Welcome to another edition of From the Mouths of Addicts, where YOU get to sound off on anything and everything in the world of Tapped Out! This week’s post comes to us form a few different tappers. Everyday we receive TONS of emails from you guys with fun shots of your town, random thoughts about the Simpsons & of course…we’d be lying if we said it wasn’t…our favorite admiration for TSTO Addicts! So we thought this week we’d share a few of the emails we’ve received recently.
We like to think of these two emails as PSA’s. First, we’ve got a GREAT tip for Kindle players looking for a deal on donuts from one of our long time readers LadyPandi. And the other is an important warning about Easter Basket Placement from one of our favorite trolls readers…the one the only FREAK!

Hello there neighbors!!!
I have noticed something that I feel should be addressed as it may easily effect your neighbor visiting experience…Wookiee may even yell, “It’s a trap”…
These egg baskets are cute and many of us wish to use them as a simple complimentary decoration…don’t blame you one bit. Others wish to trick you outta your egg stash by hiding them amongst other egg bearing items…
First of all, keep in mind that the baskets, though cute, are quite instrumental in aiding your friends AND you!!! Sure, you can bunch them together, form them in circles…many possible ways to place them…but it has been my experience that when grouped together, one may have trouble giving you the color that you/they wish to give/get…so I wish that my neighbors make separate designs or what have you, per color…a blue section and pink if you wish to display both…trying to keep some distance between the two.
The other aspect of this writing is the “trap baskets”…I have encountered at least two individuals that have taken to hiding their baskets…I understand their mentality here but I don’t like it…sure, you’ve had them placed for a couple of days and no one has left you any…sad, I know…but friends, I will delete obvious offenders…
My suggestion is SPEAK UP…come here and make some friends, talk to your neighbors…I just know that you can find friends to swap with, say…by trying that egg-swap thread that Alissa made for all of us…your mod-heroes are doing an awesome job writing sooo much and all the while also putting up with the Freak!!! 🙂

I have noticed that the apps that offer the bonus rewards change frequently (I was able to bank significant coins for making a single 99 coin purchase inside Where’s My Water 2, for example. I think it gave a 500 coin bonus, which is no longer available) and TSTO may not be “on the list” forever. I recently traded in some coins for donuts and built up a nice savings account of donuts for myself. 🙂 I’m trying to hang on to them until Halloween, since that’s my favorite… then I’m going to go crazy and buy everything on the premium list! 🙂
Also, I bought an MP3 album recently and Amazon gave me 1,000 coins credit! So for those of us who want to stock up, you might browse the site to see which purchases give the best coin bonuses!
As a heads up, (I don’t know if it’s related to the game update that occurred or if it’s just TSTO randomness but I ordered 132 donuts at a little before 3pm on my kindle fire, got the amazon confirmation email, and no donuts appeared in my town (I did get the promo coins as stated in this post. I logged out, logged back in, hard reset my kindle fire, uninstalled the game, re-installed the game, tried syncing the amazon content a couple of times, no donuts (I logged out and back in numerous times…currently waiting to hear back from EA and am hesitant to play the game (ie earn more eggs or boxes because what if EA rolls my game back to 2pm (or earlier)I’ve been in a fairly strong wifi zone so I don’t think it’s a delivery problem…sigh off to screen cap my game so if EA rolls back I can try to get the stuff back.
I’ve progressed past the EA autoresponse (which arrived minutes after I contacted EA through the webpage) and have uploaded screencaptures of the successful purchase screen and the amazon receipt (but am still waiting to get a non canned reply.
wow EA support was super responsive (in terms of speed) and they gave me 165 donuts instead of the 132 I was missing (I am still going to screencapture all kindle based purchases in the future just in case this happens again. Hey addicts, sorry about spamming the thread (all three posts are still in moderation but I didn’t want to complain and then not update (as a quick summary bought donuts at 245pm eastern, complained to EA at 545pm eastern, problem fixed by 725pm eastern THE SAME DAY (off to leave positive feedback for the CS person
That is great. They do really try to take care of the players as best they can. I have always walked away from them with “something for my troubles” offered. No worries on the posts. I am glad to know how people’s experience with EA is. Good or bad.
I just don’t know what to do about freakzilla48…I mean really…I stand no chance against him…FIRE BAAAD!!! 😉 LOL

