Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
So this morning I want to talk to you about something that’s VERY different with this update, something in your favor! I want to talk to you about the Easter Boxes!
I know what many of you are thinking…it’s the holiday wheel just in box form! But guess what? It’s not! What if I told you, as long as you play the game and collect eggs you are guaranteed to collect ALL of the prizes, with out spending a single donut on eggs?
Impossible? Nope. I’m telling you EA listened to YOU (to ALL of us) with this update! They heard your complaints during the wheel events about the odds, and they did something about it!
Let’s take a look at how the odds come into play with these new prize boxes….
So with this update EA has broken everyone up into two groups of Tappers. You can either be in the Blue Egg Group or the Pink Egg Group. Whichever group you’re in will impact your odds in the Pink and Blue Boxes ONLY, the Gold Boxes have the same odds for both groups. So just what are these odds? Let’s take a look:
Pink Easter Box:

Now you’re sitting there saying “But you said I was guaranteed to win EVERYTHING, those odds look like I’m screwed…again!”
Have no fear…the top 2 “big” prizes in each box have “guaranteed to be awarded by try #” built into it. What does that mean? Well basically it means at a certain # of tries if you haven’t unlocked it yet it’s guaranteed to unlock for you! Note: There are also minimum number of tries before it unlocks too. Meaning you won’t be awarded the prizes before a certain number of tries.
Here’s that break down and it’s the same no matter which egg group you’re in:

So what this means is…if on attempt 79 in the Pink Easter Box you still haven’t earned the Block-O-Store and Chirpy & Bart Jr you are GUARANTEED to unlock Chirpy & Bart Jr on your next try. THEN you will also unlock the Block-O-Store on the very next attempt after unlocking Chirpy & Bart Jr. Pretty sweet right?
So now the million dollar question….how do you know which group you’re in? It’s actually pretty simple…the game tells you. There are a few key things to look for in your game to determine what group you are in. (remember this won’t come into play until you’ve unlocked the Easter goodies…after the 24hr Whacking Day quests)
First indicator…look to see what color egg you are awarded when you complete Tasks. If you’re awarded 250 Pink Eggs you’re in the Pink Group, if you’re awarded 250 Blue Eggs you’re in the Blue Group. Also, the color of the eggs awarded for completing character tasks will indicate this.
The next indicator…check how your eggs are shown in the bottom left of your main Springfield. If it goes Blue, Pink, Gold you’re in the Blue Group, like this:
If it goes Pink, Blue, Gold you’re in the Pink Group, like this:
The final indicator…check to see how your Easter Boxes are shown. If it’s Blue, Pink, Gold like this:
You’re in the Blue Group. If it goes Pink, Blue, Gold like this:
You’re in the Pink Group.
Simple enough right? All this grouping means is it’s easier for you to unlock the prizes in the box for the color group you’re in. But remember you’re guaranteed to unlock all of the prizes, no matter what group you’re in.
Let’s move on to the Gold Easter Box odds. Keep in mind these odds are the SAME for Tappers in the Pink Group AND Blue Group. The Golden Easter Box contains the rare, and sought after, Easter content, so these odds are a little tougher than the Pink or Blue boxes. Here’s how it breaks down:

Now you might be asking…”Am I guaranteed to win all of this stuff too?!” and the answer is YES. Just like the other boxes, the sought after prizes have min and max unlock attempt numbers. Here’s the breakdown on those:

As you can see most of the items are pretty easy to obtain, as you’ll unlock them with minimal attempts! Of course Shary Bobbins (my personal favorite!) will be the hardest to unlock, but would you expect anything less?

So does it matter whether or not we vandalize or collect eggs for our neighbors when we visit them? If I remember right, they get FP’s for all clicks? Or did I dream that LOL. I’d rather get the eggs, but if the neighbor still needs to be vandalized, I could split what I do for each visit.
Don’t vandalize…you won’t earn eggs. Check out this post i did this afternoon BEFORE visiting neighbors. There are some things you should avoid tapping 🙂

This update has completely blown me away. As long as it goes off without any glitches, I’m going to call this my new favorite update (it used to be Halloween 2013).
So let me get this straight…if I’m in the blue group (which I am), my odds on the pink boxes are better, but I’m going to get more tries on the blue box? Another win-win? Thank you EA! (the first win-win was the fences earning us donuts).
I’m thrilled that EA is actually listening to the players and giving us what we want. When they do that, we are more willing to cough up the money for donuts, and everybody wins. This update is definitely the epitome of EA answering our pleas…luck-based games that always guarantee a win.

