Badabum badabum badabum badadbumbumbum (phonetic NFL intro lol).  Sorry for the cheesyness but I’m just a happy Wookiee.  Loving the Valentine’s Event so far even if it is a bit too pink for my tastes.  Before every event, I usually get the chance to rap about items I’d like to see in the game (part 1 and part 2).  I initially didn’t think there’d be much VD stuff that I’d want, but I surprised myself by finding a lot.  Of course, you poop in one hand and wish in the other and we all know how that turns out, but I actually got one right (two if you count the grocery store in Level 38).

Hey Howdy Hey Heart Breakers!

Are you all excited to see the finalists for our Valentine’s Day Contest?!  Wookiee, Bunny & I have been hard at work pouring over every single entry you guys submitted to our TSTO Addicts Valentine’s Day Contest and the ONLY thing we could all easily agree on is you guys have some AMAZING talent!  As Bunny would say…holy frakk can you guys write!  Seriously, we were BLOWN away by the caliber of some of your poems!  You all deserve a round of applause for you’re AWESOME poems!  We plan on displaying each and every poem for all readers to see once the contest voting is over!

Now back to the finalists.  It was so hard for us to narrow it down to just 10!  So after much debating we’ve decided to make extend the number of finalists to 25.  Seriously you guys have some AWESOME talent! (and we were overwhelmed by submissions)  You think since we extended it to 25 it’d be easier to pick the finalists huh?  Not a chance.  With so many entries we read and re-read each submission no less than a dozen times each!  But enough rambling…we finally narrowed it down to the top 25!

Hey Howdy Hey Heart Breakers!

I know you’re all anxious for the finalists for the Valentine’s Day Contest and they’re coming soon…I promise.  They’ll be up in just a few short hours 🙂  So many awesome submissions it’s hard to go through them all!  It’s coming though, so just be patient….

Anywho…we’ve been seeing a lot of questions pop up in the comments about bonuses from items.  You see in TSTO when you buy a premium decoration not only do they look cool but they also award you a bonus % on all cash and XP.  For more about bonus % on cash and XP check out this post.  So we know that premium decorations add a bonus % to our towns but what about Valentine’s Day Wheel items?  What do those do?  Let’s take a look into the files to find out shall we?   Continue reading →

Woo hoo!  A classic Superman reference.  Makes me feel all Comic Book Guysey inside.

With all the romance in the air, it seems only natural that EA would give us a “classy” restaurant.  Sure, you could take your Marge to a fancy establishment like the Guilded Truffle, but that would be boring, right?  There’s nothing that says elegance and refinement like a restaurant made from a hollowed out airplane.

Valentine’s and the Conform-O-Meter

Update February 2015: The Valentine’s Day Event for 2015 added one new item and a bunch of returning items.  The one new item was the Animatronic Bears, and to see how they impact the Conform-O-Meter check out the details on them here.

Can you feeelll the Loooovveee Tonight….ok ok I’ll stop singing!  No one needs to hear it, not even me.  But Love is in the air in Springfield as our games went from the Duff fun of the Super Bowl to the lovey dovey ways of Valentine’s Day.  With new buildings and A LOT of new decorations introduced with the update I thought now would be the perfect time to share with my favorite Addicted Tappers just how these new items will impact your Conform-o-Meter rating.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

While the Valentine’s event brought no changes to the Conform-O-Meter requirements, level 38 did though, it did bring us a ton of new items to add to our Springfield.  Let’s take a look at how all of the new “goodies” impact our rating:
