Popping in with another bug/glitch report for TSTO…this time related to the Springfield Heights update. Because one centralized placed where you guys can report your issues and see that you’re not alone in them…is better than issues scattered all over various posts…and feeling like you’re the only one with the problem. 🙂
Before we get into it just a note, yesterday I went over some issues that were happening since Tap Ball was removed, some of these are still going on. So if you don’t see your issue covered in this post, try checking out yesterdays crash report post to see if it’s covered there. (You can view yesterday’s post here)
So now, let’s tackle some of the common issues we’re seeing popup since Springfield Heights hit our towns including (but not limited to): missing donuts, land errors, missing currency and more! So let’s dive in shall we?
Let’s start with the big one…MISSING DONUTS!
There are LOADS of reports from you guys in the comments about your donuts going missing since the launch of Springfield Heights. And from what I understand EA is inundated with complaints about the missing donuts. Good. Keep flooding them. The more reports they get, the quicker it’ll get resolved.
So here’s the deal with the missing donuts….yes they’re really missing. No you’re not going crazy. EA IS aware of the situation and is currently working on a patch for it. Hopefully the patch will hit in 24-48hrs. In the meantime I still recommend contacting them and letting them know what’s happened in your game, just in case the patch doesn’t work at least there’s proof you contacted them.
So basically you’ve got two options at this point: 1- Contact EA (which I recommend doing) or 2- Do nothing and wait till the patch hits.

Land Error
Some of you are reporting seeing this message in your game (or some version of it): “Land Error Contact Support”.
If this happens to you first try uninstalling/restarting your device/reinstalling TSTO. See if this helps clear it (could just be a bad file). If that doesn’t work, you’ve got to do what the message says and Contact EA.
We have seen a few reports of this, so if you’re getting it you’re not alone. But from what we can see you do have to contact EA to get it cleared.

Missing Springfield Heights Currency

Seeing reports from a few of you that you’re randomly missing Springfield Heights Currency. You’ll have 200, not buy anything and then be down to 180.
If this is happening to you…stop and think for a minute. Ask yourself if you’ve recently crafted Smart Devices. Each Smart Device you craft requires 2 and 1. So if you’ve recently acquired some smart devices…that could be why your currency has gone missing.
IF you don’t have any smart devices, heck if you haven’t unlocked the Springfield Institute of Technology…then stop and think if you recently unlocked a character to complete the task to get items. Remember after the initial 1-2 characters in each building it requires Springfield Heights Currency to unlock more. So that could also be where it’s going.
IF you don’t have an smart devices, if you haven’t recently unlocked any new characters to get currency…then contact EA.

Sending Characters on Currency Earning Tasks And Not Getting the Right Payout In Return
Seeing reports from a few of you that you send characters on a currency earning task that should yield 5 (for example) coffees, and you’re bank is only increasing by 3.
If this is happening to you follow the same procedures for the missing currency above…check to see if you created any smart devices or unlocked any new characters inbetween the time waiting for the currency task to complete.
IF you don’t have an smart devices, if you haven’t recently unlocked any new characters to get currency…then contact EA.

FPs Missing from Clearing Handshakes
Seeing reports from a few of you, and noticing in my own town, that when you tap on handshakes in your town they’re not dropping FPs (
) like the used to.
First, it’s not every building. Some buildings are still awarding them, but it is most of them. Not sure if this is a permanent change or just a bug that’ll get fixed with the next download.
For now my recommendation is to just sit tight with it and see what happens. But if it’s really bugging you contact EA.

I Can No Longer Spray Paint A Neighbor
It’s not just you. It looks like, at least for now, Vandalism Actions have been disabled. So you can no longer Spray Paint Moe’s, Town Hall or Springfield Elementary.
I have a feeling this has something to do with a vandalizing glitch that caused games to crash. So I have a feeling it will come back up eventually. So for now just sit tight…
And that my friends completes the first Springfield Heights Glitch/Bug report. The biggest issue is those missing donuts, and I can assure you they’re working no restoring them! So let’s hope they’re back soon!

