You Might Be An Addict….Part 3

redneck
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers,

It’s my turn to take over TSTO Anonymous, just for this week.  Back in September and November we had a couple if fun little posts up entitled You might Be An Addict…similar to Jeff Foxworthy’s “You Might Be A Redneck…”.  We had so much fun with those we decided to do it again!

So with out further ado I present to you….You Might Be An Addict-Part 3:

Are the odds now in your favor? Wheel update.

Hey howdy hey tapaholics!

If you haven’t noticed it yet, there was a minor in-game update today.  The big news is that the odds of the Holiday Wheel have changed.  Here’s the details.

Wheel Odds

I like pie charts.   Mmmmmmmm…. pie.  I think they show stats quite nicely.  Anywho, for people that like the raw data, here it is.

Snowmen Odds Up to 14% (previously 13.48%)
Christmas Skin Odds Down to 14% (previously 20.22%
Mr. Plow/Plow King Skins Up to 9% (previously 5.05%)
Ice God Up to 6% (previously 2.25%)
Helter Shelter Up to 5% (previously 2.25%)
Snow Monster Up to 5% (previously 1.68%)
Clausco Up to 5% (previously 1.56%)

Basically means that the odds for getting the better prizes is a little better but it still is a crap shoot whether you’ll hit that last prize you want.

The good news is that this is proof that EA has heard the uproar from many tappers and actually does care.  4 more days to go.  I sincerely hope the wheel spins your way.

WAWW VD Episode Edition Part Deux

Valentine's Panorama

You came back for more?  WOO HOO!!!!  Can you feel the romance in the air?  I certainly can!

With the holiday event coming to a close on January 14th, a lot of us are just waiting for a return of the Valentine’s Day event and you know that means, right?  Yup, I get the chance to dish on some stuff I’d like to see with it.  Best part for me is reader pkkao actually asked me to do it.  For most of this post, I’ll be abbreviating Valentine’s Day as VD.  Covers two reasons, my laziness and how funny I think it is to use that particular abbreviation in conjunction with a “love” holiday.

Should I Spend Donuts on Mr. Sparkle Billboard?

With the new Premium items just added to our menu, it may be overwhelming trying to decide whether to buy them or to pass on them. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Mr. Sparkle Billboard to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this decoration to your Springfield.

mrsparklebillboard_menu
Decoration: Mr. Sparkle Billboard
Donut Price: 30 donuts
Unique?: No, you can have as many as you want
Bonus: 0.75% (bonus cash and XP to all tasks)
Bonus % Per Donut Spent: 0.025%
Conform-o-Meter Points: +10 Consumerism
Where Can I Place It?: The Mr Sparkle Billboard is one of the few decorations that can be placed on your land, on the beach and even on the Squidport Boardwalk!

Final Thought: At 30 Donuts the Mr. Sparkle Billboard isn’t the most expensive decoration in Springfield BUT at .75% bonus pay out that’s not exactly the best payout in the game either.  It is a relatively small item to place in town and admittedly I did purchase this (only 1).  However, if you’re limited on your donuts (I happened to stock up quite a bit when Ol’ Gil was around…got to love Christmas Gift Cards!) you may want to pass on this one.  There are much better items you can purchase for relatively the same amount of donuts & better bonus payouts.  The one nice thing about this is it does add to your Consumerism rating, which is one of the hardest in the game to max out.

Whatever you decide on the billboard just remember this is a Limited-Time  item so there once it’s gone it’s gone!

What do you think?  Will you be paying 30 donuts for the Mr. Sparkle Billboard?

“Married to the Blob” Episode Tie-In and the Conform-O-Meter

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

A new Episode Tie-In has arrived in Springfield!  This Limited-Time event will only be around a short while (we’re guessing it’ll be gone by January 14th), so make sure you get those Limited-Time decorations and buildings while they’re still around!  For a little extra incentive let’s take a look at how the new additions to Tapped Out will impact your Conform-O-Meter.
The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.
While the “Married to the Blob” Episode Tie-In brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, it did bring us a ton of new items to add to our Springfield.  Let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating:

Item Cost Categeory Points New/Returning
Mr. Sparkle Billboard 30 Donuts Consumerism 10 New
Swanky Fish 90 Donuts Gluttony 10 Returning

Despite this being a mini update, with only 2 new premium items, they are both beneficial items to your Conform-O-Meter.  Especially since the Mr. Sparkle Billboard impacts the Consumerism Rating (one of the hardest to max out in the game).  It’s always nice to have a NEW itme to impact Consumerism!

Which Episode Tie-In  items have you purchased?  Let us know in the comments below or post a photo to our Flickr photo stream!
