    For my Android tablet, Clear Data was the key. Settings/General/Application Manager/[scroll down to Tapped Out. I have to do the same thing for Netflix fairly often, probably due to storage memory issues.

  2. I got the same messages I see here however, I now can’t log in-won’t accept my password. i go to EA to reset it and it gets hung up at the very end of the process. 4 times so far. Sigh… This is my possible ending note of this game which I have played from the first month it came out. I am not spending more time to try and “fix” this crappy update-I will check occasionally and see if it somehow self corrected but until then I am taking a hiatus. Good luck everyone

  3. Ran into issues when I logged out to check my daughter’s game (being in school, she can’t check as often as I can). Had to try several times before I could log in.

    I’ve also been getting the age check anytime I log out and back in. Minor annoyance, wish it would cache the response when logging in on the same device.

  4. Crap. All the sudden it asked my age and then won’t let me log on.. Keeps saying an error occurred. Rebooted phone a few times, tried Uninstall reinstall and still just get an error has occurred.

    The game finally get so many lines of code that it’s unsustainable?

    • It’s working for me now, I also kept getting “an error has occurred” numerous times, I tried hard closing it on my iPad many times and it still wasn’t working. Though I didn’t want to, I gave in and uninstalling and reinstalling the game worked.
      I was also greeted with the ‘enter your age’ screen then I had to tick a box agreeing to the terms and conditions.
      Though it did take about 30 mins for the game to re download and it used a lot of data, but I’m glad it is fixed.
      Thank you to my neighbours for still visiting, and to Alissa for the reinstall suggestion.
      I hope everyone is able to log in again soon. 🐱.

  8. My brother has an issue, on his screen is a warning – your other device didn’t save your Springfield. Please sign into that device before playing.
    He is playing only at his Samsung S5, it doesn’t exist other device…
    This problem first time appeared yesterday morning and he can not enter into game until now. He tried several times to close hard a game and restart and olso reinstall the game three times from yesterday, but the problem is always here, always the same message on the screen…
    Can anybody help?

    • You can skip that message, I get that every time I log out and in, even if I haven’t played on another device. Just hit the red button for both messages, and it starts your game. I have never noticed anything wrong or missing so far.

  9. Right, well I’ve hard closed, uninstalled, reinstalled and powered down and up the device in various orders and I’m still locked out. People have said that you’ll just get that advice from contacting EA, but should I still do it on the basis that it increases the number that they know are affected?

  10. Got the “cannot process login” message, too, but that was a while back. Right around the time EA said everyone would be logged out (8th May, or around there, I think). For me it just fixed itself, after the third try it logged on to my game without my doing anything else.

  12. I’ve reached the level where they won’t give out levels anymore (although we gamers LIKE leveling up and it means nothing to them.) Yep, Level 939 and I got this message and the game started over for me. I changed my password immediately just in case. But still getting nowhere. I’ll try your tricks. Thanks. But, I have to admit I’ve already panicked.

  13. I had to do the whole uninstall route. At least I am back in, on Facebook many are saying they haven’t been able to log in in at least 3 weeks.

  14. I got the error on my pc, via BlueStacks emulator. I had to uninstall and reinstall Bluestacks to get it to work. It’s definitely device specific, because, while I have three towns “A game,” “B Game,” “C came” I could play and log in via my phone and at work (via Bluestacks there).

    This evening, I can’t log in through my phone, but both Bluestacks emulators let me, so it’s something that is going into the device, it must be a bug in one of the updates. But I had this issue BEFORE this latest update.

    This has now hit both my games in about 24hrs. The only thing that worked on either was a full uninstall/reinstall. So that’s fun. But at least it got me back in. Thanks for that suggestion, though. I’d done the hard reclose and the device reboot with no luck after my comment last night and had gone to bed convinced my B game was lost to the ether.

    The only thing that worked for me was a complete uninstall and reinstall but I am pleased to say that that did the trick. Waiting for the downloads- Ay, caramba!

  18. I didn’t have this problem but after the last event ended it now asks me how old I am then proceeds to download an update whenever I try to play I my iPad it doesn’t do this on my phone.
    Anyone else have this issue?

  19. I did have a mini freakout for about 15 seconds as have lost my Springfield in the past…yet retrievable. No loss of progress on this one..all is well 😧

    I guess I’ve been lucky (unlucky?)… I never saw this one or the rollback glitch- but they do have me wondering: is it better to log off every time when you finish the game for the day, or can you just close it down and not worry about it? In other words: I don’t log off, I just close the app so that the next time I play, the title page pops up, I tap the spinning donut, and away we go. Any thoughts?

