Sorry this is a little delayed…it was dinnertime here. (still not a fan of these late in the day updates EA!)
Anywho…looks like the Tap Ball Removal update has hit our App Stores. So if you’re all done with Tap Ball and would like your Springfield to go back to normal download the update. BUT if you’d like to continue the Tap Ball fun you can put off downloading the update until it forces you to (which is usually in 24hrs).
If you choose not to update right now, remember you’re playing on borrowed time. Once the game forces you to update (again it’s usually within 24hrs) you will be locked out of your game (ie stopping ALL Progress) until you update. Which means if you don’t cash in your Amateur Bucks before it forces you to update, you’ll miss out. So proceed with caution!
And now…there’s a little bit of Spoiler Info leaked on Amazon for the next upcoming event on TSTO. Because it’s posted on Amazon, and comes directly from EA we’re going to post it on Addicts. BUT we’ll do so below the fold, so those that don’t want to know, don’t have to. However, if you’d like to know…click below.

Looks like Springfield Heights and Cookie Kwan are coming! A major TSTO Expansion is on it’s way (no it’s not live yet…soon i’m sure)…

After the update, my character icons in the top left corner (the one you tap to select the next character) are all messed up. Sometimes it is blank, sometime it shows the wrong character, and sometimes it shows a totally strange image (like the back of someone’s head or their legs). Tapping on it still works, but I can’t tell who it’s going to select.
Anybody else having this issue? Should I uninstall and re-install? I’m on Android.
Try uninstall/reinstall.
I have the same issue, but it doesn’t really impact me because if I’m looking for someone specific I use the town hall.
My favourite so far has been a picture of the head of the ice sculpture turning into homer
I’m waiting until I’m forced to update to craft as many fences as I can but for those who have- is the Homertron still animated? Do players in their Tap Ball skins still have tasks that can animate the The Duff Beer…Stupid Flanders Park marquee?
Yup still animated. Homer has the invent tap ball rules that takes place outside the stadium that lights it up

Alissa, first: you are doing a great job over here! pls keep going 🙂 i am also collecting bonuts (and fences, and stadium lights) until i am forced to update. but then again, i am excited about springfield heights xD do you have any clue (based on reasons) if i could update the app on my tablet (but not on my phone) and by doing so, collecting bonuts on the phone while experiencing springfield heights on my tablet? 😡 thanks in advance for your answer!
Nope can’t double dip like that. Once your account updates, you can’t go backwards
Well I’ve been playing tsto for quite awhile now and I’m on level 51. It’s still hard for me to make a lot of money. Can anyone help with that? It would be really helpful because it takes me forever to build new stuff and raise the money for it.

I understand that there will be “50 squares” of new land. But I get the impression that a lot of people are thinking that means 50 new squares for Springfield.
I am wondering if that 50 squares is really for a completely new area…more a la KrustyLand” rather than more land for Springfield proper.
Either way doesn’t matter to me. Still very much looking forward to it.
I kind of figured something big was coming – last year at this time it was the Clash Of Clones event, which took 2 months and led into Halloween season. Would love to see Cookie Kwan, among others!
And yes, I also had a few problems with crashing & server issues with the new update, but that seems to be back to normal again.
I always like more land, but always seems to come at a time where I am *almost* at my “money in the bank goal”. Sigh. Lol… My goal is to amass 25 Million on the bank, and sell my house farm for another 10.8 million, and then coast on the funds, but every time I get close, something major drops! 🙂
I am not updating yet. Just got a new round of Bonuts and added another fence to my stadium. My notifications went off at 4am last night (I hate that after I turned it off so many times) so assume something was pushed, but was suprised to still be on the Tap Ball this morning. Many are having problems with the new update, so I will continue to Bonut as long as I can. Why not?
I will miss the tapping on all my building to collect money earned to spend on land, etc, because that did not matter throughout the event. Now I can only collect parts of it to leave something for my neighbors to tap on for visits. I am conflicted over this. I need money to purchase new land but need to leave something for my friends. Where is the happy medium? I know, some here and some there, yah, yah, yah… I just don`t like that part…
The interest in Krustyland was a fail. I always put money on those with talent that can, but failed. The next time around they learned and performed. This next adventure should be interesting…

Ever since the update, my game crashes before it can even open. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, restarting my iPad… Running out of options here. Anybody else having this problem? If so, how do you fix it?
It’s going around, in particular on iOS Devices. Best advice is to contact EA.

So psyched about this… my mansion section is full and I have more that I can’t fit, so I’ve been tempted to nuke everything but I like other parts of my town so I’ve been hesitating. 50 squares will allow me to move my mansions up there (hopefully) and have some room to fancy them up, while giving me more room in my regular Springfield. A perfect way to add more land.
I’d still kill for a Krustyland event though. I visit KL daily… free XP and donut chances are always worth it.
Any guess as to when the new update will come? 1, 2, 4 weeks?
My guess is next week..if not early august
Ooooh, this looks interesting, so many possibilities! I’ve seen some of the ideas being mooted about moving all the mansions there, which would certainly make things a lot easier for space in the main part of town.
At least if Amazon already has this info to accidentally display in their App store the update can’t be too far away.
Meanwhile the money mountain is still sitting in my task book, I haven’t started it yet and with this on the horizon then there may be a long wait before I do.
This game got quiet… I miss my sports fans!!!

