Popping in with another bug/glitch report for TSTO…this time related to the Springfield Heights update. Because one centralized placed where you guys can report your issues and see that you’re not alone in them…is better than issues scattered all over various posts…and feeling like you’re the only one with the problem. 🙂
Before we get into it just a note, yesterday I went over some issues that were happening since Tap Ball was removed, some of these are still going on. So if you don’t see your issue covered in this post, try checking out yesterdays crash report post to see if it’s covered there. (You can view yesterday’s post here)
So now, let’s tackle some of the common issues we’re seeing popup since Springfield Heights hit our towns including (but not limited to): missing donuts, land errors, missing currency and more! So let’s dive in shall we?
Let’s start with the big one…MISSING DONUTS!
There are LOADS of reports from you guys in the comments about your donuts going missing since the launch of Springfield Heights. And from what I understand EA is inundated with complaints about the missing donuts. Good. Keep flooding them. The more reports they get, the quicker it’ll get resolved.
So here’s the deal with the missing donuts….yes they’re really missing. No you’re not going crazy. EA IS aware of the situation and is currently working on a patch for it. Hopefully the patch will hit in 24-48hrs. In the meantime I still recommend contacting them and letting them know what’s happened in your game, just in case the patch doesn’t work at least there’s proof you contacted them.
So basically you’ve got two options at this point: 1- Contact EA (which I recommend doing) or 2- Do nothing and wait till the patch hits.

Land Error
Some of you are reporting seeing this message in your game (or some version of it): “Land Error Contact Support”.
If this happens to you first try uninstalling/restarting your device/reinstalling TSTO. See if this helps clear it (could just be a bad file). If that doesn’t work, you’ve got to do what the message says and Contact EA.
We have seen a few reports of this, so if you’re getting it you’re not alone. But from what we can see you do have to contact EA to get it cleared.

Missing Springfield Heights Currency

Seeing reports from a few of you that you’re randomly missing Springfield Heights Currency. You’ll have 200, not buy anything and then be down to 180.
If this is happening to you…stop and think for a minute. Ask yourself if you’ve recently crafted Smart Devices. Each Smart Device you craft requires 2 and 1. So if you’ve recently acquired some smart devices…that could be why your currency has gone missing.
IF you don’t have any smart devices, heck if you haven’t unlocked the Springfield Institute of Technology…then stop and think if you recently unlocked a character to complete the task to get items. Remember after the initial 1-2 characters in each building it requires Springfield Heights Currency to unlock more. So that could also be where it’s going.
IF you don’t have an smart devices, if you haven’t recently unlocked any new characters to get currency…then contact EA.

Sending Characters on Currency Earning Tasks And Not Getting the Right Payout In Return
Seeing reports from a few of you that you send characters on a currency earning task that should yield 5 (for example) coffees, and you’re bank is only increasing by 3.
If this is happening to you follow the same procedures for the missing currency above…check to see if you created any smart devices or unlocked any new characters inbetween the time waiting for the currency task to complete.
IF you don’t have an smart devices, if you haven’t recently unlocked any new characters to get currency…then contact EA.

FPs Missing from Clearing Handshakes
Seeing reports from a few of you, and noticing in my own town, that when you tap on handshakes in your town they’re not dropping FPs (
) like the used to.
First, it’s not every building. Some buildings are still awarding them, but it is most of them. Not sure if this is a permanent change or just a bug that’ll get fixed with the next download.
For now my recommendation is to just sit tight with it and see what happens. But if it’s really bugging you contact EA.

I Can No Longer Spray Paint A Neighbor
It’s not just you. It looks like, at least for now, Vandalism Actions have been disabled. So you can no longer Spray Paint Moe’s, Town Hall or Springfield Elementary.
I have a feeling this has something to do with a vandalizing glitch that caused games to crash. So I have a feeling it will come back up eventually. So for now just sit tight…
And that my friends completes the first Springfield Heights Glitch/Bug report. The biggest issue is those missing donuts, and I can assure you they’re working no restoring them! So let’s hope they’re back soon!

I’m experiencing something different than what’s been mentioned here. After updating, all the roads and land in my Springfield are messed up. Along the beach there is pavement in random places instead of sand. Where roads used to be are grass and pavement. All water is gone. All my buildings are as they should be but the land itself is a complete mess.
Several people have reported that here. Call EA.
Has anyone noticed a glitch with the tasks on the left hand side? I had a task to upgrade my valet parking structure to level 2. I visited a friend’s neighborhood and came back to the “congrats, you finished the task” screen, yet I had not finished it. Then it hits with a task to level up to X. Even with a restart it doesn’t revert back. This has happened on several tasks so far.
The same thing happened to me. So I guess I have two of the glitches. Loss of doughnuts, and this other thing. Ugh. I wish EA would test these things before they release the updates.