    Thanks for sharing. I was affected as well. I had to uninstall and reinstall and even after that had three or four error messages. It was pretty frustrating but this site gave me hope!

  22. Had that this am, uninstalled/installed, all good. My issue is with maneuvering through my town. It’s all herky jerky and not freeflowing. I have plenty of memory so it’s not that. Rebooted my phone, still doing it. Anyone else have this prob? It’s driving me batty. Thanks!

  23. Before I read this post, I closed the app, uninstalled and reinstalled it, re-logged in, waited through almost 700 updates. My town and stats looked untouched. Closed game, went to EA and changed my password. All seems ok, but this is weird and kinda unsettling..

  24. Here’s my deal. I never got the login issue but downloaded the update. Since none of my Springfielders kicked-off any mini event of any sort, I sent them all on 4-hour tasks.

    Which is now where I am stuck. They were all doing the daily challenge task at Kwik-E-Mart. I clear that task. It gives me about 6 donuts since nearly everyone os in that task. But the interesting part is the Asian guy (forgetting his name) still shows in the task window with a checkmark. When I click on him, it takes me back to KEM. Unfortunately, theres no one there. And also, no one roaming my town from clearing that task.

    So, I earned all the money and donuts but everyone is still on-task. I go to the “Other Springfields” screen and come back so the game synchs. And then I’m back at the guy and that task. I clear the task, get 6 more donuts and another $2m in cash. Still, no Akira (is that his name?).

    So, stuck in an infinite loop for the moment….

    • Did you try storing the KEM, or the Happy Sumo (the building Akira came with)?

      • Well, I was wrong – it was Krusty Burger. I stored what appeared to be the suspect KB and suddenly everyone was freed from the task. No money nor XP. But interestingly enough, no one left. I assigned them all to 4-hour tasks as part of the usual daily grind. While it SAYS they are all on unique tasks, they all look stuck between two of my KB locations. We’ll see what happens in about 3 hours and 40 minutes!

        • Update to my update: after doing the above storing KB and putting the KB back, I force-closed the game. I came back in and low-and-behold, Springfielders are roaming about on their requisite 4-hour tasks again!

    • Have you tried storing the KEM?

  25. Now if they’d fix the roll bsck glitch. I’ve been down over 2 weeks and no help in site

    • I can’t say this often enough: A fix might only be made so that working games won’t get corrupted (again). I wouldn’t wait for them to fix corrupted ones. So go ahead and request a rollback to get it working again.

    Before I saw this post, around 17:00PDT, this happened on my Lv 290 acct! (Proud to be sitting on a pile of 600+ donuts, without spending “real” money nor any KEM farming.)
    I thought my acct was compromised, so I immediately changed my EA password first. After, I was still getting the “error processing login”.
    I updated the game through the Play Store, then deleted entire cache and any storage files.
    Relogging in, now it recognizes my acct! WOOHOO! Only minor bad part is, now I gotta wait for the ~1.5GB of content to re-download into my phone.

  27. I have tried hard closing my game with no luck. I absolutely refuse to uninstall and reinstall the game so, I will try again tomorrow and if I still don’t have any luck I may just take it as a sign from the universe that my Tapped Out days are over. I’m sorry EA but I just don’t care enough about the game to spend an hour on my excruciatingly slow Wi-Fi network reinstalling such a massive amount of data.

    • Agree, too annoying to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing.

      • Gave in and uninstalled/reinstalled the app after waiting forever and receiving no reply from EA at all…can log in now though spent almost a whole day to download all updates intermittently

  28. I uninstalled. Did a hard reboot, reinstalled, changed my password, chatted w/ EA support this morning, and this evening, and same error occurs regardless.

    • I’m still unable to log in either 🙁
      I keep getting the “an error has occurred” message.

      I hope my springfielders don’t miss me- 😛
      and I hope Bart remembers to feed Santas Little helper.

      I’m IOS and play tapped out on my ipad.
      I did a hard reboot, and changed my password.
      I haven’t uninstalled as it doesn’t seem to have worked for others, and I don’t want to waste the data unnecessarily..

      Maybe the problem will fix soon.

  29. If not 👨‍🚀🐒 (Space Chimps)? Definitely a lack of I.T. Support going on at EA! I’m grateful for this Group – you’ll get better support here then with EA – just annoyed with the ‘Network Issues’ yesterday …. especially because it was so nice not to do anything Event wise (just earn XP, $, Bonuts, tidy up the Springfield)!

    In fact? I’d fancy a delay in offering up a new Event (until May 31 / June 1).

  30. I ended up on both phone and ipad having to do a complete uninstall and reinstall to get it to work. would not recognize the account with force close or rebooting either device.
    2nd time in a week i’ve had to do it as well.
