The Superhero Event is upon us and Springfield has been invaded with Superheros, creeping Criminals & a whole new Comic Book look! In the first Issue of the Superhero Event, you’ll see action (SPOILER Radioactive Man dies..), crime & pie! Lots and lots of pie!
So now that we’ve got ourselves a new event going on, you know what that means right? Time for another Turbo Tappin’! Here’s your guide for who to keep free, and for how long, as the game guides you through what to do during Issue 1 of the Superhero Event!
The Death of a Hero Pt. 1
Auto-start
Make Homer Fling Pies Indoors- 30m, Earns $40, 10xp
The Death of a Hero Pt. 2
Homer starts
Make Pie Man Fling Indiscriminate Pies at Springfielders- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
The Death of a Hero Pt. 3
Lisa starts
Build the Superior Squad HQ- $500, 4hr Build
The Death of a Hero Pt. 4
Fallout Boy starts
Make Fallout Boy Destroy the Mind Control Ray- 6s, Earns $35, 1xp
Make Sure NOTHING Bad Happens! This isn’t really a task…it’ll auto complete once you finish the first part.
A New Hero Rises Pt. 1
Fallout Boy starts
Tap on Criminals to Arrest Them- x20. Tap 20 Criminals, to earn Carbon Rods and progress in the story-line.
A New Hero Rises Pt. 2
Fallout Boy starts
Arrest Criminals in a Friend’s Town- x3. Tap 3 Criminals in a neighbor’s town.
Report Crimes in a Friend’s Town- x3. Tap 3 Red Phones in a neighbor’s town.
A New Hero Rises Pt. 3
Fallout Boy starts
Make Fallout Boy Devise New Exclamations- 8hrs, Earns $275, 70xp
Make Fallout Boy Practice His Moves- 4hrs, Earns 10 Carbon Rods, 45xp
Unlock Arbitrarium
Auto start
Unlock Arbitrarium- Collect 400 Carbon Rods to Unlock the Arbitrarium.
Superior-ior Squad HQ Pt. 1
Auto start after unlocking Arbitrarium
Upgrade Your Superior Squad HQ- x1. Collect 4 Arbitrarium to upgrade your HQ from level 0 to level 1.
Once upgraded above level 0 your HQ will start to earn Carbon Rods/4hrs. Each level you increase (that we’ve found so far) your Carbon Rod amount earned will increase by 10. So that’s 10 more Carbon Rods that will pay out from the HQ every 4 hrs with each upgrade.

Upgrade your Superior Squad HQ to Level 5
Unlock Burns State Prison
Auto start
Collect 7,000 Carbon Rods to Unlock Burns State Prison
Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 1

Place the Burns State Prison- 4s Build
Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 2
Fallout Boy starts
Send a Super Hero to Attack a Felon- You can send characters to attack the Felon. You can send Spider Pig, Fallout Boy, Pie Man and Fruit Batman to attack. This takes 4hrs per attack and you can only send 1 character at a time to attack. (Note: Spider Pig will take 3hrs to complete it…perk of buying a premium character).
It’ll take approx 3 hits (at least for the first one) to defeat the felon. So you’ll have to send a character to attack for 4hrs each time. Again, you can only send 1 character at a time. This will pay out Carbon Rods as the reward. We will have a full detailed post about this up soon.
Note the Prision will Spawn more Felons at a rate of 1 Felon every 8hrs

Auto start
Defeat Felons- x3. Remember Felons will Spawn from the Prison every 8hrs. You’ll see 1 appear every 8hrs.
Unlock Clownface
Auto start
Unlock Clownface- Earn 18,500 Carbon Rods to unlock Clownface
Origin Story Pt. 1
Auto start once you’ve unlocked Krusty
Reach Level 7 and Build the Krusty Burger
Make Krusty Wear the Clownface Outfit- You’ll find it in your inventory
Origin Story Pt. 2
Clownface starts
Make Clownface Swap Real Diamond With a Fake- 6s, Earns $35, 1xp
Super Bonus
Auto start once you’ve unlocked all of the Carbon Prizes
Collect Carbon Rods- 3,000 Rods required. For every 3,000 Rods collected you’ll have a shot to earn more DONUTS! Just like the bonus level ups! (and other bonus games) for every 3,000 Carbon Rods you’ll have a shot for 1, 2 or 3 donuts in the prize boxes.
Whew and that concludes all of the available details for Issue 1 of the Superhero Event!
As you can see this first stage is basically giving you the basics. What you need to do, how you earn more Carbon Rods & various ways to use the prizes you’ve won! More details will be available when Issue 2 hits on February 24th!

