After 2 months and 9 days of waiting (since Level 37 hit) we FINALLY have Level 38! Woo hoo new level!!
Homer kicks off Level 38…so make sure he’s free 🙂
After you send Homer on a short 30 min task Chief Wiggum starts a secondary task….Wiggum’s task is 12hrs.
So…Both Homer AND Wiggum need to be free to start Level 38.
BUNNY HIJACKING POST TO CLARIFY 5:30 PM EST:
There are multiple quests going on in the game. Homer has his Devil Wears Blue. It is the beginning to a questline with the Blue Haired Lawyer. To complete the quest past part 1, you MUST purchase the Blue Haired Lawyer. If you do not purchase Blue Haired Lawyer, that will end the quest. Nothing further will appear. As for Chief Wiggum, he has his Scandalous Spending quest line. This is the main questiline and will unlock the courthouse. More quests will follow after Scandalous Spending ends.
More details as we uncover them. As always I will update THIS post with the details!
UPDATE 2:05pm EST: Quick troubleshoot/tech help on Level 38. If the update downloads for you BUT when you go into your Springfield Level 38 does not start right away (you’ll see the Level Up Message), hard close out of the App (Tasks, close App) and restart it. That should Trigger the Level to Start. This happened to me on all THREE of my devices (GS4 Phone, Galaxy Tab AND the iPad) and that seemed to do the trick. 🙂
UPDATE: Lots of new content….2 new characters, 2 new buildings and LOTS of decorations. Here are the details:
Non-Premium:
Judge Snyder/Courthouse– Unlocks through quest only and WITH the Courthouse. Courthouse (when unlocked) will cost you $319,500. Earns $520 & 50xp every 2days, 36 hour build.
Springfield Grocery Store- Unlocked as soon as you Level Up! Will cost you $261,000. Earns $90 & 10xp every 4hrs. 1 day build.
New Decorations:
Lady Justice Statue- (to go with Little Lady Justice..only this one won’t cost you donuts) . Statue unlocked right away (assuming you’re on Level 38), can be placed anywhere, improves Obedience & will cost you $4,500
Khlav Kalash Stand– Level 21 is required to unlock this one, Improves Gluttony, can be placed anywhere & will cost you $760.
Greenpeace Boat– (Woo-Hoo Another Boat! This one has also been in the files for a while, so i’m glad they finally released it) Requires Level 21, Improves tree-hugging, can only be placed in the water, and you can have multiples of them. This Boat will cost you $1,300.
Onto the Premium Stuff:
Blue Haired Lawyer- (Just what Springfield needs…an Attorney!) He’ll cost you 90 donuts and does come with his own Questline and tasks.
Knight Boat– (Another boat for the water! And this has also been in the files for a while. So glad they finally put it in the game!) This will cost you 40 donuts, Awards a 2% bonus on all Cash and XP, can only be placed in the water, Requires Level 15, and you can also have multiples.

WARNING!!! Check your “Confirm Donut Spend” setting often…I didn’t get to enjoy my 2 new donuts for a whole 12 hours even though I checked it right after the update…now I’m really hungry.
I lost my upgrade. Started it last night, began building the Grocery Store, bought the Greenpeace boat, Lady Liberty and Falash stand, started Wiggums procrastination quest and completed Homers Squishy quest. Logged in thjis morning and Wiggum was walking around with no quest and all the decorations and the Grocery Store are gone. Says I am on level 37 and no sign of level 38. Hard closed out of the app and restarted it with no luck. Not looking forward to redownloading the 810MB to completely reinstall. Anyone else having this issue today?
Oh yes, I am running Android 4.4.2 on a Nexus 7 (2013 version) tablet.
We’re hearing it happening with a few Tappers. This happened a lot with Level 37 as well (although for them they Rolled all the way back to Level 10 or lower). We have a post about the steps to follow if this happens to you here. However, if those don’t work and you’ll need to contact EA and let them know the basic troubleshoot methods are not working for you. (The link there show’s you the steps to Contact EA)

At my tapped out, the blue haired lawyer costs 30 donuts? Is it a glitch or am i just special?
Hmmm…that’s a glitch as far as I know. You sure it’s 30? It could also be just a wording glitch and when you tap on it to purchase it’ll take the full 90 away. If you want to purchase him I would suggest grabbing a screenshot of him at that price, then if it deducts the 90 try contacting EA and show them that Screenshot. But make sure you have proof of your donut count before and after purchase. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing it as well and I can’t check myself because I’ve already purchased him for 90 donuts in both my A and B games.
Help I can’t get the upgrade on my abacus…… And all this new content but no car and reducing time on building tiles, when ive spent 8 months building one,free doughnuts when I just bought a boatload and new characters with blue hair and I sent wiggumon a 10 minute quest just before the update hit why didn’t any one tell me an update was coming I’m 9 minutes behind everyone else……ohh just like all the other updates

An Abacus? ROFLMAO! Thanks Alunited! Needed that!!

You forget the main logic in updating an abacus. You need to make sure all the beads are in the following orders….
Line one… 3 2 5 2 3
Line two… 5 1 1 1 6
Line three… 6 1 2 3 1
Line four… 1 0 1 1 0 1
Line five… 4 2 2 1 3
Then you have to take the abacus, turn it clockwise in 3 full rotations, then counterclockwise twice, then shake the heck out of it, then counterclockwise once more. Make sure you do all of this before the treacle sets up or you will have to start all over.
I hope this helps for your abacus to finally upgrade. If not, you may need to contact Plato or Socrates.

EA was really forthcoming. I got my springfield back within 2 days.
They also gave me 25 donuts *yay* and right after this, level 38.
Could a start in the day be any better?^^
I’m really surprised about the good support.
Their customer support really isn’t bad at all. Sometimes they’re faster than others but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. I’m currently in their queue for a broken game so hopefully they hook me up as quickly as they did you. Oh yea… and yay for free donuts!

I’ve reached lvl 38 and started wiggum and Homer’s quests but i didnt get the free donuts that comes with level ups..i want my donuts 🙁

If you didn’t see the Level Up! screen and you’re definitely on Level 38 (check the XP bar) AND you’re sure you didn’t get the donuts…my suggestion would be your best bet is to contact EA and let them know what happened. They’re usually pretty accommodating about things like that. 🙂
That is strange. And your game says you are on Level 38?
Wiggum started his quest first for me.While homer was “melting snow”,Wiggum finished patrolling Springfield and immediately started his quest.Homer is still melting snow.
I have heard of some players not needing to send Homer off to the Kwik-E-Mart. It is ok. His is a quick lil quest unless you buy the Blue Haired Lawyer. Wiggum has the main quest line.
Won’t let me install the update. It says it’s not compatible with my device, but it only requires Android 2.3.3 and I have 4.2.2. Please let me know if you have any idea why it’s giving me trouble.
Hmmm. That is odd. I would suggest maybe to try the basic troubleshooting steps like log out, restart your device, then log back in. Uninstall app and reinstall it. There could be another issue not noticeable. Memory availabilty factors into it too. Otherwise, I would suggest contacting EA to see if they could help further on the issue.
It installed fine on our GS3 and GS4 devices here.
Ok so I got the update, opened the game and leveled up to 38, then logged in little later it was gone (update and everything I purchased) so i restarted my note and it all came back except im back at level 37 and now I have to wait for the ex points to level up again
Oh no! Sometimes with new levels there are these crazy rollback glitches. Try some of the steps outlined by Bunny in this Troubleshooting Post here and that should to trigger the game back to where you last left off.

it seems they don’t like players in china, if i use a vpn (placing my location in USA) i have the update without the vpn i dont have the update or new content

I am having the same problem. I got the level up to 38 prompt “I’m at Level 38! This is way more rewarding than having a family!” – Lindsey Naegle and the additional 2 donuts. Lady Justice statue avail to be purchase. But the level indicator still relects level 37 with bonus\present icon at the end of the xp indicator. So i did the trouble shooting as suggested of force stop the game apps and restarted it again. Now it got worse as now the xp indicates 33320/129520 and still level 37 and the lady justice statue is now lock till I get to level 38. I tried reinstalling the game but still the same. The thing is the xp of 129520 is not even appropriate to the level 38 or any other level. The closest is to level 29 (130920).
I am not sure if I should continue tapping with this glitch. Anybody else out there have the same problem?
This is similar to the Rollback Glitch people experienced with level 37 (although with that they would rollback all the way to level 10 or lower). If you’ve tried all of the normal troubleshooting steps my suggestion would be to Contact EA. Let them know what’s going on. They’re usually very accommodating and often will award donuts to you for the problems.

