Throughout the years we’ve always liked to poke fun of the fact that we were called TSTO Addicts. Afterall, everyone is here because they’re addicted to a silly little mobile game.
One of the ways I liked to poke fun of it was by a regular feature, in our early years, called You Might Be An Addict If…(along the same lines of Jeff Foxworthy’s You Might Be A Redneck If…) And I thought no better way to end our Look Back posts than with a Look back to these classics! Afterall, who doesn’t want a good laugh the night before a major event is about to hit?
Reaching back into the Addicts archives once again for another TSTO Anonymous meeting. This time a topic I think we all can relate to…TSTO burnout.
Something I’m sure we’ve all experienced at one time or another. Heck, I’ve been doing this site for 5 years and playing the game for almost 6 I’d be lying if I said I never felt burnt out on it. People change, priorities change and life gets in the way, so it’s only natural to feel a little burnt out over the game. What’s important is what you do when you’re burnt out and how you handle it overall.
So without further ado, I turn it over to 2016 Wookiee…
Super Safi has been an official member of the Addicts staff for nearly two years now and in that time he’s given us loads of stats, strategies, tips and bracket battles! Not to mention he’s a fixture on Addicts Live!
Way back in 2016 Safi wrote the strategy post to end all strategy posts. A post Addicts, and non-Addicts, have been reading, referencing and linking to whenever the subject of Free Donuts comes up. Yes, Safi was the original author of Kwik-e-Mart farming for free donuts! A post, I’m sure many of you have read before, all about how to buy and sell KEMs to earn free donuts in TSTO! I thought there’s no way we can have a look back week without including this classic from Safi!
So now I’ll turn it over to Super Safi and his stats and strategy in Kwik-E-Mart farming…
So my main role on this site has always been game content. I’m the one (usually) writing update rundowns, walkthroughs, should I buys and general “how-tos”. They have always kept me busy and I like doing them (most days). I always enjoy getting to explore the ins and outs of the game and sharing it with you guys, after all that is the primary function of this site right?
So when it came time to look in the archives for posts I’ve written it wasn’t as easy to find one to post this time around. After all who wants to re-read a walkthrough from Level 36? BUT I did remember that, back when I wasn’t a mom and had way more time on my hands, I used to occasionally write things for fun. Sometimes opinion pieces about an event, other times in-depth WDTCF like posts.
Some of those WDTCF posts were for a series of posts we used to do called The Real Housewives of Springfield (we also had a similar feature for the men of Springfield called Mad Men of Springfield). And then I remembered, Sarah Wiggum!
As y’all may recall from episodes of Addicts Live, or even some of my posts, I’ve long been advocating for Sarah Wiggum to join our games. So long, in fact, it goes back to the very early days of this site when I focused a Real Housewives of Springfield piece on Sarah Wiggum herself. I tried to make the compelling case on the Springfield NEEDS Sarah. Apparently, four and a half years later, it didn’t work…since Sarah STILL isn’t in Springfield. Hopefully, this time around it’ll make EA see Springfield needs Sarah.
So without further ado, let’s travel back to the winter of 2014…
Back in when we started this site in 2013 we tried to separate ourselves from the loads of other TSTO blogs out there at the time by being different. In addition to the traditional gameplay posts we wanted to bring you guys different content, fun content. We wanted to be different, and what better way for a site called TSTO Addicts to be different than to hold regular meetings of TSTO Anonymous?
These meetings were spearheaded by the one, the only, Wookiee. While I’ve got a few “classic” TSTO-Anon posts I plan to run over the next few days, I wanted to start out this Look Back series with two of the very first TSTO Anonymous posts, since we’re all Addicts here right? It’s funny to see a lot of the “issues” from 2013 still hold true today!
So without further ado, I turn it over to Wookiee circa 2013…
Well, it appears that we have some downtime in TSTO right now. A little teaser hit our games yesterday…with very limited content…giving us all LOADS of time to twiddle our thumbs waiting for the next event to hit. So with about a week’s worth of total downtime, something we rarely get in TSTO these days, we thought we’d have a little fun.
In case you didn’t know, our official Blogiversary is August 14th. At that point, we will have been blogging for FIVE years! Insanity right? If you told me 5 years ago I’d still be doing this today, I’d tell you that you were a nutcase. Turns out…I’m the nutcase. Anyway, with five years of blogging and nearly 5,400 posts (over 3,000 of which I wrote…yikes!) we thought we’d take this downtime to have a little look back at some of best of TSTO Addicts.