Clobber Girl I’m not seeing at the moment, might be something EA’s hiding. Not sure. As far as Bartman, only indication is he’s there. Doesn’t show how he hits yet. So my guess is it has something to do with Issue 4

Hi! I can collect money from all my buildings and not need to save any for neighbor’s because of this event, right?
With this event, I love that we get to see buildings animated again that do not get used anymore!

Just had a rash of people vandalising my town in the last 24 hours, despite the fact that the vast majority of my neighbours come from the “Don’t Vandalise” group. Is this because I’m behind in the event, and they are tapping on the buildings to report crimes, but it’s showing up in my Springfield as graffiti?
Until you reach the point of fully getting the event it’ll still show as Vandalism. I’m honestly thinking most people didn’t know you were behind and it would show up. Since it shows as Red Phones when they visit you. More details are on the Vandalism thread (added an update at the very top)

Must have Spider Pig!!!
So far, this is WAY better than a Valentine update! I went ahead and got Spider Pig without waiting for a “Should I buy?” from TSTOA. I wasn’t sure but he is a character with tasks! I hope we’ll get a chance to pick up the Fruitbat Man skin for mr. Burns and Bartman skin for Bart. I missed them before. Waiting for word on the Tar Pit. This has potential to be my favorite even so far. I was profoundly bummed out about the weak Valentines Day & Stonecutter rehash, but… SUPERHEROES!!!

How do we get the Fruit Bat?
I only have 1 game where I don’t have him…and that’s the game I’m playing at normal speed on. So, so far I don’t see him. Not sure if he unlocks once the Prison is built or if he’s just not coming back…still checking it out. As soon as I find out I will for sure let you (and everyone) know 🙂
That would be awesome to get the Burn’s skin with the Burn’s Prison (…however, ironic that may seem) LOL!
I am curious as if any other players are having the same problem as me. I have updated and played through the questline completly. I currently have a level 3 HQ and about 3500 carbon rods. But I am only getting criminals in my town. When visiting friends I only can tap normal things, no criminals or phones appear anywhere in their town. Thought it might be a glich and go away but no. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Try going to Krustyland and coming back to your Springfield. Sometimes that helps to clear up any glitches. If that doesn’t work try a hard close and restart. If they’re still not showing it’s time to contact EA.

Building + playable character with a full set of tasks. 100 donuts is about the cheapest it gets for such. As Alissa remarked in her “Should I Buy Plopper?” post, only Akira is just as cheap.
Apparently Spider Pig is convincing quite a few formerly freemium-only players to go premium just for him.

Any one else having trouble adding neighbors? I just get a failed to add message and previous friend request vanished.
It happens from time to time. Try a hard close and restart TSTO. If that doesn’t work, then I suggest trying the Origin Desktop application.

They say to collect the alarm notifications quickly to earn more game currency, but I havent noticed an increase in the amount. Maybe im missing something? But so far im loving this update! Especially the lurking criminals. They make me giggle. (Missing the notifications we had with the elves saying we caught them all though)
Starts at 4 and then decreases by 1 every 4hrs you don’t collect. So you should collect within the first 4hrs. However, it’ll never go below 1.
This may be the absolute best update ever. I love all of the little changes in my town! Sad, though, that Radioactive Man died. I hope he makes a comeback!
One question (and I did due diligence to make sure no one else already asked), is there a pop up or anything to let us know we’ve tapped all of our criminals (like the Feds at Halloween)? I’m never sure if I’ve buffed and bashed all of them.

Looks like a drone to me….kind of a small version of that big Hover Copter we got a while back. In fact, I’m considering taking that out of storage and putting it by the H.Q. building!

