Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
So Act 1 is now over and Act 2 is underway in Springfield. For those looking for information about Act 2 you can check out this post from earlier this morning. Right now, even though we’re in the midst of Act 2 I want to take a minute to talk about Act 1.
I’m seeing a lot of reports from players (regular players here, who never have trouble) saying they missed out on getting the last prize (or even the second to last prize) or it was really tight for them. It’s more than we usually see after an event. In fact I don’t know that I’ve see this many complaints since 2014.
Sure, we always have a few complaints here and there, but usually they’re from players who didn’t log in frequently (and we all know events take multiple log ins every 4hrs to complete). This time I’m seeing complaints from players who logged in every 4hrs, 4-5 times/day, did as they were supposed to and still fell short, or nearly fell short. Complaints from players who never have issues during events, yet with this particular event…they struggled.
Personally, Act 1 was like any other event for me. I didn’t even log in regularly some times and still managed to finish before the weekend. So I’m a little perplexed that so many of you struggled. Sure, I have a bunch of premium characters, but I skipped neighbor visits (sorry neighbors, I just ran out of time each day) and often only logged in 3 times/day sometimes only 1 or 2. So I’m seriously scratching my head over how so many of you (who regularly have no issues) struggled.
So I want to take a minute to see exactly what happened. What went wrong. Was it you. Or was it the game. So if you fell short, or nearly fell short, please take a minute to answer the questions below in the comment section, so that we can all take a look and see what happened, and determine if we can offer any advice so you don’t fall short on Act 2.
Here we go…
-How many characters did you have at the HQ?
-Any of those characters Premium? Any of them super premium?
-How often did you log into TSTO to clear your town? How many times/day?
-Did you complete the Act 1 main questline?
-Did you visit your neighbors? Every day? How many did you visit?
-Did you complete the Dossier Tasks each day to earn the extra 1,000 intel/day?
-Did you get any Daily Challenges for Intel? Did you skip other challenges (hitting the x) to earn Intel or Schematics?
-Did you play the Drone Scan game every 4hrs? What was your average score like?
-Did you start the event late?
-At any point were you ahead of the Calendar? Or were you always behind?
-Did you unlock all of the prizes? Last minute? Missed out? (which ones did you miss?)
Appreciate y’all taking a minute to answer the questions!

I’m convinced there is a problem with the Men In Tan, on some occasions when returning to the game after 4 hrs there was only a couple of MIT to tap. I’ve experienced this same issue on previous events and even reported it to EA – all to no avail. It’s actually just happened to me now – Act 2 😞
-I had 7 regular characters, 1 premium and a last minute super premium (I bought him so that I could get the last price, which regardless I couldn’t)
-logged in every day 4-5 times, but I’ve missed the first 2 days, therefore left behind the calendar
– I’ve completed the quest line
– I’ve visited my neighbors every day during the last 10 days, and every 3rd day before that
– I’ve completed the Dossier tasks
– I’ve got intel challenges and completed every one of them, yet I haven’t skipped regular daily challenges
– I’ve played the drone scan games too. My average would’ve been 30 regular 5 big guy
– as mentioned above and started 2-3 days after the opening, therefore I couldn’t catch up with the calendar. I need 110 dounuts for the last prize, yet I have no idea how I’m going to get them all within just a few weeks. We’ll see I guess. Thanks.
So I had Rex, Lucius, Gabbo and Duffman already, logged in roughly 4 times a day.. Completed all the dossier challenges. I was very much on and off with the neighbor visits, but didn’t get many done. The drone thing I was averaging 25 for the first half before I saw the tip of laying the device down and tapping like crazy with both hands..then I started to average 40. All in all by Saturday evening I was still behind on getting Bont, so I bit the bullet and bought the nerds to get me the extra few intel I needed… and with the donuts I had left I also got the full Scorpio deal. Though this is the first time I struggled to get the last item.. I’m usually 2 rounds of bonuts in before Act 2. I figure it was missing the neighbor visits and the awkward drone game that got me.. seriously why do they all spawn behind buildings where I can’t see them…stick to roads you slippery agents!
Forgot to mention that I very rarely got intel in the daily challenges.. And totally forgot to cancel the jobs until I got it.