So, basically…hold on to my cash and donuts and don’t send anyone on 24-hour tasks. I am $750k away from finishing the money mountain, but I know that as soon as I relent and send Burns to finish it, this new area will open. And it’ll require Burns. It’s par for the course so far with our events…get bored of waiting so I send someone off, and an hour later, “surprise!” New event 🙂

So, that means the sea is to the South? Like, the Gulf of Mexico?
That would make Springfield a southern state *grumble*. I thought Springfield was essentially somewhere in Oregon. 🙁 Let’s hope that this “sea” is actually a bay or sound. 🙂
My game keeps crashing. I was just wondering if it had something to do with the new update and anyone else is experiencing it. I already contacted EA but no help yet 🙁

Mine too. I sent in a bug report this morning.
Mine has crashed once. I have some of my characters in their Stone Cutter skins, and there is a glitchy thing going on with these characters when I send them on tasks. I’m wondering if the two things are related?
I could not get into mine for several hours last night. Got in this morning but it has crashed several times.
It’s exciting! But Do you think there is a chance the building and decorating count will go up? *fingers crossed*
Has anyone else been having problems with the game crashing since downloading the update? Happening on both iPhone and iPad.
It’s going around, best thing I can tell you to do is contact EA let them know. It’s a bug that needs to be fixed, the more people that report it the quicker they are to respond.
I’m not a fan of having to travel back and forth. Because of this, I never go to Krustyland.
Do you realize that by not going to KL that you’re giving up any chance of winning doughnuts at Sideshow You? You get 5 doughnuts every 300th time that you play the game.
If you visit once à day, that’s roughly 5 donuts a year. Honestly I’m too lazy for that !
Your math is off. Each balloon popped counts as a separate tap. Once a day means 5 donuts every 100 days, so 15-20 donuts per year. I visit twice a day (only takes a minute or so!), so 5 donuts every 50 days, for 35+ donuts per year.
Also not a fan. I don’t mind it too much for “neighbors”…but I’m not my own neighbor, EA. (Well, I am, but that’s a different story…)
Just me getting heaps of crashes while visiting neighbors? 🙁
Couldn’t even log-in all morning (CET).
Same here (on Android, others seem to get it on iOS as well), also happened to me a lot in the last week of the tapball event to the point it slowed down my phone so much I had to kill the progress. It’s a Galaxy S5 so it shouldn’t be that demanding on performance

Has anyone considered the possibility that Springfield Heights might just be a land expansion like the beach/boardwalk area of Springfield rather than a separate area like Krustyland? The description is very ambiguous, but from a logical standpoint, I personally think that it will be an additional part of our town like the boardwalk. Krustyland being separate makes sense since it’s a location that is far outside of Springfield, but it just doesn’t make much sense to have a section of Springfield not be in Springfield.
Ah well, I guess time will tell…
I think you make a valid point. They may very well free up the mountain spaces for building on.
The version of TSTO which Amazon says has the Springfield Heights update is 4.15.5 which is the version I have now, so either the description is wrong, EA has uploaded it to the server and is just waiting for a date to come, or they haven’t uploaded it and have just updated the app in preparation.
I think someone at EA accidentally released the notes for the future update with the latest update.
I’m worried that this will be like Krustyland, I still go there but I don’t do much. I hope it is like the Squidport and it stays in our actual Springfield’s as I have been saving the mansions and any nice shops and buildings for an area that will be fancier than the rest. This sounds like it xouldmgomwith them so I hope it is in my actual town. I’m excited for this though, I haven’t been playing when an expansion was added so this will be fun(I hope). Looking forward to Cookie too, I have some donuts but I’ll save them for this. I hope she’s freemium but I think I would buy her if she was a reasonable premium. May be lots of new buildings and things though. I wanted to wait anyway to make a good decision and not waste my donuts.
Very excited about Springfield Heights!!! Any expansion to the game is AOK as far as I am concerned. I’m surprised by the number of people commenting that they never visit their Krustyland – call me weird but I visit mine several times a day. What’s not to like about it- you get additional XP, tickets which you can convert into money and occasional donuts from the Sideshow You game 😀
But you get more tickets if you visit less frequently, like no more than once a day.

Yeah I have my money pool behind my mansion to and next to that in the garden is the burns money pile and the Smithers gold statue holding mr burns medusa head is at the foot of the money pool. Trying to have as much gold in that area as possible lol. Also can’t wait for expansion. I can have all my premium characters n rich patrons in one area code n the rest in the other. Like in the episode where Springfield split in two. Gotta keep out the rif raff lol. Maybe they’ll add garbage wall pieces and I can place at edge of the land for that right look which was in the episode.

Like skins these will be “voices”. I’m sure others are on board with you. His rake task is just not as much fun without “[mutter/groan]”.

Could have just been down a bit, it happens sometimes if they’re doing work on the server at night. Is it up for you now?
