Hey there Hoppereenos… The New Tie-In Update for this Sundays Episode: The Yellow Badge of Cowardge is hitting all of our games. For those of you hanging on to Easter, looks as though you will be kicked out. Sorry, it did technically end on early Tuesday morning.
Anywho, the issues at hand. A new Friend Point Level was introduced, but for some reason many are just not getting any FP at all. No matter who, where, or how they tap.
My A game is still on Level 7 and getting them just fine. It is my B game that is impacted by this. It is on the new Level 8. I tried multiple combinations of tapping…still nothing. So I did what I usually tell our readers here to do, I contacted EA. I think I may have been one of the first in line as the issue had not been reported in the channels. So on I went to speak with all I could on the matter.
As the issue was not known or expected until the Update released the game, it is now to us the players to make our voices heard. You can still contact EA via chat and/or email, but they will most likely send you to the forums anyway. Many readers here have already joined a thread, I suggest you do too. The more complaints…the higher the priority. So…time to storm the forum so to speak. LOL.

As you can see, the link is also for those of you (me included) still experiencing the horrible lag in one or more of your games. Just add your information to the forum feed and hopefully we will see a Hotfix Update soon to resolve it.
Hang in there in the meantime and just remember, we are ALWAYS here to help all we can. I will keep on top of them myself and keep bugging them till the issue is resolved too.

Thanks so much everyone for continuing to respond to the thread. It is now on “fire”. Essentially it has now been tagged with a flame meaning it is a “hot issue”. This will help to bring focus even faster to it. So keep adding your information to the list. Tell them your issue (Lag/FP/or both) and the device(s) you play on.

Yep. No friend points on iPad Air and iPhone . Reported it to ea. Hope it won’t take long! I was forced to update this afternoon. They really should not force it until they know all is well.
That’s funny, I have an iPad Air 128GB and I just started getting FP, did you get the little update when you started your game about 20 minutes ago?
If not close the game from running In the background and start it fresh, it should be working now too.
I’ve just lost all of my Springfield !! I was on level 40 and going for the part 2 of Mulhouse’s quest and now it just keep playing the first video and I have nothing ! I am totally freaking out ! Since the update I get a lot of lags…
No worries. It happens sometimes when you get out of your game too fast before it can sync. Check to make sure when the game is loading it actually shows you logged in in the lower left corner and not anonymous. If it is anon, click to log in. Otherwise there are a few steps you can follow.

I was worried about the update after reading all these post but I have not had trouble getting FP and it only lags occasionally.
I just popped on over there myself. There’s 126 or so people that have clicked ‘me too’ – my fayefield has terrible lag, the characters remind me of the little ones on ‘wreck it Ralph’ all jumpy and jittery! As for FP I am collecting mine but it’s not showing up per collection, when I click on the little floating ‘FP’ it floats up to the bar but doesn’t show, then after I click another 4 or 5 then it comes up showing all of the ones that I have collected. so I’m not actually getting the missing FP problems, it’s just like the lag is causing a delay there.

to be fair, maybe this is a response to everyone asking for more free donuts. “working on it” = “you got 24 hours to scoop as many as you can” ha
FWIW my lag feels about the same as when I’m on mobile data with my phone, sometimes (on 2 year old GNex). Maybe their servers/load balancers are swamped with everyone needing to remove old content, adding new, and the hotfix whatever. Didn’t it happen after xmas event too?

It depends on where you were before the update. You have to be maxed out before. They are random to begin with so not all will get them.

Not receiving FP, and ever since updating my Springfield is slow, and glitches
Completed the milhouse quest and I didn’t even get the free skin and I’m level 40 and completed everything
There are 5 parts to the quest line. The skin comes after. Part 2. He has to Order Unnecessary Fitness Gadgets. Then you will see the pop up for the Skin.

