Should You Buy Chili Blasters?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Spending actual cash on donuts for an item is once again here in TSTO.  This is something EA’s been rolling out over the last few years, and it’s a new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them)  Where they attach a limited-time, item to one of the donut bundles sometimes in addition to bonus donuts.  This is the first time I recall seeing a limited-time BUILDING attached to this though…

And I want to be perfectly clear…you do not need to buy these items for the event itself.  You can still play this game, and complete all the tasks and prizes, 100% free.  These cash-for-items are a new type of premium currency…because donuts have been so devalued with donut farming.

This time around we’re being offered Chili Blasters + an animated task for Homer, for a tray of 132 Donuts ($9.99 in the US)..no bonus this time around.  While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Chili Blasters and anything else you might be curious about.

Addicts Open Thread

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Well, this is the mini-event for you!  Yes, it’s mini-event time in our pocket-sized towns, as Foodie Fight makes its way to our games.  Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Bug Report 5/20/21: Login Issues/Verification Code

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

As many of you have noticed since the most recent update there have been some changes to the login screen for TSTO.  Most notably, the need for a verification code to log in.

According to EA this is a widespread code issue…and they’re working to resolve it.  In the meantime they offer these suggestions to try and get into your game if you’re having issues:

  1. Restart the application, via a force-close and launch (make sure it’s not still running in the background when restarting the app), and then requesting a new code
  2. Restart the device, launch the app and request a new code
  3. Keep trying!
  4. When using Code Login,  ensure the email address is correct, and that you are entering the code fairly quickly after receiving it.

I can attest, these steps did work for me last night when I couldn’t get back into my game after switching over to my “B” town to pull event info.  I tried the verification code they sent and it didn’t log me in.  So I hard closed and restarted TSTO, requested a new code, and thankfully that one worked.

I also suggest if you need to log in/out of TSTO to switch towns, be near a computer, or alternate device, when logging into your game so you can check your email.  If you try to check it from your device it’ll force you to request a new code, unless you have notifications from that email (that show the body of the email) on your device and can access them while TSTO is still running.

Also, the code doesn’t last very long.  So you do need to be quick when entering it.

This is SUPER annoying, especially if you’re someone who switches between TSTO towns on one device (like me)…but EA is aware of it and working on a repair for the coding problem.  Hopefully, it’s fixed sooner rather than later.

Foodie Fight Update is Live! (The Rundown and What You Need to Know)

Who’s hungry?!  In the mood for a Sweet and Sour Lasagna Burrito from General Chang’s?! Well this is the mini-event for you!

The latest mini-event in our pocket-sized towns, Foodie Fight, is now live!  Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest update from the app store to see it.  This update will turn the splash screen back to normal Homer running…so if you still see the Rise of the Robots splash screen, you haven’t updated.

You’ll need Homer, Brockman, and CBG for the traditional series of 6s tasks.  This is followed by 4hr task for Homer, Marge, Bart, Grampa, Apu, Luigi,
Akira, CBG, and the new premium character.

Update Available- 5/18 (Foodie Fight)

Update #2: Here’s a little more info I couldn’t grab last night:
You’ll need:
Homer
Marge
Bart
Grampa
Apu
Luigi
Akira
CBG

For the 4hr currency earning tasks.

You’ll also need Homer, Kent Brockman, and CBG free to start the event (6s tasks).

Update: The event is titled Foodie Fight and will start tomorrow (Wednesday, May 19th) at 11am ET (1500 GMT).  This will be a mini-event, and we’ll have more details up once it hits tomorrow.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

There’s currently an update available in our app stores. This will remove the Rise of The Robots splashscreen and (I assume) will bring on the next update.

I’m currently at the Little League field watching Riley’s game,  so I’m not able to pull files at the moment.  Totally flying blind right now.  But I’ll take a  look at what this new update will bring (which I assume will start tomorrow…Wednesday 5/19) and update y’all a little later.

For now… here’s what I’ve got from my phone…
