Grab your Santa hats and break out the tinsel because it’s Christmas time in Springfield! Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow!   Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Yarn Barn and Kathy from personnel to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this knitting duo to your town…

A Little More Christmas Info…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So I’m working on posts for the Christmas Event (up first SIBs for Kathy and the Acrobat), but I wanted to share something with you that just came down to us from EA.

For the first time since Itchy and Scratchy Land, we did not receive the “spoiler” details from EA prior to the event launch.  For whatever reason (and my guess is it’s just a hectic time of year) the information was not passed down to us prior to event launch, so we were just as much in the dark as you all were.

So a little earlier today we received the event detail packet we usually get prior to the event.  Inside the packet is a rundown of everything for the event, in addition to the synopsis for each Act (which I’ll share with you all prior to week 1 ending).  Also, included with the packet is an overview from EA describing the event overall, and their thoughts on why it’s structure as it is.

Christmas 2018: Turbo Tappin’ Week 1, ‘Twas the Pageant Before Christmas

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Grab your Santa hats and break out the tinsel because it’s Christmas time in Springfield! Yes the annual TSTO Christmas event has arrived in our pocket-sized towns, covering our usual perfect weather towns with a fresh blanket of bright, white, snow!

While the Christmas event, and snow, are annual the structure of this event is anything but!  This is the first major event in Springfield that’s structured like a mini-event.  Christmas consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the Simpsons Christmas Special!

For Act 1 we’re tasked with following Lisa’s Christmas story…all about the Christmas Pageant.  Each part of the story will unlock another prize themed for Lisa’s story.  So let’s take a look at the details behind Week 1 and the Turbo Tappin’ Version for Lisa’s Christmas Story…

Christmas 2018: A Simpsons Christmas Special Act 1 is Live! (Updated and Complete)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, it was teased (by accident) a few weeks ago…

And yesterday we received the App Store update that brought snow to Springfield!  (if you haven’t downloaded it, do so.  But remember it’s MASSIVE. So make sure you’re on WiFi)

And now it’s time!  It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast which, in the words of Elsa, means “Let the holidays begin!”  If I had a Yule Bell I’d ring it… (sorry Riley’s been watching A LOT of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure these days…)

Things will kick off with an AUTOMATIC dialog start with the Simpson family…

I’m working my way through this, and will continuously be updating this post.  So continue to refresh and check back for new details.  Once the post is completely updated i’ll add (Updated and Complete) to the title.

Christmas is Coming…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

In case you missed it last night, Christmas is coming!  Yes, head to your App Store right now and download the newest version of TSTO…the Christmas version!

Caution this is a MASSIVE update!  Don’t download it unless you’re on WiFi…it’s HUGE.  (and it’s that massive because of the snow.  It has to reload every single item in the game with snow)

Christmas 2018 will be broken into 4 Acts, and each Act will run 1 week.  So Christmas will end on January 2nd.  (From what I can see…Act 1 focuses on Lisa, Act 2 on Bart, Act 3 on Homer and Marge and Act 4 on Maggie..but I could be wrong)

Things will kick off today at 10am ET, in about 3.5hrs from this post going live.  Of course, I have a drs appointment right when this event is set to go live, so it’ll be a little bit before I can run the update and get a rundown post up.  Until that post is live treat this point as an Open Thread to discuss the event…up to and when it hits.  🙂

The app store update for Christmas has hit.  This update is MASSIVE and it will bring snow to Springfield…

However, Christmas itself is NOT live yet.  It’ll go live tomorrow.  So don’t freak out that nothing triggers for you… it won’t until tomorrow (the 5th).

Addicts Want to Know: 2018 “Year In Review” Mini-Events

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, we’re nearing the end of 2018.  Another year in the books and another year full of events in TSTO.  As we prepare to head into 2019, we’re one again planning on doing a very special Addicts Live for the end of the year.  This will be pre-recorded, so nothing to tune in live for.  Just like we did last year, this year in review episode will feature a discussion about 2018 in TSTO.  We’ll talk about the events, share our opinions about each event & we hope to include your opinions as well!

So in preparation for that episode, I’ve prepared an Addicts Poll…a place for you to break down just the events of 2018.  This way we can keep Addicts Live interactive, despite being pre-recorded.

Because we’re still awaiting the final major event of 2018 (Christmas), I’ve broken this up into two parts.  You’ll see a poll for mini-events (this one) and another one in a little while for major events.

So please, take a moment to answer the poll questions below about mini-events in TSTO during 2018, and as always feel free to elaborate your thoughts more in the comments below.

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