So I am up to the part where you have to catch sideshow bob 5 times. I caught him three times but now it say -135/5 completed. what the heck?

I might be the missing something but I can’t seem to be able to purchase any Springfield heights building or decorations since the monorail update. I still want to continue that line. Where do I find the icon to purchase things?

Go to the menu just the same… when you see the BIG GIANT HUGE MONORAIL PICTURE… swipe it to the left with your finger. You will notice the Menu keeps going. The Springfield Heights Menu is still right there were you left it. 😉
Second option, where the 3 icons are to the left… swipe the directional arrow in the middle to the right to fully open ALL menu tabs. Go to the Springfield Heights Section Icon from there. Can’t miss the icon as it says “Springfield Heights”. 😉

Hello. It seems that the solution to the issue of storing SH buildings allowing people to go over limits is to prevent people from storing these buildings at all. I’m annoyed by this because I like to store while rearranging areas and also because I don’t really like the SH buildings (theyre out of proportion with regular buildings which makes integration tricky) so I’d like to be able to pack a few away. Any ideas as to whether we might eventually be able to pack them up?

This isn’t a big issue, it’s not like it’s stopping the game from playing but I’m curious to see if others have this issue too. When starting the game, it usually plays the little theme song and eventually stops. It replays it when coming back from a friends town or so. However, I can’t remember since when, probably since the TapBall event, maybe before, the theme song no longer plays when I enter my town. It does play when coming back from a friends town but it doesn’t play when I first start the game. Like I said, not a big issue that demands top priority but just wondering if there might be a fix to this perhaps? Yes the music and volume settings are up and already did a re download of the game but it didn’t go back to normal.
You can always address this with EA. I know that many recently have complained about the noise levels of the game. More notifications.
Lol – I haven’t had the music turned on since a few minutes into the first day that I started playing TSTO over a year ago! I find that the music in most games drives me crazy after a short while because it’s so repetitive and, even when I like it, can become an earworm all too easily.
I wonder how many people here play with the music on? I know some folks turn the sound of altogether (a bit of a shame, since there’s some pretty funny dialog lines), but, of those who leave the sound on, I wonder how many leave the music on, too?
I’m sorry if you’ve already commented on this topic. I scanned through and didn’t see anything. Soon after Springfield Heights started, where possible I bought 10 of each building. I put some out to upgrade and kept some in storage. After a while I found that even though I already had 10, I had the opportunity to by more. Currently I have 21 Classic Mansions, 12 Valet Parking. Today I had the opportunity to buy 6 Deluxe Condos which I did. Was super excited because I thought is was another glitch. THEN I realized 6 were missing from my storage. I had 10 Modern Mansions, but now I only have 9 and one available to purchase. Any idea what’s going on?

I lost level 56 and game put me back to 55. Had purchased and built required items. Items currently locked in storage. Used the above link and took Alissa’s and Bunny’s advise to speak with someone. Got call back in less than minute. Very nice, polite and helpful over phone. Unfortunately they didn’t have a backup with me on level 56 to restore me to. Good news is that they gave me 200 donuts as compensation.
Wow – I think I’d be more than willing to do over a level for 200 donuts! 🙂
I tried contacting support, but I’m NOT signing up to their website…. They should reply to the Customer Support email provided on the Play Store
Because of their negligence and stupidity I went ahead and reported the game to Google for damaging my data…. I also reported the game to authorities for fraud, the dumb developers should NOT release updates that don’t work,. I’m hoping Google removes the game from the Play Store and bans EA
I wonder if you realize what the log in there is. Let me explain. You are NOT signing up on their website, you are essentially just logging into your game. Which I hope you have saved to an Origin account to keep all your progress you make while playing the game. That is it. Nothing special. Just exactly the same as logging into your game, nothing more.
My springfield heights doesnt work I have burns oil and the red blazer place built i have made the tunnel but it says my storage is 0/0. what should i do?
Follow the questline, it will guide you. Don’t get ahead of what the game is telling you to do at first.
For some reason the notification for spending donuts has been turned off in my game for the fourth time since the SH update. Now, if I accidentally hit something in the game twice, it automatically spends my donuts to complete the task without asking me for a confirmation. In the past I was able to go into “privacy settings” and turn on the notification but today that option seems to be gone. It takes me to an EA webpage with my account info but no option to turn on a confirmation before my donuts are spent. I have accidentally blown through quite a few donuts in the 30 second task in the SH Furniture Shop. Am I missing something? Did something change? Long time player at Level 56.