Hi!
I finished the act 1, but I needed put alarm to awake me, so I make 2 more 4h shift the last day
-How many characters did you have at the HQ? – 9
-Any of those characters Premium? Only 1. Any of them super premium – only 1, (I did buy Duff 3 days ago).
-How often did you log into TSTO to clear your town? How many times/day? 4.
-Did you complete the Act 1 main questline? yes, about 12h before the end.
-Did you visit your neighbors? Yes Every day? Yes How many did you visit? I have about 25.
-Did you complete the Dossier Tasks each day to earn the extra 1,000 intel/day? Yes
-Did you get any Daily Challenges for Intel? Yes Did you skip other challenges (hitting the x) to earn Intel or Schematics? No
-Did you play the Drone Scan game every 4hrs? What was your average score like? Yes, only 15 to 25 hits.
-Did you start the event late? No
-At any point were you ahead of the Calendar? Yes Or were you always behind? The most, behind
-Did you unlock all of the prizes? Last minute? Missed out? (which ones did you miss?) Yes
Thanks, Alissa. I’ve been pretty busy so I haven’t checked in here for a while, but I thought this one was ‘kind of hard.’ So I’m not surprised that many people are carping about it.
I did finish, and in plenty of time. But I thought the prize track was a little long, with big gaps between the last few prizes. I have most of the premium characters (bought Lurleen, Tatum, and Hank just for this, but they’ve all been on my radar, so I was glad to see the sales. Did not get Cargill.), so I’ve been able to send like 15-17 characters to collect intel (slowly working through the new storylines).
My son usually finishes at the deadline: he has fewer premium characters, isn’t quite as dedicated (ok, addicted) as I am. But he didn’t even come close to the next-to-last prize in this one.
Overall, though, I am not disappointed that the last prize is ‘hard’ to get, though. It should be! Is it a tacit declaration from EA that it would benefit you from having a few premium characters? Yep. If people are going to pout and quit because they didn’t get all the free stuff…too bad, so sad, I guess. When I first started, I did not get all the Whacking Day items, or all the Stonecutter stuff. I was ok with that then, and am fine with that now. Even when they put that stuff back on the market, I didn’t buy it, just as a reminder that this is just a game, and not actual real things.
At start of event, I realized it would be tough to get the final prize compared to previous events as the total count you needed was 78600. Usually, this applies to Act 3 when you’ve have had some head starts if you know what I mean. So I just played normally and hope for the best.
Nothing special, tap every 4 hours, sometimes missing once per day, Hank, Duff and Arthur are my premiums, so about 11 of them grinding away every 4 hours, completed dossiers and daily rewards, which gives 2000 extra count daily. Tap all the MIT first then play the drone game. I did not follow sequence initially and lost out chances to get more count as MIT seemed to be wiped out after you play drone game.
Finally, visit your neighbors and Max out those rewards!
Turns out that I got Agent Bont 1 day before deadline. Still manageable IMO. Just stick to the script.
I had 8 characters at the HQ (1 premium).
I logged 3 times a day.
Questline complete!
I did not visit my neighbours regularly.
Dossier tasks complete!
I got Daily Challenges and did not skip.
Drone game 3 times a day. (average 36 agents)
I started the event 24h later (busy day =( )
For the first 3 days Apu was busy (I accidentaly tapped the 7 days task a few days before the event =( )
I was always behind calendar.
I lost the 2 last prizes. (I was expecting that because of my delay).
Try storing all of your kwik-e-marts next time to cancel his task
-How many characters did you have at the HQ? 10 at start, 17 at end.
7 reg
3 premium (gabbo, lucius and Duffman)
+1 premium on March 29th (Tatum)
+1 premium on March 31 (Lurleen)
+1 premium on April 2 (McBain)
+3 Super Premium on April 6 (Nerds)
+1 Super Premium on April 8 (Russ) — Yes I track who and when I pick characters up during an event… somehow it is fun to me.
-How often did you log into TSTO to clear your town?
4x per day from the start, then 5x after April 2nd
-Did you complete the Act 1 main questline?
Yes
-Did you visit your neighbors? Every day? How many did you visit?
