Logged into my TSTO this morning to see this GLORIOUS Screen:
It appears EA has graced us with a little Super Bowl Sunday mini-update! (Shameless FOX plug…I’m sure but I don’t mind 🙂 )
Update auto-starts with a dialogue between Homer and Lisa and then both Homer and Lisa have to be free for a 1 hr task.
Click read more for update content, dialogue and freebie spoilers….BUT if you don’t want to know about them I will tell you to make sure you play your game on Super Bowl Sunday for a couple of freebies (1 is a new item not listed in the items above…something brand new to TSTO).
Update #1 9:50 AM EST: So far it’s a 3 part quest with dialogue and then the quests seem to end. Looks like it could be a multi-day questline.
Also, it appears as though EA has brought back a limited-time item from last year (Season 24 Yard Sale)…the Duff Party Bus is back. For 50 Donuts you can own the Duff Party Bus (yes that’s the same price it was when it was available last year). 2.25% Bonus Cash and XP to all jobs. It is unique…so if you already have it from last year you won’t get the option to purchase it again. (Note: 1/30/14 update made this no longer unique. May now be purchased multiple times)
The Duff Racer is also back and available for in game cash purchase (ie free). It’ll cost you $250,000 and again it is unique so you can only have 1 in your town. If you have one from last year you won’t be able to purchase another one.
Be sure to logon to your game Super Bowl Sunday for the conclusion and a FREE Gift and FREE DONUTS from EA. Sunday’s quest will award the Duff Blimp for FREE AND FREE DONUTS!

Homer: With my lifestyle? Probably. But that’s not why I’m praying. I’m praying because it’s almost Sunday… Super Bowl Sunday! I just want the game to go off with out any lockouts, blackouts, or Sum of All Fears-esque nuclear attacks.
Lisa: But all of those problems are completely avoidable or fictional. They’re just created by players, owners, and TV stations to make more money. In fact, when you think about it, the whole Super Bowl seems about making money.
Homer: Shut your blasphemous mouth! God loves football. How dare you question God! Now get me another beer.
Lisa: You’re out of beer.
Homer: WHY, GOD? WHY?
Make Homer Go on a Beer Run- 1hr, Earns $70, 17XP

Homer: Okay Lisa, put down those financial magazines and help me carry this stuff to the car. I got two cases of Duff and three cases of Duff Lite!
Lisa: That’s a lot of beer. Are you having a Super Bowl Party?
Homer: Ooh, that’s a good idea! Apu, get me another four cases of each. Also, that barrel of Duff-flavored cheese blurgs and this industrial-sized tub of Duff-brand chicken swangs.
Lisa: Cheese blurgs and chicken swangs? Is that even food?
Apu: Of course. They’re made from all-natural cardboard and organic liposuction waste.
Homer: Mmmm… rich lady fat.

Lisa Starts
Lisa: This just doesn’t add up- Super Bowl tickets are expensive, but don’t cover team salaries. The ads cost a fortune, but are minuscule compared to the licensing deal. And surplus revenue falls way short of operating costs.
Homer: What are you talking about?
Lisa: This Super Bowl is generating billions of dollars, yet somehow no one’s making money from it.
Homer: What about FOX? FOX wouldn’t run something year after year if it wasn’t making them money.
Lisa: So you’d think, but i’m just not seeing it. Maybe I missed something in these balance sheets.
Homer: Awww, kids and their balance sheets. Now, as the consummate host, I must taste the snacks to ensure the highest quality of food for my guests.

Lisa: Dad, did you eat all the party snacks and pass out on the floor?
Homer: Judging me isn’t going to get rid of these gulls.
Lisa: Please Dad, I’m still busy tracking the Super Bowl profit stream from media ad sales through to player’s salaries.
Homer: Can you re-describe that as a famous movie quote?
Lisa: I’m following the money.
Homer: Hmm, I haven’t seen “All The President’s Men”. I’ll have to take your word for it.
Lisa: Why don’t you get up and take a shower? It smells like the sea in here, and it’s not coming from the gulls.
Homer: Probably because of all the salt I ate. Don’t worry — I know how to fix that.

Hey addicts! I’m having kind of a trouble with this quest. Ended part 2 and saw the question mark on homer. Before taping it i went to krustyland and when i came back it was gone. Since them homer has done several other tasks, i logged off a bunch of times but still the part 3 doesn’t come. Is anyone having the same problem?
This is something I have not seen yet. Both Homer and Lisa switch back and forth on this quest. So make sure both have completed their steps on the quest line. If no luck, try the basic trouble shooting steps to see if they help.

Does anyone have any advice as to what to spend donuts on to start with. I have 450 donuts and only have acquired SVT and Dr Nick? Are buildings more worth it or would more characters be a better option to get the cash and xp flowing? Also I would like to suggest that they add in a nice carhole for Moe into the game.
It really depends on what look you’re going for. In my personal opinion I always think Character/Building combos are the best then premium items with high bonus multipliers on them. Hi, can anyone tell me when the duff racer is available to buy?
It should show in your decorations menu on the far right. It became available with the Super Bowl tie-in for $250,000.