Usually every Level Update it resets. Also if you check the “don’t ask again” option when you buy something it will turn it back off.
Thanks Bunny, your advice did the trick. I was looking under “privacy setting” when I should have been looking for the cog wheel. Thanks you very much for your quick reply.
I contacted EA when my donuts first went missing. They opened a case and told me they were aware of the issue. I contacted them today and they claim I have no missing donuts!?!? How do I get them back???
I have played tapped out for over two years and I am reading many of you got your donuts returned. If EA doesn’t return the donuts they took from me, I think I’m over and done with this. What a waste of my life!!!
You have to be patient and try again and again until you get them back. Many players here had to try several times before they got them back
Try again and see if you get someone else. They have the ability to look at your account and see what you spent vs what you had vs what’s there now..
Hi. Visited a friends world. Tapped on random stuff for sound effects. Tapped on a Heights swimming pool (not lake) and it gave me the option to upgrade it for cash!? (20,000). Curious, I continued and managed to upgrade it twice?! Have I missed something. Should this be possible?
Yea it’s a glitch that’s been going around since the pool hit a few months ago.
The bad news is, you just spent YOUR cash to upgrade THEIR pool.

I know you are not EA and I know you cannot do anything to help me directly, but if you are willing you can listen (or in this case read) to me vent a bit.
As many others I too lost donuts after SH but I, rather naïvely, decided to trust that EA would send out a patch in due time. After several days of hearing “I contacted them and they refunded” I decided to contact EA myself. I have done so a few times before without any problems.
I created a ticket and was advised to open a chat window – with a wait of less than five minutes. While I didn’t quite believe that, I chose to believe that the wait wouldn’t be long. Several hours later I close the window because I can no longer waste my time sitting in front of the computer.
Yesterday I went back to EA and “resumed” my case – meaning once again I was advised to open a chat window with only “five minutes” to wait. Today it’s been 24 hours since I opened that window and it’s still sitting there telling me to “please wait” while they put me through to a game advisor. My computer hasn’t been turned off, I haven’t reloaded the chat window (however I have opened other chat windows), and my internet hasn’t acted up. In short nothing has happened, as far as I can tell, that could have thrown me out of the queue.
I have reached the point where I will not play the game any more until this is resolved, though I know full well that EA could care less about that. I just find it so incredibly rude of them to basically steal their customers’ money and then not do anything to correct the issue automatically. To me it seems they are hoping that many will just forget about it and buy more donuts instead. Well, I won’t do that. I guess I’ll find some other non-EA game to waste my time and money on.

