Looks like we got ourselves a little in-game update going on…
Milhouse kicks it off…
Looks like this is an episode-tie in my friends. For this Sunday’s Season Finale of The Simpsons! (Yellow Badge of Cowardage).
UPDATE: Ok so it looks like, from the files anyway, they attempted to fix the lagging issue (the file is a “hotfix”. Some are reporting their games are still lagging. On my Tablet, at least, i’m not noticing the lag anymore. BUT I will check out my phone and iPad here shortly.
For those that were locked out, can you get in now? Or are you still getting the spinning donut of death?
Note on Friendship Points: It looks like they’re not working (as in I’m not being awarded any at the moment). BEST thing to do in this situation…is contact EA, using the same methods in the Lag post. The more people that let them know there’s an issue the more they’ll be on it. I will be contacting them myself here shortly…..

As I said above Milhouse kicks it off with some dialogue and then a 6hr task…here are the details for the initial in-game dialogue:

Homer: Wait, don’t tell me! I totally know you — you’re Lisa’s boyfriend, or girlfriend, or something. Uhhh….Martin?
Milhouse: No, close though.
Homer: Okay, think, Homer. Not Nelson, because he’s cool. God, I wish I was Nelson. Okay, gotta focus….close to Martin…Comic Book Guy?
Milhouse: That’s not a good guess at all.
Homer: Principal Skinner? Duffman? Lard Lad? The Kwik-E-Mart?
Milhouse: My last name is Van Houten.
Homer: ….
Are you sure I know you?
Milhouse: *sigh*
Lenny: Hey Homer! Whatcha doin’?
Homer: Just messing with Milhouse to cheer him up. He seemed kind of down.
Carl: Sorry to hear that. What’s up kid? Did future Lisa future divorce future you again?
Milhouse: No, field day is coming up at school and I’ve already go a closet full of last-place trophies in one of those. I don’t know what to do
Lenny: You could rent a storage unit!
Carl: Yea, I bet you could fit a crapload of last-place trophies in one of those.
Lenny: It’s fun solving people’s problems!
Homer: I think Milhouse actually wants to NOT lose.
Lenny: Oh, like win? That’s super-hard.
Carl: I’d seriously give the storage unit some thought.
Homer: Come on, guys – let’s help him win!
Milhouse: Do you guys actually know anything about fitness?
Homer: I know “feel the burn” is a thing. And there’s something called cardio, which is either good or bad. Also electrolytes, maybe?
Carl: Listen to Professor Jack Lalanne over here!
Milhouse: Maybe I should just look up fitness on the internet.
Carl: The inter-what-now?
Milhouse: The internet. It’s where I learned about the civil war, dinosaurs, my parent’s getting divorce, my parents getting back together…the tidal wave approaching Springfield, the assassination of Trotsky–
Homer: They assassinated Trotsky?!
Lenny: There were dinosaurs?!
Milhouse: I’m going to go do an internet search for “rock-hard male bodies”
Carl: Just make sure safe search is on with that one.

Keep Homer available for Part 2 as he kicks it off, then Milhouse does the 4hr task that will result in the pop up to get his new skin. Once placed on, he will start Part 3 for 12hrs.

In my game which I have already completed FP other than what’s new I am not getting FP’s when going to friends. Now in my husbands game which he has not maxed out FP he is still getting them even from the helping hands in his town. Should I contact Each and let them know I am not getting them or jst wait patiently for the fix??
Yes, contact EA. I am on the phone with them as we speak.
You got a phone number? All I get is Chat or Email. Seems like they don’t respond to either. The chat person I got said they know about the problem and said to just wait it out. Nothing you can do if your game exits out to iOS at this time.
I have other methods to contact EA in a “alternate” path. Lol. No worries. I just put up a post. Add your name to the thread that started though. The more players vocal, the better.

I’d be surprised if a simple data update would fix the lagging. I assume that it’ll take another app update to get rid of that. Maybe FP level 8 also needs a revised app to work. So possible we’ll see another appstore update very soon…

Still laggy on all my devices (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2012). Not sure whether I’m trying opening tickets as I’m still waiting for responses to my last two game A/B tickets filled yesterday…
Right now I think just letting them know via the forums helps so they can see all that are effected by it even AFTER the update.

