I am sure by now you have noticed we DID hit that 5 billion community mark. Everyone should be seeing the messages now that they have The First Church of Lard Lad in their inventory. (Note: If you don’t see the First Church of Lard Lad pop up immediately after you sign into your game, this happened to Alissa, just collect some more GOO. It will pop up shortly thereafter)
There was a lot of discussion that this item may end up being just a skin. Here at Addicts we didn’t think so, as not everyone purchases premium items (plus we peeked at the game files :)). So, I am happy to report EA released yet another FREE item to everyone for their town. The great thing is the Church will also provide you a payout of $90 and 10 XP every 4 hours, which definitely is a plus.
With all of the Halloween premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the premium zombies to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding premium zombies to your Springfield.
Character(s): Crazy Zombie/ Senile Zombie (Shuffling Zombie is free with collecting GOO & Snarling Zombie costs $50,000 in game cash) Donut Price: 12 Donuts each Unique?: Yes
Pros:
-Reasonably priced
-Animation when tapped, same animation as the Shuffling Zombie.
-Limited-Time characters. Great for new tappers and Android players who couldn’t play TSTO last year because it wasn’t available on Android.
Cons: -No tasks are assigned for the Zombies
-Do not come with unlock quests
-No interaction with other characters and/or animals in Springfield
Final Thought: Personally I think you’re better off saving your donuts and passing on this one. While 12 donuts is a really low price for a premium character…so it may be tempting to buy… it’s still a character that will just walk around your town and not really give you any “in game value”, other than something pretty to look at (think Funzos). So, unless you’ve already purchased all of the other premium characters or you’re a completest, I’d pass on this one and save your donuts.
Anyone else catch the new episode of Treehouse of Horror? It was AMAZING as usual. I really do like the twisted and dark mind set of Guillermo del Toro. Speaks to all those OTHER voices in my head. (Shhhhh. Don’t say that too loud. You’ll wake up the others.) If you did, you would’ve been able to see just exactly where that Strongman Homer costume came from we all were earning from this years Halloween Event. Not to mention why on earth we needed an Emerald Ring to unlock it. On to the next episode of “Where did THAT come from?”
No…. the killer dolphins aren’t the news but I couldn’t help myself. If you don’t know already… we just got The First Church of Lard Lad.
I must confess I sat on my game and watched the last 5 million or so GOO that clicked off on the community pot. Life. Well. Spent.
SO AWESOME! As I already had a Lard Lad’s, I am even happier that we all got another (or your first) donut shop for Springfield!
There has been a lot of speculation about the community prizes but it seems like EA will give us one present with each goal met. This is basically what we all figured, especially considering the little arrow on the Community Prizes screen pointing to The First Church of Lard Lad.
The next goal is 10 BILLION GOO and the prize is the Clawing Zombie. Considering it only took 7 days to reach this mark, we should be good for all 5 prizes considering the event is 38 days long.
Stay tuned for more info on this prize later Halloween Party People! Wookiee out!
Just wanted to take a quick minute to let you know we’ve made a few minor changes to the friends pages. To make things easier for everyone to find we’ve created a second page. The first page is still there, and now labeled Find Friends while the second page is labeled Add friends. Our goal is to make it easier for everyone to find and add new friends!
As a reminder please make sure you put your Friend & Add Me requests on our Neighbor-eeno page. This will ensure your Friend request doesn’t get lost in the other comments! We want to make sure your request is seen by all of our readers looking for new friends!
I know Homer is required for A LOT of different tasks throughout the Halloween Event, but Strongman Homer is one questline you can put off for as long as you need to. However, once Possessed Homer dines with Marge at the Truffle he’s no longer needed for the main Halloween questline so you’ll be free to send him off on all of the other various quests. Keep in mind, once you unlock the costume it’s yours forever, you DO NOT have to finish the Strongman Homer questline in order to keep the costume. Take your time and have fun!
Hey howdy hey GOO Collectors!
Have you unlocked your Strongman Homer Costume yet? If not you can find out how to get it from the Simpson’s Attic here. If you have unlocked the Strongman costume it comes with a pretty amusing little storyline. This is something you can start after you’ve completed Part 11 of the Ghost in the Machine-base App (where Possessed Homer dines with Marge at the Truffle). Once you’ve unlocked Strongman he’s yours, so you don’t have to worry about completing the task before the Halloween Event is over…which is good news with all those Homer tasks!
