it do not show, so the reps usually have no idea what you are talking about. I do not know why there is no crossover – especially when logging into your EA Origin through a browser – so no matter how you feel about customer service reps being bad, good, or insane idiots… take it a little easy on them. It is not fully their fault.
Even your purchase history on your account does not show any TSTO purchases, I assume since the purchases are run through the app store and not the client.
This game is entertaining and I enjoy playing it everyday! At level 60 and built the Googoplex. Playing on my Amazon Kindle Fire (quad core) and I have only experienced a couple simple glitches recently that eventually I am sure EA will have worked out. I hope that the announcement of the end of levels doesn’t mean the end of the game!
I went in, thinking things were safe (not the addicts fault!), clicked the Googolplex, and went from level 68 to 76. Still seeing 40k XP needed for the next level.
Think they are doing a slow rollout? Going to avoid visiting neighbors until EA gives the all-clear, just to be safe.

I haven’t had any problems. I’m on level 60. I never use my collider. I don’t use donuts to hurry the building process. Gil is still there. I’m just waiting for the should I buy article. Skinner was in his cowboy outfit, I just changed his outfit and sent him to Moe”s. I also saw the warning that was posted about leveling up. I didn’t level up. I have patience and I don’t have the need or want to do everything in a day. This is my favorite game and I don’t want to rush playing it. I want thank your whole crew for everything that y’all do. Y’all are fantastic!!!

So, just to be clear – I’m at lvl 487 with 447323/500000 XP. My Googolplex is ready, but it looks like I should not complete the build at this point?
At that point you can. It’ll only give you 18k XP and you need more than 50k to move up to the next level
Except I neglected to mention that my collider is still activated for another few hours.
Oh great, not only did I lose the 3 million XP I’d earned before the update and a 1 million-XP requirement for lvl 61, now I’m going to get a hugely decrased XP payout for the Googolplex.
Oh well, things could be a lot worse.