I did 90 neighbor hacks most days. Probably missed a total of 4 days worth.
-Did you complete the Dossier Tasks each day to earn the extra 1,000 intel/day?
Yes
-Did you get any Daily Challenges for Intel? Did you skip other challenges (hitting the x) to earn Intel or Schematics?
Received about 4 or 5 1000 intel challenges.
Mostly skipped schematics.
-Did you play the Drone Scan game every 4hrs? What was your average score like?
Yes – I would say an average of around 480, as low as 330 and as high as 650.
-Did you start the event late?
Nope, within a couple hours of it started.
-At any point were you ahead of the Calendar? Or were you always behind?
Ahead every day.
-Did you unlock all of the prizes? Last minute? Missed out? (which ones did you miss?)
Got it all plus about 5 rounds of bonuts.
One detail I will hazard a guess on is the MIT. These seemed very inconsistent in my town. In fact, after logging in after 4 hours a few times I got the message saying that all MIT were driven into hiding when I had not done anything yet. I would head over to KrustyLand or a friend town and most often this would get the MIT to re-appear. Otherwise if I ran the drone scan I did not see anything much for bonuses from MIT clearing. I was always well ahead so I really wasn’t bothered much by this and kinda thought EA would get on it to fix it on their own.
Nice tip. Good to see fellow neighbour on here. Happy tapping Frank
I have all of the characters but one going to the HQ. I didn’t buy the Scorpio skin. I check in and clear my town an average of 3-5 times a day. Mostly every four hours, with a couple of mini check in’s. I completed the act one quest line. I visited my neighbors every day, usually clearing the minimum number of towns to collect schematics. I completed every dossier task and earned the prize. I usually accepted whatever daily task was given me, including awards for schematics, Intel, blue prints, and doughnuts. I played the drone game (mostly) every four hours, but only after clearing all men in tan first. I would guess my average score was around 450. I started the event at the moment it was released. I was always ahead of the calendar. I earned all of the prizes easily. I was collecting bonuts for almost a week before the end of act 1.
Overall- I would say that this was an average first act for me. I think the fact that I have all but one of the possible characters collecting at HQ made a huge difference.
I’m a long time player.
I currently have 19 characters going to HQ (except when a character is doing a dossier task). This includes regular, premium and super premium characters. I purchased the latest character this morning (Femme Fatale)
I have 18 characters including Femme Fatale going to HQ and it did definitely help a ton. I only got the final prize tho 3 days early. I would say if anyone has the donuts…get the Nerds, they help so much.
I got Bond with about 14 hours left, so it got cut close. I had nine characters at HQ all the time, one premium (Gabbo) and one super premium (Mastermind Scorpio) who I bought on day 2 or 3. I logged in 3 or 4 times a day pretty consistently, though there were a couple days when it was only twice. I was worried about my point total, so I stopped doing the quest line in search of points till I read on here on Saturday that Homer gets an extra 500 for finishing it. I have 39 neighbors, I probably visited them every 2-3 days, every day in the last push. I always did the dossier tasks first thing, and even had to do a couple in the second set to make up the points. I got lots of daily challenges for Intel, and would dismiss any challenges in search of intel. If the first one I got wasn’t Intel, it was gone, I needed it so badly. I did the drone scan as part of my logins. I figured out late that I should just tap wherever on the screen instead of waiting for them to appear, so it affected my score, and I’m sure that was the difference in my game. Once I just started tapping everywhere, my Intel totals started going way up. I started to get between 450 and 500 (600 once) just for that every time I logged in, whereas if I only tapped the ones I saw, I was only getting 150 or 200. I started the event on day 2, and was behind the whole time. I caught up briefly in the middle, but fell behind again till I figured out the drone scan late last week. Like I said at the top, I got Bont with only 14 hours left. I am almost certain it was the drone scan game that was the problem, the difference between the two playing styles was huge.
I did everything with no premium characters
visited neighbors every other day
log in at least 3 times a day
I usually get bonuts but this time
i finished on the last day
Same with my A game (I have all the premium characters) and my B game (no premium characters)
So I was actually happy because this time around I was actually a little nervous about getting everything so it made it a little more exciting for me.