Like most people, I hide friends not playing the game any longer. Nice thing about this event: I’ve noticed that I can click on their inactive towns for alarms and criminals! I’m sure it won’t last long, as they’re not around to clear my taps, but it’s nice while it lasts!
I’ve had this problem the last two big events. I got to the point that I got rid of a lot of neighbors that hadn’t played in two weeks. By the 3rd week they hadn’t played I just got rid of them also. I’m lacking on neighbors now. I still have few that haven’t started the event yet but I sure am glad that those red phones are still available. I’ll give them just a week this go around and then look for more neighbors.
When is the Super Heroes event supposed to “auto start?” I checked in at 7:30am Eastern time and got a 24-hour task for Cletus and nothing else. So I put everyone else on 24 hours too.
It doesn’t auto start….you have to download the update from the app store. The dialogue will auto start once you’ve done that.

Getting frustrated. Scrolled thru my neighbor list and almost half of them have all zeros. I haven’t been getting very many visits either, even thou I visit EVERY day, regardless of event or not. Normally doesn’t bother me but this event requires neighbor interaction. Does the zeros mean they haven’t updated yet? Any suggestions? What would you do? Thanks.

Give it a day or so. Some people are slow to pick it up, heck some people don’t even realize there’s an update. Usually within a day EA will force you to download the update or you cannot continue to play. That’s often when a lot of people realize they never downloaded it.
Ah, makes sense. Thanks Alissa! I really didn’t want to go thru a whole neighbor list change again. I finally got a good 100 neighbor list, no tagging, always things to tap on and wanted to keep them. Thanks for the advice. I will be patient. However….
They would know about the update if they used your site. I don’t even open the game until I check with ya’all first, lol.

Huh. Everyone I visited was loaded with criminals and phones even if they haven’t played in weeks. Loved tapping on things i rarely see animated.

Well that’s a shame PG, I’m throwing a big Pi Day Party at my library so it’s been on my mind. I’m thrilled that Homer has a “learn about Pi” job!

OK… I don’t know if this is the right place to post this… but the ALARM notification sound is HORRIBLE! Can someone please contact EA and tell them that we often have these devices in our bedrooms and that alarm is loud enough to wake the dead!

Oh good, so I’m not the only one getting this alarm. It sounds like a brief siren sound. I had it occur three times last night, around 3:30a, 4:45a, and 5:30a. After the second alarm, I finally figured out it was coming from my phone and buried it under a pile of clothes before the third alarm came on. What the hell??!! This is uncalled for. I like to read the notifications on my phone, but I don’t need the sounds. I hope EA figures they we’re getting tired of this crap. (I assume the alarms are when friends visit? I wasn’t sure that Tapped Out was causing this until I read these comments.)
If you’re phone works like my iPad and Kindle Fire HD, you don’t have to turn off all notifications to turn off the ones from TSTO. There should be an area in the settings where you can specify what kinds of notifications, if any, you want to get for specific applications. So, instead of railing against EA, do a little exploring and/or research to find out how to set your device to suit your preferences!
Any idea why I sometime get handshakes above my buildings and other times its the radioactive signal? Having lots of fun with this. I do feel bad that I can’t accept more friend requests BC I’m full. Have fun everybody
Handshakes are from players who haven’t yet updated. Believe it or not some people don’t realize there’s an update in the app store. They’re also from people who don’t wait until the game tells you to visit neighbors to collect Carbon Rods. If you do it before hand it’ll appear as a handshake. Give it about a day or so, once the forced update kicks in (where you must download the new update from the app store to continue playing TSTO) handshakes should be gone.
I’m *still* getting quite a few handshakes from regular, i.e. daily, players. Hard to believe they spend 40 minutes or so every day visiting neighbours and not once checking out this site! (And they know it exists, it’s where I got all of my neighbours from). Oh well, guess the forced update will hit them soon enough – I just wish I could contact them to let them know there’s an update to be had.
The fighting the felon thing is veeerrryyyy interesting. Looking forward to unlocking the prison to do so!