YAY!!! So excited. I paid donuts to speed up the prepare for whacking day because I couldn’t wait. I can definitely see myself just sitting on my kindle fire for hours tapping bunnies!! Lol.
Apu in the middle of his level 39 hospital visit for 2 days means donuts get spent. Kwik-E-Mart Corp. refuses to cover it.

Im a little confused. Is it 80 boxes all togeather and your guaranteed or 80 of each because 80 seems unlikely but x3 seems impossible.
At the 80-81 point, if you haven’t already earned the prizes, it will automatically give you the prizes. Lots of eggs but the good news is you can win them much, much earlier via chance.
Is it 80 per color? Sorry if im a little slow.
The guarantee is at 80 per color. You earn the golden eggs through the other two. No worries, ALissa and Bunny have been schooling my slowness since the event started.
Here’s something else I think I’ve noticed… can y’all confirm? In my town where I’ve maxed out FP, when I click on friends houses I get one pink AND one blue egg. In my town where I haven’t maxed out (it was too lower level, so I’m still working towards stampy), I only get one egg, pink or blue.
Nope, not true. I don’t have any friends open in the town I was getting two eggs in, and I didn’t pic it. But I definitely did. Weird….
Best way to know where you stand on the egg per tap level is in your main neighbor screen, tap on the italic “i” next to the blue, pink, and gold egg count that you have in the lower left corner. It will tell you …”You will get # Eggs on each Action for your next ### Friend Action.”
It would help If I read more carefully the post. Thanks for your patience! Now if only I could figure out what the bunnies in my town are doing there behind the post office; seriously, every time I go in 5 or six pop out from there. It’s not like there’s a lot of land back there. Is this like the days of smoking behind the gym in school? (Don’t start smoking kids… quitting is horrific 😉 )

The eggs that pop out will vary. It depends on tap wise where you are on neighbors visits. (In 5, 3, 2, or 1 per tap) You will mostly get the egg you are dominant in. But the count total of eggs should stay same. FP max only effects $$$ & XP.
I am currently tapping away in my B game that has max FP. I am down to the “1 egg per tap” level on them and am only getting one egg popping out. I am a Blue…I am getting only 1 blue egg per tap.
Happy Easter Tapping! I am in total tappiness! What a fantastic update. I’m on level 39 and this is so great, so much going on! Find it a bit frustrating reading about people who are rushing through everything then before you know it they’ll be posting wondering when the next update is. I too am aiming to earn as many prizes as possible but I am loving having new quests and loving “just playing the game” after all that’s surely what is all about but then that’s just my opinion. As always great work guys, love this site. X ♥

Sorry If I seem a bit confused here. But, if I’m in the pink group, im gauranteed all the blue group prizes? I see that I’m being awarded far more pink eggs than blue. So how am I guaranteed all of the blue prizes? I apologize if I’m not seeing an obvious answer here, but I’ve read the guides several times and it seems to me that if youre in one group, you’re pretty much exclused from the other groups prizes. Someone please help clear this up for me.
If you are in the pink group, your odds in the blue boxes are higher. Mainly because you will automatically earn more pink eggs from tapping. No guarantees but your odds are much better. Your pink box will be lower odds but since you’ll have more of those eggs, it’s not a big deal. Good luck!

Woo hoo! I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get Johnny fiesta’s
Hmmm, still unsure how I’m supposed to get EVERYTHING out of pink, blue and gold boxes. I’m pink and after the first task, zapping bunnies and visiting friends (where after a few clicks I was only getting pink eggs) I ended up with 543 pink, 104 blue and 0 gold. Not looking likely to ever get 500 blue eggs x amount of times to get all the prizes. Oh…and I guess you can’t have a basket without donuts huh?
I’ve earned two baskets from bopping bunnies on the head. The guarantees come from hitting those 80-81 marks in the boxes. Good news is you can earn them earlier if your lucky. I certainly hope everyone earns all the prizes without having to cough up sprinklies. I’m collecting eggs the freemium way like all the tappers out of solidarity. Fingers crossed for all of us.