OK, I have an issue that I hope you haven’t covered. I didn’t see any post, but if I missed it, apologies.
I had a bunch of building tasks in SH. I went to my neighbors’ towns, and when I came back, they all popped up as completed. So, for example, I “completed” the task to level up the office building to level 3, even though I haven’t done that yet (and am still sitting in my town with a level 2 office).
I got my other soccer net just in time lol before it force me updated
Sorry if I’m repeating what others have said! It’s past midnight and I ought to be asleep. Just had live chat with EA customer support. Refusing to reinstate donuts and told me to post on the ea forums (can’t really be bothered tbh). They are apparently working on a solution but my case is left open in case it isn’t resolved. First time I’ve got annoyed with cs who are usually quite helpful. We will see what happens!
These jerks at EA still haven’t released a patch. All my land has moved over and if i try to move a building then other buildings disappear. Impossible to do the Springfield Heights mission since Burns is missing. Same problem whether on iOS or Android.
Have you contacted them? That’s different than the donut patch everyone’s waiting on
Yes I contacted them yesterday..I’m not the only person with this problem. They said they are working on a patch and expect it to be out within 3 days, they sure are taking their sweet time
Ho hum. Quite enjoying the new things to do. Happily tapping along seeing what land extensions I could get when all my donuts vanished. Also had an issue when the update first hit with a vanishing mystery box but that was sorted quite quickly (given 6 donuts.) Wonder if EA live chat people are still awake…!
I think I’m experiencing a positive glitch, I’ve won the jackpot on the scratch’ three times today!
There’s also an upgrading problem similar to the money mountain one when that first launched. I had a level 2 and level 3 condo in SH, then I did my daily neighbours visit, and when I returned to my Springfield I got 3 “task complete” messages and both condos were suddenly level 4. Mostly worried about the fact I don’t think I got the real estate bonuses for them 🙁
Some People are paying hard earned Cash to spend on Donuts for This game and EA just take the piss by installing an update that wasn’t ready to be set on us Because of all its glitches lost all my donuts and if I don’t get them back with this so called patch I will be deleting the game, such a shame as I have enjoyed playing and creating! But greed is the thing with EA they take your donuts just because they can! they cant wait for you to spend on their Mediocre Stuff. Yesterday, I’d just bought a boatload of donuts. Checked my bank account and yep, the money had been removed. However, the donuts did not show up in my game. Did all the usual things like a hard reboot, uninstall and reinstalling the game, etc, etc. Finally put in a request for a one on one phone call. Got a rep who clearly didn’t have English as their first language. After much ‘waiting on hold’, I was basically told the only thing the rep could do was offer me a refund…that will take 7 to 10 business days before the money was back in my account. Hello!! There are some time sensitive items in the store I would like to purchase but, I’m likely going to unable to get them at all now due to the long wait time for the refund.
I come over to the addict site and find some folks ARE getting their donuts back. So, why not me??!! Is it because I had just purchased my donuts just as the glitch hit me? Or is it the amount of donuts? (2400) No clue, but I am donut-less until either a patch comes out, or I find a rep who can do more than just offering me a refund.
Either way, I’m kinda p*ssed now.
You can contact Google/Apple/Amazon and tell them you didn’t receive the items and ask for a refund. That sometimes is quicker
Definitely try for a different rep. The one you got might not know English or your particular accent well enough to understand what you were talking about. Or it might be a knowledge problem more than a language problem. When faced with something off their script or requiring a supervisor, some customer service reps just lie to get rid of you.
Had donuts missing also. Contacted EA through live chat. Donuts replaced. Only took like 10 minutes. He was very nice. So now i can continue tapping..
Forced update today. That was great while it lasted!
I wished for it then EA granted it. I was grinding and I couldn’t stop. lol.
Poop. I am finally being forced to update to the SH.
I was bored with Tapball but I got over 150 Bonuts during this event.
I couldn’t update and stop getting them as a freemium player, that is like a years worth of donuts for me usually… Oh well, time to move on up!
Wow, you must have grinded hard! I only got like a tenth of that.
There was a bug in the game that made it possible to get to bonut rounds very quickly (and, when you did, you got two of them in a row!). I only found out about it right before the game was officially about to end (the original end date/time), but I’ve been grinding hard whenever I’ve had free time since then and also got about 150 donuts (and about 20 fences).
I was sorry to see the forced update, but I guess also kinda relieved to be able to relax more now, lol!

