The week long speculated Superhero Event is Here! Currently it’s live on Google Play, iOS and Kindle!
Remember this is an App Store update, so you’ll have to check your stores for the latest version. If you don’t see it in your app store, and it’s out, hard close your store app and reopen it. If you still don’t see it restart your device. Should bring it up.
As always more details on the way as soon as we go through them…remember we’ll be updating as we go, so keep refreshing this post for the latest info.
Also note, Homer needs to be free for the first part.

WARNING: Mild Spoilers Ahead
First thing you’ll notice is Springfield has a new look & everything (dialogue included) is in Comic Book format! Pretty sweet looking touch!
As mentioned above you’ll need Homer free for the first part. He’ll have a 30 minute task and then you’ll unlock….PIE MAN!

Pie Man will then have a hilarious 4hr task, to throw pies at Springfielders. Lisa will then need to be free to start Part 3. You’ll then be tasked to build the Superior Squad HQ. This will cost you $500 and comes with Fall Out Boy! This is also a 4hr Build.
Once you’ve gotten Fall Out Boy you’ll see this video play…
At that point you’ll then see the Event stuff unlock! You’ll also be tasked with tapping Criminals to earn the game currency, Carbon Rods.
Details for all will below…
Now let’s get to the new stuff….
Superior Squad HQ- $500, 4hr Build. 5×6 in size. Comes with Fall Out Boy. This is upgradeable..
Wrecked Brown House- $50,000 (You can buy as many as you want. Currently NOT functioning as a building. No payout. Not tappable.)
Fruit Bat Signal- $5,000 (You can buy as many as you want)
Premium
Tar Pits- 175 Donuts. Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs. 11×9 Comes with Petroleus Rex
Crap Silo- 100 Donuts. Earns $150, 13xp/8hrs. 4×4. Comes with Spiderpig!
Superior Squad Member- 90 Donuts. Just like the hunting license from Halloween. This will double the rewards for capturing criminals in friends towns
New Characters
Fall Out Boy- Comes with the Superior Squad HQ
Petroleus Rex- Comes with the Tar Pits
Spider Pig (Plopper)- Comes with the Crap Silo
New Currency
The currency for this Event, at least right now, are Carbon Rods.
Collecting Carbon Rods will help you earn the prizes for Issue 1.
Issue 1 Prizes
Like other events, this one will be released in Phases. Here are the prizes you can win for Issue 1:
Arbitrarium- 400 .
Once unlocked you can earn more by tapping on the Criminals. Arbitrarium will help you upgrade the HQ. Each upgrade does various things, like gives you more currency etc.
Burns State Prison- 7,000
Clownface- 18,500
Other Issues
Again, this will be released in phases…4 total phases, 3 prizes per phase. So there will be a total of 12 prizes all together. Here are the release days for each phase (so far)
Issue 2- 2/24/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
Issue 3- 3/10/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
Issue 4- 3/24/15 0800 GMT (3am EST)
The understanding is that all of the other stuff will lock out on the 24th when Phase 4 launches, and the actual event itself will end on the 31st of March. BUT you’ll have to get everything else in game before the 24th.
You can also get a sneak peak of what prizes are for each phase by tapping on it in the game. However, here’s a quick rundown for Issues 2 and 3 (again Issue 4 is still a mystery at this point)

