Tap Ball Removal Is Live (Plus SPOILER Info About Upcoming Content)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Sorry this is a little delayed…it was dinnertime here.  (still not a fan of these late in the day updates EA!)

Anywho…looks like the Tap Ball Removal update has hit our App Stores.  So if you’re all done with Tap Ball and would like your Springfield to go back to normal download the update.  BUT if you’d like to continue the Tap Ball fun you can put off downloading the update until it forces you to (which is usually in 24hrs).

If you choose not to update right now, remember you’re playing on borrowed time.  Once the game forces you to update (again it’s usually within 24hrs) you will be locked out of your game (ie stopping ALL Progress) until you update.  Which means if you don’t cash in your Amateur Bucks before it forces you to update, you’ll miss out.  So proceed with caution!

And now…there’s a little bit of Spoiler Info leaked on Amazon for the next upcoming event on TSTO.  Because it’s posted on Amazon, and comes directly from EA we’re going to post it on Addicts. BUT we’ll do so below the fold, so those that don’t want to know, don’t have to.  However, if you’d like to know…click below.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD

The following can be found on Amazon.com, this is also shown on the Kindle in the App Stores (image included from the App Store from Bunny’s Kindle).

Looks like Springfield Heights and Cookie Kwan are coming!  A major TSTO Expansion is on it’s way (no it’s not live yet…soon i’m sure)…

Saw this on the EA forums first and “ran” over here to comment and let you guys know, since it’s straight from the mouths of EA and not speculation, but of course y’all already knew lol. Really hoping this isn’t going to be a donut-heavy expansion. As long as it’s all mostly for in game cash than I’ll be a happy camper. Any new content is welcome, and an expansion sounds amazing to hold us over until Halloween (my absolute favourite event).
Which reminds me, I just received an order of book I placed online, including the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror collections, like the Heebie Jeebie Hullaballo, Fun-Filled Frightfest, etc. Got each one for about $13 each on Inidigo. High recommend them if you’re a big THoH fan!!

    • I agree completely! Seems like when I first started playing this (over a year ago) you didn’t need so may donuts! I’ve spent at least $50 each month for the past couple months & still wasn’t able to get all of the content. I just can’t afford that kind of spending every month. This game has gotten very expensive! I guess I’ll just have to be satisfied with going mostly freemium. 😡 Rachel

      • Pace yourself. So much of what is offered for donuts has only sentimental value. For example, Plopper rarely participates in events aside from the one that introduced him. At least he has decent animation. Many do not even have that. So watch what the neighbours have and eliminate on that basis. Also you have years of content to catch up on. Had you participated from the beginning, it would have cost you only 20 dollars a month. LOL. I am also playing catchup, so I understand where you are coming from. But the more critically I look at items, the less interested I am in many of them. Concentrate on what you really like or what the item can do for you (like during events) rather than on getting one of everything. Springfield just isn’t big enough for that latter attitude. Think of your Springfield as the best highlights rather than the whole city, as a way to enhance fond memories rather than everything you need to remember.

  2. I’m sure I’ll love the new land, but I have been hoping for a Futurama time machine that would take us onto their delivery ship. That would be such a fun crossover event if we could earn that cast too.

  3. I’m just now thinking about People like Sandra whom would not want to read any of these comments but would like to make some and have questions…

I have a question about pros and cons to downloading early vs squeezing the last of the Tap Balls (boNuts) — some Neighbors already did the download and visited but I can’t visit them… You know what I think I just answered my own question.. Time to let go of my balls, but I don’t know if I have the Spanish-word-for-balls to do it.
    :/

    • lol just let it go… 😉

    • I wasn’t paying attention. She just seems overly defensive of the game to me.

      • Are you taking about me? If so, I’m surprised… I’ve complained about aspects of this game plenty of times!

    • Lol, Tot, you know me too well! I normally avoid spoilers like the plague, but when I saw there were 76 comments listed in this article already, I knew that this was where the action is and decided to let myself be spoiled. (Actually, finding out about a theme ahead of time doesn’t bother me anywhere nearas much as reading the dialog I haven’t gotten to get out hearing about an animation I haven’t gotten to get because, when you’re doing a questline, that’s a big part of the fun!)

