Many times we state we only put up Spoilers when we feel there is a specific need or good reasoning behind it. The main issue is EA can, has, and will change their minds on us and the information when it goes live may be different then initially “teased” to us. That being said, I also know MANY of you just want to get an idea of what Buildings, Characters, and Decorations may be coming up on Black Friday. Therefore, I think this is one of those times that we can put some Spoilers up. 🙂

I have compiled a list of those “teased” items, just beware these are indeed Spoilers and due to early release on the info… what you actually see in YOUR game may vary on item and timing. Always double check YOUR game to see what pops up in YOUR game and be sure to come back on Friday for the most accurate information on how these sales will play out for YOU. 🙂

Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Friday Filler – Thanks for Thanksgiving…Hold the Turkey

Thank Grog It’s Firday!!

Yep. Been “one of those weeks” when the combination of work, tapping, charities, and volunteerism has colluded to make my life a bit insane. And then…there was the whole iOS debacle with the Thanksgiving takedown/launch.

I’m not going to take the blame for this. Even though, there was a part of my paranoid “lizard brain” that immediately seized upon the “EA is doing this to me because of the things I have said about their lazyassprogramming (EALP) in the last event!” But, would they penalize an entire subset of players (millions of others who use iOS padular devices) just to get at me????   Well…like I said…it was likely just my “lizard brain” talking.

But, this time of year, due to a wide range of reasons, I prefer to admit to calling my “lizard brain” my “turkey brain.”  It’s not that great a leap, as I’ll explain.

But with the NEW THANKSGIVING MINI-EVENT gobbling up our tapping time, it is not so much  a question of IF we are going to succumb to turkeys, but how MUCH turkey we are willing to endure? And do we really want a Turkey NPC roaming our towns?

And…perhaps Lisa is on to something!  Maybe it’s time to Turn Away From Turkey, and look for an alternative. If for no other reason, than to help stem the rising Rural Turkey Invasion!

Should I Spend Donuts on Coat of Foxes Krusty?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s the holiday season! Here in America we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving…the one holiday that stands between us and Christmas….so naturally, the Simpsons have to celebrate!  While I think it would have been awesome to get a confetti-shooting Homer balloon from last Sunday’s episode, this mini event is fun too!  And as always, an all-new event (of any size) means loads of new premium items in our stores just tempting us to drop those donuts while they’re hot!

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

About the Ads

Seeing reports from some of you via the comments or email that you’re having issues with the Ads that are appearing on this site.

First, let me remind you that we have ZERO control over the ads that are on this site.  We just tell WordPress it’s ok to have ads here (since that’s how we make the money to run this site), and they put the ads on our site.  So everything you see…whether a video or not…that has that ADVERTISEMENT in gray written over it is from WordPress’ ad partners.  Not us.

Note: I know some of you will use Ad Blockers.  But just remember, as annoying as the ads are they help this site function.  Without the ad dollars, this site wouldn’t exist.  We don’t ask readers for donations & i’ve spent enough out of pocket dollars over the last few years that I’m done pulling my own money to keep things running.  So without Ad revenue, we’d have to shut the site down. 

There are a few types of ads we’re seeing reported:

Offensive Ads…content of the ad offends you or is inappropriate for this type of site.

Video Ads….these are ads that popup and run the video and basically take over the site.  They hijack your scroll so you can’t move around the page or read comments.  (not just auto-play videos, these are ones that actually prevent you from scrolling)

Site Redirects…this is something that happens.  A popup appears and redirects you to another site or the app store.

So here’s the info on each, and what to do if you see them…

Offensive Ads….take a screenshot, right click and copy the URL associated with the Ad.  Then report it to WordPress here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/

Video Ads…. I have reported these to WordPress.  Here’s the most recent update I received:

Our ads team has reported the issue to the advertiser and they were working on fixing it.

If the user does notice it, please encourage them to let us know via the link I sent you earlier. That way they can narrow it down to the particular advertiser.

So, if you’re still having problems with these ads follow the steps listed in Offensive Ads and report to WordPress here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/

And finally…

Site Redirects…these are not caused by WordPress or this site.  These are caused by Adware/Malware on your device. (yes even iOS devices are subject to this as well)  My best advice here is to Google how to remove AdWare/Malware from your particular device and follow those instructions. I had the same issue in the past, and once I did the clean up it stopped.

Hope this helps create less frustration for some of you when visiting this site!  And please remember to report the Ads directly to WordPress here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/ and not to us.  We have no control over them and sometimes it’s better if WordPress sees the report direct from the user impacted than from us.
