Black Friday Breakdown…Bronze Mystery Box

As was previewed on Monday in this post here, Black Friday has arrived (albeit, a day earlier than expected) and brought with it eight Mystery Boxes. Black Friday in the US is the day after Thanksgiving and is known for it’s promotional sales (Think “Boxing Day” sales the day after Christmas for those in the Commonwealth). So today and tomorrow, I’ll take an in-depth look at each of these eight Mystery Boxes.

Happy Turkey Day!

Hey Howdy Hey Turkey Tappers!

It’s finally Turkey Day here in the US!  And you know what that means…Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Apple and Pumpkin pie, football, stretchy pants and insane sales at the mall! (or in my case, for those who listened Episode 19 of Addicts Live, Mashed Potatoes, and Bread…check out Episode 19 to see how we all celebrate(d) Thanksgiving!))

Oh and a special Shoutout to my Mom and Dad who are celebrating their 38th Wedding Anniversary today.  Despite what EA says, the Magic is very much alive in their marriage! 

You may notice things a little quiet around here today (you can always check out the details of the Thanksgiving Mini Event here) as we take the day to celebrate the holiday with our families.  Although…..Super Safi will likely be lurking around the comments, as Canadians celebrated Thanksgiving last month.  So like a lot of you, Safi will be working today too!

And yes, the mystery boxes hit today.   We’ll have breakdowns for each box,  like we always do.  But be patient.  No rush to get everything, it’s not going anywhere today.

However, we couldn’t let a day dedicated to being thankful go by without a special THANK YOU to YOU…our AMAZING readers!  We are so thankful for each and every one of you that take the time to read our posts and comment.  So from Patric, Wookiee, Safi and myself…THANK YOU!!  You guys rock and we couldn’t do this without you!

Here at Addicts we’ve all been blessed in so many ways and we hope you have too. In that spirit we’d like to invite you to take a moment and let us know in the comments below what you’re thankful for this Thanksgiving! We can’t wait to see what you say!

Happy Hump Day – Let the Holidays Begin! Black Friday Edition

“Back in the Day,” (when TSTOAddicts, TSTOFriends, TSTOTips, and yes…even TSTOTopix) were all struggling to get “audience share” in what was then known as “the Great TSTO Blog-O-Sphere,” I used to write regularly for both TSTOTips (that is a long story of intrigue, mayhem, and backchannel espionage, because 4 years ago today, TSTOFriends hadn’t even launched yet), as well as TSTOAddicts.  For TSTOAddicts, I wrote three regular weekly posts, “ManicMonday,” “HumpDay” and “TGIF.” That was a loooooooooooooong time ago. And of course, we all know the sordid tale of how Alissa ended up being the “Godmother of TSTO” and TSTO Addicts came out on top as the de-facto “Legit Leading Syndicate” of TSTO Blogs. We are all better tappers for the journey…The right blog came out on top! 

If you don’t know all of the history…tough beans.  We aren’t going to rehash it all again.  Most of those who were in the middle of the “Great Blog-O-Sphere Wars of 2013″ are swimming with the fishes, or have skulked off into some corner of the ” TSTO Dark Web” (TSTO message boards, Facebook pages, Reddit, the Forum, or in the case of Ryan, got a real life!).  They now spend most of their time talking among themselves, to further mythologize their roles in the early TSTO history, or whine (through text messages or subtle comments on blog posts), when one of us who was actually on the inside, gets too chippy. But, I digress…

It’s HUMP DAY (also known as Wednesday…the day you get over the hump for the work week), and I am here to offer some helpful tips in making your Black Friday Sales Shopping EAsier!

I bring up the “history” of the “Blog-O-Sphere” because in TSTO terms, we have been tapping and blogging FOR AN ETERNITY.  If a human year equals seven “Dog Years,” then there has to be fifteen TSTO years in a human year…which means in TSTO Years, we have been blogging for well over 60 years (which ironically, crosses over into my human age, of “soon-to-be-64”).  What any of this means, is that we have been around the block for ALL of the TSTO Black Fridays and know our way around the BEST DEALS, that offer the BEST VALUES, for the BEST PRICES!!