I’m still squeezing out bonuts, once I saw that I was getting some new fans and could use that glitch to amass a fair number of bonuts (by doing a LOT of grinding and spending several million dollars). It also got me some fences for my inventory, which I had kinda wanted (would like to have more, actually). So, if they haven’t forced the update yet in the morning, I’ll probably keep working the glitch as long as I can (although I won’t have much time to spend on out because I’m determined to get a lot of REAL work done tomorrow…you know, the kind that people pay me real money to do?).

At any rate, so now I know that people really DO talk about me behind my back, lol! 😉

      • lol i tell myself that everyday… (the work thing)

      • What’s the glitch you’re taking advantage of? I probably won’t get to at this point, so just for curiosity’s sake.

        • Tap fan (preferably in a spot with a lot of them, but NOT around the stadium area), then immediately go to your friends list, then come back to the same spot and the fans are still there. Lather, rinse, repeat. Really quick way to get to the bonuts round (and amass more Amateur Bucks). If you do fans that are to near the stadium though, they stay gone.

      • @sandra

How did i not know about this already…….!!!

        • @Tape – I only found out about it, like, an hour before the event was scheduled to end, myself! It had originally been posted in the one article that I hadn’t bothered to read (about Homerclese).

But I’ve been grinding the heck out if it ever since! 🙂

    • Juevos (eggs) or cajones. In the beginning there was the (Spanish) word, now you know.

    • The Spansh word for egg is “huevo.” It is used colloquially to also describe testicles, because the shape of one testicle is similar to that of an average chicken egg. Because of this, many Spanish-speaking countries use the word “huevo” to refer to testicles. Lack of courage or excessive fear can be described as lacking/having small “huevos.”

So, basically, you don’t have the huevos to part ways with your balls.

  4. Thinking ahead, and I know there’s no real way to have this information until it goes live, but if we do have the ability to put certain buildings in the new expansion, I’m wondering if said characters that go with those buildings would stay there, or if they could wander to the existing Springfield as well..I dunno maybe I’m over thinking this.

  5. I’m a little apprehensive about the expansion…I never spend time in Krustyland…if it is on the same screen as the town and no loading however I’m happy. Was hoping for a nostalgia NPC from the tap ball even though like the sideshow bob clones and the pet mutant and the roleplayer from clash of clans…would’ve like a perma tap ball fan in my Springfield.

    • I like sending people to Krustyland. I think it makes Springfield less crowded and laggy. I also finally reached my personal goal of obtaining 1,000,000 useless Krustyland tickets.

    • Not even a character, I would gladly play 5-10 Donuts for beach or soccer ball bouncing in my city like the community ones.

    • Will probably have to make do with Springy. I’d personally like just a beach ball bouncing around my Springfield

  6. Cookie and massive expansion are nice, BUT KUMIKO AND GOLD MANSION RERELEASES PLZ????? @u@

    • And the Money Pool re-release also 😀

      • Oh yeah, I forgot about the money pool mainly because I never make Stonecutter Burns use it ever anymore lol. I home it comes back as well so you too can have it! 😁

      • @Alissa *sigh* one day I’m sure it will get re-released, when enough people don’t have it, and demand it back again. Shall we start the Money Pool revolution? 😀 lol

      • @Alissa Cool design! I made mine a bit of a community pool. No one uses it like a community pool, too. 😆

    • I truly LONG for a re-release of Kumiko. CBG is LONELY in my town! I’d hoped she would’ve been available at Valentine’s Day this year, but no such luck. 😪

    • Don’t forget about the Cool Brown House!! I missed that one and have always wanted it since I saw it in other people’s towns. My town as well as I’m sure everyone else’s, also needs more differentiation in residential house designs. Not just another individual character’s house.

  7. I’m very excited with the pending new content! Monorail, other stuff, it’s all good. I don’t know why so many people are down on KL. I’m level 55, and though my KL is mostly “complete” (I don’t have a lot of the bonus stuff), but I still enjoy going there. KL has Sideshow You, which pays doughnuts every once in a while. So that makes KLworth it. So Springfield heights sounds very exciting.

Everyone needs to stop complaining about everything! If you don’t like the game anymore, then don’t play it. It’s supposed to be fun, and I still love it.

That’s my 2 cents. Thank you.

    • @LM everyone has two cents, some use it wisely and others just toss it anywhere they want to, if they have that much to throw away. So I want to thank you for being the type that spends it wisely.

the Internet is full of the opposite type, usually people with poor control issues and have little chance to express themselves in the real world. It can be frustrating and unfortunate I have grown a thick skin and tollerance to such. The best advice is: not to take it personal.

