Note: This has now been fixed. I really appreciate EA listening…
If you check your store you should see the token exchange appear, as long as you have the Mystery Box cleared.
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just a little post to shine a little light on an issue that seems to have flown under EA’s radar with this event:
Converting Mystery Box Tokens to Donuts…if you’ve already cleared the Love and War Mystery Box.
So it seems as though EA forgot to “flip the switch” that makes it so you can convert MB tokens to donuts once you’ve cleared the Love and War Box. This has happened it the past, and EA did send out a patch to correct it. Hopefully, that’s what will happen again this time.
Also, what’s happened in the past, is that once the event’s over an option in the store pops up to convert any unused tokens to donuts. This usually applies to those players who don’t clear their MB and don’t care to. Those who would rather have the donuts. So we’ll see what happens here.
In any event, hopefully EA releases a patch to correct this…if only to ease players minds. Otherwise, those prize track MB tokens are utterly useless for A LOT of players.
I can’t believe how many questions the addition of the Golden Goose Real Estate building opened up! Three HUGE questions, or “goose chases,” that really forced me to do some serious research, math, and some additional Goose Guessing!
1. How Many Land Sections Are There, and how many do I have left?
2. Does it make sense for me to hoard my Free GGR land certificates, or should I move ahead and turn them in for Free Donuts?
3. Where in the heck is “True North” in TSTO?
Well…as much as it seems to be an impossible task to answer all of these in one single post, I am just the tapper to take it on!
I’m not going to go so far as to say that EA/Gracie always get it right. Far from it.
HOWEVER… this game continues to evolve…EA continues to listen…and the best part of it all (when compared to other mobile games), it JUST KEEPS KEEPIN’ ON!
I’m really not sure how many of you play other Mobile Device games. I admit to being pretty limited. Mostly because almost none of them hold my attention. I’m not into “Shoot ’em up” games, or games that require loads of time each session. But, more important, I am not a fan of games that get “stuck” in one mode…and bore me.
I am going to ask a very specific question…and I am asking the good folks at Gracie Films/Fox, and specifically Matt Groening… “Why In The Hell Did You NOT Choose EA for your Futurama game?” I get it for Family Guy. After all…Seth McFarland likes to “be different” (while mostly copying other shows for his content). But, Matt…you have a good thing going with EA and Tapped Out…what made you flip to Tiny Co for Futurama??
I can’t imagine it was the answer to that question might be. But the much touted, “Futurama Worlds of Tomorrow” should be renamed to “Futurama…not much future tomorrow.”
I am always excited when we have a “Super Hero” event…even a mini-event like this one! You see, I too have super powers.
I’m sure many of you who have been following my posts for years already suspected as much. But, it’s true…I really do.
I can’t move things with my mind (yet), or see through walls (although I can usually figure out if someone is wearing Spanx). And yes, I have a very clear power of intuition as to the overall human condition worldwide (you don’t want to know). And, as a result of an NDE in the 90s, often have revelations of how the universe is wired at the quantum level (you really don’t want to know).
However, my real super power, as it pertains to TSTO, is that I almost ALWAYS know where the 3-Donut tile hides when I get a chance to pick!
I woke up this morning to another email update from MoviePass, the “seems to good to be true” service that works kinda like NetFlix, but with real movies. I am hopeful that they are able to figure out a model that works, because Deb and I see a ton of movies with MoviePass, now that we are done with weddings and are true empty-nesters.
But, like so many other great deals in life, they are changing and tightening their service process, because a few (maybe a lot) of people have apparently cheated the system, and found out ways to get more advantage than they are due. This seems to be the norm these days. Great deals, slowly defray into deals that aren’t as good, or simply flip on a dime with little warning. Sovin so many ways, TSTO is a great educator about life in general. In short…”Don’t think that this is the way it is always going to be…because we know you will adjust, as long as we do it slowly.”
As a guy who can take the time to think about such things…I started adding up the number of ways this kind of thinking has slipped into my daily life over the past few months. I was kind of shocked when I started realizing how many things in my life were changing…slowly…and not for the good. And how I was just like the frog in the pot…kind of ignoring the heat, until I reached a boiling point.
The topic of Donut Farming has always been divisive and contentious. But it can also seem frustratingly complex to newer players, or players trying to KEM farm for Free Donuts for the first time. And…I am saying that this is the FINAL time we are going to talk about it. At least I hope so. Either farm, or don’t farm. We’re fine either way!
And again…before we start the conversation, this is NOT the place to brag about your own percentages or giant amassed stockpiles of donuts and XP. There is nothing more boorish than talking about money/XP/Bonuses etc. in public. If you do so…we will delete, shred, and blow out your comment.
This is to help those who are just starting out, and want to understand the “How/Why” of the basics. Everyone plays the game differently…and has their own pace. There is no wrong way to play the game. However, there are ways to play for free…and still get what you want…if you are willing to grind.
As I have said many times…I was late to KEM farming (as in just the last 6 months). I have been playing since Oct. 2012, so I already had a good jump on Bonus Percentage simply by buying Premium Items over the years. I am still hovering around 360%, which is on the “low side” for real KEM SUPER Farmers. But, I have found that this level is more than adequate to bring in between 24-36 donuts a day, if I keep my “Kasual KEM Farming Cycle” going. I am an advocate of Safi’s method…and will break it down even further in this post. Continue reading “The Final Definitive Beginner’s Guide to KEM and Bonus % Farming”→
I begin, by once again stating that I have never really been a donut farmer of any sort, whether it be KEMs or Vehicles (Rat Trap Trucks/Bloodmobiles). I just never thought it was worth the grind, when you consider the value of the time spent. As I have written about in the past, Life Currency (time) is more valuable than almost anything, especially at my advancing age. And even in my current state of semi-semi-semi retirement (I would retire if I could, and didn’t have another wedding to pay for in February…but still find enough time to golf and tap), I find that I need to affix SOME monetary value on time spent grinding…whether it is for Bonuts (bonus donuts) or the “incredible prizes” offered during the latest TSTO events. (spoken with tongue planted firmly in cheek).
I have to admit…I was surprised by the results. I was equally surprised by how the “new normal” has changed my view on what the term “grinding” means.
A couple of weeks ago we challenged you guys to design the next TSTO Addicts T-Shirt by coming up with a slogan we should feature on our next T-Shirt…and boy did you guys come through!
So many great entries, and bunch that cracked us up! It was hard to narrow it down to just 10…but after reading, re-reading, and re-re-reading the lists we were able to get a consensus and pick our top 10 favorites.
Now without further ado….here are the 10 Creative Minds Contest Finalists….
