As many of you have commented, and already updated, there’s an app store update available in the store. This update will download the game files for Showbiz Showdown…the next multi-event in TSTO.
This update will start up tomorrow (August 10th) at 11am ET. You can find more spoilers for it here.
You will need Lisa and Bart free to kick things off…
I’ll have more details up tomorrow once the event hits, but for now make sure you download the latest update (and your Splash Screen changes to the new Showbiz Showdown splash screen), and be ready for things to start up tomorrow. Oh and check out the site tomorrow morning before the event for all of the fun Splash and Burn designs for Springfield Showoff!
Well just as we predicted, it’s update time in TSTO! Nice to see EA sticking to their schedule…
A new update is available in the App Stores, BUT this will not go live until TOMORROW (March 17th). So do not panic when you download the update and nothing has changed in your game.
UPDATE: The event is currently LIVE in Springfield. If you don’t see the Splash Screen or snow you likely don’t have the update downloaded, so check the app store. I’m working on the rundown post and will have it up soon…just a lot of details to cover!

Yes, it’s time for the annual TSTO Christmas Event! And this year no one is safe in this Clash of Creeds!
Although we weren’t allowed to talk about it at the time, we were fortunate enough to receive our “spoiler” pre-event packet from EA last week and now that the event has officially hit the files we’re finally free of the NDA and we’re allowed to talk about it!
So, this event will hit TOMORROW (Wednesday, December 9th) however the App Store update is/will be available today for download. So be sure to download the update.
A couple of key points…
-The event is called Clash of Creeds: Christmas Royale.
-You will need to be at or above Level 12 in order to start this event. That means Level 12 in both XP and Game Play.
-This is another MULTI-EVENT. 4 acts, 9 days/act
-Event ends January 13th 2021. (Personally funny to me…starts on my little sister’s bday and ends on my mama’s bday…) -Gil will make an appearance at the end of this event (175 donuts for the Gil deal)
-1 new premium combo, aside from Gil, per Act. You’ll need..if I’m reading this correctly, 700 total donuts for those 4 items (not including Gil…875 if you include Gil).
-There will be a Christmas Mystery Box
-There will also be a Santa’s Wonderland Box
-For Santa’s Wonderland there will be special daily challenges that will earn you tickets to unlock that box. Here’s hoping it’s similar to Stonecutters -Both boxes are full of returning items. So if you already have a lot of Christmas stuff, like I do, you may not see either box. (daily challenge tickets will be able to be exchanged for donuts at the end)
-The turkey will be making an appearance in one of the boxes as a stand-alone item. I know some of you have been looking for that.
-Characters to keep free for currency earning tasks: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lovejoy, Flanders, Mr. Burns, Krusty, Wiggum, Moe, and Rabbi K.
-Per EA: “Keep an eye out on Christmas Day for a special donut promotion, for bonus donuts and the return of a very unique character for one day only.”
-I’m going to have another post with spoiler images and event overview, up shortly.
Note: The updates should be available in your App Store at this point. So be sure to check your store and update accordingly.

The THOH Event has hit the files, which means it will be available for download on the app store soon. Just a reminder, IT WILL NOT GO LIVE IN TSTO UNTIL TOMORROW (11AM ET). So don’t freak out if it’s not live yet. It’ll go live on Wednesday October 14th at 11am ET.
Anyway, now that it’s live in the files we can share some SPOILERS! So for those who were looking for those spoilers, here’s your chance!
I will say prior to the spoiler warning, this is a typical Multi-Event. Runs from tomorrow (Oct 14th) until November 18th. Here’s the schedule:
ALERT: This is currently, as of this posting Tuesday night ET, an APP Store update only. The event is NOT live in-game. So please don’t ask why the update hasn’t started for you yet. It won’t go live in-game, even if you’ve downloaded the update, until Wednesday, August 12th at 11am ET, 1500 UTC.
Also, if you don’t see this update available in your app store try hard closing the store and reopening. Then do a search for Tapped Out. It may not appear in your “update” list right away.

Well, it looks like while I was busy feeding, bathing, putting my kids to bed, and handling the constant “Mommy I need to go pee!” or “Mommy I need water!” or “Mommy I’m not tired!” calls coming from a certain 4-year-olds bedroom…it seems EA has released the next update in TSTO. Right on time, for a change.
This is currently an APP STORE update, and not live in games.
So who had a Milhouse family reunion in the TSTO update pool?
The Van Houten Event will start on Wednesday August 12th and 11am ET (1500 UTC).
Rolling out this evening is an App Store update for Thanksgiving 2019. The update is going live in App Stores (confirmation for Google and Amazon, Pat said it’s not showing up in iOS just yet iOS as well), but it is NOT live in-game yet.
I’m in the process of pulling files and images on this, but my hunch is it’ll go live tomorrow morning around 10am.
It’s important to note that downloading this update will NOT remove THOH content from your game. Those items are still set via timer. So you’ll have until tomorrow to make purchases, even if you’ve downloaded the update.

And so far…they have still not fixed that annoying sound that starts up when you turn on TSTO even if your sounds are disabled…FIX IT EA!

While we wait for Halloween to finally hit…we’ve been given the OK to share SOME spoilers with you guys. Info is below, so if you don’t want to know…don’t click below…
UPDATE: The update has hit the server, but it’s still not available in the app store as of yet. Give it about an hour or so, needs to get approval from iOS, Android, and Amazon before it shows up as an update.
Another little hint at what might arrive this Christmas. A few weeks ago it appears EA accidentally released the wrong App Store description. They quickly fixed it, but some folks were able to grab a screenshot of it (Shoutout to Tapper72234 for emailing the screenshot to us)….
So combining this description with the Hiss-mas teaser, what do you think it all means?
Looks like the Christmas 2018 just flew into our games! But, like I said yesterday before you get too excited and try to read too much into it…remember the last several teasers that hit our games have had NOTHING to do with the next event. So don’t read too much into it…yet! Or read everything into it! It’s Christmas! Who isn’t excited?!
Anyway, when you start up your game you’ll see the dialogue from Cletus….
