Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Today is the day many of us have been waiting for since the Around the World Event started…it’s the day we get Uncle Norbert and FINALLY figure out how the heck to get the elusive Golden Train.
So since it’s Friday, and most of you will be getting this today, I thought I’d sneak in an extra post here about Uncle Norbert and the train so y’all know what you’ll be working with over the weekend.
And with that let’s take a look at unlocking Uncle Norbert, his questline, unlocking the Golden Train and Uncle Norbert’s tasks…
So let’s start at the very beginning and unlocking Uncle Norbert’s plane….
You’ll do this via the Norbert’s Daily Tasks, it will be your final prize (instead of the Lost Luggage) on Day 8. Once you complete the 3rd task of the day and unlock the plane you’ll see this message…
Once placed in your Springfield (it’s 6×12 in size and impacts Vanity +100) you’ll unlock Uncle Norbert:
And he’ll complete your Van Houten Character Collection:
So once you unlock Uncle Norbert you’ll begin the quest for the Golden Train (as if you haven’t been working on it for weeks already)…
So you’ll have to complete the questline for Uncle Norbert to get the train. Here’s a look at the questline:

Norbert starts
Norbert: The final step on my quest to find the Golden Train is a visit to an ancient hermit who lives high in the Himalayas.
Grampa: If you want to jaw with a senior, I can tell you where the Golden Train is right now. I won’t even ask for a hunk of licorice.

Grampa: That’s exactly what Amelia Earhart did to me. We was looking for a coral atoll to land on, and I said, “I ain’t payin’ no toll”…
Norbert: Aaargggh!
Grampa: Fine, Reverend Lovejoy’s got it. He collects trains, you know.
Norbert: Then perhaps I’d better whip him into shape. With my whip.

Lovejoy: So the Golden Train is valuable? Geez, I bought it online for like, five dollars.
Norbert: It is a sacred object from the dawn of mankind, with a history that surpasses our uttermost capacity for wonder and awe.
Lovejoy: What are you gonna do with it?
Norbert: Stick it in a parking lot and charge fifty cents to see it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some advertising to do.

Place the Golden Train
The Golden Train is 10×3 in size and impacts Vanity +100. The train is also animated when tapped…smoke comes out of the top and the wheels spin.
Once you’ve completed that questline you’ll also fully unlock Norbert’s tasks. Here’s a look at them now…
Uncle Norbert’s Permanent Tasks:

Search for Fossils will use one of those 3 buildings. If you have them. If you don’t have the Tar Pits it’ll go to the Retirement Castle, if you don’t have that then the Brown House.
Norbert’s Fly Loops task will take place using his Red Plane, and they did a great job with it. The plane will take off and land on the little runway strip it comes with…and then Norbert will fly across your screen.

Help! I was on the Adventure Tasks to unlock Norbert’s Plane, but when I went back into the game to collect the 750 pins, the game told me I had completed the tasks and restarted me with the 500 pins and Lost Luggage as the third task prize! I do not have Norbert and I don’t know what to do??
So, I went to bed last night while on the second task towards getting Norbert’s plane. I woke this morning and clicked on the airport and ready to start my last round. Score getting the plane. But alas, the plane is no longer showing as the prize?!?! Then to make things more confusing, the next quest had to do with round table in Europe and England was chicken and it said correct. Then Norbert popped up and said there’s a new quest for today? This quest has to do with a peace in North America – yet there aren’t any locations in North America?!?! Anyone else having this weird issue? I am so close to finishing a campaign for the first time in FOREVER and I want to succeed!
TBH, this is the first event in ages where I have actually got everything available besides premium buildings and decorations.. Great event! Got Norbert this morning, sent in my design, will get the Train later today, and Samba School maybe tomorrow. This hasn’t droned on, and it hasn’t gone too quick, wow Ea, well done!! 😀 I wonder whats next! 😊
I completed 7 luggages, i saw the red plane as a prize, and when I clicked to collect tasks it changed back to luggage and i couldn’t collect it, and it says prizes will change 2moro, have I missed my chance?
I was in the middle of getting the plane and my tasks rest and the plane is gone. Tasks started over this morning help

I didnt get it… does that mean i wont have him? I finished all my flights and had it but it disappeared on the next day. Does it mean i wont have him?
I didn’t get the plane in my A game or B game. I finished task 2 and it said all my tasks were done for the day and started counting towards the 7500. Has anyone else have this happen?

So I had one task left yesterday to complete norberts plane, logged in this morning and completed the tasks. No plane. It just reset the schedule and now the questions are mixed up and lost luggage has returned. No way to get the plane either. What do?
Found a fix. Just complete the new sets and you will still get the plane.
So was working on getting norberts plane, clicked on last task and game glitched, started all new day with no plane, no norbert, and says start new task at day 1 with pize going to be lost luggage? Where did plane go? What happened to golden train? Help?
Just completed all tasks and I did not get the plane. Anyone else have this problem?

