So something EA’s been slowly rolling out over the last year or so is this new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them) Where they attach a premium, limited-time, character to one of the donut bundles in addition to bonus donuts.
This time around we’re being offered Sven Golly, a FULL character, for a tray of 132 donuts (plus some Bonus Donuts). While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Sven, his tasks and other details you may be curious about.
So let’s consider this an abbreviated Should I Buy….
So with this event, EA has introduced the first costume for Squeaky Voice Teen, Squeaky Voice Peasant. You’ll notice that this post is called Should I Buy, instead of Should I Spend Donuts On…why? Because to get this costume you’ll literally have to buy it. There’s no amount of bonuts that’ll unlock it for you, just cold, hard cash.
So is it work the cash investment? Let’s take a look…
Update: Ok so there are some bugs with this. Some of you are reporting you’ve purchased Shelbyville, but you still don’t see this offer. In fact the Stack of Donuts option is completely missing from your store.
And some of you are reporting you didn’t purchase shelbyville but you have this offer as well.
And some of you are reporting you didn’t purchase shelbyville, but you don’t have this offer available. (like my example below)
I did a little checking. I THINK the issue is with iOS. The offer appears on my Android phone, in both my A and B games (A game I had Shelbyville, B game I did not). If you’re having the issue, and you’re on iOS let me know and contact EA.
If you’re having the issues and you’re on Android, let me know this theory is wrong lol.
Update: For those asking, the only thing I see Peasant SVT doing for the event, is he earns Goblin Gold (crafting currency) with his 8hr task. 24 Goblin Gold/8hrs. But yes, a full breakdown/SIB post will be up on him…
And Another Thing… Some of you outside of the US are commenting about the cost of donuts in my game, and how it’s way cheaper than the cost in your games. We’ve been seeing this for 3 years. The price you see below in MY game (and i’m located in the US) is the price EA gets for the donuts. They haven’t raised their prices in 5 years. They’re exactly the same. It’s not EA.
It’s Apple/Google. I know everyone wants to blame EA, but it’s not them. EA gets what you see listed per transaction. Anything over that in your game is taxes/fees/conversion charged by Apple/Google. (It’s like this in other games too….)
This post is a little older, since then Google has made the changes as well (and more countries are impacted), but here’s some quick details:
You enjoying the first 3 days of the Christmas Update? Are you staying on track with your Gift Card Grabbing? (check out Bunny’s Calendar to see if you’re on the right track)
We’ve been reading each and every one of your comments (we LOVE hearing from you guys, keep them coming!) and I wanted to take a moment to address a couple of questions that have come up over and over again in the comments. A lot of you are asking “How Do I Get the Grumple?”, “I Want to Buy Donuts, Any truth to the Gil rumor?” & “Is EA planning any Christmas surprises? Like Thanksgiving.” Well….we’ve finally gotten answers from our resident IT nerd and we’re happy to share all of the Addicts confirmed (from game files) info with our favorite fellow Addicts!
First up…let’s talk everyone’s favorite salesman Gil. According to the files (viewed with our own bloodshot eyes) Gil WILL be making an appearance this event with a DONUT OFFER! (woohoo!) It won’t be a discounted donut offer instead it looks as though it will be a bonus donut offer. Similar to the deal that ran last Christmas, offering 25% more donuts with every pack. (so 12 donuts will become 15) Looks as though it’s a one day only special and will ONLY be available on December 25th. So if you have plans to drop some “dough” on those pink frosted donuts, you may just want to wait until Christmas to do so. You’ll get more frosting for your dough!
Next up the deal with the Grumple and special bonus planned. Warning SPOILERS ahead. If you want to be surprised (and see what Santa brings you) don’t click read more…but if you’re like me…and enjoy searching for your Christmas presents before they’re under the tree click read more to find out what Santa’s bringing! Not sure where you are in the Halloween Event? Stressing out you’re not gonna make it? Well no worries. It seems as long as you are averaging 300 daily, you should be on target for all the prizes and goodies. But I know you are STILL gonna worry…so here is a little calendar to help you out. Stay ahead and at the end, you will be able to hit those bonus rounds to have a chance of FREE DONUTS!!!
There is a reported issue ongoing with the bonus levels. Seeherefor more info.
(I set it to go until the 6th due to you never know what time they will actually shut it all down on the 7th. Better to play it safe.)
Now people wonder why they should continue beyond the 10,000 Goo. Two words…FREE DONUTS!!The Spooktacular Bonus. It works the same way as the XP bonus levels in that once you hit that extra 2000 Goo, you can pick from 3 boxes containing 1-3 donuts. Keep some extra cash for this. In case you don’t get 3 right away, you can spend $50,000 on each extra box and keep trying until you get 3 donuts. Pretty good deal to me. 🙂
You will also notice a new icon on your task book menu. A Halloween Candy. This is just there to show you are now collecting extra Goo beyond that 2000.
