Bunny here. Putting on my glasses, getting out my pocket protector, and getting my magic fingers and thumbs ready to type those zeroes and ones. Basically…it’s Nerdy Time!!
For whatever various reasons, our game likes to frak with our minds and heads and nothing seems to quite go right. We panic. Throw our device. Scream. Yell. There may be many tears as well. Just slowly take your thumbs/fingers off the device or you may crack the screen. Lol. It’s ok. I am here to help. All of us are. Promise.
So here we are again. Got your 1’s and 0’s fingers ready? It is time to get technical.
The following are some general steps you can take when pretty much ANYTHING goes amiss in your game. One or the other usually helps. So give them all a try and see if it corrects the issue for you.
1: The “Trigger”- Go in and out of neighbors towns forcing the game to “sync”. Then go to YOUR Krustyland and into the menus. Then back to YOUR Springfield and the menus. This will usually “trigger” the game into syncing up all those missing issues and putting the game back to the way it needs to be.
2: Basic Restart- Log out of the game, restart your device, once powered back up, log back in. Check to see if issue resolved.
3: Start New -(This is the one EA usually tells you to do.) Uninstall the app from your device. Clear out all the cache and cookies to make sure nothing remains of the game. Then restart your device. Once back up, reinstall the app again. Log into your account. Check to see if issue is resolved.
4: Trigger Using Alternate Device- Sometimes if your device won’t fix the issue or even let you in your game, using another one will. (I have an iPod, Droid Tablet, and my Droid cell phone that all have the game installed. If you don’t have an alternate one, see if you can borrow a friends.) Make sure you are logged out of your game on your main device, otherwise you will get the message about being on another device. If you are unable to log out, no worries, just continue and play now.
Now for the steps…
*Log into your game as you normally would on the alternate device.
*Collect $$ and XP on all your buildings that are ready and from the thumbs up on completed characters tasks in your town.
*Travel to your Friends Town Main Screen.
*Go into the “Other Town“.
*Collect the daily 3 $$ and XP from the “Other Town“.
*Exit out of the “Other Town” back to the Friends Town Main Screen.
*From there, select “Log Out”.
Now go back to your Original/Main device you were using. Restart your main device. Once powered back up, log back into your game. See if issue resolved itself.
(There is a KABOOM/Nuclear method, however this is to the point of backing everything up, wiping your device, going back to factory settings…it is really not recommended for basic issues. So hold off before going to that extent.)
Beyond that, depending on issue, the next step I suggest is to contact EA. This is for two main reasons. First, they are alerted to the ongoing issue and the more complaints made the more attention is brought to it and hopefully the sooner it is resolved. Second, if it is effecting YOU greatly…they offer great gifts in return…like donuts for compensation. (This may or may not happen, but at least it’s worth the try, right?)
Now there are a few methods in contacting EA. You can open a ticket by submitting the details of your issue, email, live chat, or…even call them. The steps were in my prior post HERE.
As always, we are here to help in anyway we can. (I even try to harass…errr…I mean contact EA on our readers behalf to see if there is anything more I can find out too.) Just keep hanging in there. Glitches happen. This is still the coolest “Freemium” game to date. 😉
Now to go hide by my locker and wait while that cute guy with the crooked smile walks by. Maybe he will notice me this time. 😛