I REALLY MISS PHIL HARTMAN… 🙁 …sorry to bring that up…
I have only been able to grow carrots once in my A town, and my bunny count has always been much lower than what is running around in my B town. Any suggestions?
You have a max of bunnies allowed in your game at one time. 40 hopping around, 20 stored awaiting release. If those are maxed and you tap on the carrots…no where for them to release to. So you lose the extra bunnies.
I suggest that you tap/zap as many bunnies as you can first…then go tap on the carrots. I have seen 10 pop out…but I have also seen 12 from time to time. Don’t know if this is an odd glitch or just a random thing. (coding on the farm is a bit odd). You should get at least 10 though each time. They usually all appear somewhere around the farm in a mass herd of bunnies. Lol. Funny to watch.
Remember bunnies hide in EVERYTHING, so you may not see a ton hopping around.
Remember the tip too about pressing the yellow all directions icon, and fading out buildings And decorations And yep!! There they are….hiding behind pretty much all buildings!! Sneaky Lil bunnies!!
I still laugh every time I see mine IN the mountain. HOW THE…??!! Lol 😉

Yea for the kindle owners.. Well said Freak.. been there w/the baskets. I’m blue and I was tricked into giving my pink eggs ;( I am very careful where I tap now and if any of my friends hide their baskets they will be deleted…If u read this @Freaknstein8 I wanted to say thank u for being a faithful friend and there is a message in my town for u.

Yes I read an entry on another site of a person giving advice on how to best place baskets to “steal” them from neighbors. This is like my neighbors growing up–stole every bike my parents ever bought and broke into our house a couple of times. Luckily it’s much easier to move away in tapped out! I think I would call that anti-social…
I would call that a deleted neighbor. It’s a silly lil game. Why does someone have to try and spoil the fun?
That kind of activity is definitely a deal-breaker in my book. Glad I stick to Addicts 🙂
Love my Kindle fire. I do everything on it. Now if only I could get it to play my Nancy Drew games I would never have to use a computer again.
I too have been burned by the basket clustering, but it was from my own foolhardiness, should of known better than to try and negotiate around six mixed baskets… Never again!

EA has turned all baskets off…or have you guys noticed this??? I think they are still working on the “thanks” glitch inrelation to the baskets…anyone know???
They’re trying to get all those issues fixed and into an update. They’re all kind of linked to the baskets.

I haven’t placed baskets as I am trying to get all the prizes first, then I will share my eggs…..is this a good strategy?

How can you tell when your basket is maxed with 4 visitors? I have seen my basket with the egg above and thinking it was maxed, i tapped and found only 2 or 3. Thanks! Happy Zapping!!!
You should have 4 in it (representing 400 total) and an icon overhead. What SHOULD happen is you tap on it and you get eggs while the basket disappears. (Pics and info in post below).

With this glitch on the baskets, who knows what anyone sees anymore. It is all a risk. They may or may not work. You may or may not get all the eggs. Your neighbors may or may not be able to fill them. So many issues.

I just wanted to say that your neighbors may not be consciously trying to trap you, and if so, will appreciate your pointing out that this is a problem. When the Easter event started, before I had read on here how it all works, I received two pink baskets and one blue so I put them all out as cute decorations. Then I realized I should only have a blue basket out but I couldn’t put the others into my inventory. So I thought I should hide them so that neighbors didn’t leave eggs in them. I can understand someone doing this without realizing it might trap neighbors.
I ended up with mine in plain sight. Right away I received three eggs in the blue one and one in the pink one. But then they disappeared and since then I haven’t received any eggs of any color. I am not sure if people can leave eggs in there or not. I contacted EA but didn’t hear anything back. So the baskets have been a bit of a downer for me. But I appreciate this heads up on the potential problem because I thought I might put out new baskets and hide these old ones in case they weren’t working, but now I see that is not a good idea.
I can see all sides of it. We put this out there due to just what you said. Some may not realize it… others (some I know 100% as they said so) are doing it intentionally. I find that part not very nice. So just something to try to help everyone on all sides to play the game in a manner that will help ALL players out. 😉
Correct, you may want to wait til we get an Update on the Basket Glitch before putting anymore out for now. Just keep playing the other sides of things. Have fun. Still plenty of time left in the event. 😉
Once everyone gets a feel for things it will all settle down.
Hey neighbor, it is kind of you to be concerned for these guys…I know from which lobe you are thinking…it pains me to delete anyone as it pains me to see people awaiting my “acceptance” into my town…I wish more of my neighbors came by here to just say “Hey”…I’m still hanging on to a few neighbors that I’ve had from the start, yet never come here…got at least one to come here but they obviously shied away…Simminagain…I’m trying to remember that this is still just a silly game…my most enjoyment being the interaction with you and my other neighbors and friends…have I tapped you lately?…well look out, here I come!!! LOL… 🙂