New updates in. Lag is even worse on our iPad Mini Retina and iPad Air. Also not receiving any fp!!
My Level 8 FP isnt either. 7 is working fine.
I play on an iPhone 4s and the game is still lagging and I am also not receiving friendship points.
Not sure if this was brought up – but looks like it only kicks-off if you did the Easter removal update? I’m still holding out because a) wanted Shary and (b) wanted to avoid lag issues – but I’m guessing this is very limited time… what to do? What to do?……

Oh No worries! No need to apologize either. I was only still on easter because I didn’t want to deal with the update issues, not because I had any real goals. Haha.. (FYI : lag issue isn’t too bad for me after the update. Just the friend points problem as everyone else has indicated).
Weird. I noticed I still gained a donut from visiting friends.. so not a true loss visiting now even if fp is wonky.
Yep – I was forced. I’m not too disappointed. I was okay without Shary but I figured that with the lag issues, I may as well stay in Easter and keep trying. I even broke down and bought 25 donuts of gold spins last night and didn’t win her (although I think she was close – because you usually see them starting to tease a stop within a few boxes of winning them). But nonetheless, I had decided no more donuts so… it’s fate.
AAAAAA!! Lag soooo bad ;( I use ipad mini. Not sure on FP yet. Gonna’ hold off tapping until later.

Second update hit my device and stopped Milhouse in the middle of his 6 hour task. No new skin and no highlighted task for him to do. Still having FP issues with my meter now reading 1/1 and saying I have all the prizes so far. I’m expecting a few hot fixes today
The skin comes from the quest. You have to complete the first part of it to have it unlocked. If he is busy right now, nothing will trigger til he is done.
FP is effecting all those on Level 8

It is an episode tie in to this Sundays new episode. So, you will want to start it before Sunday as the shut off is 11:59 that night for the tie in items.
It’ll end on Tuesday 5/20…files so 0800 GMT, 4am EST.

Not receiving FP either, I’m going through and doing the general trouble shooting (synchronising, logging out/in etc) to see if that helps, but I get the feeling it won’t haha.
I’m not experiencing lag in my town anymore, but still having it in friends towns.
It seems to only effect FP level 8. My A game is on level 7 and still collecting just fine.
Ok, thanks for the reply. I’m contacting EA as we speak, because as it’s been said, the more people that contact the faster they get on it. It would be nice to start collecting now as 5000 FP are needed, but if I’m only delayed a day or two, it’s not so bad. I’ve got plenty of quests to finish. 🙂
It seems I only have the Fp problem on my main account.
It is only effecting those on FP level 8. Others below, like my A game, are still collecting.

YAY on new stuff and a new quest line 🙂 But i’m also still having the animation lag issue and lack of friend points even though the counter, i.e. #of actions available for 10 FPts vs 5 FPts etc, continues to count down. Hope this gets fixed soon!
The FP is effecting only those on level 8. Still looking into it myself
So here’s what I’ve discovered, my B Springfield’s FP’s are working correctly, FP level 2. My A Springfield doesn’t register FP from either visiting friends or from their visits, level 8. And as for the lag issue, when I visit A from my B Springfield the lag is still very prevailant, in fact anytime I visit a Springfield that is in the upper levels the lag is there. IMO EA hasn’t fixed the lag issue yet.

On my android device I’m experiencing the lag still, as well as the FP problem. It also says the shack is 30 donuts in my town.

Bwah-hah-hah! It’s still speedy Easter time here in Cguyfield! Of course, at nearly 20,000,000 dollars, and 1 revolving task, and only 18 neighboreenos to visit, it’s a little… Ok, I’ll say it… Boring!
Can’t even do the one revolving task, as it’s Homer and Monkey Trauma Center (24 hour task), and I want him free if I decide to update.

Yay! New update! I wish they’d start these updates without the need to have a certain character free first. I’m also having the same FP and lagging problem others have reported. I’m still really excited to get new character skins! I was really hoping that we’d get cool Lisa!

iPhone 5s still runs flawless, I didn’t check on fps so I don’t know if they work or not.

