As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we sometimes find ourselves forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU.
So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in-game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small and brag about it to the world. We want you to! Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.
In this edition of DID (Designing in Downtime) I am going to go to the vault for part of it, and then do a quick turn on easy solutions to “change things up quickly.” Yes…this is a bit of a cop out…but I am knee deep in a major remodel, and writing time is being wedged in…like so many two-by-fours in a newly framed wall.
While looking back at some of my earliest TSTO blogging, I came across an archived story about the Candy Striped Cooling Towers, which were part of “Community Prizes” back in the day. Remember Community Prizes?
What is evident in the story, is that there were a TON of problems with the game at the time, and people were freaking out. It kind of makes me laugh to think about the types of things people whine about now. We have become an entitled bunch. But, I digress…
Tapped Out is a game we’ve all been playing for years, but how well do you really know the game? Can you guess buildings/characters/items based on sound? Or are you like me, and play without your sound turned on so you don’t have a clue which sound goes with what? Well, we’re about to find out!
Each week we’ll be bringing you a Name that TSTO Tune game, based on an era of TSTO of our choosing. Each sound effect for the week will all be from a certain time period in the game/event, which we will disclose to you, so base your guess off of that knowledge.
Now without further ado, let’s get to this week’s Name that TSTO Tune game!
Now that we’re nearing the end of the Flanders Family Reunion mini-event, I thought it would be a great time to take a look back at the dialogue (story-line) that took place over the last two weeks.
Things kick off with Nedward and Capri Flanders telling their son he’s hosting the Flanders Family Reunion…much to the surprise of Ned! Throughout the event, we meet a bunch of Ned’s crazy family members and see Ned try not to lose it. Although he ultimately needs to rely on Homer J Simpson to help him deal with his crazy family. So let’s take a look at all the twists and turns this mini-event had to offer…
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday, July 31st) marks the end of The Flanders Family Reunion mini-event! So, if you haven’t already, finish up that prize track, purchase your last few premium items, and be prepared to see the mini-event leave our games tomorrow morning! (and hopefully, something new arrives in its place)
What are your overall thoughts on the mini-event? Have you enjoyed it? Or did you feel like it was a bit lame? Where have you placed the prizes? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
P.S. Don’t forget your showoff submissions are due tonight (Tuesday, July 30th) at 8pm ET. Show us what you’ve done with the Flanders Family Reunion Stuff!
The Flanders have invaded Springfield…hopefully to liven this up a bit! As the Flanders Family Reunion has officially kicked off! What will happen in the new update? Will Canadian Flanders say one eh to many? Will Ted Flanders unload all of his Spinich? Well, you’ll have to read the dialogue to find out!
With this mini-event, two new premium characters arrived in Springfield, Ted Flanders, and Brunella Pommelhorst. In addition to helping with event currency, the two premium characters also come with their own questlines. So let’s take a look at the full dialogue for those questlines now…
It was five years ago, just after the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs bracket was complete that I thought it might be cool to do a The Simpsons Tapped Out bracket. Here we are in the thick of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs again, and it’s time for our fifth TSTO Addicts Bracket Battle!
How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there is A LOT of content in the rich history of The Simpsons universe still not in our little game. There is so much in fact, that it was hard just to narrow it down to 64 entries to start with. With that in mind, we present to you TSTO Addicts’ Most Desired Episode Content Bracket Battle.
It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So, here is your Open Thread…..
We’re in the home stretch for the Flanders Family Reunion, have you completed the prize track? Thoughts on the event? What do you think we may see next?
It’s been a while since we had some trivia around here, so what do you say we have some fun today? It is Saturday after all, so let’s start a new round of Saturday Simpsons Trivia!
This week, in honor of the Flanders Family Reunion, I thought for this round of trivia we’d cover the episode were Canadian Flanders comes from. So this week we’re talking about Season 16’s “Midnight Rx”…
Time to brush up on your Simpsons skills because today’s trivia starts now!
I think the old saying goes, “You can’t pick your family, but you can pick your nose.” Or something like that. But, the reality is (and has been since there was family) you may be related by blood, but you may not be friends with members of your family. In other words, it comes down to that other old saying, “I love you, but I don’t LIKE you right now.” I hear that more and more these days as politics and religion become the unsocial side of social media.
However, in our game, Family, Politics, Religion and all sorts of other related topics became fair game…and the writers did themselves proud, with some of the funniest dialogue in years!
I’ll dive into some of it, right after I answer this question. “Since when are “mini-events” (which Flanders Family Reunion Clearly Is) two weeks long???” The answer? Since EA and the writers have decided to stretch everything out, in order to make less work for “the team.”
