Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well…better late than never right? We’ve got our major event update…and it’s about time!
This time we’re (as suspected) going Musical!
Note: At the moment this is only live on Android…. on iOS and Android now
I just got home from work and have a Tiny Addict to feed and get to bed. So i’ll be back with more info later tonight..but for now, remember this is an APP STORE update, which means you have to go into the app store to download it. If you don’t see it, search Tapped Out and see if the update is available.
Also, things get started with some auto dialogue, followed by a 6s task for Lisa. This will be followed by another 6s task for Lisa, which is followed by a task to build the Rock Stage (Free) and a 10s task for Homer. This will trigger SOME of the event stuff…
Back with more later on tonight… Ok the Tiny Addict is in bed, I’ve reviewed the files, converted over 5,000 images (yikes!) and have everything ready to go. More details below the fold…
Act 1 Ends/Act 2 Starts August 15th

First up…New LAND!
TWO new strips of land (thanks to a couple of tappers for helping out with this), located far right and very bottom.
Note: There is an issue with the strip of land on the bottom. You can place buildings but not roads, water, dirt etc for some reason. Hopefully, that’s fixed soon.
Now onto everything else…
As mentioned above things will get going with some auto start dialogue between Lisa and Homer. This is followed by a couple of 6s tasks for Lisa and a 10s task for Homer. You’ll also be required to build the Rock Stage…
Rock Stage- Free. 6s Build. 8×8 in size
Neighbor Actions:
After you’ve built the Rock Stage (and sent Homer to perform for 10s), you’ll then be tasked with sending Lawyers to neighbors towns.
Some of you are getting tripped up with this. To perform this, and clear the task, visit a neighbor (Other Springfield always works) and tap the legal file in the top right corner. 
You’ll earn Cuffs from Tapping Fans in your Neighbor’s town. 3 Fans/town..
I’ve still got to play around with the breakdowns and details. So we’ll have a post up breaking down the details of neighbor actions later.

Cuffs are the Act 1 Event Currency
And tickets are the crafting currency…
Tappables:
For this event you’ll have to clear Fans in your Springfield. Each Fan you tap will yield 10 
and a chance for 2

1/ 10 Minutes. Max of 30 in your town at once, bank of 30.

Sungazer Tour Bus and Shredder Stevens & Freddy Freeman- 150 Donuts. 1% bonus on cash and XP. Both characters can play Jam Sessions.
Flaming Moe’s- 60 Donuts. This is a FACADE for Moe’s NOT a whole new building. Generates Tickets (for crafting)/4hrs.
Legal Credentials- 90 Donuts. (Unlocks after you’ve cleared that sending Lawyers action as noted above) DO NOT BUY THIS! Total waste of donuts.

This will unlock at Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Unfortuantely Pt. 7. First you’ll need to build the Kwik-E-Merch…

Same crafting as before. Level up to unlock more items to craft… (16 total levels, and you’ll need 4,600 to reach level 16)

Jam Sessions:
So in this event, similar to a few events in the past (TapBall, Superheroes, Halloween come to mind), you’ll be task with sending characters on a secondary task. In this case it’s Jam Sessions.
Jam Sessions are done at the Rock Stage initally & has you progress through the event and Prize tracks you’ll unlock more Jam Sessions. Various characters can Jam (perform on stage) to earn more event currency. Which you’ll need to unlock all of the event prizes…
And the more characters you send to Jam the more currency you’ll earn…and also the better the character will get. i.e. Practice Makes Perfect.
The goal is to get your characters to 5 star performers to earn the most event currency possible from each Jam Session.
As with other items in this event there’s A LOT more to Jam Sessions than I can detail in this rundown post. So we’ll have a full breakdown post of Jam Sessions and star ratings up soon.
Weird Al Prizes:
You may have noticed Weird Al is roaming around your Springfield in this event. So how do you get him to be a full character?
Well unlock the Weird Al Prizes of course. Once you’ve triggered Weird Al-truism questline you’ll unlock the ability to start the Weird Al prizes. And to do this you send other characters on 3hr tasks to earn funding to Keep Al in Springfield…
Earning the funding will unlock various prizes…
More event currency, crafting currency and Weird AL!

What’s Still to Come?
So long time readers of this site know, we don’t do Spoilers. EA’s often changed their mind on things and made changes as events progress, so as a rule of thumb we don’t post about stuff until it’s actually in the game.
HOWEVER…if you look at your Character Groups (in the game) you’ll see a sneak peak at which characters will be coming…here’s a preview:

Guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to start the event. I sent all my characters on their 12hr tasks an hour ago. Doh. Guess I should have waited but figured maybe we would get it next week.
LOVING this update! Bleeding Gums Murphy! Rachel Jordan! Michael Jackson (kind of)! Alaska Nebraska! Ahh so many new characters in the character collection! Eek so excited!
Looking inside the mystery box though, I really am disappointed that they added items in it that are regularly in the store.
Crafting is quite a big let down as well, not much on offer this time around besides the crowd decoration. 😞

Love the whole sending characters to rock at the stage, 100% sending RMaggie and BGM there all the time when I get BGM 😛
Is crafting unlocked after you first send people to the stage? Because I havne’t unlocked that yet and I’m currently as giddy as a little school boy.
Yeah, I stayed up until crazy hours to check what was available, since it hit at 11pm for me, you have to make a kwik e mart stall or something I’ll have to check my game for what it’s called. ☺