I know it’s obsolete now, but out of curiosity, what was the glitch? How did you get those extra donuts?
Tap fans, go to neighbor list immediately, before the fans disappear, then come back and fans are right where you left them (unless they were right near the stadium, then they were gone). Repeat ad nauseam, ringing up pennants and ABs. The extra cool thing, when you got this a bonuts round, you’d get two of them right in succession, for a potential of 6 donuts for generally less work than visiting all of your neighbours!
Yes, I was within three hours of getting the triple decker stadium seats (the last daily training prize I wanted) when they forced the update on me this morning. At least I got Kung Fu Comic Book Guy and a few extra donuts! I must not be eligible yet for the new stuff anyway (only on level 21), they should have left me happily tapballing.
Wow. I was going to ask if anyone else is experiencing Otto wandering before starting his task at Furniture store and Grandpa doing the same before entering his Coffee Shop task. It’s pretty annoying. But since I’m not missing donuts or seeing any of the other major glitches, I’ll count myself lucky for now.
I was going to do the same. It is a very annoying bug as I’ve had him wander for a whole 30s, so his increased payout is sometimes moot since he does his task so much less, but I too still seem okay elsewhere so I won’t complain too much. Still a bug that should eventually be addressed.
I’m experiencing the same with grampa. Also sometimes Lisa and mrs krabapple.
But I agree, not much of an issue relative to what others are dealing with!
If you just let Otto come out of the store and finish his hand-waving gesture before sending him on the task, he’ll go straight in the building without wandering around.
I just figured the otto thing was because he used the water pipe he’s buying at the furniture store, so he got distracted 😉
aaaarghhh! so annoyed …just lost 5 donuts and 14 gold statues also disappeared just as I was about to buy a bit of land grrrrr X /
so I decided to spend all my donuts instead of saving them for Halloween just in case anymore disappeared as I had a nightmare trying to contact EA about it! Couldn’t get the chat to work on my mobile and then asked for a call back only to find they don’t do the UK and you cannot email them nymore either…grrr …ok rant over just bought rancho relaxo to complete a set
I lost 103 donuts with the update. I am quite pissed off but the ea rep said they’re working on it. I like the heights. Only complaint is the number of items you get at a time. 10 would of been nice instead of 7.
Happy Friday everyone in tapping land! Finally after 2 hours my game is fixed (fingers crossed don’t want to jinx)! I had to uninstall & reinstall which as you said took forever to download. Still had missing donuts, so used the call me option to EA. He called before I could finish writing case number down, was very nice, said yes it’s going around thanked me for being polite, & I had donuts back before we hung up! Said if game acts up again to call back, he waited while I did a few tasks to make sure was working ok. So if you are having problems my suggestion is to use call me back option, but be as nice & calm as you can, it’s not the person who answers phone fault & they deal with problems all day, so someone being nice makes there day!
P.s. Don’t forget to turn on Christmas lights!

I’ve been one of those grinders who is flying through the update trying to get as much land as possible before i nuclear and re-do my springfield — el woohoo!
just thought I’d share the bug i came upon… when i visit another neighbor who has upgraded something higher than i have (eg. i have Valet 2 and they have Valet 3) when I log back into my springfield it says “task completed” and rewards me $100 without having actually updated my valet to 3rd rank. The game then proceeds to give me the questline to unlock Valet 4 before i even have Valet 3. If i visit a neighbor who has Valet 4 it is again, quest completed. For me personally this has affected Classic Mansion, Valet, Business Center and Modern Mansion. I updated my Condo to 5 rather quickly so i didnt experience it there.

Thanks for all the information. Just one observation after just a couple days one of the players on my friends list is already over 200M in real estate value. How is that possible? Without an AmEx Black I mean. Lol
Lots of grinding. If you spend a lot of time in the game it’s easy to get there. I’d be more suspicious of those who already have a billion….
Meh 30 of my donuts vanished as well…
… It’s getting worse though. I can’t get on anymore, don’t even get the Bart screen, it all just turns black once I try to open the app.
Could play this morning, the issue started around noon here in Europe.
Tried deinstall and the likes, still nothing is happening.
Anyone else experiencing this annoying issue?
Might be your internet connection. I have that problem when my connection isn’t super strong. Screen stays black for a couple of minutes and then eventually tsto loads

I am on vacation and the wifi is way better than at home, where I never experienced this issue.

