Did you go into TSTO this morning and see something strange happen? Something similar to this perhaps?
Weird right? That’s not you, who the heck is this? So you hit logout and try to log into your correct account. Of course, it’s not that simple, as you’re then you’re met with a message similar to this…
Huh? WTF?! WHERE IS MY SPRINGFIELD?! These may be some of the thoughts going through your head.
Relax. Take a deep breath. It’s fixable I promise. This happened to me this morning and I had it fixed in under a minute.
If this happens to you, simply hard close TSTO. (and by hard close I mean shut down the app. So that involves you going to whatever app manager you have and force closing the game. This could be as simple as holding the home button down on iOS and swiping away the game or hitting the double angles on Android and swiping away the game. In any need to HARD CLOSE/FORCE CLOSE it).
Then restart TSTO. You may be logged in as someone else. In my game it had me logged in as 1. Weird. Just hit the logout button. And try to log back into your game. Once you get the login popup you should be able to log right back into your Springfield and everything will be fine.
If for some reason this doesn’t work…others have mentioned they uninstalled and reinstalled TSTO and were successful. So that’s another option for you.
But for the love of Jebus…whatever you do don’t panic. Your game is not lost. You can get it back, just stay calm and follow the steps above. If you’re still having issues you can contact EA…but they’re just going to tell you to do the same thing I just did…

Just happened to me. Three password resets and nothimg. Had to remove and relaunch the game. Fingers crossed. Very thankful for this site. You are good people helping good people!
i’m into my third day of the login issue. i have to delete and reinstall the game to be able to login. i open the game a few minutes later and i’m logged out again & only get the same error message which is only fixed by reinstalling. with the next event starting wednesday and being a normal 4 hourly player, looks like i’m out. ive emailed ea quite a lot, their last email told me to delete the game data from the cloud which i don’t use. so still no fix
Try “Clear Data.” Sometimes uninstalling apps does not include erasing the user account data. In Android, it’s under Applications Manager.
I haven’t had to uninstall or reinstall the game just close the app and then log back in but can’t ea fix this already? This is getting ridiculous so far it has happened to me twice today
I deleted the game and re installed, then I was able to log on. But a couple hours later I had the same issue and had to delete the whole game and I re install again and it worked. But the next day it went back to not letting me play until I deleted and reinstalled again. So after several times of deleting and re installing, this is it for me. I give up. I’m not going to delete the app from my iPad and re-install every single time I want to play. And I shouldn’t have to be on the phone trying to fix a game glitch.. Ok I feel much better now. I just needed to vent.
Oof. Just got hit by this today. Had to go as far as the uninstall stage to get my account to log in. Just waiting on it to redownload the patches now, but at least it looks like everything is fine.
Now here’s hoping I’m not finally hit by the rollback glitch…
I can`t play Simpson. I have rwo games, but can`t log in. It sats, Thatcher there is a problem. I see, it has talen 36 hours now. I have troede to reinstal several times, but nothing workshop. HELP HELP HELP. How long will it take.
I have had this issue everyday for the last few days. I have not uninstalled/reinstalled. It only happens on my iPhone, not my Samsung tablet. After about 30 minutes after I try to log in and it won’t, it is fine and already has me logged in.
After I fixed this problem I kept getting an error saying “your game is logged in on another device” when I have only 1 device!

up to my 3rd time this morning that i’ve had to delete and reinstall the app, enter age, tick t&c’s, put in email/password, and wait for a very slow download of 781 updates to get into the game only for the next time i open the game go through all of that again
I’ve been trying to re download the game for a half an hour. It’s incredibly slow going and the “cannot connect to server” message that pops up every 2 or 3 minutes isn’t helping. I’ve enjoyed this game over the years, but I don’t know how much more I can take, especially in light of how badly I hated the last big event.
Not a simple one minute fix for me. I had to remove and reinstall the game. Logged in fine after that, but over 640mb and about a million updates later I could play.
Well, it’s been two days, and still no dice. I’ve chatted/called EA support 4 times now, and done all the suggestions offered here. Well, there goes 3.5 years down the drain.
I thought my game was gone too, but I got back in.
Did you uninstall and reinstall?
I uninstalled and reinstalled
I went to the log in page and clicked ‘forgot password’
I set up a new password
Then I logged in and I had to enter my age
Then click the ‘terms and conditions’ box
And it worked 🙂

As long as you know your email address and password though to access the email EA will send to you!

This happened to me at the start of wsmb3 event, same day the rollback glitch hit me. It is a very simple fix. Shame trhat can’t be said about the rollback, which has been pissing me off for 6 weeks now.
I can’t zoom out as far as I could before.. Does anyone have this problem too? It’s pretty annoying, colecting money is far too harder than it used to be..
On my Kindle Fire twice today, about 12 hours apart!

When the player ID said “1” I logged in anyway and it was me! I logged out and then back in just to be sure and my own ID came up and everything is good
Annoying to say the least!!!, Happened evertime I play the game
Having not seen this post before I called EA Help, they had me reboot my iPhone and uninstall/reinstall the game. The interesting thing that the agent mentioned was that my security question was no longer in English. I set up the 2FA.
Hmmm… can someone say, “hacked DB?”

OY! I Did the reset password /reinstall before I saw this.
Was hoping rollback glitch was fixed but sadly not so Im still limping along.
With all the real life issues, this is piffle.
Close out, shut down, restart, Upload the update, reset my password, delete the app, re-load the app (while I cook dinner), lie about my age (I’m over 18)
And the ponder the annoying question regarding not having signed out in my other device (what ‘other device’) So yes, go ahead and play even though Content may be Lost

True annoyance is when, for the second time in 6 weeks, I start drinking my Colyte so that I can once again go in for my Adult Photo Session.
Anyone else seeing this after getting a small (I think it was about 70MB) update after completing the Burnscoin mining stuff and starting the new story with Wiggum? Also, wiping all downloaded data on android (cache and data, not a full uninstall yet) to nuke that latest update fixed the issue for me.
I had to download 2 times in 24 hours. Once with the login bug when it forced me to redownload the entire game (it started spontainiously), and again this morning when I had the login bug for a third time. 1st time the download was about 1.5 G, this morning about 800M
The small boxes (text and those in the corners) that i had after the first download seem to be fixed after this morning download.
Let’s hope they can fix it before the mayor event starts

What if you didn’t see what to do, and tried resetting password just to get same response? Saw this, tried what ya said, and nothing,, same result. How does this constantly happen? It is a drag and now I’m just stuck! Ugh

Thank you so much for this post! I was worried that my game data had been deleted. If that had happened I would not have happy. I’ve been playing this game four years and to lose all that progress would have been infuriating.
With EA TSTO login, I have had this age request and click the ‘I accept’ privacy button for a couple weeks now. I used to log into 2 accounts and now it asks me age and accept EVERY time I log into both accounts. I am guessing there is a massive push for ALL software to have these user updates because of the new ‘GDPR’ law that goes into effect May 25 for the EU nations.. General Data Protection Regulation. Companies can be fined up to 4% of their annual income if they do not comply with these new laws. Hence the new privacy ‘I accept’ terms from ALL companies in everything you use online. My MIL is still having an issue logging into TSTO on her newer iPad.. but her old iPad with older ios seems to avoid this issue.. for the moment.