Some highly requested characters and 😳 Many more characters I never seen (and thus can care less). But I am also kinda excited about the new helpful guest star.
THis event idea had hundreds of celebrity appearance possibilities, and instrument Simpson skins (as instruments)…
I don’t know how excited I am about this one.
Kinda hope we can get a Vegan Garden skin for on top of the Kwick-E-Mart that when in use see one of the Beatles stick his up from over the bushes or something. (I won’t get my hopes up)

I knew the new event would start right when I gave up hoping for a new event today. Sigh. I had been sending characters on one hour tasks all day. There was no update at 3:00 PM (PDT). So I decided to send everyone on 4 hour tasks. Then the update hit the app store. Nice timing EA. I spent 2 doughnuts to make Homer finish his task. All is well now.
Soo funny- I did the same thing- fortunately I sent homer n lisa on tasks that I could store where their jobs were at!
Oh, poo, poo, pa, do.
I kept checking here, and checking the App Store, but I just sent all on another round of 60 minutes.
Off to update and see what you need to do to start the update.

Think there’s any chance for Michael Jackson/Leon with this update? I’m a mostly freemium player and I don’t want to use my donuts if there’s any chance.
If you go to character collections, you’ll see three new categories at the end called:
– Homerpalooza Rock 2017
– Homerpalooza Pop 2017
– Homerpalooza Hip Hop 2017
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see who is in the Pop category. Hint: Lisa it’s your birthday!
OMG! There are a lot of new characters coming or now available. I’m going to have farm doughnuts like crazy.
You’ll also find additional characters in other categories, like Bleeding Gums Murphy in C-List Celebrities, and even a new Churchy Joe.

The event comes with two new strips of land, opposite the mountains and opposite the sea.
The number of Squidport tiles, Ornate tiles, and $2 billion REV cap in Heights has not changed though.
Just bought a few pieces of land opposite of the mountains.
A: The individual squares don’t show when you’re moving any bldg, deco, etc.
B: I can’t place ANY roads, dirt, concrete, etc.
C: The new land opposite the water is the same as always.

Yes, a current glitch I’m sure they’ll fix in the usual day after release fixer patch.
I’ve got a bratty brother… he bugs me every day. And this morning my own mother…. gave the last cupcake away. My dog he belongs… he belongs in a zoo. I’m the saddest kid in graaaaaade number two.

These major events seem to be starting later and later in the day for me so I will not really be starting this event until tomorrow morning, at least this one seems to be 6 weeks (around the time the vault might “end”) and looks like fun. I really appreciate all the hard work and effort that all the addicts moderators and community put into this site to make it the best blog that I frequently use everyday. 🙂
Earlier for me. Events usually starts at 3 or 4pm which is the same as when the daily tasks roll over, events end, vaults roll over etc. But alas, it’s now 9am and the event started while I slept!
For me it started at around 11pm and I live in the UK.
What do you mean the vault might end? Are you saying all those items will now only be available at limited times of E.A.’s choosing?
In the post “Inside the Vault”, to quote Alissa “Currently the files show a Vault End Date of September 12th. So it looks like the they’ll be around for the summer at least. I do not know what will happen when September 12th hits though. Not sure if they’ll go back to how they were before the Vault, if EA will launch another vault round or if they’ll disappear all together.”
Everyone else is talking about bleeding gums Murphy, but am I the only one who noticed Weird Al?
I noticed the ! character icon at the top left and said to myself, “hey, that’s Weird Al!”. I hope we can earn him as a character during this event. That would be cool. Better even than Spatula Heaven.

The update won’t load on my iPad from the App Store. I see a new screen in the upper left corner but the usual splash screen shows below it. I click on the new event screen which opens the option to load it but when I click on open it just bounces me to the usual splashscreen. I logged out of the game and tried logging back in but still no luck. Usually when an update is loading from the App Store you click the open button the loading shows in the circle then when the circle is filled the option to click then takes you to your game where the loading continues. That whole step doesn’t happen.
I recall this happened once before in the past (many major events ago) but I don’t recall know what else to do to troubleshoot this. Thanks for any suggestions!
Hard close your device, restart, then go to updates…it should be there.

Try going to Krustyland and back…it will sync your game.
I want so happy my favourite building has now been disqualified. I did not even have to think about it. Totally freemium player and my advice is buy The Jazz Hole!!!!!
Torn between whether I’m happy that Murphy is available from the start, or upset that he costs donuts and as many as he does at that. But that’d be hypocritical of me to be upset about since I bought him immediately. Of course I’m happy as heck that we finally get him in the game regardless, so awesome!!

NM. I’m dumb
I can drop them, but the task in the task bar for doing it doesn’t recognize that I’ve done it. It continues to register 0/3. Have tried hard closing, going to Krustyland and back, but the task is “stuck” and won’t allow me to progress.
D’oh! Never mind. I figured out what I wasn’t doing.
It says “Your device isn’t compatible with this version” when I try to download it, I can’t even download, this is a brand new galaxy s8.

I’m disappointed BGM isn’t vocalized. I’m annoyed I spent a lot of doughnuts on a really expensive character to have him just help with the event. I should have spent fewer doughnuts and bought the 2 character deal (the Sungazer Tourbus)