If you’re in the U.S., never use any option other than the phone option…that’s usually the best, most effective way to contact them.
Try calling them “fresh” – do not resume your open ticket. Most people who are having the best results getting their donuts back have done so via phone, as the Addicts here have said many times. As they’ve also said many times, keeping calling back and/or asking to have your case escalated until you get someone who will refund your donuts.
OK, but this happened from the US on 29 July 2015:
“Waited until today to contact EA about 150 missing doughnuts. Had a Chat session with Nikesh within one minute of getting to their website. (Had a choice of Chat or Talk, but not email.) Within about two minutes she had given back the 150 doughnuts. Very easy to work with. She stated again that they were working on the problem so we’re not going to purchase any for a while.”
So try all options available.
Neil – The operative word was “usually.” And since Anna was having a very bad time using chat, it seemed that another approach was worth trying.
Thanks for clearing that up, Sandra. We were focused on your first operative word, “never”. But that couldn’t be right because people have clearly had excellent results with Chat too (we got 150 doughnuts back in five minutes with Chat). So modifying it to “usually” was the right call. Well done.
I more or less had that happen to me in Dec when they had the Xmas donuts for sale and then it glitches out. I purchased $10 worth and when it reloaded, it crashed and I never got my donuts. I tried the chat method and it did the same thing you described, except I didn’t change windows (that will kick you out on a phone). I did that multiple times waiting over an hour each time and eventually gave up. I even tried calling them and essentially had the same issue. Frustrated, I jotted it down to come back to eventually.
After this most recent glitch with the game, and losing some earned items, I created a new chat. They worked on my current issue and then I mentioned the open tickets I had for he I issue in Dec. They offered to replace my donuts right away & I just needed to tell them now many I had bought.
Anyway, point being, if you know how many you lost, try again later and maybe you’ll have better luck. Maybe try on a different device? When it said it was connecting me with a specific person, I cycled through (backed out and in) till I got an American sounding name (if you get Amber, she’s gold). You could always try your luck with whoever you get and if the person doesn’t help, just create another ticket and try again. Most will help you. Good luck.
Luckily, so far I have no issues with donuts and items so far, but graphic sucks. Condos I upgraded are constantly blinking and there is this thing with Ned’s children heads appearing instead of flowers… which I find particularly disturbing 😨😨😨. Any idea when EA will fix these?(too bad I don’t have an option to insert the screenshot here)
That’s been going on since the game launched.
I made 10 valet parking stored 9. Now my inventory says I only have 7 and there are 2 more available to buy in the store. I’ve already purchased and built these where did they go?! Anyone else having these issues?
It’s going around…the good news is you didn’t lose any Real Estate Points so it’s basically just a chance to get more cheap.
Maybe I’m just tired but it says “place flying car” but I can’t find it anywhere?
If you’ve won it it should be in your inventory. Check the full inventory list, not the categories.
So since the ice cream update the L.A. Body Works in Springfield Heights keeps showing the yoga mats work to be done icon above the store. I have all available freemium characters unlocked and working. This is the only building where this icon is bouncing.
Anyone else with this problem?
I have this problem too with the yoga mats still appearing after I have everyone working. I noticed that fat Tony used to have a job there but now it’s snake. If fat Tony is walking around my Springfield the yoga mats show. If I put him on a task it doesn’t show. But he doesn’t have any tasks that create yoga mats. So it doesn’t make sense. They probably forgot to unlink him from the yoga mat job after the switched it to snake.

Fat tony used to be part of the airiness Stduos Charachter List but was replaced by “Snake’!
So if you have Fat Tony not doing anything then the icon will be stuck there showing up!
Just sent Fat Tony on some task and Poof, the icon will go away till needed.

I only find now I must have been missing several buildings before… so every time that happens I did build new ones… Max is 10. some I already got 16 buildings of 1 sort now… pretty weird lol
Help! I stored some (8 to be exact) of my deluxe condos and still have 2 placed. Now my condos are locked in my storage they say *Formula req. underneath the picture in the storage box. also in the store it says I can buy another condo but then I would have over the limit of 10. Is this just another glitch we have to wait for an update for?
I ended up storing all the delux condos (my last 2) it locked those up so I built the 11 deluxe condo stored that one now I am able to access all of them again. And I have 11 placed in my Springfield.
Mi can’t get springfield heights. I have Mr. Burns and i updated it. I can even see the entrance and stuff but the quest never popped up. Can anyone help? Thanks.

No more donuts visiting friend’s towns??
I use to find 1 – 2 donuts per 100 visits. It was the only reason I kept visiting friend’s towns.
Since the update of the new area I have visited about 500 friends and haven’t found a single donut. Has anyone else experienced this?
BTW, I’m at max friendship level and have the Angel reward.