So over the next week, we’re going to go through the archives and pull out some of the “Best Of” posts from each of us. It’s kind of neat that the downtime, kinda sorta, corresponds with our Blogiversary and we’re able to take this trip down memory lane. Usually, we’re knee-deep in event coverage when our anniversary rolls around…with no time to break for a look back like this.
We’ll kick things off with a post from WAYYYY back in 2013 from the Wookster a little later this morning. You’ll get to see how our writing styles have evolved and you’ll see how the more things change, the more they stay the same. So enjoy the trip down memory lane….I know I had fun going through the archives!
Well, we’re nearing our 5th anniversary of TSTOAddicts (August 14th)…if you can believe that! FIVE years of this site…wowsers! And now it’s time for one of our favorite blogiversary traditions, our annual Addicts Q&A!
Over the last 5 years of blogging we’ve provided A LOT of information for the game itself, but not too much about us (although with 4 previous years of doing these Q&As, I think we’ve filled in quite a few blanks). We’re always asking you guys about your thoughts on the game, and more about your lives…and now is YOUR chance to return the favor!
It is once again your chance to peek even MORE inside of our lives. What do YOU want to know about us? Want to know about our tapping habits? Our lives outside of the blog (we do have them!)? Our family lives? Our hobbies? Our favorite color? A little advice about life? Anything you can think of ask away! Nothing is too random for us…
Feel free to post your questions here in the comments or email them to us (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com). We will then go through and answer as many questions as we can.
As of right now, our plan is to have the full Addicts staff (Wookiee, Patric, Safi and myself) sit down one night and record a very special Addicts Live…prior to the newest tiny addict making their arrival. Hopefully, our schedules all work out and we can make it happen so y’all can see all of our lovely smiling faces. However, we do ask that you try to get your questions in by 8pm ET on July 31st.
So ask away and learn even more about the Addicts!
Recently we celebrated our 4-year Blogiversary!! (ok so it was a month ago…) In continuing with what we did for our previous anniversaries, as part of the celebration we gave you guys the opportunity to ask us anything you’d like with the promise that we’d answer your questions (or as many as we could). And as always you guys came through in a big way!
4 years is kind of a big deal to us, since none of us thought we’d still be doing this after all these years, so we wanted to be sure to take the time out to do the special anniversary video for you guys. We originally planned on doing this as a special Addicts Live! and live streaming it for you to watch and comment along with us, but alas the schedules got the best of us. So we did the next best thing…we recorded it live!
And of course, like in the past, this year’s video was full of it’s own spotty wi-fi technical glitches. Wookiee froze, I froze and Patric made fun of us…thankfully we don’t have these kinds of problems with the live stream! So I apologize in advance for the crappy video quality & weird pauses from wi-fi dropping.
Oh and be sure to check out our new Addicts Live! music! Patric conjured that up for us and we love it!
Anyway…we hope you enjoy it!
Well what do YOU think? Crazier than last year? Did you laugh with us (or at us?) Did you at least laugh at our jokes? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!
As we’ve passed the 4 year anniversary of TSTO Addicts (it was the 14th in case you haven’t been paying attention to the site), we’re all set to do our annual tradition of fielding your questions to us!
Over the last 4 years of blogging we’ve provided A LOT of information for the game itself, but not too much about us (more than in the past but still not a ton).
Anything you can think of ask away!
Feel free to post your questions here in the comments or email them to us (TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com). We will then go through and answer as many questions as we can.
As of right now our plan is to do them on a very special episode of Addicts Live, but if our schedules don’t work out we’ll record and post them like we’ve done in previous years. So please try to get your questions in by 8pm ET on August 31st.
So ask away and learn even more about the Addicts!
Last week we shared part 1 of our 3 year blogiversary Q&A, where we answer your questions about anything and everything! And in typical Addicts fashion…we couldn’t keep it in one video! We just talk WAYYYYYY to much! So of course we had to do it in two parts!
Unfortunately, Bunny had some other things going on and couldn’t stay with us for all of Part 2…but we hope you still enjoy what Wookiee and I refer to as the Wookiee and Alissa comedy hour 🙂
