Hi Tappers,
By now many of you have heard, Marcia Wallace, the voice of Edna Krabappel, has passed away at the age of 70. It’s a sad day for fans of the Simpsons, as Al Jean has confirmed Edna will officially be retired from the show:
“I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace. She was beloved by all at The Simpsons and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character. Earlier we had discussed a potential storyline in which a character passed away. This was not Marcia’s Edna Krabappel. Marcia’s passing is unrelated and again, a terrible loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing her.”
I can’t believe that the Legendry character Edna Krabapple is never to be seen on the simpsons again. When I read your article it shocked me and made me think what will happen to Bart’s class. Who will be there teacher. Will there be any more humour in the classroom in Springfield Elementry!!!! Also how will the amazing Edna leave. Will she die in the programme or will she just move away. Very sad day for all the simpson fans…….. am tearful writing this
