Right on cue, EA has served up another season premiere episode tie-in for us to enjoy! This time themed around this Sunday’s upcoming episode…The Serfsons!
I’ll be back once I pull all the info we need from the game…so, for now, know that Lisa kicks things off…

Things kick off with some dialogue from Lisa…
Lisa: Ah, this is the life. No jazz-haters, no pageants, just me and the only friend I need: a good book. You’ll never betray me, will you, Angelica Button? I’ll take that paper cut as a no.
This will be followed by a 4hr task for Lisa (to DayDream while reading). You’ll also have to place the Free All Smelling Tower.
All Smelling Tower– Free, 5×5 in size.
And there’s one lone NEW premium item in the store….
Treestache’s Grove- 60 Donuts, 1% Bonus on all Cash and XP 4×4 in size
And that’s it. Super short, a few items and a short questline. Something to get you excited for the Season Premiere on Sunday!
Episode tie-ins are notoriously short. It’ll only last through the weekend when an end date of Monday, October 2nd. This lines us up quite nicely to see Halloween 2017 on Tuesday, October 3rd….

Anyone else finding that the update refuses to download? I’ve tried for over an hour on both WiFi and cell and it shows downloading 2.1/7 mb and then just goes to the retry screen.
Couple of comments on “monorail tasks” for doh-nuts. Can anyone elaborate or am I missing something.

The way it works is if you have the monorail and you complete weekly tasks, you earn donuts…along with a load of track, most of it unusable.

If it’s not in this post it’s not currently in the game. I can’t tell you how to get something that’s not in Springfield
I have been playing for 5 years … I would prefer a solid week OFF between each event! Then I would appreciate the small and regular events more.
This is kinda like having a week off. I mean you don’t have to do anything. The only thing you can “earn” you recieve just by logging in once. This isn’t so much an “event” as it is a small side task that doesn’t really reward you with anything for completing.

The All-Smelling Tower and Treestache are good for a giggle.
Those trees are so pretty that I would had got them even if they came without the Treestache guy, they look gorgeous next to the Old Tree Spirit on my pagan festival zone 🙂
Oh, the Treestache is a character with tasks? What tasks does he do or is he only a decorative character? I’m into the trees also and have an Old Tree Spirit and Waterslide Tree just because they are so pretty but I have a soft spot for trees with faces on them. Must be a Wizard of OZ thing. 🙂
If this is an Angelica Button event, then the characters of Angelica and Greystash will be costumes for Lisa and Homer. The remain: Unicorn Wizard, Lord Evilton, T.R Francis, Malicious Krubb

Either all the Angelica Button references are teasing for a Magical Halloween (which I would LOVE!) or there just there to tease and annoy me 😁. Halloween isn’t my favourite time of year by far (very similar to Alissa in loving Christmas) so something wizardry themed would be fun 😄

Not sure if it’s a glitch, but I finished my monorail tasks for donuts, got the +5 then it restarted and is allowing me to go through it again.
Yep, mine just did the same thing a few minutes ago. I guess it means 10 bonuts this week!

Hmmm…”Treestache Grove” looks like it comes with a character, a living tree thing (did they just give us an Ent???). And it’s 60 donuts. Wondering if it’s an NPC or regular character, because 60 for a character seems like a “buy it”!

I am still starting the quest (Homer 4hr) but the character shows up in the Town Hall. NPCs don’t show up on that list.
There have been occasions where NPCs can be located w/Town Hall while they are new. I remember when the Old West’s Tumbleweed was briefly on the list, which amused me greatly for some reason…😁 There have been others as well.
Which doesn’t mean Treestach isn’t a NPC…but at that price, it’s not likely.
BUT, it now explains the 1% bonus – at first I was annoyed by 60 freakin’ Donuts for 1 lousy percent, but it seems it’s 60 Donuts for a few (?) trees w/a small bonus AND an NPC, which is less irritating for me. *lol*
I just got 30 Donuts in a Mystery Box (Woohoo!), so I may splurge…I await Alissa’s SISDO in the a.m. to confirm…

I’d just finished my railroad prize track and got my 5 donuts and then this hit. Now my railroad prize track has started over – looks like an extra 5 donuts this week 🙂

It’s a standard episode tie-in. 1 free item, 1 premium..super short questline and that’s it. Episode tie-in, not the mona lisa.

It downloaded stuff for me. Had Lisa free, but nothing started.
Maybe try sending her reading for 45 seconds, or hit krustyland/friends towns and back to see if that triggers it
Man, it sure would be nice if EA would let us know when they are dropping updates. I’ve got 21 hours left on Lisa’s task…. Ok, so maybe I’m a little obsessive, but this is an addicts site, is it not?!?!?!?!?
There’s almost always a season premiere update between the late summer event and THOH event….Because well…it’s when the season premieres…
Next Tuesday will likely kick off THOH.
Sorry dude, I can sympathize. Alissa speculated on the Addicts live broadcast the season tie-in was coming, and she is usually spot on. Btw, I have read that you should not put any kids on long tasks before the Halloween event as they usually start it. Good luck 🙂

We will see, the last couple of updates kept us waiting if I remember correctly.
No, they’ve almost ALWAYS come on the day that I have expected them to come. Sometimes I think the forum gets overexcited and most of the prediction posts on there don’t seem to use past recent events etc to base their predictions like I do.
Also most 2017 events have come a lot later than other events we’ve had in the past.
I am 95% sure we’ll get something on Tuesday 😁

Haven’t there been instances where episode tie-ins and the drop of major events overlap? I’m keeping my fingers crossed for one of those!
Yes but rarely. Events also typically drop on a Tuesday