The same thing with me. I have a case number and am waiting to hear back from them. I hope I still have friends when this is resolved. IF it ever is. I play on iPad Air. I also get kicked out of my phone if I try it on there. I’m so bummed…. 🙁

I understand it’s to do with codes And programming And the fact that I don’t understand all that stuff so I’m not gonna make assumptions….. but… lol…. is it only me that’s thinking ‘why not use the code that worked in the past… if it aint broke, don’t fix it’ why not replicate the codes from updates that didn’t have these issues!! Hope it’s fixed for us all soon!!
Lol. I get what you mean. I wish it was a lil less glitchy right now too.
In fact I didn’t even even get a pop up notification about the new Lisa if I didn’t notice the FP bar wasn’t full anymore.
I didn’t get a pop up either about the new item. I think its within the entire glitch issue that it didnt appear. It is on Level 8 but still thinks only level 7 is active in the game.
It looks like it got 13 friend points when I started and can’t get anymore either so I’m gonna add my complaint to EA.
The Live Chat Advisor just told me the FP thing is a “temporary issue”. I guess this makes me feel better. :~\

One of my friends has just passed from lvl 7 to lvl 8 and is still getting points, so it seems like it’s only people who were already at the top!
No I take it back, she got past lvl 7 and then stalled out. So no one’s getting anything at lvl 8.
Yah, my level 7 is just fine. It is anyone at 8 from update. Essentially those that were maxed out. It just didn’t translate. It still thinks a lot of us are maxed. So no FP, but still a random donut here or there. LOL

That is the good part…still getting those. Lol.
And weirdly the count is still going down – as I move through towns it tells me 5FP for my next actions, 4FP, etc. But I am stuck on 4/5000! So odd.
It is supposed to go down, but you won’t get any FP. It is points as usual…without the FP. Lol. Irony.

While I won’t be able to visit my friends until tomorrow morning, I noticed that I started at 3/5000 (1 FP for the next 171 actions), even though the update wasn’t applied until after my visits.
Update or not, your time clock will still effect the payouts. If you have not rolled the 24 hours, it won’t reset until that hits. 😉

What I would love to know is why these updates are not tested before they’re released. If this is as widespread an issue as it appears, it would have shown up in testing. For them to say the issue was not expected beggars belief. Do they not have a spare iPad/Samsung phone/etc. hanging around the office to try the update before releasing it?
Perhaps a fund should be started to send EA developers on a course for Product Testing 101?
They are tested. The problem is there’s no true way to duplicate the millions of Tappers hitting the server at once when they test it. They will go in and play the updates etc prior to releasing them to ensure they’re working properly. But a lot of these glitches etc aren’t discovered until tons of Tappers hit the server.
You need to understand that the Updates ARE tested. How each device will translate them when they hit is an entirely different beast. Things like this look like business as usual in the code, but then as it releases…some of that code can get “stuck” on the way out so to speak. Or something may “attach” itself to a code that is invisible until release. EVERY game out there deals with this. You honestly do not know until you release. All programmers and coders alike wish there was a way to catch EVERYTHING before it goes out. It sadly is impossible to know what the codes do and how they will “talk” to each other once live.
There is sooo much more that goes into it. It is not simple. Would take ages to explain the ins and outs. Just know that EA is not the only ones out there that goes through this. EVERY game house does. It is just the beast of the computer code. Lol. 🙂
I had a chat with an EA advisor. And the advisor told me he would informate the developers about this bug. So we definetly will get a fix soon.
Yah, my phone call just ended that I have been on for a while now. Got lots of info and a lot is on its way. Just keep adding names to the list regardless. It helps, trust me. They are starting to rely on the forums a lot now.

And I did open a ticket with them and tried to do the online chat, it said the waiting time was <5 minutes, but it was trying to connect for over 20 minutes. So the forum is our best bet I think. 🙂

With so many people having the same problems, starting a thread in the forum seemed better than having 100’s or more people ringing them or trying to get on to the chat. And like you said elsewhere the more people that comment to sooner we’ll get an update.
And even though I’m not getting FP, there is a bright side, I’ve received 3 donuts from tapping today! 🙂