Freak, That’s funny you mentioned simminagain, I had them as a neighbor, but there wasn’t anything to tap on or activity for a while, so I checked their last log-in & it was days. I unfriended them, then they requested to be my neighbor again, I said WTH, & accepted & haven’t had a problem since. I am kinda getting weary of the ones who clear, but never do anything with their town & everything is all crammed together & grouped. I want to see something interesting when I visit. I’m probably going to be cleaning house again soon.
Luckily I haven’t seen any egg-hiding shenanigans, but between what I’ve noticed myself and comments on this site, I’ve spaced out my own baskets a little bit and wish some of my other neighbors would do the same. I’m not at the point where I can do hard-core egg trading, but when (hopefully it’s a “when” anyway) I do get there, I can see how having the baskets so close together could get more and more aggravating. Just today I donated some pinks in exchange for blues (which gave me 300 more golden eggs, woo!) and that was somewhat difficult because of the layout – had it been any worse, it would’ve been the next neighbor with the right basket who received my rarely given bounty.
On a related note, I’ve also decided not to have more than one basket of each color out at a time. I made the mistake of putting two of the blue baskets I earned out at once, and I now have one basket with 3 eggs and another with one egg, just sitting there, mocking me. I’ve since gained another blue basket but that puppy’s waiting until the other two blue baskets are filled.
Very smart basket use. I too have run into a town where they are just too close. If you zoom in REALLY close, sometimes it helps…but then still…possibility to tap wrong one is awful. I feel bad due to once they’re dropped…they are there to stay for a lot of people so many CAN’T move them. Even if they want to. Just realized too late.

Funnily enough, I realized the very same thing about the baskets in my friends’ towns today (the third day in a row without donuts…argh), so I moved my baskets further away from each other. Then I came here and read this.
Another basket tip: Only put out one basket of each color at a time. If you put out two (or more), people will fill different ones up, and it will take more time for you to collect those 400 precious eggs. If you put only one out, neighbors can only put their eggs in that one basket, and it will fill up quickly. Then take the next basket out of inventory (you can’t put it back once you take it out). Just a good tip for those who are using the baskets as an egg-earner instead of a decoration.

I had one neighbor put baskets right by the buildings that had eggs, so that I had no choice but to tap those to get to the egg from the building. They really left me no choice but to “release them”! That’s the neighbor that irl invites you to their house to form a neighborhood watch & everyone finds their stolen property! Doh!!

Thank you for pointing out the basket problem. I haven’t experienced any “hiding”, but I was very frustrated when the different colored baskets were too close together, and I gave away what I actually wanted more of. I hope the Kindle coins works for you fellow addicts that use Kindle, I know we all could use a few more donuts. Epidural injections went great, glad I opted out of the anesthesia, I thought he was still giving me the local & he said we were all done LOL! All I felt was a pinch, and I’m already feeling better 3 hours later !

This happened to me… i gave away eggs i needed…. i did a big intake of breath…and breathed out slowly!! Lol…. nothing worse than trading by accident!! When i decide to trade i try and pick those that have helped me….
I zoom in REALLY close on the baskets. As much as I can. Then tap them. I am actually going to replace my stylus for “fat finger” mistakes. Lol
I am just trying to help everyone who has a basket out to trade blue for pink, but there aren’t enough baskets. I can’t see, much less remember, who gave me eggs LOL. I won’t be opening any more blue boxes, tho’, so they will all be traded 🙂

Wookiee…!!!…hope I was right about what you might say… 🙂 …one guy hid his behind the church , all you could see was the bobbing pink and blue bone…had the church egg been there it could have easily not been seen before it was too late…another hid his in a patch of woods…another put his in the middle of those snake rocks…
Not far off at all bud. I’ve seen some sneakery but oh well. My baskets are easy to separate with my 2D landing square. Almost done with my blue boxes so I’ll be donating to blue baskets very soon.
Very very strange, I tapped on the basket icon in the top right corner to go to a neighbor’s baskets, even tried 3x, and I don’t see any baskets, just a building with an egg on it. I’ll stay away & see what happens. I’ve had this neighbor for quite a while, but if they are trying to pull a fast one, they will be history. For now, I’ll just believe it’s part of the basket glitch and give them the benefit of the doubt.
I just got my new Kindle today. Your information in perfectly timed. Thank you!… Oh, and my Simpsons are lime-ish yellow and not Simpsons-yellow on my screen. They don’t look that way on my Nook. Anyone else have that issue. I also can’t see as much of the town at once as I can on my Nook, if that makes sense.

Color, size, and few other things will vary by devices. I know my tablet shows a HUGE plot compared to my phone. Colors seem a lil more vibrant on my tab then phone too.
Hey fellow kindle person… 🙂 …I got mine right when the ValentinesDay event started…had the first gen fire and this one now is the same but HD…I absolutely love it and now I found out how to do screenshots…I’m going nuts!!! 🙂 LOL