It is a good event
So far out of the last year or so the event I most enjoyed was the travel event with the airport 🙂
-How many characters did you have at the HQ?
19 by the end of Act 1
-Any of those characters Premium?
7 + Camera Hat Homer by the end of Act 1
-Any of them super premium?
5 by the end of Act 1
-How often did you log into TSTO to clear your town?
Every couple of hours
-How many times/day?
6-8 times a day
-Did you complete the Act 1 main questline?
Yes
-Did you visit your neighbors? Every day? How many did you visit?
Visited all 31 neighbors every single day
-Did you complete the Dossier Tasks each day to earn the extra 1,000 intel/day?
Yes
-Did you get any Daily Challenges for Intel?
Several times
-Did you skip other challenges (hitting the x) to earn Intel or Schematics?
Yes, several times
-Did you play the Drone Scan game every 4hrs?
Yes
-What was your average score like?
Average was roughly 35 agents + 2-4 super agents
-Did you start the event late?
No
-At any point were you ahead of the Calendar? Or were you always behind?
Generally was ahead of the calendar, sometimes well ahead
-Did you unlock all of the prizes? Last minute? Missed out? (which ones did you miss?)
Got all the prizes + several rounds of bonuts (lost count)
Didn’t use donuts to hurry anything along. Just bought various characters as they became available.
It was very close for me, i actually spent donuts on hank scorpio and i saw i wasnt going to make it and bought duffman. at bedtime I still was short and spent 10 donuts (totally worth it) to get Bont.
I just barely got it on my son’s account (aka alt) just after midnight last night. I had a very busy weekend where I only got on 3 instead of 4 times and that account doesn’t have many premium characters, so only earns 400 Intel per 4 hours sending agents from HQ. Visited all neighbors with that account every day. Did all the dossier tasks. Even got a few 1000 Intel from daily a bunch of times. Avg about 500 from the tapping game.
I think the lack of people to send at HQ was the biggest factor and ability to log in only 3-4 times a day on a few days was the 2nd biggest factor.
I had every available character I had at the HQ.
I ended up getting the 3 nerds
I usually log in about 4-5 times/day – usually have a 4 hour rotation.
I completed the Act 1 main questline easily, and managed to get extra donuts 3 times.
I didn’t visit my neighbors, ever.
I completed the Dossier Tasks each day, easily.
I played the Drone Scan game every time I logged in. Usually got 35-45 agents, and 4-7 Super agents.
I started it on time.
I was way ahead of the calendar. To get Bont, I had 4 days to do it.
I unlocked everything.
-I started started out with 9, the normal 7 pulse Lucius Sweet and Gabbo from the casino event. About half way through I got the nerds and Duffman so brings it up to 13 (7 normal, 2 Premium, 4 super premium).
-Most days logged in 4-5, but the first 3-5 days stuff happened so lets say only 3.
-Yes I did the Dossier Tasks.
-I am going to guess I did 3 day task for Intel. Later in the act when I could tell I was going to get it without the days task I started to skip them to try and get donuts.
-I played the drone game every time I logged on, averaged just over 30 usually.
-I did not start the event late but like a said the first few days I was a little lacked.
-Got all the prizes and got 2 bonus rounds in. Plus a half a day of doing nothing because I new I could get another bonus round in.
I logged in nearly every day, usually 3-4 times, but sometimes 2. I did start a day late, unfortunately. As for visiting friends, I quickly realized that was no strategy because I have too many friends who didn’t bother clearing their Intel, and given that the tap didn’t AoE nearby buildings, this was rather painful. I actually think most daily challenges were donuts, or schematics. I think I’m only got Intel like twice. I played the mini game when I could, and averaged about 40 agents. I also didn’t have Wolfcastle to use because he can’t do it without the outfit. I had all regular characters, and my only premiums were Duffman and Tatum.
Truthfully, the fault goes both ways. I didn’t realize how off track I was until three days before the event was set to end. My grinding was pretty casual. That said, I didn’t really approach this one different than I did others in the past, and I never had problems like this. I don’t want to be cynical, but if EA notices how we can tackle their events casual, they can force us to purchase donuts by upping the difficulty. It is a business after all.
