Well hello there Tappers… fancy meeting you here.

By now, you probably know that I was held hostage by a mean old tuna muncher recently (No… I’m not talking about Patty Bouvier, jeesh, some people). Thankfully, I was able to convince his highness King Snorky to continue playing TSTO for me and other than a vague briny smell on my myPhone, he somehow got me very close to my next GOO prize… the Twirl ‘N’ Hurl.

For the low, low price of 6500 GOO, this attraction can be yours to add to your Krustyland. Although it may seem like EA forgot KL during this update, they did give us dialogue explaining that the tourists there were too scary for the ghosts. This sounds reasonable to me and they did give us parking lot cars and a chance for a new ride.

Previously, I discussed how all the Krustyland stuff fit in to the game AND listed some new rides we could see.  For the record… I don’t even begin to think I’m special enough to influence EA at all, but the Twirl ‘N’ Hurl was on the list… just saying lol.  (NOTE: It didn’t take a genius to make the real world ride vs. TSTO connections, Nick wrote about this also and he’s much more educated than this Wookiee.)

If you didn’t know… Krustyland is based on The Simpsons Ride that is in Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando.  When you go on the ride, you enter Krustyland and via the Tooth Chipper Roller Coaster, and some menace from SIdeshow Bob, the whole ride takes you through many different attractions there.

TSTO Krustyland attractions

In Hollywood (where the ride was first, cool points go to California and boy do we totally like ever need them…. Shah… fo realz yo!) the ride is there and a Kwik-E-Mart that sells merchandise. Of course, Orlando likes to do everything bigger (I think they’re compensating for something besides all that swamp land) and you can not only go on the ride but also visit A WHOLE LOT MORE of Springfield.  Besides Moe’s, The Frying Dutchman, Duff Gardens, Lard Lad, etc., they also have an additional ride… the Kang and Kodos Twirl n Hurl.

I don’t know about you, but I so want to go enjoy this and all the other cool stuff in Orlando.  For now, I’ll just have to enjoy the Springfield stuff in my home state.  I found a lot of cool info at to include the the MyTube video.  Insidethemagic describes the real life ride like this:

“It’s a fairly standard spinner, but with an animated twist featuring the famous giant green aliens from the popular “Treehouse of Horrors” episodes. Under the thinly veiled guise of a simple ordinary amusement attraction, Kodos and Kang “fool” guests into boarding their ride only to reveal that they are truly invading Earth and need help to defeat the human residents of Springfield by flying spaceships past them, triggering humorous reactions.”

There are a ton more great photos of the ride and other Springfield stuff on that site you should take a gander at.  I didn’t feel right using them here. Sometimes it’s best not to copy something that has already been done really well.

I think the addition of this ride is really grrrrrrrreat news! If EA is using the list from Krustyland in The Simpsons Ride, we have a ton of new rides that will be headed our way in the future.  Furry fingers currently crossed for the addition of Captain Dinosaur’s Pirate Rip-Off.

Well, there you have it.  Kang and Kodos are synonymous with The Simpsons and Halloween, so EA gave us a Krustyland Ride based on them.  (Did any one else notice a subtle plug by EA for an amusement park and a sudden longing to visit Florida?)  Well, happy ghostbusting every one… until next time, I remain The Wookiee.