There is a freedom of speech yet sometimes all these conflicting and negative opinions can make that freedom a little less cents :p

    • As a place, KL is fine. The problem is the payout schedule. While characters have standard payout schedules, the visitors and buildings give bigger payouts for delayed clicking. The smallest time fraction is 24 hours. Therefore, I stopped visiting until I put characters to work there to buy all the land (nearly there) and decorations needed. Once I have everything I need, then they will go back to Springfield and I will visit KL a couple times a week to harvest tickets. This is not a way to encourage player involvement. As you can see by the events, more frequent rather than less frequent involvement is the way to go. And with so few new items being made available for it (like rainbow trees), this avenue to renewed interest is also blocked. The idea of a theme park is not bad and I think few disagree with that opinion. But EA’s execution of KL is flawed because it does not continue to challenge once the task of building it has been completed. I, myself, have crammed the ticket paying rides by the gate for neighbour ease. Then I created an obstacle course for park visitors to navigate since they never get to use the rides anyway. This gives them something to do and keeps their tickets in a confined space. And once I buy all the land, the rest of the park will be turned into a nature park of some kind. This means I do not have to devote valuable Springfield land to a park but can put it in KL. Once that is done, it will pretty much sit there for neighbours to enjoy while tickets accumulate. Why would I want to spend donuts on KL rides with such a perspective? With no prospects of obtaining donuts, but no way to eliminate KL, I think EA is just letting it wither on the vine instead of revamping it. They could, for example, release Flander’s Bible rides. They could release clowns or other performers. But nothing is coming. The player anger you see is perhaps in part due to feeling like they wasted their time and resources on KL with basically nothing to show for it. Look at most Springfields; the KL shuttle is usually hard to find, not pride of place. I just hope the set up for SH will be better.

      • I agree that I find little reason to interact much with Krustyland these days (no reason to send characters on the rides because I have nothing left to spend tickets on and I can make more cash sending them on regular tasks than converting tickets to cash). However, there’s one thing you said that I disagree with – there IS a way to earn donuts there….Sideshow You! That’s the main reason I keep visiting twice a day – to put in my balloon taps to get to 300 and earn 5 free donuts.

      • I don’t know about this much. I’m level 33 and holding off on investing much energy into KL until I am farther along and want something to do. Right now I usually have plenty to do, including designing my town. I hope that strategy makes going there more fun.

      • I for one am thankful they let it be forgotten. I was annoyed with the whole concept, then hoping they had let it go, along came Penelope, thankfully it has laid to waste since and forever shall remain.

  8. What if the Monorail is how you get to Springfield Heights, kind of like the Krustyland Shuttle?

    • Then it wouldn’t match the show and I would be upset.

      • You don’t like anything. I f I said that I think the sky should be blue, you would say that it should be pink or purple. Sheesh!

      • If everything in the game matched the show exactly, then this would be a model-building app, not a game.

      • To be honest though, this game doesn’t match the show entirely either. There’s lots of content available in the game that doesn’t belong in Springfield. The game is more so taking things featured in The Simpsons (from the show, games or even the comics) and putting them all in this game. We’ve seen stuff from comics (Super-hero event), things from Homer’s thoughts (fort adventure) and from a game (Sequel Shop). Not to mention things that aren’t actually from Springfield, for example Fortress of Choclitude, The Sunsphere, Powell Motors… The list goes on.

      • if ea went by what makes you upset in this game, we’d never have any new content.

      • The sky should be pink or purple, at the right time of day. Have seen one gorgeous purple sunrise in my life. Much better than blue.
But I’m just messing with you, LM. Everyone is hoping that forums like these are being read by someone at EA and their opinion will somehow spark a change for the better. Obviously we enjoy playing on the whole, but there are certain aspects, like when EA changes the rules half way thru and leaves players feeling like royal idiots that really irk sometimes. Like when someone invests hundreds of donuts in Krustyland, takes the time to make a really nice landscape and then pretty much no one ever sees it. We may not say it, but part of us wants others to admire some aspect of our work whether it be beauty, efficiency, cleverness, or something else. No visitors means no admiration is even possible. So what was all the work and donuts for?

        • Yeah eating time in KL is probably for yr own amusement. I barely make it to mine once a month and I don’t think I’ve ever checked out any one else’s With a full friend list. A friend of mine does that. He keeps telling me I should do something with it. I just find it strange he’s there more than I am.