Criminals
Right now there’s only 1 type of Criminal in our games and they look like this:
Tapping on the Criminals will give you Carbon Rods (15 per Criminal to start) and occasionally Arbitrarium (see info on it above). Remember Carbon Rods will earn you prizes for Issue 1 and Arbitrarium will help you upgrade your HQ.
The spawn rate on the Criminals is at least 1/ 5 mins and you can have a Max in your town of 30 at one time.
HQ Upgrades
As with events past, you can upgrade your Superior Squad HQ for even more power & currency when tapping Criminals!
Once you’ve unlocked the Arbitrarium prize, you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade your Superior Squad HQ.
Arbitrarium looks like this and will occasionally pop out of Criminals (in addition to Carbon Rods) when tapped. Think Cog Wheels with Christmas.
Friend Visits
AFTER you’ve tapped your first 20 Criminals you’ll unlock the ability to go to friends towns and arrest/report criminals (to earn more Carbon Rods).
Here’s what you can do. You can either Arrest Criminals in their towns (Tapping on them) OR Report on them (tapping on the phones over Buildings).
Phones look like this 
For each arrest you make (tapping on Criminals) you’ll earn 3 Carbon Rods.
For every report you make (tapping on the Red Phones) you’ll earn 1 Carbon Rod.
You can tap 3 Criminals/town AND 3 Phones per town, for a total of 12 Carbon Rods/neighbor.
We’re checking into a couple of things at the moment…like number of actions/day you’re limited too & if the counts go down at all. Once we have numbers/details we’ll update this post with it.
Now…when you return to your Springfield if you see a red phone Radioactive Man’s Glowing Signal, if you tap on it right away you’ll get 4 Carbon Rods. (a gift from your neighbors) 
We’re also checking to see if this declines & by how much with time.
Note: As long as you’ve reached the part in the questline, AFTER you’ve cleared the first 20 Criminals…you’ll be able to earn rewards from both tapping phones and Criminals from visiting neighbors. Even if they haven’t started the event. Both will appear in their towns for you to tap. However, if you don’t clear the first 20 Criminals and reach the part of the questline telling you to go into neighbors towns and Arrest Criminals/Report on them…you won’t earn Carbon Rods from tapping Criminals, only from reporting on them. So make sure you clear the questline first BEFORE visiting neighbors.
Remember: If you buy the Membership Card you’ll earn double Carbon Rods in Neighbor’s Towns.

Did I not just say I want Fruitbatman to return? 😀 I mean, I’m just going to assume that he does, why give us the signal and put him in the collection but not give us the character? Am I right or am I right? Also…SPIDER PIG! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!! This is an event that I want spend many donuts on and being that tomorrow is my birthday I just might have to buy myself some.
Honestly…not sure at this point. So far I haven’t seen him. So not sure if he’ll come much later or not. But I agree doesn’t make sense if they don’t bring him back. And Happy Birthday (tomorrow)! 🙂

Has anyone else found that tapping criminals in friends towns DOES NOT give carbon rods?
If you’ve maxed out your friend actions for the day, they will not. You get 90 actions per day (or 3taps/neighbor for 30 neighbors), if you maxed out (even before the event hit) you won’t get Carbon from Criminals until it resets.
I’m having the same problem. Can only tap phones but not criminals???
You ran out of daily actions. Wait til your 24 hr clock resets and you see you have SIX actions available in a town.
After 30 something friends mine stopped i could still get it from the phones but not tapping criminals
I think I figured out the deal with the Issues. The little tab at the top of the prize window has the head of the last character unlocked in the current issue (Clownface at the end of one top of two, Dr. Colossus at the end of two top of three) and when you get through with their individual questlines, the next Issue unlocks.
I’m probably wrong. It’s pre-coffee logic. But could that be it?
Oh, no wait. Never mind. I just re read the release dates. Sorry, got too excited.
I’m still getting the old regular options when I visit neighbors. Anyone know why?

It’s not because I’ve reached my limit either. Havent visited anyone in a few days. There are just no criminals or phones or anything showing up in other people’s towns…

I am having the same issue. Completed all required quests but when I visit neighbors, no red phones. What gives?
Super Awesome Event! Love the comic script font and the subtle changes to the look of Springfield and Krustyland!
I love the noise when you click on the Crap Silo. I’m doing the ‘Producing Methane’ task, but I suppose it’s the same noise all the time.
Loving this event so far.
And I think it’ll be fairly straightforward to get the 18k carbon rods by the 24th, so I don’t see the stages overlapping.
Awesome!!! So excited! Had Homer on a 24hr task so have to wait another 10 hours, but can’t wait to get stuck in 🙂
Store the building associated with the Homer task and he will be freed to become super.
The 90 actions on criminals in neighbour towns refer to the tap on criminals only right? The red phone does not count towards the 90 right? So I can tap both criminals and buildings in each town right? What about the radioactive symbol in friend town? What would I get from tapping it?

Do certain buildings have a higher payout of rods (similar to previous events)?
Nope… one rod per building tapped.
I have updated last night and have completed the task built the HQ bulding and upgraded it twice I have tapped 20 robbers at least but all that is on my friends towns is money. There are no phones or robbers. I have not been given a quest to go to my friends towns yet so can do you know what maybe wrong ? Thanks
You just answered your question… you are not fully to neighbor visits. Make sure you are fully updated.
I only got this update this morning!! How longs it been out?. Scared I’m not gonna be able to do everything as I’m moving. No internet. Noooo

Just came out yesterday.
I’ve noticed that, while I get notifications of friends reporting crimes in my town, I can never actually click on anything to get rewards (no atom signs above buildings etc.). Anyone else having this issue?
That means they are either NOT updated or all buildings tapped.

