All right…time for a little pragmatic realism here…
This ACT II is a bit EAsier than Act I…but not by much. rEAlly!
As we have seen, some folks had no problem finishing on time, with a few rounds of Bonuts thrown in (myself included), while others struggled. It is clear that playing Freemium, unless you have played for a long enough time to have a number of the bonus characters acquired through the years, makes it rEAlly hard to stay on schedule, unless you log in every 4 hours- 4-5 times every day. No skipsies….
I’m looking at who is available to do tasks…and it is pretty much the same list. So…we’ll just have to see if the same numbers prevail in Act II.

Just got the volcano, so I guess I’m two days ahead of schedule. Sweet.
Not any harder than Act 1. I’ll have the volcano in 15 minutes or so.
I’m flying through this event! I got the third prize, the lava 🌋, ten hours ago. My tip for those who may not be aware to get (a lot) extra event currency more quickly: you can refresh one of the daily Donut shop challenges every 24 hours by pressing on the “x” if you don’t like the one you got. Plus you can keep up to three challenges active at the same time. When I finished act 1 early I held off on completing the challenges and made sure I got three that made event currency payouts queued up. I also held off on completing three dossiers. I ended up with 5000 extra event currency and 120 extra crafting currency after just five hours into act 2. But I realize that this level of obsession is not for everyone… 😁
I keep forgetting that this is world-wide and not just the States!! I get so frustrated when I go to my neighboreenos and have nothing, in HUGE towns, to tap…yet when I wake up, there is NOTHING LEFT IN MY TOWN TO TAP!! ROFL. I’m keeping y’all for at LEAST through Christmas. Love y’all!! 🙂

Ok so I am not sure where to put this question if I missed it somewhere I apologise cause I’ve been looking for a bit now. I know at one point if you collected all of your rent there wouldn’t be anything for your neighborino to tap on. Is that still going on. Especially with this event if someone is on task and I tap on him the ring around the area is huge so it’s collects many of the rents around. I have just started people on four hour tasks and since I’ve been doing this is looks like less neighbors are helping me out. So I’m just wondering if this could be the cause and if so is there anything I can do? Thank you for any help.
During this event, collecting rents has no effect on the “tappables” your neighbors see when they visit. So, you can collect without guilt👍🤑. Sometimes, when a player completes part of the event (Act 1, for example) they take a break from neighbor visits for a few days…until the next act starts. They will probably be back soon….😀.

During this event, you don’t have to worry about leaving buildings uncollected, you just need to make sure to clear buildings that your neighbors have tapped, so they’re available for other neighbors to tap. So feel free to gather all the building cash available when you’re tapping!

Patric, we get it, you really like putting EA in ALL CAPS in the middle of your words. Very clever, but makes your posts that much more difficult to read. Now that you’ve been here a while, maybe you could just post like normal?

Uhm…thanks for the support, Alissa. But, my only defense is that all of the “regular posts” are “just the facts,” and as we have witnessed this week, this place is MORE than a “just the facts” kinda place. It’s a community. If you read the “Addicts Open Thread” you will see loads of people sharing personal information willingly and openly…because we are friends.
I’m glad you come by for the info…but others are here for more. Count me in as one of the “more” folks. Especially when the game turns into a “Grind-Fest” as it does after a short time with every update.
That said…as has been said many times by Alissa and others…if you don’t like it…don’t read it. Nobody is forcing you to do so…right?

I have been gaming for years and reading articles and comments on the subject and people almost always write EA in caps. Very normal IMO
I will certainly take that under advisement. It is an old habit from the old site…and is something that shouldn’t necessarily have carried over from the EArlier incarnation. I’m sure EA would be happy…it must create havoc with search engines that spyder content…and I could EAsily stop doing it. rEAlly!