Hello, I’ve been having a problem. I turned off my iPhone 5 for no more then 2 hours, later that day when I tried to log onto TSTO the menu started up as usual, as it loaded, the pop up “Your game has been logged onto another device.” appeared. This has happened to me before so I clicked “continue” and “okay”. After I did that, it brought me back to the loading screen, as I waited for the game to load the donut stopped spinning. I sat there and waited for five minutes and neither the game loaded nor did the donut start spinning. I deleted the game, re -installed it, and logged into origin. Same thing happened. I proceeded with this process three more times. Still nothing. I then tried creating a new game and it started up fine, ran fine, and did everything it was supposed to. After that I logged on my brothers iPod and the same thing happened, I couldn’t log in, but his game and a new game worked perfectly fine. I have tried everything I could find on the Internet but nothing seems to be working. I have never cheated or done anything to get my account banned or terminated. Please help.
P.S -it was working fine before the update for the second wave of stonecutter blackmarket store items.
Could be something in your game bogging down the load up. It happens from time to time. Best thing to do is wait until tomorrow after 9am EST and try contacting EA (indicate in the form you fill out that you’re missing items) and try to trigger the phone call option. They’ll have to roll back your game to an earlier date to remove whatever item is bogging it down.

I’m on level47. Level 10 on the Elf Cannon – 11 elves per shoot, 5 bells per elf, but I am only getting 2 bells each time the cannon is fired. Hope you can help! Many thanks and happy New Year
Are you looking at the images “visually”? Or are you looking at the numbers that are adding up as those images clear? +3 +10 +25 etc.
Just wanted to thank you, Bunny, for this article. When I finished tunnel 17, I found that I hadn’t gotten the orange house lights or the elf, so I knew I had a problem. I went through all of the instructions on this page and, even though it didn’t help fix my problem, when I called EA, it was great to be able to tell them that I had done all of these things so we could start from a more productive part on the phone call.
By the way, for anyone who might need to call EA with a problem, my experience with their telephone tech support was very positive! A rep called me right away and, although it took us some time (and a lot of game restarts!) to get the problem sorted, in the end, we were successful and I got a few donuts for my trouble.

Since yesterday I can’t go in correctly!! I see my nick and my 46 level, but when I tap to start it took me to the beginning!! With Homer and the elfs!
I’ve done the restart… and I don’t want to reinstall cuz I don’t have a good wifi conection those days 😀 any other solution?
Uninstall reinstall and log back in to the account is what I would suggest outside contacting EA, but they may say the same.

Hi when I go into my friends towns to collect Ray guns they haven’t been reset so I just recieve one Ray gun per visit of each friend!! I have waited the 24hrs for reset but still only recieve one. What can I do for this please help 😬

Hey bunny, you redirected me here after I lost Shauna in my Springfield. Unfortunately the steps didn’t work, usually they do fix my minor problems, so now I am off to EA. Thanks anyway, and I’ll make sure to let you know how EA handles this. And maybe see if they are going to fix this issue, other players are misplacing characters too.
I had to talk to EA about a trouble shooting issue. It is resolved, but during that time I missed out on a lot of my rewards. I was told for troubles, you can get free donuts. Will I get free donuts for all my lost also?
You have to let EA know what you missed/lost. They’re good about making it up to you, but you’ve got to let them know exactly what was missed or lost. 🙂
When I first log in, a “cannot connect to server” screen pops up with a retry button, all the time. I then click to log in & then collect $ but then somehow the game force closes on me if I click on too many houses/buildings at once. If I go back in the game after it force closes, it will usually force close again.
This is getting frustrating! Please help me!
Have you tried a reset or unistall/reinstall to see if it helped?
I did that earlier. It hasnt force closed on me… yet. The “cannot connect to server” sign still pops up in the beginning though

My game tells me I don’t have enough storage space to play/update. I have 1.5GB free on device storage and several gigs free on my SD card. I have moved the app to the SD card via my application manager but it still shows 800+MB being stored on the device and only a few megs on the SD card. Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S4. Why doesn’t it transfer all data to the SD card?
It is a known issue for the GS4. One I have been dealing with and still working with EA on since January. Something with the device and Kit Kat I believe. I have to uninstall and reinstall every update still. Once reinstalled, I immediately move it to my 64GB SD card. I find that you need at least 2GB free on the device itself at all times.
My biggest concern is that it won’t actually keep all the data on the SD card. Almost all of it is still on the device itself.
Is the Simpson game down? It kicked me out 1/2 hour ago and it keeps on saying retry.
I turned off my phone multiple times.

