Just a quick note to let you know the first community prize has now unlocked! So log into your Springfield to collect your free donuts!

I got notice that we made the community prize of 10 donuts earlier today. It looked like it added them, and I’m fairly sure I got them on the date of the initial unlock too. Score!
Haha me too! I’ve gained 33 doughnuts in the past week… 13 from 04/07 and 2 x 10 from the community price 🙂 🙂
Yay, EA IS loaded with dummies yet are making killer coin off fools. They found out the solution to the community earning the prizes so fast is to put some astronomical number until the day before they want us to reach it, and then lower the number to a reachable amount. They will do this throughout the prizes instead of understanding how the game they deliver will actually work. In the past the community prizes were earned too early and players quit before the end of the game and left others unable to achieve goals. They fix this by making artificial goals. No one should buy balls until they lower the number, and then buy the hell out of them. We can get the next prize in minutes instead of days and then we can wait a few days before the reduce the next prize, which again will default to 110m.
Spoke to a lovely rep named Carrie this morning and she gave me the 10 donuts. Now the patch has come through and I’ve received ANOTHER 10. Wow! (Though I do feel a tad guilty for receiving 20 bonuts…..do I need to contact EA?)
We all did though, even people who got it initially got the patch and 10 more!!! Enjoy them!

The second round of free donuts gave me enough to purchase Bart and Furious D. Makes me less annoyed with the continued glitch with friend taps and daily tap ball win not paying out as they should.

So, I just got a second set of 10 donuts. Great can get Bart now. But I’m worried EA will take them back. :/ seeing as I was never missing my first set
It seems like the patch/update came through and the ten donuts are back. Although I did have to go to Krustyland and back, because the event icons didn’t work, and that activated the you’ve won blahblah community prize or whatever it said.
Did not get the 10 donuts back yet… Plus tennis Marge still missing. EA support told me I’ll get her back in at most 24 hours, almost 12 already passed…
On a more optimistic note – did they adjust the probability of “catching” a ball? Today with my son we have thrown the same ball 8 times in each other’s cities, before it disappeared. With the original 20% chance of catching it this would be like one to 400,000, very improbable indeed.
Yes the % is higher now.
But as far as the donuts and tennis marge. The patch should have hit today…is it any better now?
I just received the “community prize earned” pop-up again and actually got my donuts this time! Woo hoo!

I reckon this is on topic because it’s about balls. Bouncing balls. Other people’s bouncing balls.
Maybe I’m just extremely lucky but so far I’ve seen and grabbed 4 bouncing balls that other people dropped, every one of them that I tapped gave me a ball in storage. I only mention it cos I saw that there was a 20% chance of getting a ball, I’m hitting 100% and it’s really not like me to be lucky.
Sorry, if this has been said a gazillion times, I’m tired and don’t have the energy to trawl through all the posts, feel free to ignore me or to laugh and point.

Are we all aware that, at this rate, we will not even unlock the second community prize before the event is over? The counter jumps about 25-30 a second. At that rate it will take ~41 days to reach the absurd number that EA pulled out of thin air. What are they thinking?

Just play. Have fun. There has NEVER EVER been a single time with Commumity Prizes that EA didn’t “help” us get them. Stop stressing on something that doesn’t need to be stressed on. Just ask any seasoned player… oh hey… aren’t the Addicts seasoned Players? 😉
EA need to do a LOT of cheating then… so far I’ve thrown 20 balls in others’ people’s towns and only gotten 2 back… 2!!! lol
I’ve been throwing at LEAST 5-10 balls in neighbour’s towns each day and have yet to see a single ball come my way! not that i care THAT much, but…y’know, it’d be nice!
It is hard as Amateur bucks are difficult to come by. Better now the cost has dropped to only 40, but still hard for struggling players to part with them. As in the past Community Prizes… they are usually sparked by Premium Players. Those of us that can afford to toss around a few extra. For each one you toss out… the person catching it will NOT get one in return. So if you drop 5, only 2-3 might actually get one out of it to return. It is a difficult thing for many. Add into that you have NO idea who tossed it to you, so … tell me… how on earth do they determine WHO of those 100 friends to give it back to? Just some food for thought. 🙂
I’ve been passed when, very occasionally, I’ll actually get an alert that a particular neighbor has dropped a ball in my town. I usually try to immediately reciprocate, but, you’re right – they may not get a notification and know that I was the one who dropped it off or, worse yet, may not even get it! But at least my conscience is clear. 😉
I have seen at least one ball in either one or the other of my towns each day but not that many. Now something I started doing is I tap it and it says “ball collected.” I promptly tap the ball again and I get the + 1 ball. So far in the beginning i would tap the ball and never get a + 1 ball, once i started tapping it right away again, I have gotten the +1 every time since. Not sure if this is supposed to happen or not now but thought I’d share to see if it works for anyone else as if so it may help with community prizes.