      • @Sraige, I don’t play the game for others to admire my game. I started out playing anonymous and only got an account to get friend points. I didn’t want to miss out on anything. I usually am the one to admire other’s games, though. I do have a few “jokes” in my game, too. They are there for myself to laugh at, but others can enjoy it too.

The more I play, the more your statement might become true for me, though. 🙂

  9. I am going to wait until the last minute to download the removal. I feel like I can never get a chance to redesign my town. I keep having to do just pieces at a time, I need to hit that nuke button.

    • Tell me about it! I hadn’t updated my town since Christmas, got so disgusted with my piled up buildings and decorations that I just spent the last week reworking my whole Springfield. Still don’t have enough room, but at least everything has its place now. 🙂

  10. Oh my, this sounds good, but you never know. I wish they would put out more rides and buildings for KrustyLand at some point too.

Anyone know when this is expected to hit our games?

    • My thought process is not until next week at least.

    • we need more grub stuff, it’s impossible to max out without lots of duplicate buildings

      • Kalav Khalesh (sp?) stands are the best for that…they’re small, and it’s not weird to have a bunch of them in a town (in NYC, it’s not uncommon to see a hot dog cart on every corner in certain neighborhoods!).

  11. Well.. Good to see Cookie “Stay off the West Side!” if this allows a rich district, it sort of implies they might have other districts down the road (subtle pun). I have mentioned the game Simpsons Hit & Run and in it there were verious districts thus this excites me.

I don’t know if this means Springfeild Heights will end up as a sad, deserted wasteland like Krustyland but Me Thinks A Monorail may circle around such a district if not a future district.

Now I’m off to search more S.Heights images and spoilers (but you won’t get any info from me). Again, the above was a guess – I’m going to see if I’m right.

    • Thing is, I like to base my town concept after the show as best as possible. The monorail run through all of town, right past all the regular main buildings. Then it’s torn down. Be strange to have the monorail and even stranger to have it in a weird location like that.

  12. I will wait patiently for any upgrade. I have bought some premium characters just before Tap Ball started, so I have much to explore:-)

  13. Hopefully it is not like Krusty Land, will just be another waste of space. Please let it be good!

  14. Would rather them add more Krustyland content because Springfield Heights will end up being another Krustyland soon.

I love expansions. I just hope the buildings/decorations aren’t limited like they are in KL. I love a good class war! 😉

      • The Problem Child

        ****

      • Would The Addicts be so kind as to do a post about the history behind Springfield Heights?

I started watching The Simpsons back when my parents forbid it and then I went to college in the late 90’s so forget about remembering anything then. I can kinda see how it will tie into the game. Is it going to be a big roll out with lots of task (and XP rewards) or slowly trickle out based on the current game level 55?

      • GodlessSquash

        @TSTO Tapper:
If you get your normal telly via cable or satellite, then you watch Every Simpsons Ever on the FX Now app. You just need your ID/PW from your provider. Some of the greatest stuff is from the first seasons and it’s there, on demand!

      • @GodlessSquash
Forgive me for not being the all knowing of animated TV drama. I keep my rabbit ear antennas just above my aluminum foil beanie, so I must be doing something wrong.
In case there are others out there that vaguely remember the back story of Springfield Heights, please share your opinion. If not then The Addicts shouldn’t waste their time leading into it.

    • Mcclure and cookie are freakingg awesome! However the rest is boring filler no one will care about after they build them.

    • Did you notice that the Springfield Heights Institue Of Technology has the Acronym S.H.I.o.T. so funny. plus hopefully they could dropp prices on some items and Xpansions of Raise the Payouts.

  16. I’m hoping we can place some of our already introduced content there, such as Burns Manor and other wealthy places. It’d make sense and free up some room in our main Springfield. BUT YAY COOKIE!!!!!!111

    • Yes! Me too I feel like I’m always moving my rich stuff around I’m never happy with the placement

      • Yeah I just chuck all my rich stuff at the edge of town, to make it feel secluded. :p

      • Yeah right now most of my rich stuff is taking up the waterfront maybe if they let you put the mansions in Springfield Heights then the middle class could get some waterfront property..

