Friday Filler – Becoming a Scofflaw With TSTO Item Limits

Thank Grog it’s Firday!

I have to admit, that when I saw that EA had raised the limit on items you can place in your town, froqm 10,300 to 10,400, I laughed. As in laughed out loud…LOL!

I had just received a “BUILDING WARNING” that I currently had 9,800 items, and that it could create “performance issues” with my game. Pfffftttt….

Come on. I’m old…but, I’m not so old that I have “performance issues” with any part of my game!

Oh. Wait. That’s right…they were talking about TSTO.

But, even as it pertains to TSTO, I have been around the block enough to know that they always raise the limits…because they HAVE to. Why? Because they keep giving us so much clutter in every update, that we are forced to “place or store” countless digital baubles, and if they don’t raise the limits…the truly dedicated players would simply quit.

I have to admit…knowing this has turned me into a bit of a TSTO Scofflaw! (one who scoffs at the law).  But, this isn’t the only aspect of my life where I am prone to ignore the rules. I’m a renegade…a rule breaker…a guy who lives on the edge!

Should I Spend Donuts on the Returning Light-up Elder God or Pumpkin House?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s time for a little Magical Halloween to invade Springfield!  With this all new magical event a few returning items magically returned to our stores…just asking us to drop our sprinkles.

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Light-Up Elder God or Pumpkin House to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your town…

Halloween Magic Act 2…Free Donuts!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Just popping in with something real quick.  Once again EA has made it even easier to earn free donuts for Act 2 of this event!

Just Act 1, EA’s done something a little different (and in my opinion BETTER) for Halloween Act 2….you can now earn bonuts BEFORE you’ve completed the prize track! In this case, once you’ve completed the main questline,  you’ll see the bonus round popup:

So for every 10,000  you collect after finishing the questline, you’ll have a chance for 1, 2 or 3 donuts!

BTW….Can you Spot EA’s Typo?

This is great because now if you, for some reason, don’t make it to the final prize on the Act 2 prize track you can still earn free donuts!  And you’ll earn free donuts just for getting to the final prize.  You’ll earn at least 1 round of bonuts before you get to the end! (well depending on how fast you finish the questline, but it’s pretty short…so shouldn’t take too long)

Remember, to trigger the bonus round you’ll need to complete the Act 2 questline.  Turbo Tapping version can be found here.

Pretty sweet change in my opinion!  No tricks here, this is definitely a treat this Halloween!

THOH XVIII – Act II Calendar

I have to admit… I was a bit like Charlie Brown this morning as I opened my game up, knowing that a new act was starting.  Like Charlie at Halloween…I was hoping for a full-size premium chocolate bar, and instead, appear to have received another rock.  One click…and BOOM…we are back to grinding.

I’m not really sure what to tell you, except that this act seems to be as easy as the last act, if you “want it all.”  But, like last act, we are left with the same “meh” and redundant craftables…along with some pretty uninspired “Main Prize Track” prizes.

But then…just as I was typing that last paragraph…I got a message from Alissa, that EA had changed the numbers again…upped them to make them a bit harder. This was AFTER I had spent 2 hours doing the math, and making the new calendars. Yes…EA is currently on my Sh*t list. Not a fan.

I’m not against the Potter-esque event….I’m just still waiting for the magic.

But…here are the numbers…all a couple of hundred higher than the originals that were in the files…just because EA apparently wants to prove “who is in charge” and is being Richard-ish…even though we have established that this update is anything but Hallow-Richardy in its execution.