Lagging still happening and no FP being awarded.
One device of mine is ok (Tab 3), other laggy (GS4), and no FP for me either. Looking into it.
3 days later & even after the next new update I still can’t even get passed the splash screen. Real nice EA. I love how the forum says right at the top we fixed it basically. I even tried logging into someone else’s device who actually could get in & once we switched to my account, boom – crashed. I think it’s specific accounts on servers possibly? What else could be letting some in & some not?
I just wonder if it is data overload. Similar to when you exceed the 4500 items in town warning. It looks similar to those issues created to me. We are looking into it.
Well I got a hold of live help. They claim it’s just a general issue with lots of devices & that my account & game seemed fine & to just hopefully wait it out within 24 hours. =(
The advisor said he was experiencing the same issue on his android as well. So now we wait some more lol.

You are welcome. The lag itself is a hit and miss issue. Keep an eye on it and reopen the case if it does not resolve.
This sounds like it’s an issue specifically related to YOUR town (maybe some others as well). This happened to Wookiee before as well, and a few others. When your friend’s go to visit your town does it appear? Or does their game crash?
This is something you need to contact EA immediately on, as it relates specifically to your town.
Oh my gosh your right! When someone checked my town it crashed their app too! =(
So just go to ea & send a convo through technical support I suppose? I tried asking before with the in game help an never got a reply & ended up just ending the conversation. Unless there’s a faster way?

Try all methods it offers you. Email, chat, (if you get the option) call. If you feel the person you are speaking to is not helping, ask for someone else or try again. Just as in any company…each rep varies in knowledge and ability to help. Sadly that is just life in any business. Let us know how it goes.
Yeah… Friend Points aren’t working. I visited two neighbors, and the box at the bottom left says I get 10FP for the next 24 actions but I have 0/5000 points to the next level.
A few others are reporting it as well. Give me just a little bit to check into my game and see what’s going on.
I kept tapping, and now it says I’ll get 2FP for the next 21 ations, but I have 1/1 points to the next level, hahaha!
Yah, we are looking into the FP issue.
On the other hand, the “Thank You” window that awards you with 25XP after completeing 3 actions is working!

It gave “Cool Lisa” as a new Friendship prize BUT for some reason im not getting any FP for tapping friends. Don’t know if that’s a glitch or intentional but its going to make it take forever to earn the 5000FP needed if you can only get them from handshake clears.
Also, i’m only getting $107 now (instead of the $200ish) from tapping my friends and that has been happening since the easter clear update so not sure if that’s permanent or if it will go back up to $200ish after clearing the new friend level…
You have to be at the max level to max out on the $ earned from tapping.

Mine has gone down to to $107 I think before update it was $200+
Well my FP are back but now my $ reward for tapping dropped from $107 to $28 (I think) so I guess it’s safe to say that the drop from $200 -> $100 wasn’t related to being max level Friendship rating. Not that i’m complaining… just trying to crack the code.
Check to make sure you didn’t store items that gave you multipliers into your inventory.
The bonus for the max level was a 3 times rate.
Once a new FP level is out, the bonus resets until you hit the max level again.
As far as the FP, I am looking into it. None work for me either
I think that the de-Easter-ing update changed the $ bonus: during Easter, I was earning >200$ per tap, but I was down at ~115$ during this couple of days (before the new FP level, I mean).
To be honest, the 200$ seemed like another bug (a nice one, for a change), since ~115$ is the correct amount of cash based on the max FP level + my conformometer/premium bonus
You got extra for the FP max level too. Once the new FP started to go into play (prob an update too soon) it put the bonus level back down. I noticed it too.
Still no lagging fix! Come on EA can’t visit any neighbours as it lags so much! Have opened a ticket with them but as they didn’t respond to my previous ones don’t hold out much hope unlike the game we must not name who are fantastic at contacting their players!
I SURE was hoping that little update also helped whatever is making it so laggy as to be almost unplayable. 🙁

Me to! It’s just about playable in my own towns but friends is a no go but in my own town it’s so slow but in friends worlds crashes and is sooooo slow : someone did make a suggestion on this site if you have your characters on inside tasks it helped and I have found that is true!
It does seem to help to have less “activity” in your town.
