Over the past 600+ episodes, The Simpsons has taken us on an amazing mathematical journey involving fractions, probability, Fermat’s last theorem, and hundreds of other aspects from the wonderful world off mathematics.
And what better way to start your week, then by discussing math Monday morning?
Recently we’ve had a lot of talk about Shelbyville and the Lemon of Troy episode. So this week, we’re going to look at a numeric system that pops up in that episode, Roman numerals.
What does the fox say? Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding! Wa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pow! Hatee-hatee-hatee-ho! Lol…did I get it stuck in your head yet? 😛 Thought I was gonna talk about foxes didn’t yah? Close.
So Halloween is almost upon us. The mist will be clearing soon. So to celebrate, I will be making a HOWL-OOOH-WEEN 2D for your enjoyment. This one has actually been sitting in my to do list for a while (a favor to another Fuzzball), but I wanted to save it for the last of the season.
Ever wonder just exactly where that Steampunk/ Victorian UFO came from. What exactly it has to do with Halloween and the Simpsons? Well I am here with another edition of, “Where Did THAT Come From” (oooh lookie at me making new titles and all.)
In one of my last posts, Barbsinbox asked for pics of the tombstones from the opening screen. Although I am nowhere near as savvy with pics like the other amazing authors on Team Awesome Sauce aka TSTO Addicts, I figured I’d try.
So here’s the tombstones you see on the opening screen a la older Treehouse of Horror Specials…
I tried to zoom in on each tombstone to make them easier to read. If you click on the next picture, it’ll open bigger on your browser.
If you still can’t read them, here’s what they say in no particular order:
FAT IN THE HAT QUESTS
Some of you may know that this is one of the segments from the TOH Episode premiering tonight. Obviously EA floated the idea of doing these and then shot them down.
With the success of freemium gaming on “smart” phones and tablets added to the profit margin for EA, it may be very true that console gaming may start playing canasta with Atari and the NES.
LAST YEAR’S HALLOWEEN CANDY
A poke at the game currency from Halloween 2012. Seems EA thought they had a MORE GOO idea.
LIFE IN HELL
Matt Groening’s original comic strip pre-Simpsons. If you’ve never seen it, check it out. Very cool stuff and who doesn’t love a one eared Bunny?
Gotta love any political satire from the Simpsons writers. To keep from upsetting any one over politics, I suggest searching this term on your engine of choice and hopefully laughing at the appropriateness of this statement considering when the update was released.
Well, hope everyone is enjoying the heck out of the event. Y’all stay classy, ghostbust the Jeebus out of all the towns and keep tapa-tapa-tapping away. Wookiee out!
Not sure where you are in the Halloween Event? Stressing out you’re not gonna make it? Well no worries. It seems as long as you are averaging 300 daily, you should be on target for all the prizes and goodies. But I know you are STILL gonna worry…so here is a little calendar to help you out. Stay ahead and at the end, you will be able to hit those bonus rounds to have a chance of FREE DONUTS!!!
There is a reported issue ongoing with the bonus levels. Seeherefor more info.
(I set it to go until the 6th due to you never know what time they will actually shut it all down on the 7th. Better to play it safe.)
Now people wonder why they should continue beyond the 10,000 Goo. Two words…FREE DONUTS!!The Spooktacular Bonus. It works the same way as the XP bonus levels in that once you hit that extra 2000 Goo, you can pick from 3 boxes containing 1-3 donuts. Keep some extra cash for this. In case you don’t get 3 right away, you can spend $50,000 on each extra box and keep trying until you get 3 donuts. Pretty good deal to me. 🙂
You will also notice a new icon on your task book menu. A Halloween Candy. This is just there to show you are now collecting extra Goo beyond that 2000.
