Looks like we just got ourselves an in-game update on our favorite Tapping Devices! Which, shouldn’t be a surprise to you if you checked out our Open Thread/Reminders post last night…
LEVEL 41 has Arrived! (and hey we’re here for this 1 😉 )
More details as we work through them ourselves….but for now Moe gets this going in your Springfield!
If the Level Up! Message wasn’t a clue for you, this Level is focused around Dr. Hibbert….
After some dialogue between Moe and Dr. Hibbert you’ll be prompted to build the Vulgari Jewelry Store, it costs $800,000 and is a 24hr build.
As always we’ll post more details below the fold for those who don’t want more details until they play the level…so WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!
Looks like we got ourselves TWO new characters in the game and some new vehicles!

Same problem as everyone else… can’t connect to server on android. Oddly I can get into my other town on iphone, but if I try to log out of that account, it says cannot connect to Origin server at this time.

Sorry you feel that way. I understand the frustration. I know the server is up and down right now due to the update that hit Google Play. Some are in…some aren’t. You can try again in a lil bit to see if Origin is back to normal. But I understand your not wanting to deal with issues anymore. I have been through it for months now. It just started to work right for the first time since January in my GS4 after the update, then the server over load. So I was able to see my normal game for a lil bit. Lol. 😉
It’s a bit insane that they KEEP having these problems. We all know how much money they’re making on this game… can get not just get some more people working on this for a while?! lol
This has nothing to do with money or workers. More so MILLIONS of people all trying to access server all at once to get an update. Same as when everyone in your neighborhood is on WiFi all at once during “peak” hours. It cause the speeds to slow WAY down for everyone. Lol. Just hang in there.

The game is acting really,screwy tonight, first I couldn’t log in, and now that I’m in, my icon is wrong and it won’t let me log out and I’m again to fix the problem,
It keeps saying “the Origin Network can’t be reached at this time”, but if it can’t be reached then how is it letting me into my town.
This is the firs time I’ve had this problem, have you ever had it before?
What can I do to fix it?

Because as it is, I can play, but no friend icons, or mine show up and I can’t add new friends till I can log back in again the proper way..

Why are some updates in game and others you have to go and download?
Depends on the amount of code they need to send through. If they are adding a lot to or taking a lot from the game…it has to come through the markets that can handle the large file. The in game ones…are more just something already embedded in the game and have a set date to release. Or something simple that can just push on through the game.

Oh snap – naturally this happens the day after I splurge on the Springfield Wax Museum and some land because I reached the magic number of $700K, lol. Oh well, at least I still have Cool Lisa and Squidport questlines while I wait.
Scratch that, it seems I’m playing the Connecting to Server questline again – I could’ve sworn I’ve done that before, it just hasn’t popped up nearly as often as it has tonight. Now that I see others have the same exact questline as myself, perhaps I’ll wait some more and see if it self-completes later tonight…or tomorrow…besides I want to keep my phone intact as I don’t think my insurance covers intentional destruction. This questline sure is popular… :]
There was a Google Play update that may have caused an overload on servers. Bart hit just shortly after the Update did. Sad thing is…the update FINALLY fixed a lot of down Android devices…just to go down with server crash. LOL. Oh well. Hang in there. It always comes back up. 😉

Just got to play for the first time today…talk about withdraw! I was letting all my characters roam task free after reading Cybersilly’s post about it. Really helped with the lag. When I signed in to do the update I decided to send everyone on a 60min task while I wait for Moe to finish cleaning up the bar and to test if the fixed the lag. I play on iPad mini, so far so good! Still a little slow, but I do have a lot of stuff. I hope it continues to get better and that I’m not jinxing myself!

I’m a bit confused (don’t get me wrong the Brit isn’t moaning) yesterday I had 82 donuts today after the update I have 382 donuts now I have donut spend notification on and have checked my apple account I haven’t bought any and don’t have anything pending either ! Do you think EA will want them back as I seem to have gained 300 donuts?

No. That should not have happened. You can try some basic troubleshooting to see if it refreshes and they return. Otherwise, you need to get in touch with EA ASAP so they can look into your game to find out where they went.

Question for the addicts….I recently added 20 new friend and have 30. But now every time in bit their land I get 10 or 5 or 4 Fps. Is there a way to get 10fps all the time???
Nope. That is the way the FP collection is set up. You get X mount per each group of neighbors. The post for when the Social Friend Points started is below and explains the breakdown. The FPs won’t reset until you have waited 24hrs.