First time in my almost 2 years of playing that I didn’t get the last prize of the Act. I was about 5,000 intels away. I almost always 1-2 extra days for a few rounds of bonuts.
Bont is now available for 145 donuts but I won’t get him at that price.
Definitely do-able, even starting late and not spending donuts. I just had to be mostly diligent to check in every 4 hours or so, but only 4 times per day. Here’s my details. Hope it helps…
* I had all of the regular characters at HQ, plus 5 premium, and no super premium. I bought the Beer-n-Brawl/Lurleen at the start because of the deal, but did not spend any other donuts during Act 1 (although I’ve been tempted… I’ve been playing TSTO since early 2014, and I still don’t have Hank Scorpio – at least not yet.)
* I started on the 30th (2 days late). I completed Act 1 on Saturday and had one round of bonuts (yesterday afternoon). I completed one GHOST dossier during Act 1, and I saved up 2 dossiers for Act 2.
* I logged in every 4-5 hours to clear MITs and play the drone scan, mostly 4 times per day, but sometimes only 3 times per day, and maybe twice 5 times per day.
* I visited my neighbors daily, but sometimes I missed a day (2-3 misses during Act 1). I only visit enough to get all of the intel, then I bounce.
* I did whatever daily challenges that showed up, and I think I X’ed it once, sometimes intel, sometimes schematics, and sometimes a donut.
i have a couple of premium characters and log in throughout the day. normally i am several days ahead of the calendar but this time i did cut it close. this event, for sure, made it a little more difficult. i have friends who normally finish easily but fell short on this one
HQ characters-8. Premium-6. Super Premium-1. How often-daily with maybe two or three misses. How many times a day-mostly 3. Complete-yes. Visit neighbors-yes. Everyday?-mostly, may have missed two or three. How many neighbors-30. Complete dossier tasks-yes. Drone game-yes average 35. Any extra daily challenges-maybe, Always played dossier challenges. Skip challenges-maybe 2. Start late?-1/2 a day. Ahead of calendar-don’t keep track, just keep playing. Unlock all prizes-yes, in time.
I think I only had 16 hrs to get James Bont, and I didn’t make it. My scenario was this: I did not have Lucius, Tatum, or McBain, but everyone else was on the job. I even bought Russ Cargill on Saturday (?) because I knew I was in trouble. I wasn’t initially doing every 4 hours, but on Friday or Saturday I stepped it up and set an alarm. I contemplated paying donuts for Dentz so that I would have more time/ pay less donuts for James Bont, but decided against it. When I knew I was done for last night, Bont was around 300, maybe 240, donuts. Pass.
I was logging in at least twice a day, and my drone score was average, I think. Don’t remember numbers. Did all the daily challenges for schematics, but didn’t visit friends every day. Maybe every other day. Pretty sure I started the event when it launched. But I definitely was not grinding, at least initially. I didn’t think I had to, with all my extra characters. And I didn’t check the calendar until too late. Live and learn.
Oh, and I did complete Homer’s quest line with Hank.
I’m lvl 106. I failed to get the last prize, was about 4k short.
Most of the days I played at a regular pace – 3-4 logins per day. I had no premium characters in the agency. I visited my neighbours every second day but visiting all 30 (90 taps). For the drone game, I earned a 400-450 on average every time I played.
There were 2-3 days when I only logged in twice, which I thought was the problem. 4-5 days before the end of the event I saw I’m really running short, so I logged in very often and also had to put an alarm for night hours. Yet I had to add 50 doughnuts to buy the last prize 10 minutes before the event ended.
I had all my characters that u could at HQ. I don’t have any premiums. If they weren’t at HQ they were doing dossier. I only just got the second last prize. I logged in every four hours like usual I visited all my friends everyday. Got a couple of daily challenges for intel but the majority of mine was for donuts. Also did scans every 4 hours. I was really bummed that I couldn’t get all the prizes for act 1 as I’m a freemium player and those prizes are the only was I get more things for my Springfield. I know EA has been making it harder and harder for us to be able to get everything lately but this was just impossible. I don’t know if it was a glitch in certain people’s games as I noticed it was a 50/50 with my neighbors the premium players had 90000 or more where the other half I if us were lucky to get 60000
I have two premium and one super premium character.
