Showoff Reminder: Terwilligers

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

This weekend we’ll be doing another edition of Springfield Showoff!  Where we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

This week we want to see your favorite designs from the Terwilliger’s Event Overall.  (try not to submit the Opera House or Monsarno again…think things like the Farmer’s Market, Gas and Grub etc)  Are you loving your Farmer’s Market setup?  Thrilled with out you worked the Italian Villa into your Town?  Digging a dessert theme you created with Cactus patches, the 5 Corners and Gas ‘N’ Grub?  Show us just what you’ve done and you’re proud of in your Springfield!

We’ll be putting up the Showoff post, featuring your designs, on Saturday (5/30).  So show us what you’ve done with your Terwilliger’s Stuff!

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure it is there by about 8pm EDT Friday (5/29). Can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Terwilliger Removal Has Arrived!

Looks like the Takedown for the Terwilliger’s Event has finally started to hit.. So what other changes came with this Update for the Removal? Let’s take a peek below. unlock_mutantclone01

So far this has only hit the iOS Market. Will update when we see it hit Google/Android Market too.

UPDATE: It is now in Google Play/Android Market

Good News and Bad News…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Popping in with a bit of good news for many of you…but bad news for some of you.  The Terwilliger Takedown Update has FINALLY hit the files.

IT’S NOT IN THE APP STORE YET.  So currently there’s nothing to download.  BUT it has hit the server, which means at some point today (usually between 12pm-2pm EDT) we’ll see it hit our App Stores.

This will be a welcome sign for many of you who just want it to be over!  However, I know there are some of you who are still trying to earn those extra Bonuts (Bonus Donuts) and crafting materials…and for those of you who are trying to do that you still can!

If you’re looking to extend this event beyond the app store update, you can.  Just delay downloading the update.  First, make sure your auto updates are turned off for TSTO.  Otherwise it may automatically download and throw you out whether you want it to or not.  So if you want to extend it turn off the auto update for TSTO.

Then just continue to play as normal…you’ll usually get at least another 24-48hrs out of it before the game forces you to update (you’ll see a popup telling you to download the newest version to continue playing).  So if you want to keep playing, do nothing.

For those of you who want Terwilligers to be over…simply keep checking your App stores for the update.  Once it hits we’ll have a post up here for it as well.

Once again…there currently is nothing to download in the App Store.  This is just a note that the removal is coming and should hit today.  So don’t panic if you don’t see it in your App Store right now, because it’s not there. 

We’ll be back when it actually hits the stores with any changes that have occurred.

Also, just a note.  I’m going to be away this afternoon (probably right around when the update hits).  I’ll be in NYC going to a Yankee game with my Dad (you’re never to old to go to a ballgame with your dad!).  However, Bunny will be here covering the update if I’m gone by the time it hits.  So hope you all get everything you want out of Terwilligers and here’s hoping we get a few days of downtime to redesign our Springfields!

Tapped Out Event Walkthroughs: Terwilligers

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well Terwilligers is still lingering in our towns.  Are you still working on stuff?  Or are you like me and just going about your regular TSTO business?  (finally catching up on questlines!)

So even though the event is still lingering we thought now would be a fun time to take a look back at all the dialogue and jokes of the main questlines that popped up during Terwilligers (we’ll cover premium and side quests in another post…otherwise this would be the post that never ended!).  Especially since many of you have been requesting this over the last few days! So if you missed any of the dialogue during the 3 Acts here’s your chance to catch it all!

It all starts with Cecil and his arrival in Springfield….can you remember back that far?  So here we go with Cecil, The Simpsons and the angry townspeople of Springfield…

The Terwilliger Event is in full swing and in the Second Act Sideshow Bob’s Mutant Clones have taken over Springfield!  Act Two was filled with Sideshow Bob Clones, Romance, Minimum Security Prisons and Sideshow Bob himself! Now what would he be without his partner in crime, his Wife? What about his Offspring in Training, his Son? VENDETTA!!

The Curtain Is FINALLY Closing On Terwilligers- Event Ends TOMORROW

Update 8:30am EDT 5/26: Yup, the event is still in our towns.  Looks like my note indicated below about the app store removal is what will be required to officially remove it from our towns. I expect an update to hit sometime between 12pm-2pm (EDT),as that’s when they usually hit.  For now you have a couple extra hours of Terwilligers….

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, we’ve finally reached the end of the Terwilliger’s Event!  And I know some of you will be thrilled to go back to normal and others will be wishing for one more day.

I know there’s a lot of questions about WHEN the Event actually ends (since the Farming License Shows longer on it’s counter than others)…here’s my take: It ends TOMORROW at 0800GMT (4am EDT)

I’d rather see everyone play it safe then end up sorry they missed out.  So assume EVERYTHING ends tomorrow. Use up all of your crafting resources for what you want TODAY.  Buy those premium items you want TODAY.  Finish collecting those Act 3 prizes TODAY.

Don’t chance it until tomorrow.  Finish everything you can TODAY, anything extra will be a bonus.

Note: Terwilligers will require an App Store update to completely remove from our games.  Not 100% sure if this means you can artificially extend the event by delaying downloading the update.  In the past it has, but this event is a little different.  There’s timers built in associated with crafting and the prizes…so it’s up to you if you want to take that chance…personally I wouldn’t.

So let’s take a look at everything that ends tomorrow and what you’ll need to grab if you want it before it’s gone from the store…

A Moment For Memorial Day

Bouncing by with a few quick words on today. In the USA it is Memorial Day. A day when Americans remember those who fought for our country and freedom that are no longer with us. A time to mourn the loss of those no longer with us, but to also appreciate all that have done for us to protect our freedoms. Tapped_Out_American_Flag

Addicts Remember Memorial Day

This day is not so easy for me as I am sure not for others as well. I have lost so many in the past few years. I actually lost my close friend suddenly last Memorial Day and it made it quite a struggle for the weeks that followed. But with the two amazing friends I have made within my Addicts Team as well as the strength from all of YOU, Our Amazing Addicts Community, I continue to count my daily blessings and know that no matter what I am never alone.

Take a few moments today to reflect where you have come from, those journeys you made in life, those that may not be with you… then look forward. Appreciate those still there in your life. Family, Friends, even those silly online Friends you have come to know and chat with. Embrace the joy and laughter life has to bring. In a world full of sadness, we all can use an extra smile. 🙂