I’m not Bunny, but I got 2 donuts visiting neighbors just yesterday. I think you’re just hitting a dry spell…it happens.
I called this morning and they wanted me to send them a screenshot for proof of purchase. After spending hundreds of dollars on this game I don’t feel this was a very good way to treat customers. They took my purchased items from me so why should I have the burden to show proof of purchase? I am considering not playing game anymore and at minimum refuse to support with purchases until they fix situation.
Try contacting them again to get someone else…
Scheduled a call back and was called in less than a minute. I spoke to very nice rep. He refunded my 750 donuts. I am a happy camper now 🙂
Lucky you – I just got off the phone with a rep and was informed that they believed all missing donuts claims had been resolved. I submitted my claim of 78 missing donuts 9 days ago and they’re still missing. My case is being “escalated to the studio level…”

I just want to say I love the game very much, but the spring field Heights quest should have more options like for 24 hours with one character like Homer will earn you something like 30 chairs. Itsbgetting difficult to keep tapping for every 30 seconds. Can you do something about it?
We’re not EA, so we can’t do anything about it.
I contacted EA by live chat about 48 missing donuts. I received 50 donuts restored to my game in under 5 minutes. Easy as pie. Great service. No issues with getting back what was missing plus 2 extra donuts…last time I had an issue I got 15 extra donuts but I can’t complain. The speed of their response was amazing!
Fat Tony wanders around but I can no longer assign him a job at LA Body Works.

All of a sudden today, I couldn’t log it. “Update Available! Want!…” leads me to Play Store, where no update is available. Anyone else with this problem?
Try to restart your device and check again. Or… go straight to the Apps online page and let it take you to the App Market from there and see if it helps. 😉
I had the exact same problem on my iPad Air after the Springfield Hights update first hit, on the phone EA was helping me fix one problem and asked me to log out of my game so they could check it, but when they said my town looked ok, I couldn’t log back in till the last patch,
But after today’s patch I did buy doughnuts without loosing any and was able to visit another town and come back and didn’t have any dialogue window pop up saying something had finished when it was stil in progress, and didn’t have any Tasks on the task bar disappear on me.
I’ve had a relatively glitch-free game until today. Honest John’s computers just finished building, and as soon as my Springfielders get through the first dialogue before the first task, my game crashes. It doesn’t matter if I’m using my Nexus 4 or 7, and I’ve tried uninstalling without avail. I’m waiting on a call from EA, but in the meantime, has anyone encountered this before?
(Also, I’m a lurker but really love this site – so helpful for feeding my addiction! Thanks for all that you do!)
ETA: Just spoke with EA on the phone and they say it’s related to today’s update, and to give it 24 hours. I’ll just store Honest john’s in the meantime and keep on tapping for SH currency…
Two problems that just started happening to me today after I installed the iOS update:
1) The yoga mat symbol remains even after I send everyone available on jobs.
2) My game crashes when I try to visit certain friends. I’ve tried restarting the game and restarting my device, but neither fixes the issue.

I have contacted EA (via live chat) twice now about my missing donuts. The first time I was told to be patient, EA were aware of the problem and were investigating it. The second time, I was told that a report on my issue was being sent to a “specialist” and it would be investigated and if it was found to be true, my donuts would be restored. I also had to “accept” that if my claim was fraudulent, my account could be deactivated 😲 Is this normal procedure?
By the way, this second live chat was a really weird and uncomfortable one, the guy was very familiar with me – asking could he call me by a shortened version of my name and then talking about how “life is precious”…… He kept me hanging on for ages while he supposedly wrote up a report on my case…. I was a bit freaked out by the end and just wanted to end the chat asap 😳
And after all that… still no donuts refunded 😢
Three games now with Donuts missing and all 3 times I kept requesting a phone call. The reps on the phone were nice and I could tell not “outsourced”. They added the donuts back to all 3 games. I don’t know if it helped… but I also told them I had receipts from the original purchases too.
Logged in this morning to find Fat Tony is no longer able to make yoga mats but Snake is?!