I was on the plane task, when I went back to collect it did a weird reset and now has luggage instead of the plane and a count down to new items at the bottom in 24 hours?! I was 30 min. away from collecting the plane!
Was there a time limit to start this quest? I started on the three trips to get Norbert’s plane yesterday and when I’ve gone back on this morning, it’s switched to the prize being lost luggage. Hopefully it’ll sort itself out but I’ll be annoyed if I’ve missed out on Norbert’s and the golden train.
I saw the plane as my third task, but now it’s gone. Just after midnight it switched to 3 new tasks without the plane at the end. Will it come back? Is there something I have to do to see the plane?
I’m so bummed. I was 4 minutes away from getting the plane. I closed it out then opened it in 10 minutes and the plane was gone and replaced by a lost luggage quest. I’ve completed them all and now I don’t know if I’ll ever get it back. Grrrr
I had the same thing happen yesterday. I contacted support. After a 15 minute call the best course of action was to keep sending characters on flights and see if it sorts itself out. I was assured that support would add Norbert, the plane, and train after the event is over if it didn’t sort itself out. Luckily when I completed the task for lost luggage I got the plane and permanent Norbert. I was able to do the tasks to get the train. Support told me the Norbert active in the event is temp Norbert and if she added the permanent one and plane before the event was over it would “likely break the account” as they can only add items/characters and not delete them.
So I’m really looking forward to seeing what my neighbours do with the golden train as I’m lacking inspiration. It’s pretty large, so for now I’ve just plonked it outside my museum. No doubt I’ll move it once I check out design guru Ebron’s location (hurry up Ebron, we poachers are waiting😂).
Regarding Norbert, his tasks are cool and it’s great to have less often used other locations for some of his tasks. Unfortunately like Fairy K’s 8 hr task, Homer Santa’s 24hr job etc, if you accidentally touch the airborne plane whilst tapping you’ll be taken to the airstrip. It kept happening to me so I won’t bother with his 4 hour task. Lovely freebie tho. To make my event complete tho, all I need are some tourists permanently in my SF 😉 MASSIVE HINT EA. I fell behind on the trips. It might be a couple days before I unlock Norbert.

Don’t know how to post it but I’ve got a screen capture of pye in the sky, Santa and the new red plane. All together. Think I’ll go make it rain donuts and watch them fly through it!!
There’s also the Kodos/Kang task in her Halloween costume that has her flying around sprinkling fairy dust… I forgot which one, but combined with the laser gun and the ufo shooting at it you’ll have five flying characters at the same time. It’s kinda annoying though because it makes tapping very difficult because you’ll hit one of the flying characters more often than not…
I finished my final task today and I did not get the Norbert plane.

This happened on both my A and B games also. Plane disappeared, started a new day of luggage tasks. No plane, no Norbert, no golden train task. Checked my storage they are not there. Got a brief talk from comic book guy, and luggage task appeared. Contacted EA, have not heard back yet
Same here. I set the final task to unlock it, but when I went in to collect, it just gave me the dialog from when the tasks reset before I even collected from the airport. Did I miss it somehow?
I have the same problem. I finished my main tasks last night and saw the plane as the third item after the first part of the dialogue finished. This morning the tasks reset for some reason and lost luggage is nowthe third item. I did check my inventory. There is no plane. How do I get the plane task set back?
Same happened to me. I didn’t finish yesterday’s tasks. I had one left an de went to finish it this morning only to discover it was gone and a new day of tasks started. Maybe it’ll be back tomorrow?

This happened to me too. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, it came up immediately.

The same thing happened to me too! It reset to the first daily task and it did not give me the plane. Now the third task shows the usual luggage as the reward. How can I get my plane? I still have the quest asking for the plane and I’m positive there’s nothing in my inventory.

The Golden Train and Uncle Norbert will both be obtained by tonight (and honestly? I’m d-o-n-e with this Event (lol) to complete my Van Heusen Collection (for the 2nd time) 👍😊

So should get the golden train in the next hr or so! But was very interested in wha the samba dancer had to say about milhouse & lisa! That both of them will have to learn to dance from his Brother in shelbyville! Could this mean we might be receiving another area like krustyland? Hmmmmm!
I so hope the plane ✈️ flying across the screen gets in the way like the helicopter or fairy does.

The golden train goes perfectly with Lampwick’s mansion (plus a golden calf, gold palm trees, money pool with gold trim, world’s largest cubic zirconia, gold mailbox, and gold fence). His yard was looking a bit empty without it.
Soooo excited about Norbert’s tasks & the effort EA put into the details of his plane & the strip. I only wish the train gave a bonus % 😊
I noticed a 5% jump in my bonus percentage after placing the train. Did not buy anything else. Would be good to get clarification if it is the train or just a glitch.
You can check a few different ways. Use the search box at the top of this page, or any TSTOA page & enter the item in question. The SIB’s are the best to look at (it will bring up several posts), or you can check your bonus % which is listed on your conform-o-meter (tap on the stars in the lower bottom left in your game, which are next to your level), store the item, check your % again, if it dropped, the amt of the bonus for your item is the difference between the two. If there is a bonus, you’ll then need to go back into your inventory box & place the item again to get your bonus back. I find the first method the fastest. I hope this made sense & helped 😊
Sorry, I should have also mentioned that if you read the descriptions (like the one on this page, Alissa tells you the footprint (size), and how it affects your conform-o-meter, if there is a bonus % she lists it there. So, no, there is no bonus to the train. Did you purchase anything or possibly acquire another item around the same time? It could be that item 😊 I still use the search & read quite a bit when I have a question about something, even after all these years 😂