Dr. Hibbert starts the quest and you build the Vulgari. Bernice appears once its 24 hour build time is done and you complete the building. Good luck on hitting 30. I’m at 20 and it took a little.
When Does Dr. Hibbert Start quest? I haven’t done yet? I been giving him 2 hours jobs no luck yet lol
You first need to make sure you have completed all the Levels before 41. You can check the walkthroughs to see where you are in your game play level. Like for instance, if Miss Hoover from Level 40 isn’t complete.
Moe is the one that actually kicks off the quest for Level 41 so he needs to be free.

So, I’ve been holding out for the price on Sanjay’s house to go down before I build it, and yet, the price didn’t go down after this update. Seriously, do they hate people who have leveled up all the way? What the hell?
Nothing to do with hate, it is the multipliers. Games are supposed to get increasingly harder as they progress. They just added another multiplier…so now 8 in all (post coming soon on this). Hang in there. It is a catch 22. A lot of high level players kept stating they have MILLIONS of in game cash but nothing to spend it on and requesting EA put more items in their game that they can spend that money on. I think this is EA’s way of answering that. Lol. 😉
I Am A Squid….(love that name😆), Bunny’s correct, I’m in that group (see link….NOT an altered game), with many many other players. After a certain point, the in game cash means nothing. I LIKE when things are pricey, but I’m glad items are less expensive for players working their way up the ladder.

I am at level 40 but it did not give me free level 41. Any ideas why?
Check where you are in your game play level. You need to have completed the appropriate tasks and questlines in the prior levels in order to move on. Like Miss Hoovers quest in Level 40.
If you have completed all previous game play levels…then it is a matter of you just making sure your characters needed to trigger the new level are available to start it out. So make sure Moe isn’t busy somewhere too.
The quest line started, the game just took me out of bonus levels and put me back about halfway to level 41 from 40. It seems impossible. On the other hand, it is nice to have a level goal again after so long.
A new level would be awesome if I could actually GET INTO my game!

Nope. Waited 15 minutes this morning for all the new updates to load….then it kicked me right back out of the game from the login page. Finally got an email from ea this morning after 11 days of this mess. Not sure what they’re doing about it.

I would think that, by now, it would not be in bad taste to have someone else voice Troy (I mean someone to sound like Phil), would it? But maybe it has to do with the hoops EA might have to jump through to get the okay from the Hartman estate or something?

Troy Mclure is a copy of actor Doug Mclure, and since Gracie Films owns the rights to Troy since it was created by them there is no reason it shouldn’t be allowed in the game, the only glitch is they would need the OK from Phil Hartmans family to use his voice, and they have released many non voiced charachter I’m the game.
THAT is the issue. The voice. They really want him voiced before release. Sadly. I really want him.
I doubt the voice is an issue – he wouldn’t be voiced anyway because he’s not one of the main six cast members, and only their characters have voices (so far). It’s probably more a sensitivity thing because of Hartman’s death.
He’s been gone over 10 years, how sensitive an issue can it still be after all this time?
I honestly think it’s a Gracie Films issue. They retired the character and I don’t think they want it used in an capacity (voiced or not). That’s my own thought process. Of course I could be completely wrong…and I hope I am.
He’s been gone 16 years, believe it or not. I agree that it’s probably a retired character issue and not a voice issue. McClure’s not voiced by the core 6 and frankly I wouldn’t care if he were voiced.
Sadly, with a show that’s been on the air a quarter-century, there would be have to be a lot of people who have worked on the show who have since passed on. I’m sure Krabappel will be retired now that Marcia Wallace has passed. No need to pull the character though. Maybe Gracie Films thinks it’s in bad taste but I would disagree. It would be a tribute and a reminder to the greatness of Hartman and the characters he voiced.
I mean yea, the Crazy Cat Lady was finally cool to see. And she was allegedly “one of the most requested characters.” But I can’t imagine she’d be ahead of McClure or Hutz. Is there a place to request characters? Or see this list of most requested?

If im not in max xp at level 40, will i get the gift when i max the xp and level up, or i lose the gift because i have not reached the max xp before the update?
The new level resets the bonus max XP. Similar to a new item for FP resets that max level. You will see the difference in the color within the XP bar of pink for bonus vs blue for regular.

I noticed it didn’t reset my XP again this time, though it did reset the amount needed to level up. Maybe they fixed this?