I keep sending characters on SH currency tasks and they keep ending up doing normal cash tasks in Springfield????
Not sure i’m following….so you’re sending them to make furniture etc and they’re going to springfield instead? Are you tapping on the shops to start those tasks?
Noticed I was missing about 50 donuts, so I contacted EA. They called me within seconds, first call was disconnected, and my case was closed. Called back to explain and was transferred to a guy name Jason who went into my game and restored my donuts plus some extra sprinkles for my trouble. Happy Tappin
You were lucky. I have contacted Ea twice. They assure me that we’re all going to get our doughnuts back, but I wasn’t lucky enough to chat with someone like you did. I’m envious of your situation, because in all likelihood, you’re going to get your missing doughnuts back when the update hits- which in your case means double the doughnuts that you lost.
Carefully consider your “nuke” option. I never imagined it would take so much time & effort to rebuild. If you just put out the buildings & important items without much thought it may only take several hours. But if you are picky on placement & decor it will take a very long time to rebuild. I am a bit OCD & have probably spent 20-30 hours placing & replacing items to get things to look ok. I would expect the average player would take maybe half that long. But please know that it may still be 10/15 hours of work. I have a few friends who got frustrated & simply stopped playing after they destroyed their town. My suggestion would be to rework the city in block segments. I think the time is pretty equivalent either way. Just give it some careful thought before you decide. 😉

Thanks guys. I contacted ea today as I thought I was going crazy. Had almost 100 donuts vanish! I wouldn’t be concerned but that’s real money and hard work doing a disappearing act. They were actually helpful and told me the Springfield heights is getting a patch.
I think there’s another glitch I was going through my friends towns and I hit thier pool and ask me if I wanted to upgrade their pool for $10,000 weird I don’t know if that’s normal or not never encountered that before. But I know there’s a lot of glitches going around right now so it’s probably just another glitch, maybe anybody else run into that?

I’m still playing tapball (iOS) and it hasn’t forced update yet. I’ve got two of everything now so wondering whether to just abandon it and update. Or stick to it and grind out more fences. Have made at least 5 extra rounds of bonuts as well since the update hit the app store.
I’ve been doing the same thing- at this point, I’m kind of wondering if we are ever going to be forced to update- EA seems to have its hands full working on patches related to the Heights issues. Between all the glitches with the expansion and not really caring about the temp premium items available as of right now in the Heights, I figure why not just keep grinding out on tapball for free donuts. Only real downside is most of my neighbors have upgraded and I have less and less neighbors to visit each day (still a few points away from the latest friendship points prize) so I figure the neighbor count dwindles to single digits, I might call it a day and upgrade at that point (although 1 more soccer goal would be nice).
@JaimieWolf – Here’s a tip… You can still visit neighbors (and they’ll still have fans) if you go into your Other Springfield and then use the arrows to navigate from town to town. It will still allow you only three taps per neighbor (the counter when you’re in the town will be correct), but when you go back to your neighbor list, they’ll all (except Other Springfield) show 3 taps left (which is what I think you’ll get as soon as you upgrade, even if your timers hadn’t reset from the tattoos you did in the Tap Ball version).

Next event I’m waiting it out again (as long as there are bonuts). I think I saved myself from worrying about losing donuts or the other bugs people experienced. EA, in its great wisdom, will force us to switch once the other poor souls (players) find bugs for them to squash. hehe.
Well, the borrowed time is officially over. Just forced to update. C’est la vie!
I have chatted with someone from EA and they said they were aware of the situation. When I checked my email I saw they sent me a code. But I have no idea what to to with it.
The code is probably for discount at the store. That’s my guess anyway
I’m glad I didn’t updated it yet. I’m so close working on second soccer net. 1650 from 1800 I hope the force doesn’t happen to later or next day =)
I thought I was safe since everything seemed okay after yesterday’ sulfate. But then when I logged back on this evening my donuts were at ZERO! All gone! Ack! I had a few hundred. So I followed your instructions and just finished doing a live chat at 1:30am, PDT. I was surprised it was so fast. The person was very nice and said they need to send it up for someone else to look at (I think) and then they’ll email me. They did say it’s a known problem. So hopefully I’ll get at least most of them back fairly soon? I sure hope so!