C’mon people. Quit whining about what the totals for community prizes will be. IF you didn’t get your earned bonuts, then by all means complain… But even if Tapped Out keeps every single one of the community prizes from being unlocked, you’ll all be fine. They have the buildings, so they’ll just find another way to release them and we’ll all still ignore our families when we get sucked up into playing this game.
You all sound so petty when you complain “we’ll never unlock Springfield Arms.. waaaaaaaaaaaa. no one loves me. waaaaaaaa” calm down. If not for yourselves, do it for Wookie, Bunny, and the others who have to read all your comments

I do not mind this glitch, for once it has played in my favour (yes that is the correct way to spell that word).
I had 90 doughnuts and as soon as I got the 10 free ones I bought Furious D and Jockey Bart for 100 doughnuts. I still have 90 doughnuts left…
Somehow I got that combo for those 10 free doughnuts, it has been several days now and no correction so I will not be informing EA on this one 🙂
I regret paying 500 for the first ball now (to complete the quest). I bought another ball when it dropped to 40, but that’s it for me – I’m not going to bother buying any more. It is waaayyy too difficult to get amateur bucks (like 100-200 per day?!) and all of the stadium items are very expensive. I at least want to buy 2 x lights and 4 x bleachers with some bucks left over to buy as much stadium fencing as I can. I’ve stopped upgrading my players (at 4 stars for all of them) and I don’t care about the ludicrously unreachable community goals, unless they boost the amount of bucks I can earn each day.

I am missing both my 10 donuts as well as my tennis marge skin. I did troubleshooting to no avail so contacted them this morning. I had Amit and he told me to uninstall again as the patch was released already. This did not work for me so he told me to wait and keep trying over the next 48 hours and if it still doesn’t work contact them back. Unfortunately at every event I am one of the unlucky ones that always has problems 🙁

Arvind from EA live chat support has confirmed the patch to restore doughnuts is coming tomorrow early AM GMT.
Could you please tell me what you do with tennis maggie, i have received it but cannot find where it has gone.

I think this community prize part is getting ridiculous… first the goal is 110 million, then it drops to 3, now we reached the first goal, second goal is 110 million … What now, another few days untill EA realizes again “oh, they will never make it” and drop the goal again? and again and again for the other prizes? 🙁
Same for ball prizes: first they’re 500 each, then they drop to 40, then back to 500 again, then back to 40 …
*sigh*
I actually sat there and worked out how long it would take to achieve the second community prize at the current rate, and assuming the rate doesn’t increase. It’s weeks past the end of the event. It is literally unachievable.
exactly, so they’ll change the total amount again, and put up 110 million for the third prize? just to change it again …
the patch with the 10 donuts is great, seeing that I never lost my first 10, so I got 20 now, but that keeps me wondering… This still puts players that did lose their first 10 donuts in a disadvantage compared to those who got 20 now … Maybe they can patch that, so now most get 30 and some only got 20 … Wait what? Infinite loop – how so? 😀
FWIW, got ’em in both games yesterday and they’re definitely still there.
Just ha a nice chat with Neeraj from EA support. They said that everybody has this problem and that they are rolling out a patch tomorrow (10 July; it is the 9th here, already) that automatically awards the missing donuts to everybody who lost them.
I was very pleased to hear that as I can imagine that the work load on just that one issue must be exorbitant! There are millions and millions of players; if only 1% of them contacted EA support, they would be dealing with the same issue tens of thousands of times… An automatic patch makes life so much easier.
I contacted EA tonight because I did not get my donuts and I was told that some people who got the donuts, they have disappeared (again). So a new patch is coming tomorrow and they assured me that it would be taken care of very soon. I’m just happy they are aware of the problem and are looking into it.
does any one know whats happening with the community prizes?? the price has gone back up to 110,880,000 balls.. If ea doesn’t fix it we will not complete the set before time runs out GRRRrrrrrr….

Hi guys! I had the same problem with the missing donuts. I contacted EA Germany, they send my case to a specialist in the US. He just wrote me, and I received the 10 donuts back. Also he said that there is gonna be a patch later this week to restore all the lost donuts 🙂