This morning my game did an update when I started it. I was going to my neighbors and putting the cameras around when I received the notification that I had 18,000 emblems and received stonecutter Wiggum and Disco Stu. I don’t have Disco Stu so it makes sense that he didn’t show up but Stonecutter Wiggum hasn’t shown up either. It says he has a 12hr quest but doesn’t give me the option to switch between regular and Stonecutter. I’ve done all the troubleshooting steps and it still hasn’t helped. When I log back in, it gives me the logged in another device warning. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you
The “other device” is a common pop up. It just means you didn’t give the game a chance to save and sync up last time you left, so it thinks you are still in there playing. So it pops up that default message. You can just continue on.

As for the skins, go into your menus (buildings, decorations, etc) and click on the lil brown cardboard box in the lower left corner (your inventory/storage), scroll all the way to the end of it and see if you can see Wiggum and/or Stu’s skin in there. Let us know what you find.

Okay. It happened again. mzoronski is the handle attached to this person entering my Springfield. I checked and there are no friends requests received nor did I send a request to this person. I would like to be able to choose my friends. EA didn’t respond to this the last time. If they aren’t going to respond, what would you suggest?
Not much that can be done besides notifying EA and keeping on top of them for an answer. I’ve had ghosts pop up of people I removed a while back but it’s caused no harm to my game.
I finished the 24 hr jobs. And still see no eggs! I’m confused. I accidentally made Homer “prep for whacking day” again. Is this the problem?
Yes, Homer starts the next part of the quest. He’s the key to unlocking everything. So he needs to be free to get the next part going.
Do you get the bunnies after the 24 hour job? I got the dialoge update and all the trees and shrubs are decorated but I didn’t get anything in the buy menu or the bunnies and new eggs and presents!! Please help I am so sad 🙁

Found it! You have to go to the actual Tapping game on the Apps icon, then you can update. Yippee. Now everybody’s whacking – except Lisa, of course.

I was trying to get the new Easter update. I tried visiting friends, got the message they have the new one. I clicked OK. Nothing. I did like you said. I logged out of my ipad. shut down. booted up. Now can’t get back so I can log on again. I’m back at the very beginning of the game. How can I get the option to log on?
right at the opening load screen, you should see an icon in the lower left hand corner to log into your account
Thanks so much for your quick response. You eased a lot of anxiety. I know the log in place you are talking about, but even that didn’t show up until after I’d been shut down for 1/2 hour. I won’t be doing that again. So, the problem remains – no dialog between Homer and others yet. Guess I’ll forget it for awhile and do my grocery shopping. Thanks again….
Ho, ok I reinstall my game and now seems less crashy, but it always and this not get any better as I add more friends it crashes more when changing from neighbor to neighbor, now I hace like 30 friends and almost every time I switch to visit them after click on the arrow lets say the 4th or 5 time it crashes, I have to open the game again enter visit the friends and after 4 or more visits crash again.
I am on android on a N7 2013 running kitkat. can anyone made some suggestions?
It also depends on what your neighbors have going on in their towns. If they have a TON of buildings and/or decorations…it will make it difficult as well for you to access their towns. I have this issue with many of my neighbors that put 2D and 3D art in their towns too. Their is not really a fix for it. You just have to make due.
As for your device, you may want to see if you can free up any extra storage space to allow the game as much room as possible to use for the app. Also make sure you are on a good quality signal or strong WiFi to keep a constant signal to the game. Poor signal strength will also effect game play.
My game constantly crashes. Sometimes its while I have just tapped a line of houses to get the money and xp. And sometimes it crashes when I’m at a neighbors house tapping their valentines. I even tried getting on my kindle to see if it was just my device (Samsung galaxy s3) but it still crashed. Is there anything I can do?? Please help!!
Have you tried the methods in this post? If that still doesn’t work your best bet is to Contact EA. Hope that helps!
I have contacted EA. Haven’t heard anything back. Since this post I even got a new device so I don’t see any reason for it to be my device. My game crashes whether I am on iPhone 3gs, Samsung galaxy s iii, or Samsung galaxy 5. It’s so upsetting. I was almost playing hourly every day. Now it’s whenever I can get the game to stay going long enough to yap everything and get them all new jobs going. It’s sooooo sad.
Hopefully they get back to you soon! I know Wookiee went through this after Christmas. I can tell you that EA is REALLY good about making up for issues like this. They’ll award donuts or help you get content you may have missed because of these kinds of problems.