I’ve logged in 3-4 times a day and visited friends almost every day.
My average score at drone scan around 30 agents and 2-3 super agents.
I missed 1st day of the event and got the last prize 1 day before the end of the event and earned 3 bonuts. But usually I get around 3-4 bonuts rounds so it felt a bit of struggle for me.
Completed all the dossier and got lucky with the daily tasks for 1000 Intel.
All of this applies for both my games.
Yeah, and thanks for looking into this
I only just got Bont this morning by setting my alarm at 7:50 am this morning – I’m in the UK.
-I had all the free characters there all the time, plus Arthur and Gabbo. I spent a fortune on donuts in the last few days for Duffman as i knew i wasn’t going to get Bont if I didn’t. And I’ve put his non-event quests on hold.
-Most days i logged on to deal with Intel jobs and drone scans around 5 times. There were some days towards the end, possibly about 3 days, where i only managed 3 times.
-Yes I completed the quest line.
-I only visited neighbours a couple of the days. I did often have neighbour visits into my town though.
-Yes i always completed dossier tasks immediately.
-I had quite a few daily challenges for Intel. I skipped anything that wasn’t schematics or Intel.
-drone scan every 4 hours. Can’t remember the rewards awarded, but i averaged 30 guys plus a few super ones.
-Started the event straight away and luckily all characters were free at the time.
-I was a little ahead at some point in the middle.
-Only just got the final prize in the last hour of act 1.
I should have said, i also used to clear my town of the guys almost every hour.
First time I miss the last prize in three years 🙁 I visited friends and did the drone scan regularly.
– 10 characters
– only one super premium (Scorpio, bought 2nd or 3rd day)
– logged in every day, 4 times a day, maybe 3 times a day or two, but this has never been an issue before, with one exception, the event where pickles(?) and violet were the last prize for an act, but I had been out of town and unable to log in for some of that event so that wasnt surprising..)
– yep, completed questline 3 or 4 days ago
– only 3 neighbours, visited at least every other day, sometimes every day, but this is normal and again, never had an issue with this before
– completed dossier tasks every day first click through
– completed every daily challenge, every day. Strangely this time many of the daily challenges were for donuts and not for minigame currency..
– didn’t skip any challenges
– played the drone game every time I logged in, and averaged 35 agents and 5 secret agents (my hq is on the edge of town so often it scrolled over empty land I haven’t bought yet..)
– started the event maybe a day or so late, but that’s not unusual and I usually get bonuts even on the first act
– didn’t check the calendar, thats never been an issue for me so didn’t even think to check it
– was about 3000 away from agent bont. Even with the expected one day left (my count down timer appeared to be a day off) I knew I wouldn’t get him but had planned on using donuts to purchase him.
I had problems initially, even though I’m one of the devoted tappers who normally finish events well ahead of the calendar. Mind you, I won’t lay claim to “doing everything right” as I don’t always have enough time to commit to the game… but I also don’t usually have this much difficulty keeping up. So after a few days of falling well short of the calendar’s suggested targets, (love those calendars!) I went ahead and chucked a whole truckload of donuts at the screen: I bought Hank, (with his skin bundle) the Filmset/skin for McBain, Lurleen and Tatum. With those four additional premium characters, I easily completed the prize track and collected one round of bonuts.
I don’t really consider any of those donuts spent to be wasted; they were all discounted characters anyway, and that’s exactly what I save up my donuts to buy, at this point. I was a little surprised that it took four additional premium characters to do what I can usually accomplish by buying only one or two of the event specific premiums.
I started two days late because I was travelling and did not download the update, but I still ended up with two rounds of bonus donuts. I am lucky to have several bonus characters including Duffman, Lucius Sweet and Gabbo & Arthur. However, I only caught up with the calendar and then overtook with about 2 days remaining. I completed all dossiers and had a couple of daily challenges which awarded 1000 intel. However, there were a lot of bonus donut prizes for the daily challenges. I usually played 4 times a day, though a couple of 3 times as well. I did not visit neighbours everyday, but I got rather good at the mini game and usually hit more than 30 agents and 4-6 super agents which awards 450-600 intel each time.
