Who wants to live in a Pumpkin?

Hey hidey ho Tapperinos!

How’s every one enjoying their Event so far? That good, huh? What do you mean there’s an unhappy tapper you saw on some forum somewhere? Well, if I’ve learned anything swinging through the forests of Kashyyyk, you can’t please every one all the time, but the threat of ripping arms out of sockets does wonders for fake smiles.

Anywho, just wanted to pop in real quick with some info on the very first prize that comes from collecting GOO. The pumpkin house shows up at 100 GOO (which comes pretty quick actually). This interesting building comes from Treehouse of Horror XI, Scary Tales Can Come True.

Should the Gremlins Stay or Should they Go?

Hi Ghostbusters!

We’ve been getting several questions in the comment section about Gremlins and when to tap them in your town, if it hurts or helps your neighbors. So let’s go over some of the Gremlin basics!

gremlin

When should you squash Gremlins in your town?

Well, that’s entirely up to you! If you let them run around your town for the full 4 hours your friends will earn 4 GOOs per Gremlin. However, if you squash them before the 4 hours are up you’ll each receive 2 GOOs.
My thought is when you squash them everyone wins! You get something out of it and so do your friends. Plus you can free up your town for more friends to drop Gremlins! More Gremlins=more GOO!

gremlin leave

How many Gremlins can be in your town at once?

10 Gremlins are the max that are allowed in any one Springfield at a time. When you visit a friends town there will be a Gremlin counter in the top right corner of the screen. This tells you how many Gremlins you can still drop in their town.
2013-10-01 20.21.18
If they have too many Gremlins in their town a pop-up will appear on your screen saying something like, this friend has too many Gremlins try again later. All you have to do is wait a little while to see if you can drop some I later, or try a different friend.
too many gremlins

Do Gremlins steal my GOO or create new GOO?

The good news here is that, unlike another event that shall not be named, Gremlins don’t actually steal GOO. Instead they create new GOO. So the 4 GOO yielded from the Gremlins is new GOO and does NOT come off of your collected (or soon to be collected) GOO total!

How do I know how Gremlins I dropped in friends towns are doing?

Well after you’ve dropped Gremlins in another town, if they’ve survived or been whooped you’ll receive a notification the next time you return back to your town. A little pop-up window will appear on your screen telling you just how much GOO your little Gremlins were able to collect!

So that should just about cover the Gremlin basics. If you have anymore questions feel free to leave them in the comments below!

Happy ghost gremlin hunting everyone!

A Haunting We Will Go!!

Bunny hoppin on in here for a quick recap on your Neighboreeno visiting. Once YOU have built the Gypsy building, you can start to pop ghosts and collect Gremlins n Goo. You now can go to your neighboreenos to get even more gremlins and goo.

BUT FIRST. Your neighboreeno needs to have gotten to the ghost popping level too. How can you tell? Just look by their name in the town section. If the Goo Counter is at 0, they are not ready for all the fun. If their counter is at 1 or more Goo, then you can go have Halloween fun in their town.

Once in, you will have the same 3 chances to “tap” their house. The top right corner will tell you how many taps you have left. (Like 3/3.) However, instead of those $ signs, you will now see lil white ghost symbols above them.

Tap the lil ghost and VOILA…HAUNTED HOUSE!!!

1

This all works the same as before, the buildings have to be available to tap. If other neighbors beat you to it and you see no ghosts, then either you didn’t check to see if they are ready and above zero goo or they have been all tapped out and you will have to wait until next time to “haunt” their homes. Make sure you don’t leave the town until you finish all your tasks that you can.

Hope this makes sense. Any further questions, let me know. 🙂

In Game Update….

Hi Ghostbusters!

Just wanted to let you all know of the in-game update that was just launched.  Looks like it’s just fixing some glitches (and we know TSTO has been VERY glitchy since the update came out!) so don’t be alarmed when you see update in progress the next time you login.  Also, don’t be alarmed if you get “crashed out” of the game!  This happened to some on the Addicts staff…the game crashed so it could update.

So be on the look out for the in game update!

2013-10-02 16.52.00

Oh and the most bizarre thing happened in the middle of my update…I had a half white half TSTO screen just spinning around on the screen.  Very odd indeed!  Here’s a screenshot of it…if this happens to you don’t panic.  Just hard close your game (ie close from the Task Manager of your device) and restart it.  That’s the only way to fix it!

UPDATE: Ok so we’ve had a chance to fully review everything that came with today’s in game update.  And according to the files the follow now happens in the game:
-Sound/voice files were added for Kodos & Count Burns
-Sunday’s trivia has changed.  Originally it was going to award 5 donuts & Strongman Homer (See our Attic Post for more) now the files say 10 donuts and Strongman Homer!  (woohoo free donuts!)
-Wailing & Spooky walls can now be placed on the pavement
-And some quest changes for later quests in the event!