I ended up getting Bont at the very last minute. What usually helps on the events is when they throw it into the daily tasks. The reward was 1000 this time, and it was the only reason I made it

For those worried about Act 2, it really is much easier than Act 1 (maths-wise). For the completely freemium player, logging in at least 4 times a day should get you there (for comparison’s sake, Act 1 required a completely freemium player to check in 5 times a day, every day, prioritizing the event over all else (including monorail doughnuts), with no glitches and with no delay in starting the event).
Act 2 maths:
Target: 74800 in 14 days
Currency:
900 from event questline
13000 from situation room
4272 from visiting 30 neighbours (for 12 days)
This leaves 56628 currency to get from MIT, the drone scan, and character tasks in 4-hour intervals for Act 2.
At 5 visits per day, the drone scan needs to average 241 currency (56628/14 = 4045 per day. 4045/5 = 809 every visit. 809 – 280 (freemium tasks) – 288 (MIT) = 241). Easily done.
At 4 visits per day, the drone scan needs to average 444 currency (56628/14 = 4045 per day. 4045/4 = 1012 needed every visit. 1012 – 568 (tasks and MIT) = 444). Still fairly reasonable. Especially considering clearing wi-fi signals in your town (1 currency each) and daily challenges (1000 currency) are not accounted for in the calculations.
So if you’re still uncertain, accept daily challenges for event currency, clear neighbour taps in your town, and sneak in a few extra visits if you like. But if you make sure you check in 4 times a day you should be on track with the calendar for this act.

Great post. I found the reasons for falling short to apply to past events, particularly one of the Easter events of years past, before I elevated my Freemium play to a 150 KEM-per-day-farming routine (only 245% bonus XP at this point so lots of room to grow). I bought the nerds, femme fatale and a couple other items with my donut farming currency as well as maintaining the 4-5 logins per day. I kind of think of the Bonuts I get as reducing the cost of some of these items too!

Of course Act 2 will end and Act 3 begin on the day I’m having major surgery. Looks like I might struggle to get all the Act 3 prizes. Act 2 should be alright though.

Logging in 5 times a day is excessive for “normal” people. Once before work, once on break, once after work Is all I have time for.
Usually I finish with one round of bonouts but this Time I finished with literally 3 min left cause I happened to wake up at 1:50am.
I’m not complaining about it, I like it being harder. I just really wanted those 3 donuts to get johnny tight lips.
Also, tsto is getting redundantly boring. Thank god donuts are easy to come by these days.
I agree. I’m a pretty dedicated tapper, but I rarely get more than 4 rounds in a day (unless I’m having bad insomnia and can’t sleep in the middle of the night) – when I awaken, midday, evening, and before bed.
I’m doing tests to get to high school tomorrow! So nervous🙂

Same Here. I held off on two days worth of dossiers (plus today’s dossier tasks) and was lucky enough to get a daily challenge worth another 1000 intel so I’m to 6600 in act 2 intel already.
Reading this site pays off. I never would have thought to hold off on my dossier tasks ’til I read the tip posted here.
Leaving some jobs on the daily tasks uncollected and some of the dossier jobs incomplete made for a very easy start today and I’m a day ahead. Wont continue at this rate obviously, but eases that uncertainty I always get. (Always end up with multiple bonut rounds).
Also allows for three visits per day max to get everything with all possible characters earning event currency and no need to stress about having to neighbour visit.
Ummm…maybe you don’t need to visit your neighbours, but don’t forget that your neighbours may still need you to visit them. But, if your emphasis was on the word “stress,” then that’s okay – I’ll admit that I don’t get around to all of my neighbours every day. But I do make sure to visit them all at least a few times a week!

I woke up, cleared out my town, visited neighbors, tapped on one MIT and got the dry cleaner. This looks easy, Plus I unlocked the baby carriage as well. Seems like crafting is getting much easier. The last couple of days I’ve collected quite a few.
Was surprised to see the only premium offing a 60 doughnut deal. Cargil took the last of my sprinkles. And I was taking a break from farming, just burned out on it. Cranking out those KEM’s now though as I can smell defeat. Gil must be coming.
And Patric glad to hear about the generosity. Beautiful to see people come together like that.