Showoff Annoucement: Thanksgiving 2017

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Springfield designs of Gobble Gobble (or not so Gobble Gobble) Proportions!  We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff featuring your Thanksgiving inspired designs!  So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

We’re nearing the end of the Thanksgiving Mini-Event and heck TOMORROW is the actual Thanksgiving here in America, so what better time than now to show off your towns?!  So send us your Thanksgiving inspired designs (NOT limited to this event, can be ANY Thanksgiving inspired design from events past) and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post, featuring your designs, on TUESDAY November 28th…so you’ve got about a week (ok a day short of a week) to prep your towns.  Take your time and design as you see fit! 🙂

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm EDT Monday, November 27th.  Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

From the Mouths of Addicts: All I Want for Christmas

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Welcome to another edition of From the Mouths of Addicts, where YOU get to sound off on anything and everything in the world of Tapped Out!  This week’s post comes to us from one of our frequent commenters and guest blogger…Happy Tapper! 

Sam has some thoughts, musings and wishes for Christmas in TSTO!  Enjoy it my friends!  Here’s HappyTapper’s (Sam)…and his Christmas Wishes  -Alissa 

Hello fellow tappers. My name is HappyTapper or Sam and I want to start this post by saying … I don’t like Halloween. I’m WAY more of a Christmas lad. Even though we got a pretty naff Halloween event, I’m crossing my fingers for a truly fun Christmas event so that I forget “The Event to Not be Named” (Xmas 2016). As soon as I knew Halloween was getting quite repetitive and boring, I started to plan my perfect Christmas in TSTO because I’m sad, have no life and have nothing better to do then rewatch Simpsons episodes and organise an event that I know won’t even have an impact. When I thought about Christmas in the game I got quite worried because I really couldn’t think of much left to add because there aren’t a lot of Christmas episodes to pull from and the Christmas episodes that they have normally stay local to “normal” Springfield so don’t have much Christmas content for the game. BUT after some Christmas episode rewatching I had an idea for a Christmas event that pulled together bits and bobs of Festive content that I’d really like in the game.

I know that EA will be very near to finishing the Christmas event so I’m not writing this post to give EA an idea, I wanted to publish my ideas and thoughts here because I thought that if I enjoy these kind of posts then maybe some of you will. So let the ramble begin … Continue reading →

So Christmas is my favorite holiday/time of the year (in case you didn’t already know).  I’m affectionately known in my family as a Griswold because I tend to get a little carried away with the Christmas lights….maybe a little more than Clark….if you could believe anyone gets more carried away than Clark.

But of course, today is November 21st and we’re still more than a month away from Christmas.  Heck, Thanksgiving is still two days away.  So when is it too early to turn on your Christmas Lights?

Turbo Tappin’ (Animal Free) Thanksgiving 2017: Premium Characters

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s the holiday season! Here in America we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving…the one holiday that stands between us and Christmas….so naturally the Simpsons have to celebrate!  While I think it would have been awesome to get a confetti shooting Homer balloon from the recent episode, this mini event is fun too!

Of course, as with all events, premium characters are a part of the fun.  With this event two premium characters (well one character and one costume) have been introduced…Quinn and Coat of Foxes Krusty.  Each comes equipped with their own questline to work your way through (and yes, they’ll be around when the event is over). So let’s take a look at the premium questlines for this Gone to the Birds Thanksgiving…

Cyber Monday Sale *** SPOILERS ***

Many times we state we only put up Spoilers when we feel there is a specific need or good reasoning behind it. The main issue is EA can, has, and will change their minds on us and the information when it goes live may be different then initially “teased” to us. That being said, I also know MANY of you just want to get an idea of what Buildings, Characters, and Decorations may be coming up on Cyber Monday. Therefore, I think this is one of those times that we can put some Spoilers up. 🙂

I have compiled a list of those “teased” items, just beware these are indeed Spoilers and due to early release on the info… what you actually see in YOUR game may vary on item and timing. Thanksgiving 2017 Prize Overview

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Thanksgiving 2017 has arrived in Springfield!  And this year there’s a variety of tasks to complete and prizes to earn.  Unlike last year, and other mini-events, where I break each prize down individually, this time I opted to just do one post for all of the prizes.  Since (at least here in America) it’s a holiday week, so we’re trying to smush as much as possible in a short week.

With 5 prizes in all (6 really, because one prize has 2 components), 4 actual prizes for your town and 1 new animation for Homer & Bart, it can be a lot to try and fit/work into your Springfield.  So let’s take a look at each prize now and break it all down for you….

Should I Spend Donuts on the Returning Thanksgiving Content?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Gooble Gobble Tappers!  It’s nearly Turkey Day here in America…where our favorite yellow family is located…which means time for an all-new mini event themed around Turkey! Or in this case…not eating Turkey.  Of course all new anything in Springfield means there are items back in our stores…just asking us to drop our sprinkles.

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