Tapped Out Halloween Walkthroughs: The First Two GOO Prizes, Pumpkins & Burial Grounds

Hey howdy hey Ghostbusters!

As you’re collecting your GOO you’ll start to reach those prize milestones.  So far the first two prizes unlock “mini-quests” (woohoo free prizes AND free quests!).  Since they’re both pretty simple and quick I’ve decided to combine the two!

An Ancient Indian WHAT???!!

There is an item available with the new event (500 GOO to be exact) labeled “Indian Burial Ground.” In this quick little post, I will let you know just where it came from.

FYI DO NOT BUY THIS WITH YOUR DONUTS UNLESS YOU WANT MORE THAN ONE. YOU GET IT FREE WITH 500 GOO!!

The burial ground can be seen in the first of the Treehouse of Horror Series (Bad Dream House).

THERE’S A MONSTER OUT THERE!!!

Where on earth did those lil Green Gremlins come from? Alissa did a great job touching on and explaining just what they are for our happy lil tapping fingers here and here, but I wanted to let you know just exactly where they came from as far as the Treehouse of Horror Episodes.

What’s In the Simpsons Attic?

watch-simpsons-online-simpsonslol-801
Some of our AMAZING readers here at Addicts have pointed out a new item that appears when you tap on the Simpson house…Region Capture

Yes, there are in fact some strange new items in the attic!  In fact FREE items!  When you tap Go here’s what happens…
Region Capture2

It looks as though EA is planning on giving tappers FREE items over the next few days starting today (Wednesday)!   Looks like you have to Pop Ghosts to find the items.

This morning (Wednesday) I tapped on one of my haunted buildings and out popped a flaming hoop!
flameing hoop

And of course a little guidance from Homer & EA…
hoop 1
attic prizes
Always thinking ahead that Homer!

So what are these mystery Attic items?  It looks as though they all make up parts to a new costume in the game files.  Just what is that costume?  Strongman Homer!  The whole event will cap off with a trivia question on Sunday…of some sort,  So be sure to tune into Addicts this weekend to see how you can get this great costume!
Homer_Strongman
So if you’re curious just how you unlock the Strongman Homer costume…there’s your answer.  But you have to play the game (and pop ghosts) to get him!  So be sure you’re tap tap tapping away over the next few days to unlock this special LIMITED TIME item!

UPDATE: Also, there have been a few questions in the comments about if you miss a day.  We don’t really have an answer on this yet, but I’d err on the side of caution with this.  Since you’re supposed to collect a new item each day, and each day is spelled out (Wednesday-Saturday) it’s possible if you miss a day you might not be able to collect the full costume.  So if your Fortune teller building isn’t complete yet you may want to speed it up with donuts, just this once, to make sure you get today’s item!  Once we have information on this update I’ll post it right here!

UPDATE #2: Looks as though today’s update brought us 10 FREE donuts in addition to Strongman Homer with Sunday’s trivia!

Community Prizes?? Really?

As you get past the first build in the Halloween update and move past your own GOO ambitions (check it out at Ghosts, Gremlins & GOO) you’ll notice there’s another new feature with this update.  A community GOO collection to work towards unlocking new items.  That screen looks like this:

Region Capture

Of course this screen shot was taken when the update first went live…and now the GOO count is much closer to 5,000,000,000 (yes that’s 5 BILLION).

Much like your own personal prizes you can earn for collecting GOO, these are prizes every tapper will earn (at the same time) if these numbers are achieved by the community as a whole.  So what are the items?

Well the first prize to unlock is the First Church of Lard Lad:
200px-First_Church_of_Lard_Lad_Tapped_Out

The rest of the items, in order are:

100px-Clawing_Zombie_Tapped_OutClawing Zombie

ghostbombGhost Bomb
frogprinceFrog Prince

200px-King_Homer's_Skyscraper_Tapped_OutKing Homer’s Skyscraper
So there you have it.  So get to tapping everyone!  Help ALL tappers get these awesome prizes before they’re gone!

UPDATE: We now know, after finally having a chance to review the files, that 5 billion is the FINAL unlock number, to unlock all 5 items.  Each item will unlock at earlier stages.  First Church of Lard Lad should unlock at 1 billion (it’s getting close!), Clawing Zombie at 2 billion community GOO, Ghost Bomb at 3 billion community GOO, Frog Prince at 4 billion community GOO & finally King Homer’s Skyscraper at the total 5 million community GOO.  That seems a bit more manageable huh?!

UPDATE #2: The counter is now over 1billion and the church has not been unlocked.  Many are now back to the original though that it’s 5 billion to unlock the Church of the Lard Lad.  At either rate it should be unlocked soon 🙂