      • GodlessSquash

I went with a gated community plan. I don’t like it, but it works by keeping them in one place yet looking better sited than just another house next to any other house on the same street as a normal house. Personally, if I had one of those houses in real life, I wouldn’t be able to see my neighbors and I’d have a T1 line to the house, backed up with satellite. 😉

      • I made a ritzy shops, restaurants and museums area in the lower right corner by the water. Made sense to me

  17. On a side note, my only fear is that the new expansion will become another K-Land, go so far quest wise, and they forget about it.

  18. Stay off the west side!

  19. Italian Beauty

Hoping the land prices are reasonable, but I’m thinking not. Got a lot of new land during the Tap Ball event due to having to bring my iPad to work so everyone did a few shorter tasks during the work day giving me more cash than usual. Now that I’m back to regular play again, it’s going to be harder to advance as I’m now working on Levels 49 & 50. The buildings are getting pretty pricey. Hoping to get enough cash to start Level 51 this weekend. I like to have a big cash reserve at all times, especially when I’m close to leveling up. Thinking I’ll be at XP Level 55 by the end of the week and will need to buy a lot of Tree Hugging items to get that back to 5 stars.

  20. They doing too much. Krustyland is never used and no body wants a stupid monorail that leads to another town. Keep it simple stupid! Give us lots of land and levels all released at once to keep us busy. EasY

    • I think the mountains will be better than Krustyland. I believe this has been something in the works for over a year honestly..

      • Basic is always better. Snapchat was cool before all these updates. MySpace was cool before changes. Hell the Simpsons show stopped being good after they started trying too hard! Think they’d use that obvious leason

    • speak for yourself, I’ve read on many forums people wanting the monorail. (Note: I don’t care either way)
Also look at it this way: making a new expansion area IF it allows for buildings from springfield (which it has a good chance to…since unlike krustyland , it’s really just a different part of town and could have mansions, buildings, etc. unlike krustyland’s “theme park” style).
it’s a good way to make it so we don’t need even more land in the future. (even if you don’t need new land there’s many people that even still do or will soon, not to mention you will sometime in the future too if you keep playing long.). There cannot be much new land in regular springfield due to memory issues / town becoming too large on most people’s devices…so a new expansion area would solve that problem as far as giving more space, but not taking up memory on the device.

    • Ciarathomp988

“Nobody wants a stupid monorail” LOL it’s pretty much THE most requested item..

    • I am not a fan of a monorail since I would just be broken. But I am really really really really hoping for the giant wall from the area-code dispute!! And we seriously need to get some of the bands as characters. I think that episode was The Who. Maybe? Personally I’ve been really hoping for Aerosmith & Smashing Pumpkins for a band tie-in but The Who would be pretty awesome too. Of course, course they would need an actual task ON the wall. Oh, one can dream. 😉

  21. moviebuff3000

Interesting. Hope we get a re-release of Kumiko also. Need her to finish off the Helpful Guest Stars collection.

  22. Wow! This is the most exciting news yet!

  23. OMG, i’m so excited. i think i might faint somebody catch me

  24. Excited for the new expansion. Wondering if this means they will be slowing down or stopping update levels. I am guessing not since they didnt during the Krustyland update. And I imagine Cookie will be playable in Springfield like Princess Name Escapes Me I Want to say Petunia?

  25. I’m scared. I really hope it’s not like Krustyland

    • I think it’ll be better honestly. I remember a while back we had a reader here comment that they used to work for EA and were involved with the mountain expansion. So nice to see it finally coming into the game

      • A dry heave is better than Krustyland. I’m really afraid this would require bouncing back and forth, love the game and I’ll still play but ignore it like I do Krustyland. Just work with the land I have. If the new buildings can only go in the expansion, then I’m done

      • The jumping, loading, and connecting to Krustyland is the worst part. I am understanding of how that works with Neighbors, but it shouldn’t feel that way when I “visit” myself. I also hope that this new expansion does not work that way and that they also fix the experience with Krustyland. Figure it out, EA.

  26. Billowy backpacks!!

  27. I just hope we can move some buildings to the new area (the more “high class ones…like the fancy school who’s name I forgot just now.. + all the mansions…) that would free up tons of land, as well as make sense (that certain buildings aren’t in the original springfield. …like Herb’s mansion..)

  28. LameO

  29. The Problem Child

Thanks for posting this. all I can say is WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s the speculations begin. Been looking up the buildings that are officially considered Springfield Heights, and hoping for Red Blazer Realty for both Cookie and a new skin for Marge!