I got a little over eager for the Easter content yesterday and rushed the first quest. Tricksy EA’s minimum number of tries for the prize boxes had me worried about the odds, what with all the fences I was getting.
That’s great, to know that no matter how long I keep tapping, I’m gonna be able to enjoy the prizes…. so play and eventually you’ll win it’s great and I’m nearly there, one hour to go before I can chase some bunnies!! I’m so excited to win the prizes!!!

Doh! I thought you won all 5 items in the box at once. I didn’t realize you’ll only get 1 of those 5 for every 500 eggs. If I’m collecting 510 eggs a day from neighbour’s, that’s only 26 boxes there. Need to really get all those bunnies in my town.
We got some maths stuff coming to break out this all down in a lil more detail. 😉

Yup, exactly why! It’s nice because you’ll earn the blue prizes faster (since you’re blue) and by having most of the gold eggs in the pink box you don’t have to worry about going to the blue box to get more golden eggs (and end up with unnecessary stuff) 🙂
Not sure if those odds are better than the numbers suggest or if I’m just lucky(full disclosure: I’m never lucky!) but I spent 150 donuts to get eggs and I have every unique item from all boxes except for Father Sean and Shary Bobbins already! This game makes me realize how impatient I am!
lol the odds are actually pretty good that you’ll unlock it all before the magic 81 number. (at least in my experience) But i do think it’s pretty random, just like the wheel. Some people cleared it quick others were stuck until the very end!
I just need father sean and I’m done 336 donuts is all it cost me.
For now… hopefully I get father sean soon.

Wait. If you visit neighbors before your unlocked on Easter you can’t get eggs from them. (fyi…you can only zap bunnies in your town. You collect eggs in theirs)

I dont know if this was answered yet but if you are a blue earner can you still get pink eggs on your own? OR can you only get them from neighbors? I’m still waiting for the 24 hour task to be over so I’m a little confused. love this site by the way spend more time on here than the actual game.
You’ll still earn either color egg from zapping Bunnies or from tapping on your neighbors buildings, the color you are has more to do with what color eggs you’ll earn from tasks/the main questline and which box will be slightly easier for you. 🙂

Thanks for this Alissa, really helpful. Has anyone crunched the numbers yet to work out how many eggs/friend visits per day it would take to have enough attempts at opening boxes to be guaranteed all the prizes (assuming the odds are really against you!)?
Also, is the main quest/storyline detailed anywhere on this site? I’ve used Donuts to accelerate the story but it now seems to have stopped and branched off into quests for other characters, e.g. 1+1=1 for Ralph. It would be useful to know whether my impatience is just wasting precious Donuts!

As far as the walkthrough…yes it branches off in various places. We haven’t posted the Turbo Tappin’ for it yet. It’s done, but I wanted to get these odds out to everyone first this morning. Turbo Tappin’ will be the next post up…and I’ll post it as soon as I’m through pushing comments 🙂

EA: No way, no way. Tried it once, doesn’t work. You got four guys all fighting over who’s gonna be Mr. Gold, but they don’t know each other, so nobody wants to back down. No way. I pick. You’re Mr. Pink. Be thankful you’re not Mr. Blue.

Epic use of A reservoir dogs reference. Now I wish I was a Pink Lady like some people. Alas… I’m a Blue’s Clue.
I’m in the pink group. So how does the egg baskets work? I have both colored baskets and game crashed a few times when I try to place the second basket. Also what’s the chocolate bunnies do in the game?
So the way the baskets work is they’re egg swaps. We’ll have a full post on this later, BUT if your neighbor has baskets you can drop 100 of whatever color egg you don’t want in the basket (as many times as you want until the basket is full) and get 50 eggs of the other color egg back in return. Not egg-actly (haha) an even exchange but helpful if you have an over abundance of 1 color and already have all of those prizes. But the baskets do disappear after you’ve used all of the swaps 🙂
As far as chocolate Bunnies go…they’re just decoration.
Honestly wish I had read this before I tried a trade. I traded in 100 pink eggs for blue eggs (I’m in the blue group), and when I realized my mistake, I traded the blue eggs back for pink eggs.