I haven’t been able to connect to server for over 2 hours now – Anyone else? I got the update and had just sent Homer and Lisa on the 2nd set of tasks (2 hr tasks), but after that, I am getting “can’t connect” and the “undergoing maintenance” message 🙁

I’m not the type of person to complain or ask for help but do many people get the cannot connect to server screen? I’ve been trying to log in for quite a while now and I just can’t ! Can someone give me a brief summary on what the problem might be,many help Is appreciated, thanks
Going through it myself right now. Usually right before a big update hits the games (like Valentine’s Day) the servers go down. It’s usually because they’re running maintenance on them in preparation for the next big event. This isn’t always the case, but I suspect this is the case in this case…:)

We’re in the process of moving off of Word Press servers onto our own hosted domain. During that process we’ll be sure to re-setup a new mobile version of the site (we had to disable the old one temporarily to make the switch). The hope is to have everything moved over ASAP…and make it quick and painless for all of our readers…with little to no TSTOAddicts.com downtime. 🙂

Sometimes this happens right before a big update (like Valentine’s Day perhaps?) Best advice is to sit tight and know that you’re not the only Tapper going through it. We’re hearing reports from Tappers all over about the issues. So just sit tight and keep trying…and hope that Valentine’s Day is coming soon! 🙂
Thanks! Finally able to get on my town, for the 1st time today. Glad I saved up some in game cash, would have been upset if I missed out on the Duff Racer. I’m excited about the Free Duff Blimp, free donuts, and of course the Valentines update coming our way!!!

It’s hard to say…but based on the fact that many of the items from past events before TSTO was available on Android devices have come back again I think we can expect to see almost all (if not all) of the same items from last Valentine’s Day and then some. Beyond that we can only speculate…and here’s some of what Wookiee thinks might show up this time around. Part 2 🙂

Anyone else getting an “undergoing maintenance” message when they try opening the app? It’s frustrating me since I have the day off due to the snow… (When you live in Georgia 2 inches of snow shuts down the entire state)
I have been trying to get in for an hour…
We’re hearing on and off reports of it from various Tappers….best thing I can tell you to do right now is to sit tight and keep trying. The Origin Servers are showing they’re currently up but doesn’t mean they aren’t spotty in places.

Anyone else outside the USA unable to access their town? Is it because non-US towns don’t get the Super Bowl update? I want the party bus 🙁
The update should be available world wide. Try some of the basic troubleshooting methods…if you still can’t get into the game Contact EA. 🙂
I did the update but theres no new items and no missions for homer or lisa???
Try hard closing the app and restarting it. If that still doesn’t work try restarting your device. Usually one of those two helps my game trigger the updates that won’t start. 🙂
Are we thinking this means the V Day update will be postponed until next week?

Here’s an odd one, I got the update on my iPad, but did not see any of the dialogue. I then tried on my Android phone, and the update launched, and I received the dialogue/quest. Synchronized, and went back to the iPad to discover Homer and Lisa are not on the quests. It is what it is. True tappers always have a backup plan!
As someone who just started playing on July 31st (six month anniversary two days away), I love when they bring back previous freemium items. I just purchased the Duff racecar and placed it next to Moes. As Duffman would say: Oh Yeah !!!
It also got me to finish level 38 again, 3 more donuts takes me up to 56. Well on my way to being able to buy a building + character combo premium item. Hopefully by my one year anniversary. Wish I discovered TSTO Addicts earlier and knew about confirm donut use earlier so I wouldn’t have wasted donuts accidentally unnecessarily speeding up useless tasks. Also would have known you can get Squeaky Voice Teen in the Mystery Box and have not spent those 30 donuts (though don’t mind that as much as the painful waste of donuts speeding up tasks).

Duff bus ooh yeah missed last time
I haven’t gotten the update yet. Is there a way to get it to show? I am on android.
Sometimes they’re a little delayed or screwy in the system. Try hard closing the app (task manager, close app) and reopening it. If that doesn’t trigger the update try restarting your device. Hope that helps! 🙂
How long is the mini update going to last?
I think it’ll be around until at least Monday the 3rd.

Anyone else having the game freeze on them???
We’re seeing reports from other Tappers of this happening to them. Personally I haven’t experienced it with this update. The best thing to do is to try the basic troubleshooting steps and see if that helps clear the problem up.

Oh golly!! I have coveted the Duff bus for soooo long, but still can’t get back into my game!!! 🙁 hopefully they get around to fixing me before it’s gone again! Have fun with this little update guys, it looks like a fun one!! 🙂

Ahh that’s the worst! Make sure you contact EA AGAIN to let them know you still can’t get into the game! Hopefully they’ll fix it for you soon!
Success!!! My game has just been restored to the beginning of level 38!! First thing I did was buy the bus!!! EA Help took awhile, but came through… I an a HAPPY TAPPER! 🙂

Nope this won’t be the Freebie with this update. Instead it’s something brand new to the game (something for ALL tappers). So you’re safe to buy the Bus if you’d like. 🙂

Is anyone else having an issue with their game? I downloaded the update and went through the dialouge, but when Homer gets to “WHY GOD? WHY?” the game closes itself. It’s done that on me 3 times now.