Is there anyway to stop the siren notification? I have push notifications off but still get it….scared the bejesus out of me the first time it went off.lol
Make sure they are not only turned OFF in the game, but also your device settings. On Android they are in the Applications Manager under the app itself.
When I reached the point of visiting my neighbors I still had 3.5 hours until the 24-hour clock reset, but I was able to run through all my neighbors tapping phones (not criminals). Then, when the clock reset, I was able to revisit all my neighbors again, tapping both phones and criminals. About two-thirds of the way through I stopped getting carbon rods from criminals, but continued to get them from phones.
Correct. The criminals only go to 90 per 24 hrs. Buildings continue
I missed that trick. I was delaying visiting neighbours until I had caught my 20 criminals. I realised too late that there were 300 carbon rods going begging. Oh well, hopefully those 300 won’t cost me.
Thx for posting this trick. I realized what you were saying with 8 minutes to spare and I was able to collect from 95% of my neighbors before the clock reset and I started collecting again.

so i finished tapping on 20 criminals in my town, and when i go to my neighbor’s towns, i’m not seeing phones or criminals. am i missing something?
They may not have updated yet. OR…been tapped out by others.

This is so awesome! I was just telling my cousin (who introduced me to this game almost a year ago now) that “I hope they end up putting some stuff from The Movie in the game, like maybe the guys from Green Day and their barge for my polluted lake Springfield. And the pig crap silo, and spider pig! That would be awesome!” Well EA, thank you for listening… wait… How did you hear that? Hahaha! –MuMpY–
Looooooove it! Love all of it, but I feel like there’s one thing missing. Trust me to be the negative nancy haha. I really wish there was at least one female superhero character/costume in this event. There might be down the line but looking at it for what it is I am disappointed in that. They could have added one, and it’s not for the lack of.
For costumes they could have added Clobber Girl or The Jazzler for Lisa, The Vampirenda (seeing as Edna is still alive), The Entangler for Marge, BrainBaby if they made Maggie her own character, Hot Flash for Alice Glick if they introduced her (she may be dead, but she has been seen since in the show and they haven’t killed Edna off in the game… Yet) or even the many costumes of superheros from the plentiful of couch gags.
As for characters they could have added two members of the Superior Squad, Lure Lass and Weasel Women They also could have added Mademoiselle Meringue and her sidekick The Tart.
Yes most of these are from the comics, but it’d be a great time to introduce some of the comic universe in to the comic superhero themed event! After all that have incorporated stuff from other things such as the video-games!

This is awesome update! Am having a blast, can’t put tablet down. Husband just said I’m going to bed, why so early I asked, he said its 11:00 you’ve been in Springfield for 4 hours. Haven’t been this excited about game in long time.Again thank you to Alissa, Bunny & Wookiee for getting us info as quickly as you do, sure helps with strategy, you three are amazing!!! As soon as I saw the first picture on my iPhone from this update, I knew this was my favorite update since the game originally came out! Haven’t made it to the collection portion yet, but will in the next 2 hours. I’m so excited!!!
I just would just like a bit of clarification if possible please. With the 90 criminal action limit does that mean if you’ve already visited neighbors and are at the 1FP per action stage you will have to wait until the 24 hr reset to collect from criminals? I can still tap phones but I can’t even get cash from the criminals as I had started visiting neighbors. Just want to try to get the most from thus awesome event!! Also thanks TSTO for your super fast info gathering on all these events, you are so appreciated 🙂
Correct. You used up your daily actions and have to wait for the reset.
on my neighbor visits I’m only getting carbon rods for taps on phones, only getting cash when I tap criminals, is anyone else having this issue?
I’m not even getting cash for criminals, they just stand up straight.

Me too; I was checking here to see if this is the correct payout. Can someone add this to a section somewhere to clarify? I’m extra confused because I also hit friendship level 14 right at the start.
My guess is that because of the 6 actions we only get money from the criminals since those are the ones running out? But usually I can still collect money after I max out FP for the day so not entirely convinced.