My only thought on this (because it’s been going on for so long) is that it’s an issue with your Origin ID. There’s something with your ID in the main database that’s causing it to crash. They may have to rollback your town to correct it.
My best advice keep contacting EA. Have you tried the chat? (i know they’re AWFUL but at least it’s instant feedback) If not that try various combinations in the EA Contact Page to try and generate a phone call option to come up. Usually key words like Origin ID or various phrases like that will help trigger that option. But there is no way to tell for sure what will guarantee a phone call so just try different phrases to see if you can get the option to come up.

I was building the courthouse and had a group of people negotiating with the blue haired lawyer, when suddenly I could no longer get into my game. I play on an ipad mini and an iPhone 5 and neither of them will get past the “tap to continue” screen. I have a ticket with EA, but was wondering… I tried to download and log in on my husbands iphone but the same thing happened, would it be worth trying on an android device?? Or is this something that I would need to just try and be patient and hope that EA can fix… Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, ps… I have faithfully tried all the troubleshooting up to the “kaboom” suggestion…
Alternate devices can sometimes trigger a locked up game. Never hurts to try. Log in with alternate device, collect money, go to “Other Springfield”, collect 3 items, go back, log out. Then try again from original device…only AFTER you log out and restart it after doing tasks with alternate device. See if it works. Let us know. 😉

OK. Need help. I started to build Springfield Elementary yesterday.
Today it was an update for the game… When It was done building Elementary, i tapped on the hammer to finish. THEN the problem started. I cannot see the school…???? I have tried to delete it (the box), log out, shut down, but nothing helped. I cannot even tap it to acces it…

hmmm are you playing using an Origin id? If so and it’s still happening today I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling TSTO. This is a common glitch that happens where sometimes buildings just disappear. They’re still there (in the game) but for whatever reason the image doesn’t show on your screen.

Ok so the School built and appeared correct? But now the issue is getting the task to clear? Try to hard close the App (App Manager, close TSTO) then reopen it. Sometimes that will help to clear out any problem files in the game.

With that specifically your best bet would be to Contact EA. If you’ve tried all of the other basic troubleshoot methods it may be something specific with your game and only EA would be able to access and try to fix it. You can contact them by following the steps outlined by Bunny here.

Why can’t I continue to build in Krusty land? It’s been about a month since I’ve been given any type of dialogue. I have the pita truck in my inventory but it’s inaccessible. Is this a glitch or have I just maxed out my on building?
As far as the Fleet-A-Pita, you need to have purchased the Cracker Factory w/Luann with donuts and completed the Investorettes quest to unlock them in both Springfield and Krustyland.
Is there other buildings still in your menu for Krustyland?

Question – before the update my wife and I had two seperate cities under two different Origin accounts (shared iPhone device). Wife did the update and all was fine. I then log in with my acct info and it says “there is already a level 35 city on this device…..is it yours?” I view it and it’s not either mine or hers. I say no and it’s wants to create a new city. When I shut down the device and turn it on it still goes back to that prompt – can’t even log in a new origin account or go back under my wife’s acct info. What is going on? Any ideas?

It has changed for iOS users. You now are limited like Android users have been since the beginning. There are alternate ways to manage friends. Take a look at the post linked below.