Do I need to be in level 38 to see those items?, I’m in level 37 but the items do not appear anywhere.
The items will appear once you level up to 38.
Such b.s. happening on Squidport with this new update!! Yesterday, I mistakenly cashed out all my boardwalk squares and had to start again with a 3-day build. I checked my progress prior to the update kicking in and had 1d12hr remaining. Now post-update it has an increased 2day2hr build remaining….. that’s utter b.s. To add time mid-build!?! Not cool at ALL. ugh.
I guess I am a bit confused. If you were on a 3 day build, and just started yesterday…2 days left seems about right. Or am I reading that wrong?
it was started at 6am yesterday. by 6pm today I was halfway through 3days. 1.5 left. not 2 and change. like the poster below, approx 12 extra hours were added.
That is very odd. I know the build times and costs of the tiles changed with the update…but it is less now…so I find it interesting it added time to yours. Verifying all the new info before I post the details. Sorry.
I had the same issue. My two day Boardwalk build should have completed at 4pm EST today. But it added some 11-12 hours to it and won’t be done for another 6 hours. I even got a push notification that my Boardwalk piece is ready, at the appropriate time, but obviously no piece. Guess I’ll get to collect it when I wake up tomorrow morning.
Just got my update 10 min ago and I already bought the BHL 3 Speed boats and the grocery store plus the other boat for sale. Just waiting in the quest to get the court house!

Kinda sad they didn’t throw in Lionel Hutz with this update. I know they retired him years ago when Phil Hartman died, but since voices aren’t required for characters in Tapped Out, it would’ve been a nice tribute to him.

That’s the “tease” for the Premium quest. You’ll unlock the rest of it if you buy the Blue Haired Lawyer…if not it just never comes back up.
I’m on Level 36 and I already did the Homer task. It seems to be tied to Blue Haired Lawyer, who is available on level 1, but I don’t have the donuts to buy him to get more details.

Were the requirements for the conformity meter raised again? I was stuck at 4.5 stars but after getting all the christmas goodies I was finally able to get my (consumerism) ratingnup to 5. I’m back at 4.5 (only with consumerism) with this update! 🙁

Homers task is linked to the blue haired lawyer… Its completion triggers a convo between the two… Not sure what happens past the convo though.
In all my games, as soon as dialog was complete with Homer…his task was done. Then Wiggum triggered his ! and off he went. There are a LOT of quests in this update. Info coming. 😉
You had to finish Homer’s to open Wiggum’s? I’m using an iOS device and was able to run both together…
I have purchased the BHL… After homer is done he gets a 12hr task of ‘Conspiring w/ BHL’… Ahh… It’s so nice to have new tasks to follow! Lol!

Homer just needs to start the task for Wiggum’s to start. This happened in both of my games (on 3 different devices), as well as on Bunny’s 2 games (on 2 different devices). We both had to start Homer on The Devil Wears Blue Pt. 1 before Wiggum would start the main questline. But we only had to start him, after he reached the Kwik-E-Mart the ! for Wiggum appeared almost immediately.

WDTCF is short for Where Did That Come From. I shortened it for the sake I the title being really long. It is still within the story itself.
A & B game basically just means we have more than one game we play on. I have 2 total right now. A being the first. B being the second.

It’s mentioned in the link Wookiee posted, but I have found a restart works for this specific problem. Sometimes it returns to normal when the first tasks finish too. Either way, you should be fine, but don’t spend any donuts just yet as the items can dissappear (and return later).
Blue Haired Lawyer + Green Peace Boat + KnightBoat, and it looks like Judge Roy Snyder is here. Some other decorations as well! Awesome. I leveled up as soon as I entered the game, as I was already “beyond” 37 with experience.

I had to restart all my devices a few times to get it to hit. Wiggum will trigger. Homer separate task.
same. wiggum is wandering around free and nothing initiated both times i restarted the game but homer is occupied for another 20 minutes. hopefully it’ll catch up soon as there is a lot of great content i can’t wait to get! i got the update about an hour ago so i know it’s got the content update.. just playing the waiting game.
Homer has his own task and had to go to kwikk e mart first, sorry…then wiggum will trigger as soon as Homer is sent that way.
I had the update but like you, I was stuck as well…so I deleted the game altogether and started playing Angry Birds StarWarsII…then I downloaded TappedOut fresh…it only took about three hours…but it worked…I wonder if we’ll get credit someday for how far we have actually gone experience wise…I feel like I’d be around level 62 by now…and bought nary a donut.

Just make sure Homers task triggers and he goes to Kwik E Mart. Then you can start Wiggums
Actually wiggum got his task first. Soon after I got Homer to do his task and nothing seems to follow it up. It might be linked to wiggum’s procrastination.
It is silly. I guess it hit different for some. All of mine, Homer first…then Wiggum. Homer’s is just that short lil one…then done. Wiggums…well once it is done, it triggers more. Info coming soon. 🙂

The first level 38 task is a 30 min Homer quest from what we’ve seen, then Wiggum gets his “!”. Appreciate the help though.
